What can I say - besides that working with Naomi Martin of Martin Jobes Design was a highlight of my wedding planning process, and indeed the wedding itself.
I initially approached Martin Jobes Design with a minuscule budget for flowers and decor for our wedding at St Bartholomew's and 620 Loft & Garden. I was afraid that we would be laughed out of her office! To Naomi's credit, she didn't make us feel awkward or uncomfortable in any way, reassured us that it would still look great, and set about creating a proposal that could fit our small budget.
A couple of months later, my husband walked the space and became increasingly concerned about whether we could transform the 'big white venue' with minimal decor. Once again, Naomi stepped in and offered reasonable upgrade options, highlighting those that would have the most impact in the space. She helped us navigate what we really needed, and what we didn't.
I live in LA and was studying in London, and right up until the end, things were changing and adjusting. Naomi became the 'go-to'- constantly revising the floor plan, sourcing a seating chart when there was an issue with our planned chart, offering baskets for the blankets, umbrella stands - you name it, she supplied it. All with a smile and 'can do attitude'. Nothing was too much for her.
Working with Naomi is just such a pleasure - she is incredibly responsive and has a unique creative vision that transforms a space completely. She also managed to find a king protea for my bouquet which was one thing I insisted upon, even though they are rather hard to find in the US. Chris and Naomi worked so hard on all the centre pieces, floral mirrors and the wishing tree, and you could see the love that they put into creating the vision.
I would 100% recommend Naomi as a fabulous creative partner and am happy to provide further details of our experience if anyone is interested, at kbhebbert@gmail.com.
After endlessly researching and meeting with florists for my wedding, I chose Martin Jobes Design and am so happy I did. I found their name after seeing pictures of a gorgeous wedding they did on Style Me Pretty. I walked into their studio with my pinterest board and after seeing just a few pictures, Naomi told me she knew exactly what I'd like and she was right. After meeting with Naomi and Chris, I knew I could trust whatever they wanted to create. Their aesthetic is simple, elegant, tasteful, and beautiful with great attention to detail.
More importantly, Naomi is a dream to work with. She always responded to me right away throughout the whole process. As a few unavoidable last minute changes occurred (i.e. weather back-up plans, increased number of tables), she was flexible, kind, patient, and available. On the day of my wedding, everything looked exactly like I'd hoped. The colors and arrangements were perfect and just as described in the detailed proposal I received after we initially met a year prior.
Everyone told me, you just get a feeling when you meet with vendors and it's important to feel like you can trust whatever they create. That's exactly how I felt after walking out of their studio when we met and they really delivered. I would highly recommend Martin Jobes Design to any bride.
We have used Martin Jobes Design on several occasions to design and provide flowers for events. They always deliver above and beyond expectation. We recently did a wedding with them in August that had many moving pieces. They did several walk throughs to ensure everything was in place for design and lighting, worked with a crew of 25 and turned over a room to look completely different in just an hour and a half. We always enjoy working with Naomi and Chris and look forward to all of their creative ideas. I can honestly say we would recommend them to anyone and have. You will be in great hands with this vendor!
Even now, almost a year after my wedding I am still raving about how Naomi and Chris at Martin Jobes Design brought their creativity to our wedding in the most impeccable ways. The first time I met with Naomi, I had a binder completely overstuffed with every detail of my dream wedding and somehow that day she could see it too. They worked with us not only on design but also on making sure we could have our dream decor within our budget. When we were at their studio dropping some of our wedding details off, you could see what care was going into the arrangements that were being made. This truly struck me. There were even last minute details that I did not have to worry about because I could trust them to make the decisions. (Keep in mind - this is a lot to say for a bride that was incredibly particular about every fine detail of her wedding). Because I could trust them with those decisions, it really allowed me to relax the days leading up to my wedding knowing that everything was in good hands.
I would recommend Martin Jobes Design, hands down, for every reason in the book. There is not one negative comment I could make. If my husband and I could get married 5 more times (to each other of course) we would pick them every time for their creativity, professionalism, dependability, flexibility, and the over all kind and understanding people that they both are.
If you would like to see our pictures or have any further questions about my experience please feel free to email me russo.sandy@gmail.com and I'd be happy to respond.
Martin Jobes did a magnificent job for our wedding w little direction and involvement from me. I explained my idea and they took creative design. They helped work with our budget and the end result was better than I expected. The flowers were big, full and super fresh. I would highly recommend.
I worked with Martin Jobes Design for my wedding in July at the New York Botanical Gardens. Although I had some basic ideas of colors and types of flowers I wanted, the team at Martin Jobes immediately got the vision and brought it to life. I found them to be very easy and flexible to work with, including on budget. When I felt that things were too expensive, there was no pushback, just a strong sense of partnership in wanting to make it all work. They day of the wedding was seamless as they worked perfectly with the venue and everything got set up beautifully and professionally. I would highly recommend them to any brides in the NYC area -- great to work with, beautiful results, and overall, a very easy experience.
We renewed our wedding vows at a swish private club, fancy and fun. Naomi arrived for the consultation and knew exactly what to do. I don't know what we would have done without her suggestions; for instance, she encouraged us to get a platform so all guests could see us -- so important, and no one else had suggested it. The flowers were big and beautiful, which the space needed to feel full, and my bouquet was stunning. Naomi's team finished with plenty of extra time to spare, which I appreciated. I will use her for many special events to come.
We got married on Saturday, 8/10/2013.
When I met with Naomi and Chris for the first time, I knew right away that I was going to use them. They are very nice and friendly, and on top of that, they are really easy to work with. I showed them what I wanted and told them my vision. They understood where I was coming from, that I was not picky about the type of flowers, but was picky about colors and maintenance. My fiance at the time, even approved them and was pretty adamant about using them for our wedding day flowers.
We used bows for the church ceremony, which Martin Jobes also did, which was made out of ivory chiffon that draped down to the floor - gorgeous and elegant. I couldn't help but stare at them, even during my ceremony!
When it came to the reception at the New York Botanical Garden, the first thing I walked into was the beautiful white branch/purple flowers escort table centerpiece. I was in awe and my mom came running up to me and was like "GORGEOUS!" And it is really hard to impress my mom!
The dinner table centerpieces were so darn gorgeous, that I am still thinking about it to this day. I also heard from many of my guests, which they had the same look of "awe" as my mother and I did. It was the perfect amount of purple and different types of flowers in the perfect arrangement! Also, we had tables of 12, and the centerpieces were full of color and abundant, it literally looked like a mini garden in the center of the table!
I definitely would recommend Martin Jobes to anyone getting married in the New York metropolitan area. Aside from their incredibly creative minds, they are really easy to work with and extremely friendly - which will give you the confidence that your wedding day will beautiful and perfect.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Naomi, of MJD. Her taste was impeccable, the quality was top-notch and the service was excellent. The entire production of floral and event design was seamlessly executed, and the result was absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend MJD to future brides!
I cannot put down in to words the amazing-ness that is Martin Jobes Design. Naomi and Chris are absolutely wonderful! From our very first meeting they knew what we wanted and made our ideas even better and more beautiful then we could have ever imagined. From the overall layout of our venue at the Boathouse in Central Park, down to the very last detail everything was perfect. And let me tell you, the flowers were beyond amazing. The colors, and arrangements were so gorgeous! Our guests were totally blown away by it all.
It was truly a pleasure working with the MJD team; they made the whole planning process fun, and made sure if we asked them for something they delivered. If we brought them an idea but we weren't sure how exactly it could be executed they walked us through how they would make it happen. It can be hard trusting someone else with your "wedding vision" but i promise MJD will make your vision a reality. I would recommend MJD to anyone and everyone. If you want a truly spectacular and unique wedding they are the ones to call!
As soon as I saw Martin Jobes online gallery I knew I wanted to hire them. They have a unique vision of what you can do with flowers, that I didn't see anywhere else. Their arrangements are like sculptures full of innovative and elegant forms.
When I met with Naomi Martin and Chris Jobes they very quickly keyed into what I would like. This meant that once the broad strokes were settled (colors, number of center pieces and bouquets, chupah, etc.) I didn't have to spend valuable time managing the details, but could just trust them to deliver.
And deliver they did! The flowers were more amazing than I could have imagined. Naomi and Chris were very professional, and were able to work within our budget.
We really enjoyed working with Martin Jobes Design for our outdoor wedding at the NY Botanical Garden this past May. Martin Jobes is one of the NYBG's preferred vendors. We live in DC so it was hard for us to make a lot of trips back to NY. However, when we met with Maritn Jobes, we knew we were in good hands. I really enjoyed working with Martin Jobes because they were very patient with us and they helped us figure out what we wanted. Throughout the planning process they were very receptive to our various emails and inquiries and provided lots of feedback along the way. One of the most challenging aspects of our wedding was that it was both interfaith/intercultural and we were trying to cram lots of different things together and it was getting a little bit out of control. Naomi was a great listener and she helped us create a more cohesive theme for our wedding. Ultimately, our inspiration for our floral arrangements, stemmed from our love of Japan. For our table centerpieces, we used the Moribana style of Ikebana featuring light pink peonies placed inside a decorative tray. The centerpieces were really lovely and delicate. (However, if you choose this style you might want to have plastic bowls on hand so guests can easily transport them home.) While the centerpieces were a hit our guests raved about the escort table, which consisted of flowering orange branches adorned with paper cranes that my husband and I had made together. Instead of a guest book we asked guests to “write wishes for the new couple” and hang them on the wishing tree. Overall, we had a great experience working with Martin Jobes and we were very pleased by their professionalism, commitment and artistic skill.
All I can say is wow. Naomi, Chris and the whole Martin Jobes Design team hit a home run. I started working with Naomi a little over a year ago to design the decor for my wedding this past Sunday. Naomi used my Pinterest board to create a beautiful proposal that came in under budget (!). I knew from the proposal that the flowers would be beautiful but I couldn't imagine just how jaw dropping it would be. From the gorgeous chuppah to my bouquet to the cocktail tables and the absolutely breathtaking escort card table to the romantic and gorgeous table settings, I can't put in to words how amazing it all was. Naomi and Chris absolutely killed it. If you have the opportunity to work with these true artists, please take it! Their ability to create beauty is simply remarkable. Thank you for making my wedding so gorgeous!!!!
Working with Naomi Martin from Martin Jobes was a very pleasant experience as nothing is impossible with her. She is quick to understand your concepts and requirements and provide quick samples on what you may want without you even knowing what you want. She is very flexible with changes, straight forward and honest as she did not push extras on us, hides nothing, is non traditional and gave us very a very contemporary motif for the wedding and reception. Everyone at the wedding was floored by her choice of the flowers, linen recommendations, and color choices as we gave her a lot of free reign and little direction. Even the judge who married us (Judge Bill Corbett) was even impressed and wanted videos and photos of the flowers. We really recommend them if you are looking for a fresh look and theme away from the traditional sort. I would definitely use them again. Thank you again Naomi and Chris!
Naomi is the best! We don't know how she did it, but she created an ambiance that we wanted without much input from us. Everything from boutonnieres to center pieces...everything was simply beautiful! She even took photos of the floral arrangements and of us and emailed them to us!!!
Naomi and the team at Martin Jobes Design did an AMAZING job with the flowers and décor at our wedding. From being able to take our inspiration and create a magical canopy huppah, to a stand-out orchid tree to last minute bouquet creations to stunning centerpieces – at the rehearsal dinner and reception. Everything was flawless. The different rooms transitioned nicely from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing and provided our guests a unique atmosphere every time they stepped off the elevator.
Naomi and Chris certainly made our wedding beautiful and memorable.
