bride to be disappointed in something so important to her! I rarely write poor reviews but after spending thousands of dollars we were really disappointed with John Martin Videography. They started out great and worked to accommodate us when we like many others were unable to have our 2020 wedding due to COVID. We even paid them to cover an intimate family ceremony while we waited to have our large celebration. The first red flag was that they were late to our intimate ceremony so we missed out on some precious moments like a first look with my dad. He apologized and said there was a bad accident so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and told him not to worry. However, after the wedding the red flags kept piling up. We saw a completely different side of them. For one—they took over ONE YEAR to provide us with the edited video. Every time I emailed for an update, I had to follow up several times because they “weren’t getting my emails” and then I was told that we were next in line and it would be ready soon. Every 2 months I was told the same story and given a list of different excuses. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but I reached out to another bride from them who had a similar experience. After receiving the edited video I had to email over and over again for weeks to mail over the raw footage we had paid for. Then, we discovered half the raw footage doesn’t have any sound. During the process of waiting for our video I tried to tag my husband in a harmless “can’t wait to see ours” comment on their instagram and discovered that I was restricted from commenting on their instagram post. It made me feel really gross that they are clearly censoring comments/ reviews. They are the obviously working very hard to limit any reviews of their business. Once we finally did get the video it was quite a let down. Firstly it was less time than the minimum laid out in contract. He argued with me that they recently changed their contract until I emailed him a screenshot of the signed copy I had on file. Next, multiple clips had been played twice and a lot of material was simply missing (getting ready, bridesmaids in robes, groomsmen pics). It just sort of felt like it had been thrown together. I reached out to him with my concerns and to correct the length of video which he sent back about a month later (after some email reminders) but said he simply didn’t have footage for some of the key moments we were looking for. The wedding video was something really important to us and something we splurged on with a company we thought would be exceptional. But after spending over $5000 we expected better. I recommend booking elsewhere.
