Mary Ann is amazing. From our first meeting I knew she'd do an awesome job. We got so many compliments from our wedding guests about her! On wedding day she calmed our nerves so much - she knows what she's doing and handles it seamlessly. She checked in on us - and comforted our parents when they weren't sure when they needed to speak and what not. I really cannot recommend her enough. Professional, kind, funny, and really took the time to know us to make our day perfect.
MA is the BEST!!!! We hired her for our wedding and it was the best decision we made. Both us and our guests absolutely love her. My favorite things: 1) She knew how to keep a crowd moving 2) She only MC'd when she needed, she never spoke too much, but she was always there and attentive to the people's needs, even when unspoken 3) so professional and so good at communicating 4) her personality!! Absolutely loved working with her and would hire her for any of my events. Highly recommend!!
Mary Ann has a wonderful gift. Not only is she the best disc jockey around she is such a kind person. She was a breath of fresh air through the entire process. She worked with my husband and I learning our music vibe, song choices and respected our absolute do not plays. She answered all of our questions in a timely manner and was so organized! We received so many compliments after our wedding regarding Mary Ann, everyone simply loved her. Mary Ann went above and beyond. When my husband's favorite song came on she gave him a mic and let him karaoke. Your special event will be memorable and amazing if you go with Mary Ann, you won't regret it.
Mary Ann is the best of the best. She is so good that she was the DJ at my parents wedding in 1991 and then I had the pleasure of her being the DJ at my wedding as well. She is a true professional. I had no idea what to expect on how to pick music or what to do to even begin. She helped my husband and I mix our cultures in together, play fun music that everyone would dance to, and make sure that it was personal to our taste as well. Mary Ann is a BLAST to have at any party, she was on the dance floor, kept us on our schedule, and was absolutely amazing at keeping our wedding fun. We are truly blessed to know her and have her in our corner for the next party!
Mary Ann came very highly recommended to us by two of our friends who employed her services for their weddings. We had a very short engagement and were thrilled that we were able to book her given the brief three months that we gave her to set up for our big day.
She was such a pleasure to work with and we are so grateful for the advice she shared with us as well as the patience she had for us in our indecisiveness and seeming inability to meet deadlines. She was always happy to give feedback on and accommodate my goofier song ideas where I was able to fit them in.
She is a true professional and we were really at ease knowing that she had everything handled alongside our day-of coordinator with regard to keeping the event on schedule, announcing us at the right time, corralling guests and pulling them aside when they needed to be gathered for photos, etc. The evening went without any issues whatsoever - even with a rain shower that almost threw our schedule off - and all the minute-by-minute items on our day-of schedule were nailed to a tee. She had a huge hand in the fact that we were able to actually be present and enjoy our own wedding day as opposed to running around like maniacs checking things off of a to-do list or wondering where we were supposed to be at any given time.
She does a really great job with song selection too and played all the music I gave her as well as some of her own picks which was really helpful in the situations that I struggled to come up with ideas of my own. She is very thorough (but not tediously so) in the way she tries to get to know your music tastes and we never for a minute worried about what song was going to be playing next. She has a great talent for reading the room and playing the right tracks at the right time.
As I told her after our wedding was wrapped up, if I had to go back and plan everything over again I would have picked her again ten times out of ten. Do yourself a favor and book her if she is available for your event!
We are so happy that we booked Mary Ann! She was a dream to work with! We are a same sex couple, and she was very affirming of us. We did multiple phone calls with her prior to the wedding day, and she brought a lot of experience and insight to those- plus a lot of energy! We had the opportunity to personalize the music that played before our ceremony and during cocktail hour/during dinner, which meant a lot to us. Overall, Mary Ann brought a lot of fun and energy on our wedding day. She had me dancing all night! She was an absolute joy to work with.
I can't say enough about Mary Ann! She is incredible as a person and AMAZING at what she does. We had several phone calls with her leading up to our wedding, and she was very interested about getting our 'vibe' and what kind of music we wanted to play during dinner and the reception. She is very detail-oriented and made us feel extremely comfortable about the timing of our grand entrance, first dance, mother-son, father-daughter dances, etc. We sent her a spotify playlist of songs we liked for dinner and the reception, and she had us select the absolute 15 favorites that we wanted played. But then she was able to interweave most of our requested songs throughout the night. She was very communicative with us on the big day - getting thoughts on how we were liking the music, volume, etc. and was open to all suggestions. She does not use fog machines, crazy lights, effects, doesn't yell into the mic to get people to dance, etc. She lets her craft speak for itself. She is truly gifted and such a genuine person - and a big reason of why we had such a BLAST during our reception. We are dancey people and I think we only left the dance floor once that night :) Thanks Mary Ann!
I can't say enough good things about Mary Ann. My husband and I wanted to dance the entire night, and her music kept the dance floor packed. I was a little high maintenance about song requests, and Mary Ann went above and beyond to make sure the music was what I wanted.
Mary Ann was absolutely the best wedding DJ we could have hoped for! We were looking for someone who wouldn’t make the evening about them, instead keeping the focus on us and our guests and she delivered on that and more! She was very attentive to what we needed, and helped us through the day with cues to make sure we knew what to do. The music was exactly what we asked for, and even when we didn’t select individual songs, she lined up the tone of the wedding with exactly what we were looking for. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!
My husband and I had the pleasure of not only having Mary Ann as our DJ, but we were able to go to a friend's wedding who also had Mary Ann! From the first phone call with her, we knew she was the DJ for us. She is fantastic to work with and kept people on the dance floor all night. She did a great job reading the room when it came to recommendations and when we needed a quick break. She also made sure that I was on the dance floor for the last three songs of the night when I was making a quick outfit change. We didn't have to worry about any of the music all night. It's like she was able to read my mind and knew exactly what kind of vibe my husband and I were looking for. Even prior to the wedding she was super responsive and helped answer all of our questions about first dance, ceremony music, etc. She has forms to fill out to make sure it is clear what kind of music you are looking for and make sure she doesn't play anything you don't love. At my friend's wedding she was equally as wonderful. It wasn't the same type of group, but Mary Ann did a great job catering to each wedding based on the vibe and the couple's requests. I will always recommend Mary Ann to be your DJ. Just message her now, you will not be disappointed!
Mary Ann is the best in the business! I could tell from our first conversation that she would be so much fun to work together, and she was! I so appreciated her flexibility and patience as we navigated postponing our wedding and swapping venues during COVID. Despite social distancing, she still kept our party going and everyone had an amazing time! Cannot thank you enough, Mary Ann! Highly recommend!

Honestly, Mary Ann was one of the best parts of our wedding day! I could tell from the first time we spoke that we were on the same page, and she did not disappoint. She is quick to give suggestions and feedback on music as needed, but also completely able to cater to your style and preferences! She did not miss a beat for the ceremony and every moment leading up to the reception, where she definitely kept the dance floor alive. We were very impressed and could not recommend her enough!
Mary Ann was perfect for us! We were nervous about having to manage the reception and be the center of attention - she was so respectful of our nerves and handled everything perfectly. If you want your guests to RAVE about how much fun they had at your wedding then all you need to do is hire MA for your big day. She will make you feel like a guest at your own wedding, and keep your guests on the dance floor all night. She knows how to read a room, and provided so much comfort in the days leading up to the wedding, and the day of. She honestly kept the night on track because she is so insanely organized, and helped us create the vibe we wanted for our day. It sincerely wouldn’t have been the same without her. We are so grateful!
Mary Ann was incredible. This wasn't the first time my family has used her and it surely won't be the last. Mary Ann knows how to read the crowd and keep people on the dance floor and is SO much fun to be with. You can tell by the way she interacts with the crowd that she truly enjoys and takes pride in her work. We had a slight hiccup at our wedding with the weather where we almost had to evacuate the tent and move inside and Mary Ann was ready at the drop of a hat to grab a speaker and her laptop and bring the party inside. Luckily we didn't have to, but her adaptability was reassuring to us. I can't recommend Mary Ann enough for any event that you have.
Mary Ann is an amazing music ninja. On our wedding day, she slipped so sneakily into the background that at times we forgot she was there! But her presence was so essential and such a beautiful part of the day. We loved chatting with her in the lead-up to the events, and she was such a reassuring force the day of — keeping everything running smoothly and setting just the right tone for every moment. During the planning stages, we really appreciated how attentive Mary Ann was to all of our requests, and how quick she was to suggest great solutions for all of our worries. We are so grateful we had a chance to work with her and highly recommend her DJ magic.
I normally don't leave reviews unless i had a terrible experience. But Mary Ann has exceeded my expectations and I have to make that known. I knew I made the right choice by hiring Mary Ann after my initial phone meeting with her. The first thing she asked me was "What were the reasons why you didn't hire the DJs you've seen at other weddings?" And I told her because of the type of music played didn't appeal to the crowd, the transitions between songs were terrible, and the sound quality. Mary Ann knows how to read the crowd. My dance floor was never empty. I wish I had a part two for my wedding so I can hire her again!. Thanks Mary Ann!

Mary Ann rocks! She was highly recommended by our venue and every other vendor we met with only had great things to say about her. When we read through her online bio, we knew we had the same tastes in music and she was the right choice. When we finally got to meet in person closer to the wedding date to go over details, I couldn’t believe the instant connection she and my now husband made over music! They were on the same exact wavelength and she knew exactly what vibes we wanted. She was fantastic on the day of, and was a subtle yet effective MC. The dance floor was packed the whole night! I really liked that she came up to ask us if we wanted her to play a requested song, because she knew it wasn’t something we wanted played but it had been asked for a few times. She was able to control the situation with no issues. I would recommend her any day!
Working with Mary Ann was such a delight! From our first phone conversation, I knew MA was a DJ unlike any other. I instantly felt a connection and knew that we would be booking Mary Ann for our DJ! Everything was perfect. We got so many compliments from our guests about how the wedding flowed so smoothly and how amazing the music was. Oh my goodness, where do I begin. Mary Ann is a true professional and an artist in her craft. She is incredibly talented and in my opinion, the best in the business! She works with you from day one to make sure that your reception goes exactly the way you want it. She was very flexible and was able to help us with our ceremony last minute as well. EVERYONE at our wedding raved about our DJ for weeks after the wedding. I really can't say enough good things about Mary Ann. She is extremely personable and kind and really cares about your vision. So so happy we worked with her!
Mary Ann was beyond amazing. From our first conversation I knew we were meant to be! We hired Mary Ann as DJ and MC for our March Wedding at Planterra. The entire experience of working with Mary Ann was wonderful. Our initial meeting was a lot of fun discussing our vision for our wedding and having Mary Ann’s input on the best way she could help make that open. Her suggestions meshed with our ideas seamlessly. We did not have much in the way of must play songs, more broad strokes of how we wanted the evening to progress. The different sets Mary Ann created for the different parts of the evening were superb. We had Mary Ann ranging from classical to big band and swing to broadway to top 20 and Dance. Everything flowed beautifully. Her communication through both the planning and the event itself was a perfect amount to keep us up to date without over doing it. Mary Ann also did a fantastic job MCing the evening. Keeping track of our bridal party was not the easiest job, and she did it well. Both Erika and I can confidently recommend Mary Ann for any event and can’t imagine our wedding without her!
MA is honestly the best. She is way more than a DJ – She is a true entertainer. Thanks to MA, we had a packed dance floor at our wedding reception all night until we were forced out of the ballroom at 1:00 AM. We were thrilled to meet her early on, as we had been focused (once we knew we would not be using a live band) on finding the coolest, best DJ in the Detroit region. And that we did. She's of the region, and her style, taste and mode of working reflect this. It's an honor to have her in our world.

Mary Ann is a phenomenal, professional, and classy DJ. People were on the dance floor literally all night until the music stopped. We continue to have people tell us how incredible the music was and that they haven't danced like that at a wedding in years! Mary Ann was always easy to contact and quickly responded to any questions. She is also extremely detail oriented and will perfect all names and music requests. Mary Ann was amazing from start to finish. She met with us before the wedding to go over the agenda and get the proper pronunciations of everyone in the wedding party. At the wedding she was organized and did an amazing job announcing all of the toasts, cake cutting, and first dance. After dinner she got people out on the dance floor immediately. Throughout the entire night, the dance floor was packed and people were having an amazing time! Everyone from grandparents to young cousins were out dancing and laughing. Mary Ann helped make our big day so much fun for everyone!
Firstly, Mary Ann Productions was recommended by our amazing wedding photographer, and I think it speaks volumes for someone to recommend another vendor for the same event they're booked to work. To me, that requires a lot of trust that they will help an event go smoothly and won't hinder your reputation or interaction with the hosts.
Secondly, Mary Ann was very supportive, responsive, and enthusiastic about all of the little details and music elements we wanted to include. She also gave a lot of constructive insight based on her past experiences.
Most importantly, she made sure to touch base with us throughout the night to ensure we were there for the special moments we requested and she was very flexible. We gave her a lot of creative control (because we trusted her, but also did not have the energy to micromanage), and she did not disappoint! So many guests told us how great the music was, and the dance floor was full all night. Also: her setup is very minimal (not flashy and overbearing like some DJs), so it didn't interfere with our aesthetic. She just provided a fantastic time and made our night the most perfect it could be!
Mary Ann is the best in the business for a reason. She reached out to us before our wedding to get an idea of our vision for music and dancing, and made professional recommendations for us as well. Throughout the reception, she continuously checked in with us, as well as our parents, to ask about requests and how we were feeling. She did all of this while keeping the dance floor packed all night long! We still have people messaging us weeks after our wedding to tell us they haven't seen their significant other dance like they did at our wedding in years!
I don't know where to begin with how fantastic Mary Ann is. Please excuse the lengthy review but I think it will help future brides.
We had our reception at The Gem Theatre in Detroit and the sound and music done by Mary Ann was incredible. We were referred to Mary Ann through our photographer and were won over right away during our phone consult. Mary Ann is incredibly professional yet tons of fun! She met with us at a restaurant in Royal Oak, treated us to dinner, and went over our entire vision and plan for the reception. She was on top of her game music wise, she listened to what we liked and didn't like, she made sure that she had everything down for our reception before we finished our meeting even if it took several hours.
At the reception, Mary Ann got our 16 person bridal party in order and did a fantastic job with introductions. She moved things along with the speeches, and played fantastic music during dinner. When an incident concerning attire occurred, she made sure to smooth things over and move things along without anyone else noticing. Following our first dance, I can honestly say the dance floor never cleared out. The manager at The Gem told my mom that she couldn't remember the last time the dance floor was always packed and it was an actual party. That was all thanks to Mary Ann. She listened to what we wanted to hear and be played, she made sure nothing we didn't like got played, even if it was requested. Mary Ann was unbelievably professional; the music she choose for us was exactly what we had envisioned without me having to make sure and talk to her constantly that what I wanted to be played was played; and Mary Ann was dressed professionally and looked fantastic as well!
From start to finish Mary Ann's service was impeccable. She responded to emails and texts rapidly and her demeanor and professionalism put myself and my now husband at ease. I can't recommend her enough!!
I highly recommend hiring Mary Ann for your wedding! She is an immensely fun, sincere, and caring person who will work with you to make sure your guests are having a great time and your night runs smoothly. It was so easy to trust her and kick back knowing she had her eye on the timeline for speeches and it was refreshing to have a MC and DJ that truly felt like a friend and wedding guest. I will also add to her awesomeness on the day of, that she was prompt, professional, and friendly in all of our communication leading up. If you are thinking of hiring Mary Ann, do it! She is so amazing to work with throughout the whole planning process and on the day of the wedding. There were people on our dance floor all night and her selection of music was great for all of our guests, young and old! Mary Ann went our of her way throughout the night to check on us and make sure that we had everything that we needed. She knows how to read a room and is the perfect emcee. Her planning process is super thorough, so that she can make sure your night is exactly how you want it. We definitely recommend her!

We loved working with Mary Ann. We didn't have to really do a thing, and we had a great time! She is friendly and professional and fun and helped us organize the events during the reception in the best way possible. The few things we did have specifics on, she totally understood and helped make them special. There were several people who were unable to attend and she made she to acknowledge them in a meaningful way. This was particularly special at the end of our night when she closed out our party with two songs that have a lot of meaning to us. It made everything so personal.
MARY ANN IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! My husband and I think she was one of the best things about our wedding. Mary Ann just "got us." We didn't even provide her with a song list, we named artists and fully trusted her just by speaking with her a few times on the phone.
The music was SPOT ON and she had the entire dance floor full the entire time with the crowd yelling Encore at the end. There aren't many DJ's who can say that happens to them, I bet! :)

Mary Ann is an awesome DJ, and an equally awesome person. If you want a DJ that you will actually enjoy corresponding with and working with, Mary Ann is your gal. She is personable, outgoing and approachable. My fiance and I met her for drinks one day to discuss our music and entertainment vision for our wedding, and we could have sat and talked for another hour. Personality aside, Mary Ann listened to everything we asked for, and totally got the vision for our wedding day. We had a couple of nontraditional wedding things at our reception (pinata, our two college mascots, traditional Mexican chair dance, etc), and Mary Ann made sure that these were executed exactly as we saw them in our heads. From following up with our venue to make sure our entrance was correct, to interacting with guests, to making sure intros and speeches ran smoothly, Mary Ann was so on the ball. It was also a great sign that at the end of the night, the entire wedding was chanting "one more song!". Mary Ann sure helped us throw an awesome party!
Mary Ann is the BEST!!! Our dance floor was packed from the very first song! She handled our ceremony music and dinner music and she knew exactly what needed to be played at each part of our wedding! Choosing MA as our dj was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We had some unique requests and she totally embraced it and came up with some AMAZING set lists! She is very hands-on in making sure things run smoothly too - while our speeches were going on, there was a lot of noise coming from the kitchen, and I saw her (not the venue staff) step over and close the door to avoid any distractions from the speeches. Just little things like that show how professional she is and how good at her job she is. MA isn't like some cheesey dj's who just want to hear themselves talk all night, and that was important to us. She knows how to read the crowd and play music that will keep the dance floor packed! Choosing MA as our DJ was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process! From day one, she was helpful, energetic, and just "got" us as a couple. She understood exactly what type of music we liked and helped us to create a great lineup of songs. During the planning, she really helped to guide us through the planning process, figuring out details I would have never even thought of. The night of our wedding, She was spot on with all introductions of the wedding party and parents. She was processional and on schedule the whole night. We actually had her do the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. There was not a single moment all night that I was displeased with the music. The ceremony was beautiful. Cocktail hour and dinner included all of our favorite indie songs. And the reception was the most fun I have ever had. The dance floor was never empty. She is not a cliche DJ. She is such a caring, professional woman who really does have a gift & passion for music. She is much more than a DJ. We got so many compliments on the music that night that I lost track. I would recommend mary ann to anyone! Looking back, we could not imagine our wedding without her!
Mary Ann knows how to keep the dance floor packed! This was the only request I had for her. I really did not give her a play list/do not play list. I just let her do her thing. She is amazing at that. Our friends and family danced all night. We love her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great DJ!
Mary Ann is INCREDIBLE! Music is so important to my husband and I and were so worried about finding a 'not-cheesy' DJ that not only understood us, but would take our music recommendations and run with it. Mary Ann did exactly that and so much more!!
Our dance floor at our reception was packed the entire night. My feet are still recovering from dancing the night away and every single one of our guests has requested our play list - a HUGE compliment coming from our group of 'music buffs' :)
