About this vendor
Mary Ann’s Tea Room is an elegant event venue located in St. Louis, MO. This Victorian-inspired tea room and restaurant hosts beautiful and sophisticated events and is ideal for wedding-related festivities. The venue is modeled after traditional British tea rooms and is known for its afternoon tea experience.
Mary Ann’s Tea Room is named after Mary Ann Allison, a prominent figure in St. Louis during the second half of the 20th century. Mary Ann was well-known throughout the community as a ray of sunshine. A local celebrity, she had an optimistic outlook and an infectious smile. She was one of the first women to graduate from the University of Missouri’s marketing program in the early 1960s. Later, she went on to open two antique shops in St. Louis’ Central West End, where her namesake tea room is now located. Her patrons enjoyed her outgoing personality and unparalleled expertise, as well as the wonderful antiques she traded. Mary Ann was everyone’s favorite neighbor, and the tea room’s owners paid homage to her by giving their establishment her name. Located in one of St. Louis’ most charming districts, this tea room is meticulously designed, from its antique decor to the carefully crafted menu. The spacious restaurant is housed in a beautiful brick building and features a high glass ceiling, giving it the atmosphere of an elegant Victorian conservatory. No detail has been spared in decorating the space, from the grand china cabinets to the regal stone fountain. Delicate crystal chandeliers hang over the space, while intricate oil paintings line the walls. Table linens change with the time of year and often feature lace or seasonal colors. The tea room is an ideal choice for couples interested in a unique experience for their celebrations.
This venue specializes in serving traditional afternoon tea, complete with scones, pastries, and sandwiches. The attentive staff creates an authentic English tea service, whether by helping you select a delicious tea blend or helping you plan your event. It is a gorgeous space for a wedding shower, engagement party, or even a ceremony. The restaurant has menus available for high tea, brunch, and lunch, and they are happy to work with you to create your own. Their dishes were devised by Chef Jeffrey Crider with assistance from Chef Stephen Proctor of the St. Louis Fox Theatre. To complete the experience, Mary Ann’s Tea Room has an authentic black English taxi that can pick you up in the Central West End.
