Mary Bell and her team (special shout out to Katie) were the perfect choice for our fall wedding in the NC mountains. They were communicative throughout the entire process and went above and beyond to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. Mary has wonderful recommendations for every sort of vendor you could possibly imagine to make your day unique (ie. Alpacas and poets). Our wedding was impacted by Hurricane Helene 2 weeks before and I am so so grateful to Mary Bell and Katie for staying in contact and making sure everything went off without a hitch when they were going through so much personally. I cannot recommend using Mary Bell as your wedding planner ENOUGH. An absolute professional who will make your dreams come true.
We hired Mary Bell for our Asheville wedding. Katie was a delight to work with on the day of, and her whole team was there for us every step of the way. It was such a weight off our shoulders to get curated lists of vendor suggestions already in our price range. Cannot recommend enough.
We got married at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and after booking our venue 1.5 years in advance the next vendor we booked was Mary Bell. The Biltmore requires a day-of coordinator but after reading about the different service levels (day-of, partial planning, and full planning) we decided to get a full wedding planner since we don't live in Asheville. Also we've never planned a wedding before so I wanted someone who knew what they were doing, what would look best, and handle all the details for us. Mary Bell was the only planner we talked to since it was clear she and her team are very experienced and knowledgeable, especially with weddings at the Biltmore. She is the nicest person and was very prompt in responding to any questions we had throughout the process. She provided vendor recommendations and we only selected from those she recommended, and every vendor we talked to said how amazing Mary Bell was so we knew we were lucky to have her as our planner. Throughout the planning process she sent us multiple questionnaires for us to fill out with all our wedding details and preferences, and it included many things we wouldn't have even thought about. She came up with our wedding timeline which was very detailed so we were very prepared for what to expect over the wedding weekend, and provided it to all of the vendors. Kim from Mary Bell's team was our actual day-of coordinator (and Katie her assistant). She ran the rehearsal very efficiently and effectively so it went very smoothly at the actual ceremony. On the day of, the wedding went just perfectly with no major issues or drama, and I didn't actually feel that nervous since there was nothing to worry about with everything planned and knowing that Kim and Katie were there to help. Without Mary Bell our wedding would not have turned out so perfectly and we're so glad to have had her as our planner!

Mary Bell Events made planning our special day a breeze! Her organization and communication are second to none. She ensured every detail went off perfectly. Working with Mary made the planning process fun! I only became more impressed with her after meeting her face-to-face for the first time on our wedding day. She came in and handled all of the setup and take down to ensure we had nothing to worry about. The personal touches she provided made us feel like she was planning something for her own family. Mary went far above the role of a coordinator when she diligently searched for and found a FIVE leaf clover to commemorate our day (my special sentimental piece on my bouquet was a clover from my grandparents that are no longer with us). Mary did not just plan our wedding (which she did a fantastic job at doing), but she genuinely cared for us along every step of the way and that shined through in the final product of our day. I truly could not ask for more!

Choosing to work with Mary Bell Events (MBE) was the best decision my mom, my husband, and I could have made. Although my parents spend half the year in Asheville, none of us are locals. The BEST decision that you could make in planning a wedding in Western North Carolina is to hire Mary Bell Events. My daughter was married at Deerpark at the Biltmore Estate in May 2024. Mary and her team are professionals – their planning and execution of my daughter’s wedding was flawless. Mary Bell covered all the details (vendors, photography, timeline, music, décor) so that we did not have to stress over anything. I enjoyed “being a guest” at our event because Mary Bell and her #1 team member Katie Garnett had planned out every detail and made certain it was delivered. And, I mean every single detail. Mary Bell Events was “on it” from the big picture to the smallest items. From the time that we began working with Mary and in the months before my daughter’s wedding, I realized that Mary Bell “knows everyone” (vendors and catering staff at Biltmore) important to a wedding event and that “everyone” enjoys working with her company. ALL the vendors that Mary recommended to us (band, transportation, floral, hike and catering companies for guest activity, hair and makeup artist) were excellent. The catering team at Biltmore knew Mary and Katie and they worked together seamlessly. I cannot stress enough that Mary has a network of superior vendors that are essential to hosting a beautiful wedding and reception and each of the vendors from Mary’s network of contracts that we hired “brought their A game” for my daughter’s wedding. Also, Mary Bell did not push us to hire the most expensive vendors – she was respectful of our budget and recommended a list of vendors with a range of pricing and we made the selections. Mary advised us what it was important to spend money on and what wasn’t. For anyone planning a wedding, this type of advice is invaluable. Also, if you are considering not hiring a wedding planner to save money, I suggest you re-think this idea. Mary Bell’s services and access to her network of vendors were well worth her reasonable contract charges. There are so many details involved in wedding planning – having a professional in charge is key to hosting an event that is beautiful, unique, fun, memorable and stress-free. Both Mary and Katie are very creative and they had wonderful ideas and worked with us on the décor (florals, lighting, linens, table placement) that made the evening beautiful. (For context, the ceremony was in the Lodge Room at Deerpark, the cocktail hour and reception were outside in the Deerpark courtyard under a clear, lighted tent and dinner was inside Deerpark). In addition, Mary and Katie were both fun to work with – they did their job but they also made the planning easy and enjoyable. They were enthusiastic and confident throughout the planning process which allowed us to enjoy the experience. In planning my daughter’s wedding, Mary was super organized and she covered all the details in the months before the wedding – nothing was overlooked or forgotten. The timeline planning document that Mary and her team created was unbelievable, and even more unbelievable is the fact that it was executed perfectly. On the night of the event, Katie was in charge and she did a great job. From the start with the line-up for the walk down the aisle to the last guest leaving the reception, Katie managed all aspects of the evening as planned in an unobtrusive way. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was really fun. Many guests (who traveled from Los Angeles and NYC to attend) have contacted me and the groom’s parents to say how much they enjoyed the wedding and reception. I also would like to add that it was easy to communicate with Mary – she answered emails and calls promptly, and our several meetings at the venue were organized and productive. I did not feel at any time that Mary was “too busy” with other clients to respond to me or my daughter. As soon as we were in contract with Mary Bell Events, Mary started working for us and she continued a high level of commitment until the conclusion of our event. In sum, Mary Bell Events has the experience, creativity, contacts and commitment to assist you in hosting an exceptional wedding event in Western North Carolina. In my opinion, Mary Bell is THE wedding planner to hire. If it were possible to give Mary Bell Events “10 Stars” – I would do it.
We booked Mary Bell full services about a year before the wedding. May Bell truly helped easy the wedding planning process by providing timelines, vendors and being extremely accessible. My friends couldn't get over the incredible florals but are also repeatedly talking about the finer details like the elegant and well coordinated linens, the inclusive and unique items in the welcome boxes. The way the lighting played off the tent as the evening progressed. The fabulous ice sculpture and Lightning jersey instead of a guest book. How gorgeous the seating chart was and how beautifully it matched the invitation. The flower wall, every single detail. the day of the wedding Mary was there every step of the way to make sure we knew the timeline, all of our bridal party and guests were aware as well. Leading up to my wedding date I remember my friends telling me I would feel stress with last minute planning. While there were some things to do, Mary and her team made sure to handle most things and to make sure I relaxed up until the wedding and that they would handle it all and I knew it was in good hands. If you are looking for a wedding planner I cannot recommend Mary Bell events enough as I know they will help make your day the most perfect and special day and every detail and dream you had will become a reality.

When my now-husband and I decided to get married in Asheville, though we live in Florida, I knew that we needed to find a great wedding planner who would help us from start to finish. I found Mary Bell on a wedding vendor search site - she was the first one I saw and I sent a request that day and had signed a contract by the end of the week!
From the very first call, Mary Bell made me feel like the most special bride in the world and assured me that everything I was hoping to include in our wedding was doable. Her friendliness, professionalism, and expertise are unparalleled.
Mary and her team answered every question we had quickly, professionally, and kindly. She was a wealth of information, always quick to offer advice and guidance, and recommended an amazing vendor team that made our wedding day the best day ever. It would not have been the same without them! I can be a bit OCD and pride myself on my organizational skills, and Mary kept me grounded and validated my feelings every time I emailed to make sure I wasn’t behind on anything or forgetting something big. She made the process stress-free 100% of the way.
We had Katie come with us to our tasting, and we all immediately clicked and were so happy when our request to have her as our day-of coordinator was granted! Katie helped us see our “vision” in an empty ballroom and helped us make the decisions that were right for us. Mary and Katie created a fantastic day-of timeline for us, and Lindsay made a great timeline of the ceremony, too.

MBE was amazing! I cannot recommend them enough. I got married at the Grove Park Inn and chose one of the lesser known wedding locations on site and was a little nervous about the flow of the day, but they had timeline worked out perfectly so everything felt natural. As someone that gets stressed easily, Mary & her team made wedding planning actually enjoyable. Mary has so much expertise and really knows her vendors and who to recommend based off your style. Whenever I had a question she was quick to respond and offer me suggestions or different ideas.

The best decision I made when starting to plan my wedding was hiring Mary. She made wedding planning as stress free as possible and was so on top of everything. From our initial intro call to the wedding day, MBE has been nothing less than perfection. She is kind, smart, helpful, and direct which is incredibly helpful in navigating planning a wedding and etiquette as I had never done that before. We were not local, and Mary was instrumental in helping direct us to other vendors who fit our vision and budget. We would not have found the perfect team without her!
Mary is also a great communicator, keeps you on track, and anticipates questions and your next move. I am very type A, and needed someone on top of it and that I could trust, and Mary was a wonderful partner. She answered every random email, helped me navigate tricky situations, and was great with coordinating with our other vendors.
Mary also pulled together the most helpful document of a timeline that included every single detail for the weekend from leaving our home in DC to concluding our wedding weekend. I got engaged in late August and by the second week in September, we chose Asheville as the location and Mary Bell as the planner. At this time, we were looking at two venues and Mary Bell had a lot of experience at both. We decided on the front lawn at the Biltmore in April 2022 (a short 7 months away) and with Mary's knowledge of the venue and her direction, the execution was flawless. Being an out of town wedding (I live in Texas), we needed all of her support with planning. I also had no idea what I wanted and she helped bring some direction. I made an inspiration board that only included ~12 pictures and from this, she was able to give me the best vendor options to make this vision a reality and was also able to answer any questions I had in my selection process. As we got closer to the wedding, she created a very detailed timeline that all the vendors were aware of. The logistics of having a Biltmore wedding and even more so, on the front lawn, are very intricate and you really need someone with extensive knowledge like Mary to make sure everything runs smoothly. The wedding day went seamlessly and she was very attentive to the needs of my now husband and I making sure we had everything we needed, from support, to food and drinks-- and letting us what was needed of us from time to time to keep things moving along-- so all my husband and I needed to do was enjoy ourselves the entire wedding. Our wedding could not be the same without Mary/her team and it was nothing less than perfect, which I imagine is very hard to accomplish for many.

I am not one for writing reviews, but MBE is most deserving of one. Mary Bell Events was not only a pleasure to work with but they provided excellent ideas and concepts we implemented into our big day in December of 2021. To make a long story short, after complications and disorganization of the venue, MBE essentially had to scrap months of work to help plan a wedding in 10 days. Working together we were able to sort out all vendors, negotiate removal costs and fees, and still provide the perfect day for my wife. Mary, herself, even changed her plans that day to attend our wedding to ensure all the changes were implemented and went smoothly. I named this review Move-Maker because that's exactly what MBE does. We knew we needed help planning a destination wedding in the midst of a pandemic we hoped would be long gone before our December 2021 wedding date, and we’re so glad we found Mary. Mary Bell and her team were the backbone of our wedding from day one. She was the first vendor we hired, and she was instrumental in creating the perfect, stress-free, truly “us” wedding day we had always imagined. Mary Bell actually planned two weddings for my daughter, since the original date was moved only 1 month out due to Covid. When we made the decision to change the date, Mary went to work securing the date with our vendors, and only one vendor was already booked, therefore, we only lost one deposit. Talk about relieved! Mary Bell Events has a variety of packages to choose from. Since we were planning from FL for our NC wedding, we went with the Magnolia package, which is almost full service. Let me tell you, it was worth EVERY single penny. I would have not made it through planning through planning through a pandemic without Mary. While we started well before the pandemic hit, she was still such a blessing to us. She helped us find our perfect venue (Inn at Tranquility farm, BEAUTIFUL), our PERFECT vendors, and just had everything in a process with deadlines, so that I would not get overwhelmed. From the beginning to the end, she was such a gem to work with. She felt like family by wedding day. One piece of advice I would give any bride, is trust your planner. They are the experts, they do this all day every day, and most for plenty of years. Lean on them, that's what they are there for. I knew that when I needed to worry, Mary would let me know it was time to worry, during this pandemic. She is patient, kind, respectful and just truly a joy to work with. Hiring a wedding planner was not something that was my idea. My mom insisted on it, since I didn't live in the area at the time, and she wanted to be able to fully enjoy the day without worrying.
