I got engaged in June 2021. I went dress shopping July 2021- getting married in November 2022. I visited two bridal shops in Savannah GA. I found one at both, I went with the one from Mary Elizabeth’s Bridal because it was more in my price range. The other shop was just a couple hundred more. I should have paid the extra money. I paid for the dress in full in July 2021- called in December because I had yet to hear anything and was told it hadn’t even been ordered yet and wouldn’t be until March. (Per an employee) I stated that is not what I was told when I purchased the dress and asked her to have the owner call me. I waited a couple of days and never received a call from the owner. I called back up to the shop and was then provided her cell number to reach her. So I called the owner- Emily, spoke to her and she said the dress was in fact ordered and should be arriving soon. Well I waited a couple of weeks and still nothing. I called the owner Emily back and she ignored my calls. I then get my mother to call to see if she was ignoring my number and it turns out she was. We explained our concerns and asked that she keep us in the loop because we have heard of some bad practices from her. She informs my mother that my dress is in- they didn’t let me know. We go up later that week/weekend to pick up my dress in Savannah GA- get there and the shop is gone, looks like they were never there. So I call Emily to ask if they had moved. She forwarded my call knowing I had an appointment to get my dress. I then get my mother to call her again and she answers. They had moved to Valdosta and didn’t tell us! We are 2 hours from home to get my dress and Valdosta was another 2-3 hours from Savannah. That would have been us driving 5 hours one way, 3 hours back home so a total of 8 hours in one day to get my dress. We go back home, plan to go the following weekend to Valdosta to get my dress- I go to get my dress, text Emily tell her we are on the way to Valdosta to verify that we are going to the right location. Receive a text back- *keep in mind I’ve never met Emily throughout my whole experience, she’s never been at the shop while I was* she states she won’t be there but my dress will and the seamstress who helped me try on dresses will be there to give me my dress. I get there and try on the dress and it doesn’t even feel right on me anymore. This shop completely ruined my dress shopping experience. If I could give any advice to future brides looking for a dress it would be to steer clear of this “bridal shop”.
{side note: I was also told I would receive a custom maid veil tailored to my dress, the veil was tule on a comb and that was it- no beading, no glitter, no pearls- nothing but plain tule}
Please do your research before going dress shopping- no bride should have to go through an experience like this. It is suppose to be a joyful experience, there is already enough stress going on for a wedding- this shouldn’t be the most stressful thing.
Congratulations to the new brides to be ✨
Do NOT use this shop for your bridal needs. I wish I could give 0 stars. This shop was MORE than eager to take my money in November 2021 for a bridesmaid dress order for a wedding in May 2022. They were easy to get in contact with until they took my money.
For those of you that want the short story, after weeks and weeks of no answers to my phone calls, emails, and stating I would dispute the credit card charge, I was told my dress was finally in the mail. However, I was sent an old, used, stained, smelling of perfume dress of the wrong color. It arrived in a plain, plastic cover bag. There were no purchase tags on the dress. In fact, a tag from the inside was cut out; that I am betting displays the size, color, etc. or perhaps that it is a sample dress.
Here is the long story. Once the other bridesmaids received their dresses in early March (a new dress WITH TAGS in a Mori Lee bag), I tried to call the shop to question where my dress was. It took dozens of calls and several emails from myself and the bride to get a response. They do not answer the phone nor reply to emails. Their voicemail kept saying it was full so I could not leave a message. When the bride finally got someone to answer the phone, she was told to tell me to check my email. I did and got a response from the owner, Emily, on 3/24/22 stating she would check on the status of my dress. After a week with no reply, we kept calling and emailing. Finally, I got an email reply on 4/10/22 that the dress would be arriving to her that week and she would send me tracking information. On 4/18/22, when I did not receive tracking information or any contact, I stated I would be disputing the credit card charge within 72 hours. Suddenly, within 48 hours she texts me. She stated she has been experiencing shipping delays from every company. She stated that if the dress did not arrive from Mori Lee by Friday, that she would use fabric in the store to make the exact dress to send to me. Huh? I called Mori Lee myself and the distributor stated they have fulfilled all orders to her shop and that nothing was pending. That is all they were allowed to tell me legally. It is clear that my dress was not ordered or they received it and sold it to someone else. Either way, this shop should have owned up to their mistake and shown some integrity. Instead she said she “does not want to get into an argument about charge backs,” does not refund my money, and sends me an old, used, stained dress of the wrong color. This shop should be ashamed of sending someone a dress like this hoping they will not notice as well as for all the stress they have caused myself and the bride. I now have no bridesmaid dress to wear as the wedding is 3 weeks away.
Was able to find a beautiful dress and my amazing seamstress with Mary Elizabeth's.
Lindsey was incredibly helpful during the entire process. I knew I had a quick turnaround time, but she was able to work with me to get my dream dress. Alterations were simple, but cutting it close to my wedding day. Despite a last minute mistake, she got everything fixed and even delivered my dress to the wedding location. I appreciate the service and the dress was amazing!
Such a fun and unique place to find a wedding dress. The entire experience of finding my dress, having alterations done, and picking it up was great. Such friendly staff with expert tips for wedding day. Couldn’t have gotten married without them!
TERRIBLE experience and TERRIBLE customer service. I would never recommend this bridal shop to anyone, but especially a bride!!!
I ordered my wedding dress back in October 2019 thinking it gave me plenty of time before my September 2020 wedding. After trying it on for the first time, it was 4 inches too short!!! That was the length a sales associate at Mary Elizabeth's told me I should order based on my measurements... little did I know, I could have gotten better advice from Google. After being extremely upset about this issue, I called the shop thinking that my dress must have been made incorrectly to be this off. I spoke with the store manager, Lindsey, who was extremely rude right off the bat, never once apologized, and just kept telling me that this issue was impossible, on top of more that I couldn't make out because she was mumbling it under her breath. Lindsey was supposed to leave a message for the owner to call me, and after 3 more weeks of not hearing anything and leaving multiple messages at the store (because they never answer their phone), I finally heard back from the owner, Emily. Who again, was never apologetic, but at least willing to help unlike the store manager.
Emily told me to ship the dress back to the store since I live out of state, and that they had another dress in my (correct) size and length ready to be shipped right back to me upon recieving the original dress. Turns out that was all "misinformation" I was given.
It took me a ton of calls, emails, sending my sister to the store in person, filing a complaint to the BBB, and threatening legal action, until I FINALLY recieved my dress (mid July) with less then 2 months until my wedding. What a nightmare for a bride!
This shop clearly does NOT value its customers and is just looking to make a quick sale. I have never seen such fake southern charm in my life.
This is NOT the same Mary Elizabeth's Bridal as in years past. Do NOT waste your money and your sanity shopping here. If we knew that the new team there could care less about their brides, I would have never recommended that my sister try on dresses there. But alas, she found the one and we couldn't have been happier for her. Fast forward to picking up and trying on the dress. My sister lived in North Carolina and since I'm local, I picked up the dress for her. I visited, she tried it on, and something was off. The dress was so short that you could see her feet! Obviously this will not work with any sort of shoe whatsoever… You could see her feet barefoot! There was panic and she immediately contacted the store that there was something wrong with the length of this dress. We looked up how to measure a dress' length and sure enough, this dress was not the correct length. Now she was moving to Indianapolis in a couple of weeks and we needed to know what the course of action would be. Mary Elizabeth's is SLOW AS MOLASSES replying to messages. In fact, you need to leave several voicemails and e-mails, and eventually just keep calling until someone picks up in order for them to talk to you. Then they will say that this is the owner's responsibility, they will tell her that you called, and she'll get back to you. This goes on for weeks. We FINALLY got some good news that the manufacturer had another dress in her size ready to ship. They just needed the old dress back first. My sister was living in Indiana at this point and paid for shipping (some $70+, which could have been avoided had they told her before she moved) and a few days later could see that the dress had gotten back to Mary Elizabeth's. She reached out for confirmation and to get the tracking information on the new dress. They kept saying, "We're waiting on the old dress and then we'll send the new dress," when she could see that they had already received the old dress. Eventually they confirmed they got the old dress, but said nothing about sending the new dress. After a couple more weeks go by, more e-mails and calls ignored, and my sister is no longer sleeping at this point, I go to the shop in person. They were very rude saying things like, "I don't know why you're confused" and "you're making this more complicated than this needs to be." We're confused because you say that you received the old dress but can't give us the tracking information on the new dress. I've come to get the new dress. "We shipped that out already." But again, they couldn't provide the tracking information as that was "the owner's responsibility, we'll tell her you called, have a nice day." I got the owner's direct contact information. My sister called the owner and the owner told her that they had been waiting on her address. This was after I was just at the shop and they told me that the dress was already sent and my sister had provided her address countless times by now. To sum up the review of this shop: they are sassy, ungrateful, unorganized, act like they are never in the wrong, and make you feel like you are a burden instead of doing everything they can to make sure things are stress-free for the day that is supposed to be the best day of your life. After reading other reviews, we are lucky that we even received the new dress, and are glad that we never have to do business with Mary Elizabeth's again.
My sisters wedding was June 27th and it was an elopement so we needed to find bridesmaid dresses in a pinch. On may 1st we went to Mary Elizabeth’s to try dresses on. We went back and payed in cash for the dresses on may 2nd and were GUARANTEED we’d receive them by end of may since we made sure to order ones that were in stock. After handing over the cash we were informed we’d get a text once they shipped. Once June came around and we’d gotten absolutely no update we called. That was the first time we called and when she answered I was informed she was with a customer and would call me back.. that was on a Saturday morning and I did not receive a call back. Wednesday morning came around and I called them back and was informed “they were on the last quality check before being sent out”. This was the first week of June. We tried calling several other times asking for updates and no response. After several missed calls and a wedding two weeks away we decided to get new dresses. We left messages saying how we wanted to discuss a refund and finally when I was called back they acted as if they had not listened to the voicemails and said “hey how can I help you” and then acted Shocked when I asked for a refund and said she needed to talk with the owner. Several days later she called again after I once again had to leave a voicemail and said “how can I help you” ONCE AGAIN as if she had no clue why I needed to talk. She then informed me since we signed the “contract” we would not be getting a refund even though the dresses got here the Wednesday before the wedding and still would need alterations making it almost impossible to be ready by that Saturday. My fiancé requested to talk with the owner and she had absolutely no sympathy and just kept repeating how we signed the contract and knew it was a tight timeline. We would have NEVER signed the contract if we hadn’t been told it would be there end of may. If communication had been better we could have tried making the right timeline work but there was absolutely no updates except for the “almost done being inspected” and then the Wednesday before the wedding us trying to get a refund and them informing me that they had come in. NO TEXT SAYING THEY HAD SHIPPED! I finally went and picked up the dresses last week and the slip of paper said they were delivered on the 19th that means they waited till the next week to even inform us they had gotten there and claim on the paper that they had called us to tell us they were there which is just a lie. The customer service here is terrible and the lies are just absolutely intolerable. I never write reviews but I’m honestly just so disappointed with this business that I had to say something. The three of us are now out $150 each for dresses that will just sit in our closet. They could have EASILY resold these and kept our business but instead I will tell everyone if they need a wedding dress to go to ivory and beau or bluebell over a place that treats their customers this way.
I had the best experience at Mary Elizabeth’s! Najee and Nikki were absolutely incredible and so honest and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! My dress was stunning and exactly what I was looking for.
The whole team at Mary Elizabeth’s, Valdosta, made our experience so pleasant! My dress was magical!! I would definitely recommend anyone in the market for a wedding dress to give them a look!
I highly recommend Mary Elizabeth's Bridal! I found my dream dress and it was an amazing price. Every dress that I tried on was beautiful and looked much more expensive than they were. The girls were very helpful and I was able to find all of my accessories at the shop as well!
Emily and her staff made my dress choosing and buying process so easy! They made me feel special every time I walked in the door of the shop. She went out of her way to make sure my dress fit correctly and that it was ready in time for my wedding, even going as far as to meet me at the shop after hours one night. If I had to do everything over, I would definitely choose Mary Elizabeth's for my dress again!
I am recently engaged and had two members of bridal party who live super far away in town. We wanted to try on some dresses because this is the only time we’d all be together until essentially bachelorette party. I had 30 minutes. 6 dresses later, I am in love with this establishment!! Emily was so fast, and still above and beyond any other store we’d been to in last two days. She was engaging, she didn’t ask generic questions, she figured on my style more than I did like immediately. 30 minute visit y’all. ALSO they have a CUSTOM ACCESSORY DESIGNER IN HOUSE! All the nice things, I will definitely be back and I will rave to anyone who will listen.
Great customer service. I am the bride and one of my bridesmaids is currently deployed and ordered her dress from here when she was on leave. Long story short, a week before my wedding her dress still didn’t arrive and when checked on, the manufacturer lost her dress! I was so stressed out because without her here and me not in GA, I had no idea how to fix it. Let me be clear that Mary Elizabeths did not lose her dress, but the manufacturer did. Anyway, if it wasn’t for the staff and owners of Mary Elizabeths, this would have been a disaster! They wound up finding her dress and overnighting it but if it wasn’t found, Jessica helped me all day on the phone sending me other options in her color and size and additional colors (they’re all in mismatched dress colors) that could possibly work with my color scheme. The point of this review is that stuff happens sometimes and sometimes out of yours and the businesses control. I would rather have a hiccup happen with a dedicated staff to fix it rather than anywhere else where they just don’t go the extra mile to help you out. A disaster anywhere else but the staff here turned the disaster stress into a problem solved! So, if anything were to happen with your dress- at least you can feel confident that Mary Elizabeths staff will make sure the problem is fixed and you’re happy and you’re not stressed about it. Thank you so much for your customer support and excellent customer service!!
Definitely the best bridal shop in Savannah! Great selection and service. The staff was so helpful and not pushy! Finding my dress was a fun, stress free experience, I highly recommend making an appointment with them!
Jessica and Emily are wonderful!! They were extremely helpful when I casually walked in one Friday just browsing for dresses. They did not pressure me at all or make me feel obligated to buy anything that day. However, their dresses are stunning so I just knew I would find my dream dress! After trying on the third dress I pulled,I knew I had found my perfect wedding dress! This was by far the easiest, most stress free experience I have ever had, and I owe it all to these two fabulous gals!!
Amazing support and very insightful on what I was looking for ! I cannot believe how reasonably priced they are. I was able to come in under budget with exactly what I wanted !! And I love that they were so genuine and actually took the time to get to know me!
I had the best experience at Mary Elizabeth’s! Not only was the dress selection excellent, but so was the service. The girls were so helpful and knowledgeable! This bridal shop is a must for anyone in search of the perfect dress and/or accessories!
I'm an out of town bride, and Mary Elizabeth's was easily the best bridal experience I had in Savannah. I was in town for a long weekend with my mother, my aunt and my maid of honor in hopes of finding THE dress. Mary Elizabeth's was our third bridal shop of the trip, and by far my favorite experience. The shop is tucked away downtown (it has a parking lot!!) and is dripping with southern charm. We felt welcome and at home from the moment we walked through the doors. When they book bridal appointments they try to make sure you're the ONLY ones in the salon so you can really let loose and have their full attention. All of the dresses they carry are under $2.2K which, luckily for me, were all in my budget - so the girls had free reign of the store to pick and choose their favorites without worrying about accidentally choosing a dress that would blow the budget. Jessica and Emily were AMAZING to work with; they really listened to what we were looking for, made sure we tried and ruled out everything, and they even knew when I found "the one" before I did!!
Added bonus - they have a dedicated accessory designer in store, and she was there during my appointment to talk about custom veils, belts and accessories. This salon really checked off on everything - they even partner with a menswear company so you can do everything all in one stop!! I'm in LOVE with my dress, and can't wait to go back to try it on, and hang out with these amazing ladies again. We had such an amazing experience that my maid of honor is going to make a special trip to Savannah (she's from NC) exclusively to shop at Mary Elizabeth's for her own wedding dress!!
Never in a million years did I think I would buy my wedding dress in Savannah, GA! I was an out-of-town bride from Minneapolis on a girls' trip with my sister, mom, and aunt. We booked an appointment while on vacation and I am so happy we did! They made me feel so special as the bride-to-be and treated us all with the best southern hospitality! I am in love with my dress and even more in love with the story that came with it! Book an appointment with Jessica and Emily today! They are as fun and as beautiful as the gowns they sell! :) Thank you, Mary Elizabeth's!
Awesome customer service! The girls here were very friendly and made it seem like more than just an in and out appointment. Beautiful dresses and all were reasonably priced!
Great service and a great selection of dresses
