We worked with DJ Umang for our wedding event. The organization and planning was very easy because we communicated constantly before and during the event. The sound and lighting was above our expectations. All the music that was played during each event was timed perfectly. Our guests were very impressed with the way the whole event was planned. I would definitely recommend working with DJ Umang as I have personally worked with him.

We chose Masala Ent as the DJ service for our wedding because we decided sound and lighting would be very important to us for our wedding. We were very impressed by the organization and experience Masala brought and this made planning our wedding much easier. Despite not being local to us and our wedding venue, we were able to handle all the details for ensuring a successful wedding weekend. Because we were having a hybrid wedding combing Telugu and Tamil cultures, we were found it important in having our music reflect this too. Masala Entertainment delivered and played an excellent mix of Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English music that our guests were huge fans. We were so impressed by our DJs, Pranay and Ishan. We gave them a look at our music tastes and curated playlists of songs that were special to us and our DJs did an amazing job of sprinkling almost all of these songs throughout our wedding weekend which made our wedding so special and personalized. Besides ourselves, so many of our friends and family were huge fans: we had people crying during our wedding ceremony and people loving the variety of music during our reception. Umang and Neel did an amazing job with music and lighting for our wedding! Umang was extremely communicative and went above and beyond to help us make decisions when we felt we couldn't make them ourselves. We had a mixed Hindu ceremony and Umang was super patient with all of the requests that we had for the different types of music to be played during the ceremony. Everyone loved their music and mixes and they made the whole weekend super fun for everyone - we received multiple comments about how great the music was all weekend. We definitely recommend Masala Events for your DJ and lighting needs!

DJ Umang was amazing and would definitely recommend him for any and all events! We just told him some songs we liked and songs we did not like. Based on that alone, he immediately got our vibe and did an amazing job. We defer red timing for things like co2 cannon and cold sparks up to him and he did not disappoint! He has done a lot of weddings and his experience was very much evident. If we ever need a DJ for any other events, we will be calling him for sure!

Masala Events (specifically Umang and Pranay) were excellent DJs and MCs for our Hindu wedding in Indianapolis in March 2024, and their lighting helped create the perfect ambiance for our reception! Umang is very friendly, professional, organized and solution oriented. Umang met with us several times leading up to our ceremony and reception. He guided us through the music/lighting planning process and listened to our requests to create the right mood for our reception (e.g., we requested that the music be quieter and lighting brighter during dinner so our guests could talk to each other and see what they were eating). Umang also provided a solution to a weather and timing delay at the start of our wedding- he suggested that we move our baraat inside so guests would not be cold (our venue was large enough to accommodate such a decision), and he extended our baraat to keep things moving.

Umang and his team were amazing to work with, from the planning stage to the wedding itself. Their sound system took our welcome event to the next level. On the wedding day, they set the vibe all day. Everything was beautiful. I was more nervous about the baraat than anything else, but they did such a great job that I really enjoyed it. We had people tell us that they've never seen so many people on the dance floor for an entire reception, which is a huge testament to the Masala team, especially with a mixed Indian/American crowd. They were able to keep people on the dance floor all night, which is exactly what we wanted. They were one of the best and most professional vendors that we worked with through the whole process and we are so grateful for everything they did!

We worked with Umang who was never afraid to answer our questions and seemed to always know what we wanted! He made our vision come to life by listening and even sending us samples to confirm. When he heard I was having nerves he came and calmed me. He was flexible when we needed and everyone loved his music especially the bharat! Would highly recommend!

DJ Summit of Masala Events was assigned to our wedding and Sangeet celebrations. From day 1 of our communication to the last song of the reception, Summit was professional, engaged, communicative, calm and receptive. After the wedding, one of the comments we received from numerous guests was how good the music was and DJ Summit's transitions between songs.

The Masala Events team is wonderful to work with. We held an engagement party for our son & his fiancé in Oregon. Ahead of the event, Umang and Virag worked closely with us to figure out the equipment we would need and coordinate with a local audio and lighting company to rent everything. We had over 20 minutes of dance performance which Virag stitched together to create a custom audio track. He flew in 2 days ahead of the event to ensure everything was prepared and the event would go smoothly. Virag did an amazing job DJ'ing the night of the event and all of our guests had a fantastic time. We would highly recommend the Masala Events team. We were so happy to have them come in from out of town instead of using a local DJ for the event. It was well worth it!

Umang was our DJ and he is too good!!! He pours his heart into this and does with such a passion. He accommodated all of our requests and did such a good job as an MC as well as handling the music. He was very flexible, very reasonable and worked so well with other vendors as a team. He had all kind of music and mixed it so well. He drove the crowd and made everyone dance in no time. We were very lucky to get him.

DJ Umang was amazing as our wedding DJ! We originally had a wedding date where Umang was not available because he had a prior commitment. Due to COVID we had to postpone our wedding and he was available that weekend, so we were so relieved to book him. We have been going to weddings, he has been DJing for 10+ years and he’s always so professional and friendly. He was super flexible and willing to adjust our contracted package to cater to our scaled down COVID wedding but still bring the hype and feeling of a big wedding. He was also very inclusive of both sides of the family’s heritage and able to get traditional music for some of the more intimate parts of the ceremonies. He was super responsive to any of our requests that we had for music or add ons. We even had last minute requests from him to add on a couple hours of music for our evening event and he went above and beyond so that no one could have realized we didn’t plan it that way to begin with. Umang and his team were amazing! We had a specific idea in mind and we provided multiple extensive playlists and he managed to compose a mix that fit each occasion perfectly. The baraat went wonderfully, it was so fun! Our guests couldn’t wait for the evening. The ceremony was also great- he played the right songs without prompting and it was really beautiful, he was able to control the volume perfectly so the pujari was never being over-shadowed. The attentiveness from Umang and his team was exceptional and exactly what we wanted. They read the room perfectly during every occasion. He also provided a plethora of add on options to give us a unique experience. We couldn’t have imaged a better music experience for our wedding! I can't recommend Masala Events highly enough. From the very beginning, DJ Umang made planning the music for our wedding both easy and fun. He helped us plan the music for our ceremony and reception and made that our timeline ran smoothly. When we weren't sure what to choose, DJ Umang helped us to fill in the gaps and gave us feedback on what has worked and not worked for other couples in the past. DJ Umang was also an incredible MC for our wedding reception. He created an amazing playlist that kept both our American and Indian families dancing all night. Our dance floor was never empty and our guests are still talking about how much fun they had! Masala Events was very professional and prepared and helped to take a lot of stress out of our wedding day!

Masala Events recently dj'd + mc'd our Indian fusion wedding. It was a 2.5 day event and Umang and his crew covered everything: Mehndi Night, Baraat, Hindu Ceremony, Sangeet, traditional western ceremony, and western reception. Umang and his team did an AWESOME job with everything. The songs were always on queue for our pre-planned dances, our slideshow/video went smoothly, very few technical issues, and overall a great flow of music with a good mixture of Bollywood + mainstream music. Umang even helped us put together the slideshow and mix our songs the Sangeet dances. Personally my favorite part was the Baraat. He didn't just throw down a playlist....he actively dj'd a show from the back of his truck while we processed to the the venue. He has a talent for mixing songs together seamlessly and put together an impressive medley of both Bollywood + mainstream pop music. His dhol drummer Simer is outstanding as well...both on his own and playing along to whatever music was on. I can't recommend this crew enough, regardless of what type of wedding you're planning. First rate experience from start to finish.

Umang and his team were excellent. Planning through the pandemic was not easy, but it never felt like that with Masala Events. Umang was super flexible with us and provided great insight to help our wedding events feel more lively. The music choice, the lighting, and the extra bits made the event extremely enjoyable for our guests. All of our guests gave us rave reviews for the music and lighting.

Best decision we made for our sangeet and for our wedding. Umang combined professionalism with a personal touch. He was flexible and worked around our schedules to set up virtual meetings in order to create a timeline for both the sangeet and the wedding. He communicated with our venue co-ordinators and vendors to ensure events flowed seamlessly. We were keen on having sound tracks with dhol for the baarat and he surprised us by bringing along a dhol for the baarat and playing it...just one example of the many ways in which he went above and beyond. He functioned as the master of ceremonies (MC) for our events. Family that could not join us had sent video messages and wishes for us to be played during the ceremony. Umang and his team fixed files that were not playing properly and ensured the wedding day went so smoothly that we only became aware that they had even encountered these issues after the ceremonies when family members praised all the work the Masala Events team put into fixing the files. As requested, Umang gave short descriptions of the rituals for the benefit of guests who were not familiar with an Indian wedding. We had a blast on the dance floor thanks to his team's extensive music collection and ability to read a room and keep the party going. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

The best decision we could have made having Masala Events involved with our wedding. They made the wedding beyond exceptional!!!! It would not have been what it was if it wasn't for them. The Dhol, music, and technical expertise of there's was the focal point of our wedding. We had our wedding during COVID and it would not have happened without their technical and professional expertise! Our wedding requirements were very complex but these guys made it look effortless! They went above and beyond! These guys should definitely be a first choice without question if you want your wedding to be spectacular!

As the creative music juices started to flow we couldn’t wait to collaborate with him on our Sangeet, Wedding Ceremony, and Reception. My husband and I are huge music lovers and we have a very eclectic taste and Umang was able to capture all of that throughout our entire weekend. It was a mix between chill EDM, Bollywood hits, and pop music – keeping people on the dance floor all night! My feet hurt for 3 weeks after the wedding because we danced so much! The attention to detail and the charismatic way Umang puts his spin on everything made us feel like he wasn’t just a DJ but that he really took the time to get to know us as a couple and helped created a magical weekend. Now that you know the music is on point lets talk about the ambiance of a wedding – its all about the mood lighting and that is where Masala Entertainment created a custom package of lighting for us – as we entered our reception our mouths dropped as the entire room felt like a fairy tale with soft pinks and highlights of gold. Our guests gasped upon entering at how elegant the room looked!! With the challenges of Covid – almost all of our meetings were held via Google Chat which was okay since their booking system for songs, lighting, and additional details makes it so easy for the bride and groom to update in live time essentially making conversations go smoothly. All in all if you want more details I am happy to share but the smile on our faces from our Sangeet night shows how truly happy we were to book Masala Entertainment!

Masala Entertainment was a huge success at our wedding! Umang was so easy to communicate with and made our whole process much easier. Umang and the rest of the Masala Ent. crew did a fantastic job at our Indian wedding functions. They were helpful and responsive and really help us figure out the "mood and vibe" of the different events. The music they played was a perfect mix of Western and Indian hits, and the playlists varied from one night to the next. I opted for the extra sound reinforcement and I'm glad I did - I felt like I was at the club! Great job, guys!

These guys did a great job at our wedding. We used them for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music. Apurva was always prompt to respond to my emails, and a pleasure to work with. Their setup is very nice, we were impressed. They made sure they had all of the music we wanted, and everyone had a great time, the dance floor was packed the whole night!
