Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro

Mason Dixon did my big wedding at the end of July and their food was amazing! They were such a joy to work with to bring the vision for our stations together and gave expert advice. Through out the night my guest would come up to me and exclaim how good they felt and how they were shocked that all the food was gluten free!

My husband and I used Mason Dixon for our wedding this past Saturday and would highly recommend them! Ashley was so helpful throughout the entire process! Mason Dixon has great communication and were always on time. We never once stressed about food on the day of. The appetizers, buffet and cake were all amazing!! The tables were set perfectly. The day of staff were so kind, courteous, and friendly to not only my husband and I, but all of our guests as well. Our guests have constantly raved about the food!

THE BEST FOOD! I am so happy we decided to hire Mason Dixon for our rehearsal dinner and my only regret was also not hiring them to cater our wedding dinner. They had the most amazing braised short rib and boursin mash potatoes. They also had amazing cupcakes at the rehearsal. We also hired them to do a dessert bar at our wedding and all of our guests LOVED it. Mason Dixon was so easy to work with and so prepared for our event. I never had to second guess if they had everything together. I cannot recommend them enough. We had a rehearsal for 80 people and they served it PERFECTLY.

The food was amazing and the service was wonder. The process of getting an appointment, to taste testing and finally the big day was so easy! Everyone keeps talking about how wonderful our food was. I recommend them for all the catering needs gluten free or not!

We have been to both their old and new locations a number of times and the food never disappoints. Whether you’re gluten free or not, the menu is always excellent and you’d never know you were eating GF. We recently used Mason Dixon for the catering at our daughter’s wedding and the food was truly spectacular! Can’t say enough about how easy it was to work with their catering staff, how friendly they were at the event, and how great the food was. We received nothing but great comments from the guests as well. Highly recommend eating there and if you need catering, give them a call as well.

Mason Dixon was outstanding! Our experience with Ashely and her team was one of our favorites during the wedding planning process. From our phone calls, tasting, more phone calls, and the day of our wedding, we received exceptional service and professionalism. Throughout our reception numerous guests raved about the food and our wedding cake was a total knock out. Luckily we each took one bite after we cut the cake because there was none left afterward. Food and beverage service is such a big component to any wedding or event and Mason Dixon covered every detail and created a memorable experience for us and our guests!!

Ashley and her staff at Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro were absolutely wonderful. They were responsive, organized, and paid close attention to every detail. The food and cake were not only delicious but also beautiful to look at. The staff was very attentive to my husband and me during our wedding reception to the point where we did not even have to leave our seats for the buffet. They even packaged up all the remaining food so my family could enjoy it the next day. I cannot recommend them enough!

Ashley is one talented chef! She was able to work within our budget. All of the food and desserts were so tasty that our guests were going back for seconds and thirds. Our guests were so surprised that all the food was gluten free, which got them to rave about the food even more. Food was a very important part of our wedding (I work in restaurants in New York and have a high standards) and Mason Dixon is truly one of the best in the business.

Ashley at Mason Dixon was GREAT to work with! From the very first phone call I made inquiring about their services to the day of the wedding Ashley was so helpful and very responsive. The tasting was great and again Ashley was very helpful and informative and the food was AMAZING! On the day of the wedding, they were on time and had everything set up and ready as we had discussed. The tray passed appetizers came out as soon as the wedding was over and the guests raved about them! The buffet not only looked great but the food was DELISH! The staff cut and served the cakes, they bussed the tables and made the reception perfect!! I can't say enough good things about Ashley and her staff! 10/10 would recommend!

Holy wow, Ashley and the entire team at Mason Dixon is absolutely amazing! They did our food, cake/cupcakes, and bartending and made it so seamless and easy for us! They even decorate your food and cake tables, with just a few notes from us about our decor they were able to make the food fit right in and look like a beautiful piece of art. Oh, and did I mention everything they make is DELICIOUS?? We've had guests commenting on the food since our wedding day and telling us how fun and tasty it was! We even went to the cafe multiple times leading up to the wedding for lunch because we couldn't get enough! We truly loved working with them, they made the whole process from initial tasting to reception very smooth and easy, and everything truly was so good. If you want some show stopping eats for your wedding reception, look no further than Mason Dixon!!

Ashley and her team were great! Very kind and professional. She provided the food for my reception and it was delicious. She decorated & provided tablecloths for the buffet tables. She also served the cake to my guests even though I used another vender and i was able to use her cake & cupcake stands. They packed up the leftover food for us & helped with breakdown. Ashley is fabulous! Very professional and is great in communication. We were able to get the food and tablecloths from her. Rave comments on food. It was sooo good. Donna did a great job too and we even got some leftovers to enjoy. I can’t recommend Mason Dixon enough. They rock! So happy we chose them!

Mason Dixon did the happy hour, reception food, and cake! They managed the bar and served guests in the buffet line. they set the table, provided chargers, plates, and silverware. The food was amazing!!! We had a charcuterie set up for the Happy hour. For the reception we had Greek chicken, flank steak, mashed potato bar, spring veggies, and a Mason Dixon take on a caprese salad. Everyone said it was the best wedding food they've ever had! For the Cake! We did a naked cake with 3 different layers. One was almond cake with Biscotti butter cream, one was lavender cake with lemon butter cream, and one was lemon cake with lemon butter cream. We also had a dessert table with cheesecake bites, chocolate covered strawberries, orange creamsicle mini cupcakes, and mint chocolate mini cupcakes. I highly recommend Mason Dixon for your wedding and events!

When you have an event in a city in a state different from that in which you live, there are anxieties simply because you cannot know for sure that you are hiring the right people and booking the right venue for the event. That was the case with our wedding rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding on April 17. Being responsible for the rehearsal dinner and knowing virtually nothing about the process was stressful enough without being 200 miles away. Fortunately, I stumbled upon Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro! We had talked to a few caterers and were looking for one to provide a gluten free dessert option. Mason Dixon is completely gluten free and offers other diet-specific options as well. Ashley and Donna very quickly put my mind at ease. A prompt response from Donna to an email request from The Knot website and I had a meeting set up for an upcoming visit to Huntsville. Upon meeting Ashley, I was thrilled with her enthusiasm and genuine interest in our event and our excitement for it. I had a checklist of "questions to ask your caterer." I didn't need it because Ashley answered most of them without my asking. She anticipated needs and questions. The menu for the rehearsal dinner was designed to our tastes and that of the bride and groom. We had a tasting of the full menu in advance. We were pleasantly surprised at the gluten free bread and desserts! Most of the guests would have no idea they were gluten free! When we arrived to decorate for the event at the Lodge at Monte Sano State Park, Donna was already there setting up for the food and beverage - hours before the event. The presentation of the food was beautiful! The food itself was spectacular! The dessert bar was big hit! To say that we were pleased is an understatement. Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro exceeded our expectations! We cannot thank them enough for the outstanding service and meal that made the kick-off to the wedding weekend a huge success. While there weren't many (perhaps owing to the many guests who went back for seconds!), we did get our leftovers to take home. I will agree that there were times when I had to try several times to get in touch, but I know what work went into my event and if Ashley was putting that much work into other events, she was very busy indeed! Thank you! Thank you! To Ashley, Russ, Donna and everyone who made our event such a special one!

We got our food and cake from here and everything was absolutely delicious! Everyone was so obsessed with our cake (lavender cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate cake) and kept asking where we got them from. There were a lot of food options that we could chose from and everything was so affordable compared to bigger catering companies. The only thing I would say that was a bit frustrating was the communication. I was trying to get in touch with Ashley for about 4 months (called the bakery, left messages, emails etc. multiple times over the months) and I never got in touch with her until a few weeks before the wedding. She explained that she had personal things going on, which I 100% understand, but I really would have appreciated if she would have told me in the first place instead of making me worried that things may not go as we discussed. Also, we were never given the leftovers of the food nor the cake after the wedding. I figured it would have ended up with someone in our wedding party or one of our two day-of coordinators since we had previously discussed about leftovers (she told us that the packing of the leftovers in takeout boxes was included). I even texted her a few days after the wedding and never got a response back. We wanted the leftovers since we did pay for them and would have taken care of a couple meals so we are kind of bummed that we never got them. If it wasn't for those two things, I would give 5 stars for sure!

The food here is so good I’m still not convinced it was real. Mason Dixon catered our wedding and it was absolutely mind-blowing. Ashley was so great to work with and created a menu to fit our vibe and tastes PERFECTLY. They also did our bride and grooms’ cakes and honestly I can still taste those in our dreams. Her team handled our linens and place settings as well and we were so thrilled. There’s not a better caterer you can work with – not just Alabama, but anywhere.

My husband and I wanted a grain-free wedding reception and were thrilled to find Mason Dixon! From the consultation/wedding cake tasting to the beautiful reception setup, complete with a Paleo menu and fabulous cake, Mason Dixon was 100% professional and competent. We highly recommend!
