Working with Matias for our wedding was a dream -- not only is his work amazing, he is such a fun, kind, and caring person. He makes you feel great when he's working with you and you can tell how thoughtful he is in his craft which is evident in every photo. I was blown away by our photos and received them very quickly (around ~5-6 weeks after our wedding) and had such a great time reliving this day. We got a sneak peak the very next day so we could post on social media (he really gets us :)). The rest of the reviews I've read perfectly sum up what it's like to work with Matias. Matias blew us away. If you’re contemplating, just book him now. Truly - this was the best decision of our wedding planning. We got lucky he was open on our weekend, and were honestly honored to have his talent and eye working with us. His A) professionalism from start to finish, B) warm personality and endearing humor, and C) off-the-charts photography eye, style and talent, all mix beautifully together to shape the experience into one that for us, was immensely better than we could have even imagined. From the moment we met him in person, we felt we had been friends for years, and I think others who have been lucky enough to work with him before all say the same thing. Matias is of the nicest, thoughtful, and most caring people we‘ve ever spent time with. Photography aside, he is just one of those people that is good to be around. Words cannot properly describe how talented of a photographer and a ‘good energy/vibe creator’ he is. He consistently demonstrated this uncanny, natural ability for making everyone around him happy and at ease in somewhat stressful moments, and in front of a camera, even as we were people who weren’t used to being photographed. Almost every single one of our guests noticed that too, and said something positive about him afterwards. We can’t tell you how many times someone came up to us with a surprisingly-impressed expression saying things along the lines of, “Wow. Your photographer is REALLY good, and so nice.” He was also always open to do ANYTHING we wanted in a photo, encouraged our ideas, and allowed us to be even more comfortable ale with ourselves -the whole time- while enhancing our our personal styles and personalities. And above all, he really brought the ‘fire’ to each shot through his ability to translate chemistry between my husband and I into absolutely beautiful shots, which helped us to continuously stay grounded and centered by taking us back to the reason why we were there in the first place: our love for each other. (which we learned was honestly really easy to lose sight of throughout all the wedding weekend chaos). After seeing the final product (in super-human speed turnaround time) we can with full confidence say he has this insane talent for visual arrangement and lighting that is truly magical (might sound corny but we mean it). He can take any angle or situation and make it even more beautiful, always bringing out the love in every photo, and capturing the BEST moments and translating them into art, while staying true to you and your partner’s personalities and style. We whole heartedly believe he is the top 1% of the 1% in the industry and in the wedding photography world. We would go above and beyond to recommend him, more than any of our other vendors (who were ALL so amazing too). This guy just blew our socks off, and we are are still just so beyond grateful. Whether your wedding is in Maui or somewhere else on the globe, this guy is going to add a magical touch that you just can’t replicate or place a dollar value on. & We feel everyone else who reflects on their experience with him feel the same way. He is a rare gem; a truly amazing blend of artist, professional, and human.

Words cannot describe how amazing working with Matias was. If you follow any of his social media, you know how fun and passionate of a person and photographer he is. He is as genuine of a person you will meet, and his work reflects his passion and skill. From the moment he began taking photos, the first thing that comes to mind is how natural and comfortable he made us, and everyone involved feel. We were both really nervous on our wedding day and he picked up on that so quickly and put us in situations to feel more comfortable. He kept us laughing the entire time, which made for great candid shots. He was also so thoughtful to include all of the elements that we found important and let him know beforehand into our album. Besides his wonderful personality, our wedding pictures are the most beautiful works of art. He obsesses about lighting and capturing the correct shot, but somehow does it all so naturally. There were many times throughout the wedding that I completely even forgot he was there but he was capturing the most amazing images of us. We have gotten SO many complements on our wedding photos, and people have said they belong in a magazine. To make it even better, we had a sneak peek of our photos on his website within a day of our wedding, and our entire album was ready so much quicker than we could have even expected. Matias was our dream photographer, and we were so fortunate to be able to work with him for our wedding. We plan to return to Maui in the future to do a water session because we enjoyed working with him that much. I could not recommend working with Matias more.

I can't say enough great things about Matias. First of all I live in Texas and planned my whole wedding from home. Not once did I meet in person with a vendor or go to Hawaii to make plans. Choosing vendors was hard because I relied heavily through email communication, right away I knew Matias was the photographer for us. I saw his work through the Knot and messaged him and he got back with me right away and I was able to secure him very easily. The photographs of our wedding were the most important part for us because it was a destination wedding and many couldn't attend these were needed to show to family and friends that weren't there. Also to look back at these and remember the most important day of our life. Matias was prompt on our wedding day and so excited to shoot our wedding it made me so happy! The first time meeting him I felt like I had known him already, he was so friendly and put me right at ease. Right away he starting taking pictures and he didn't miss anything. He has amazing energy, a constant smile and such a creative outlook to capture the perfect shots. The way he floated through out the day taking pictures seamed effortless for him, he knew exactly what he wanted and the results were gorgeous! We knew he got some amazing photos and couldn't wait to see them, but were shocked when he sent us a "sneak peak" the very next day! Everyone we showed the photos to were amazed and I know no one else could have given us this quality. We didn't have to wait much longer for the rest of the photos either. I am so grateful for the Knot to have let me seen Matias and his work, and for Matias accepting to shoot our wedding. I will have these photos forever and the memories of the most amazing day thanks to him. If you are looking for a photographer please don't pass him up, you won't regret it. Matias was wonderful! He was so easy to communicate with and made me feel comfortable right away. I really love his photography style, it's what originally drew me to him. He made everything so smooth. I wanted him to use his creativity to capture our wedding, instead of a set list of poses. He did a remarkable job! Matias was fabulous to work with from our initial inquiry throughout the entire booking and planning process! Contracts, payment, and communication were all clearly organized with HoneyBook. Due to bad weather we had to move up our shoot which he was more than gracious enough to accommodate so we could get the sunset shots we wanted. He really went out of his way to make sure my husband and I were comfortable and ourselves, we really had a great evening shooting together- not to mention our pictures are SIMPLY BEYOND! If you're looking for a photographer for your wedding, anniversary or a land + sea session like us, I'm highly recommend working with him.

Matias is AMAZING! He is a very talented photographer with unique styles and a fun personality. We have had a few photo shoots with him now and he gets our highest recommendation! I first booked a photo shoot with him 2 years ago thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I was looking for someone to capture my proposal to my now wife and he was the perfect photographer for the job. From the initial conversation, planning, offering suggestions, helping arrange the surprise and through the photo shoot Matias was fantastic! He was so helpful and supportive going above and beyond to make the proposal work out without a snag. It was a tall order arranging and meeting to hike through the bamboo forest and up waterfalls while pretending to be a complete stranger and hiding in the bushes out of sight secretly capturing the proposal, but Matias absolutely nailed it. She had no idea he was there and he got all the shots that I hoped for. He got some great images in the water session after as well. He was very easy to work with, gave great direction and was so fun. We had such a good time with him laughing and cracking jokes. Having him capture those moments will be treasured for a lifetime and it helped make a great story too! The second session we booked was on the following trip to Maui a year later. We wanted to do another photo shoot with him, but on the beach and in the ocean this time with a sexier theme to the engagement shoot. We met him at a quiet secluded beach and got right into shooting some fun beach & water shots. We had another amazing time with him and got so many great pictures with a completely different theme and look. Working with Matias is EASY. He makes you feel comfortable, confident and relaxed while making it fun. We had a smile on our face the whole time again. The 3rd session we wanted to get our family together for a photo shoot for some nice family photos on the beach for the first time in decades of Maui family vacations. The family loved working with Matias too with the same comments of how fun, comfortable, easy and efficient he was getting all the pictures we wanted as a family and as couples. The photos turned out beautifully and honestly the best all of us have ever looked. The whole family commented on how he was able to capture how truly happy everyone was in the photos. Not only was it great to have these nice family photos for all of us, but we didn't realize really how special these photos are until this year. My grandparents had been vacationing on Maui bringing the family with them for many, many years to enjoy tons of amazing, fun memories together. Well, this year my Gramps passed away and we now realize that these beautiful family photos captured the last family trip to Maui with our Gramps. He looked so good with such a big smile along with the rest of us. This is an extremely cherished moment for our family and especially my Gramie, his wife of 65 years. She has one of the picture of all of us hanging in her hallway so she can see it as she walks by it everyday. I write this with a heavy heart from the loss, but so very thankful of Matias for capturing these priceless photos of my family. Flawless job by an amazing person to not only doucument your wedding but a great person to be around. Matias’ energy is contagious yet he is beyond professional. I truly appreciated his knowledge of wedding timelines from his past experiences and that he was very responsive to messages and punctual on the wedding day. I had been following NV Maui Media’s work via Instagram for awhile because I was so fasinated by Matia’s work. After getting engaged, my fiancé suggested Matias which I didn’t realize he knew him! I felt honored that we would get to work with him. The photos from the wedding had us absolutely floored. Even people that couldn’t go to our wedding told me how they felt like they were there once seeing them and that those that were there, felt like they could relive it through his work. The quality and resolution is top notch. Matias’ sense of creativity and vision in what would look spectacular as backdrops and poses (or candids) were great and well directed. Something I appreciated the most is that he took time to make me a full dinner plate (plus carrying 2 cameras while walking up and down on our reception boat) which is definitely not in the job description. A true servant’s heart. Needless to say, I highly recommend NV Maui Media. Wouldn’t have had the best day of my life documented by anyone else. I don’t even know where to begin... From the minute we made contact I felt like I was working with a friend. Matias, your work is incredible and you honestly made myself and Ben feel so comfortable. Where to begin?! There are not enough characters allowed in this review to even begin to explain how amazing Matias was for our wedding day! He left his beautiful island of Maui and flew all the way to Rhode Island for our wedding. From the initial contact all the way up until our last dance, he was there for every moment, question, concern, vision, etc. He was so responsive, gave great advice, and even helped put together a timeline to maximize our time to not only get the best lighting for pictures, but to enjoy the party! Matias is engaging, professional, extremely talented at what he does, hilarious, and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera (which isn’t easy for either myself or my husband). Without hesitation I would recommend Matias as your photographer and I guarantee you will be booking the best! Matias is the best photographer and captures the most magical moments! He photographed my sister-in-law’s wedding as well as my engagement and wedding. He made us feel so comfortable in every setting, especially when we were doing the couple shoots, which resulted in stunning photos that are so natural and so “us”.
