About this vendor

Hi My name is Matias (Mati). I'm Chilean with roots in the PNW. I'm all about coffee, old fashion doughnuts, stand up paddling and exploring the Pacific Northwest. I used to be an avid climber and an adventure guide in Chile and British Columbia. Now I'm a full time photographer, based in Tacoma - Seattle who loves getting outside with my family and my camera whenever I can. I was 16 when my grandmother got me a Konica Minolta film camera for a school trip. Ever since then I've been documenting my trips and life as a whole. Only a couple years ago I had the strenght to jump into full time and make photography my career. My wife was a huge advocate of this as she believed that not only I'd be good at it but I'd also be happy. My approach is a mix of organic and visual storytelling portraits that let you be yourself. I am passionate about creating authentic photographs for you and your partner that are going to bring back memories throughout your life. Don't worry about being awkward or not knowing any poses. If there is anything I'll tell you to do is just to be yourself! The experience. If there's anything I've learned throughout my working life it's the importance of service. Working in tourism and hospitality made me always plan ahead, look for potential problems and how to get through them. I'm committed to capturing you and your partner's milestone moments-from engagement to expecting your first. As I photograph a couple along their path, I honor that every couple's story is unique. Gracias, Mati.

Matias photographed our elopement ceremony at the Micro Venue in Ballard and he was so warm and so kind. I already loved his photography from Instagram so I knew he was going to be...

a joy to work with when my planner mentioned him. His photos evoke this sense of feeling, an entire experience to be had and that's the kind of photography I was looking for. Someone who would capture, me, exactly as I am, and be able to translate the pure joy, excitement, nervousness and love I experienced on that day. We couldn't have our friends or family with us so we leaned on our vendor team to help us celebrate and it really felt like a celebration with Matias. He blended effortlessly into the background when we weren't noticing and gave direction with ease to capture certain shots. I watched him work and even I could tell, behind the camera that he was capturing something really special. We were so comfortable with him the entire event. Thank you so so much Matias for being part of our special day!

Captures the "love" & "uniqueness" of you one photo at a time Mati was amazing! Mati handled my daughter's wedding. He has the ability to capture the emotion with his photography....

What I loved the most is seeing the pictures that I had no idea were taken. Unlike other photographers I have used, Mati has a presence that does not distract from the occasion. He is mindful of the importance of capturing the moment without distracting from it. Mati is clearly very passionate about his work and puts 100% of his creativity into capturing your day through photography.

I hired Matias to take photography for my small wedding elopement. During the ceremony, he was amazing, simply because he was actively photographing without disturbing the intimacy...

of the day. I was able to truly get lost in the magic of my wedding day and received so many absolutely stunning photographs that I had a hard time picking which ones were my favorites, they were all just so beautiful and truly captured all those little moments. He was super responsive throughout the whole process, before and after, and captured all those shots I wanted with specific family members. Such a talented photographer, couldn’t recommend him enough!

10/10 would recommend hiring Matías to photograph your wedding/elopement/whatever event. He is very communicative, upfront and clear about his pricing and what that includes, is ve...

ry personable, and takes great photos! Because of covid, we were unable to take unmasked photos inside our church, and as we were getting married in December (in Seattle!), we had multiple scenarios laid out for what would happen given different weather circumstances. It turned out that our day was miraculously clear skied and sunny, so much so that I was worried that the light would be too harsh for the photos. I shouldn't have worried though - we got our photos back from Matías in just a few weeks, and when we got them, they were so great! From the portraits before the ceremony to the cozy intimate reception at my in-laws' home after, every photo captures the love and beauty of the day and we're going to cherish these photos forever.
