My husband and I really wanted someone who could capture the candid, raw moments (with sharp focus of course) and Matt caught them - the snotty noses, the awkward dance moves, and natural smiles. Still amazed at how well Matt plays around with lighting! It creates edgy, rustic photos. I was a fairly high-maintenance bride (groom not so much), but Matt was very easy going and willing to go with the flow of our perfect day.

’re so happy that he has such a light-hearted nature, an attention to detail, and a willingness to go above and beyond the norm. When all the other vendors had finished and left, Matt was still standing right beside us. I chose Matt originally because I loved his style of photography; it was candid, natural, and his attention to lighting and angles had the touch that I was looking for. I was extremely selective because I myself work in the creative field and work with photographers all the time. Matt really delivered–he shot all our events, including our engagement photos, our civil marriage, and the big ceremony, 3 separate events in total. By the end of it all he felt like he was part of our family, and when we got the photos they are absolutely stunning. Matt is really able to capture the magic of the moment; the laughs and tears during those few seconds of intense emotion, the look in peoples eyes, the dance faces when the dance floor is let loose–he's so adept to finding all those little gems during the day that no one else may notice, and that is one of the many reasons why he was our hire. I'm so happy that we were able to be so fortunate to find the perfect fit for a photographer, I know that we will be cherishing all the photos he took for years to come. Thank you Matt!

o many stuck up wedding vendors out there, Matt was down-to-earth, communicative, enthusiastic yet laid back (that calmed me down), armed with years of professional experience, and funny with his sarcastic sense of humor! The day after I sent an inquiry he got back to me and we chatted via Facetime, and as soon as we hung up, we knew we wanted to work with him. He was genuinely interested in our story, excited to capture our multicultural components and this reflected on the final outcomes. A month before the wedding we met in person to go over every single detail, but the day of, I did not have to look for him or wonder what photos he was taking, because I had full trust in him that he knew what he was doing and was doing it well. Matt's style is natural yet dramatic. He didn't ever stage us or make us feel awkward, but somehow our photos look like fairytale. He used the background and the lighting to his creative advantage, instead of checking off the must-have photos list from pinterest. The result is warmth, happiness, and having fun, the three emotions that we most prioritized on our wedding day. I can't thank him enough, and recommend him enough to the newly engaged couples!

Matt was gracious, kind, funny, and all around wonderful to work with; he essentially acted as a ninja, running around, leaping into bushes, and always getting the best shot. We just looked at our complete photo gallery for the first time and I wanted to cry. I'm so grateful we went with Matt, because we will cherish these photos forever.

t on time the day of the wedding and jumped head first into the madness without skipping a beat. He made everyone feel extremely comfortable and he captured special moments that I had completely forgotten about. Everything is captured in a way that makes it look beautiful and artsy yet unpretentious and natural. Just before the ceremony it started to pour (in true Costa Rica fashion). Matt braved the rain and got attacked by ants to get a great shot of my favorite animal, the sloth, swinging by the pool to say congrats. 
Because of the rain delay it was too dark to get any couples shots after the wedding. Matt agreed to meet up with us two mornings later to shoot some extra video AND photos. The photos that Matt took are breathtaking, I've never looked so beautiful. My husband and I are not exactly what you would call "photogenic" and (between my food poisoning and his hangover) making us look good that morning was not an easy task. Matt made us both feel completely at ease, made us look amazing and gave us direction whenever we started to get awkward. He went for every shot--to the point that he was bleeding, soaking wet and covered in spider webs by the time we were done. He is passionate about his work and really gets excited when he gets a great shot and it definitely shows in his photos and video. 
If you're thinking about hiring him DO IT, you can be confident that he's going to do a great job and you will have beautiful images of that day forever :-)

fter our wedding day (and he was seriously just a pleasure to hang with for 10 hours on the happiest day of our lives). I can’t recommend him highly enough. The extended cut: When we met with Matt, we were sold. He’s incredibly chill, authentic and just has an all-around good vibe. We knew we loved his work, but we also wanted to choose someone we’d enjoy spending our whole wedding day with; Matt fit the bill and then some. We were drawn to Matt's work because he truly has an exceptional eye for detail, beauty and emotion. We really wanted the emotion, action and little-moments-we-hadn’t-even-realized-happened captured. On our wedding day, he brought his good vibes and keen eye — and other than that, was totally non-obstrusive. I truly forgot we were being followed around the whole day/night. What he delivered completely surpassed our expectations. Matt, thank you for your generosity, talent and overall awesomeness! It was our absolute pleasure to work with you.

Matt was kind, responsive, and helped me feel so comfortable. We decided to do an engagement shoot with Matt prior to our wedding so we could have photos for our save the dates and to make sure we liked his work. To say I liked his work would be SUCH an understatement. I absolutely adore the photos. Matt does not pose his photographs.. at most he requested we stop talking about serious things! :) Oops! Matt had a great knack for catching the unique shots and picked an amazing, minimalist location that looked stunning as the backdrop for our engagement shoot. The photos came out perfectly and you can truly sense the emotions we were both feeling about the day. I can't recommend Matt enough!! I am so thrilled we will be able to work with Matt for our wedding next year!
