Matt and Ashley are such FANTASTIC people and photographers to work with! When it came to getting everything to flow smoothly on the wedding day, we trusted them implicitly to dire...
ct the family circus and ensure everyone was where they needed to be. We didn't hire a wedding planner because we had these two, who were meticulous about the day-of schedule and had the foresight to avoid timing pitfalls. They are both just so sweet and knew how to read the situation, when to step in or give space during a very emotionally charged and wonderfully chaotic day! Their style of photography too was exactly what we could have wished for and more-- such a classic and clean look that was professionally polished and truly captured the personal touch of our day. And on top of all that, they are so intuitive about directing to get the best poses so you feel natural and it works on a large scale too when herding large groups of family for pictures together. We will definitely be returning to them to capture future life events!
Matt photographed our engagement party and did a fantastic job. I usually hate photos of myself, but he made everyone look amazing. He even got my two year old niece smiling for th...
e camera. Best of all, the photos were ready within a week, one of the speediest turnarounds I've seen. Highly recommend!
First off, our pictures were great, from the engagement photo session to the very last picture taken at the reception. There are so many other things that can shape your opinion of...
wedding vendors but at the end of the day, the reason we chose to work with Matt and Ashley was because we felt their style and expertise matched with what we were looking for. It’s not surprising then that we absolutely love how our photographs turned out. It wasn’t just us either. Our friends and family are equally in love with how they turned out. Matt and Ashely delivered our photos quickly, answered any questions, were able to find specific photos we were looking for and even sent us a nice little gift with a few of their favorites printed and a lovely handwritten note.
Just as important as the pictures though, they’re just great people who were so kind and generous with their time. We obviously had a million questions and “oh sh!t” moments throughout and Matt and Ashely were our rock in this process. From curating a timeline to answering our millions of questions and even recommending other vendors, they were the vendor we relied on the most. On the wedding day, they both did such a great job of keeping us on schedule without being bossy or overbearing. They were simultaneously able to slip into the background to document everything without inserting themselves into the special moments, while also being able to chill and hang out with our wedding party during any downtime. We had so many people come up to us at the end of the night and tell us how great their interactions with Matt and Ashley were and compliment us on choosing such kind and respectful people to work with.
By the time they day ended, we felt like they were more than just our photographers, but they had become our friends.
After everything was over and we had a chance to take a breath and reflect on everything, we easily agreed the best decision we made during the ENTIRE wedding planning process was choosing Matt and Ashley to be part of it. Just simply can’t say enough good things about them.
Matt and Ashley are an incredible team to work with! From our first meeting, we felt listened to, and they promptly answered all of our questions along the way. On our wedding day,...
Matt snapped photos while we got ready, and he genuinely put us at ease and made taking photos fun. He captured the most beautiful, special candids from our intimate ceremony, and he helped us feel comfortable when posing for portraits. We were so happy with the variety of candids and posed photos in our gallery, and the stunning way in which Matt captures the light. We wholeheartedly recommend Matt and Ashley Photography -- you won't be disappointed.
As an events professional, I know from experience that a photographer can make or break your big day--they'll be spending all day with your closest friends and family, capturing yo...
ur most intimate moments, balancing family dynamics, and making sure you don't run behind, all while being tasked with actually photographing the wedding! As such, it was important to my husband and I that we chose a photography team that we loved and trusted wholeheartedly. Matt and Ashley were (and are!) everything we were seeking and more.
While we initially fell in love with their photography and editing styles (isn't their portfolio is to die for?!), once we got to know them, we were sold. From their first email, they were communicative, professional, and extremely organized. We had a Zoom consultation and immediately felt at-ease and connected to them both--they're extremely warm, kind, and knowledgable people. Even throughout the wedding planning process, they were always available to answer any questions we had or even help create timelines.
On our wedding day, Matt and Ashley arrived early and got to work right away. They struck a perfect balance of keeping us on schedule while allowing us to enjoy priceless moments with our friends and family. As such, we got all of the shots we wanted and SO many more--my husband remarked that while a special moment or conversation was taking place, he'd think to himself, "Wow, this would be a cool photo." Then, out of the corner of his eye, he'd see Matt or Ashley taking a snap. It was like they read our minds--they were everywhere!
In terms of portraits with each other, our families, and our wedding party, I was a bit nervous about posing and feeling awkward. Matt and Ashley helped all of us feel natural and relaxed in front of the camera. Our guests fell in love with the two of them and couldn't stop raving. Many members of our wedding party (including one who is a wedding photographer) want to hire them to shoot their own weddings someday, and we can't say we blame them!
Our gallery was delivered early--despite it being busy season--and was jaw-dropping. Matt and Ashley captured every little in-between moment that we can now cherish forever and ever: my bridesmaids giggling and dancing as we got ready, a kiss I placed on my grandfather's cheek, my father-in-law jumping in the lake right before donning his tux, our friends and family meeting and mingling over spritzes at cocktail hour, my mom looking misty and proud during my dad's speech--the list goes on and on and on.
My advice? Stop looking for your wedding photographer; you've found them! You won't regret handing over the reins to these two.
This dynamic and incredibly talented couple made such a huge positive difference in our wedding planning.

of our most precious times.
Can't thank enough for all their incredible work in documenting our wedding and endless support during planning. Will never forget all those warm conversations we had during planning.
Matt and Ashley are the ABSOLUTE BEST!! I don’t even know where to begin. From the very start and throughout the entire process they were so helpful, easy to talk to, and helped pu...
t our minds at ease. They made our engagement photos and wedding day so much fun before even talking about our amazing pictures that we received. Both of them were a calming presence on a stressful day and helped make sure things went as smoothly as possible. Neither of them missed a single moment throughout the day, when looking through our wedding pictures they captured so many moments that I didn’t even realize were happening at the time and that are so unbelievably special to my husband and I. Matt and Ashley talk about creating a legacy, and they have gone above and beyond to help us do that. There are so many amazing pictures of my husband and I and our family and friends that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Both of them are such amazing genuine people and I can’t thank them though for what they put in to our wedding. We can’t wait for the opportunity to use Matt and Ashley for our family pictures in the future <3

uld tell they really knew what they were doing from the beginning.
The engagement photo shoot was so enjoyable and Matt made us feel so comfortable during.
The day of the wedding was just wonderful with these two. They answered all our questions and it was simply an amazing time having them there with us.
Oh yeah - the photos - they were incredible. I have so many good things to say about these two as people, and even more awesome things to say about their photography. Going through everything after our wedding was an amazing experience.
They're worth every penny and I'm very thankful they were part of the best day of our lives.

We’re so glad we worked with Matt and Ashley for our wedding. We got in touch with them about a year before the wedding date and knew immediately after our intro call that we wante...
d to work with them. They are organized, savvy, and down to earth. They’re genuinely fun people to work with, who are genuinely passionate about what they do.
During the wedding day, they were extremely organized, and we worked through all the shots efficiently, but were also not at all pushy or trying to rush the process. The way they balance this is masterful. They have tons of ideas for what they want to shoot, and are always asking open to feedback and adjusting during the process to make sure you get the outcome you want. Throughout the evening, once we were interacting with all the guests, Matt and Ashley were always capturing the moment without getting in the way of the guests. It’s truly awesome seeing them in action.
Afterward, they got us our curated and finalized gallery very quickly, and even touched up a couple photos where we had specific requests. We can’t recommend Matt and Ashley more highly.
This was the best decision we could have made, and can't recommend them enough ! Matt and Ashley were invaluable in making the entire wedding (not just the photos) a perfect day....
The pictures have been absolutely stunning and everything we could have imagined and more, but there's so much more. They helped us develop a fantastic timeline to the day, they recommended first look photos and knocking out family formals before the ceremony, and they helped navigate us through the day and made it all effortless. We were able to actually enjoy our time with family and friends, and the pictures back it all up. On top of that the pics were ready in just over 2 weeks from the wedding, well ahead of schedule. Thanks again for all your hard work !
The day after I got engaged, the first wedding related email I sent was to Matt & Ashley to try to lock them in…even before I started looking at venues or had a date. I would have...
planned my venue choice around their availability 😂. They had photographed 3 of my best friends’ weddings, 2 of which I had been a maid of honor/bridesmaid in, and I fell in love with with them. Obviously their work is incredible and high quality, but their dynamic as partners in life and as photographers, coupled with the fact that they are just extremely kind human beings, has made every wedding I’ve been a part of with them just a little more special. They were organized and communicative from day one, and captured the essence of what we wanted from the big day. They provided a very detailed timeline and worked closely with my wedding planner to finalize it as the wedding drew near. They also helped us with vendor recommendations as well. Their structure & organization made the first look, bridal party, and post-ceremony family photos a breeze. During the wedding/reception, it felt like they were just everywhere. As soon as someone pulled out a cell phone to try to get a picture with us, Matt or Ashley would just come out of nowhere to capture every moment. I cannot recommend them enough!
Oh boy. Where do I even start. I've known of Ashley's sweet demeanor since high school and was not surprised to see she found her partner with that same big heart. The husband and ...
wife duo are the real deal. They bring an authenticity and calmness to whatever they're doing. They're encouraging. They're clearly a team. It was great to be able to have Ashley get ready with me and Matt get ready with then fiancé. They directed the madness during family photos, post ceremony. They are very punctual and attention to detail is great. Quality of pictures is stellar. You won't regret making the investment. I didn't have a videographer nor have I gotten any pictures back, yet I am sure Matt and Ashley captured our day to a t.
Matt + Ashley were a dream to work with! From our initial consultation, we could tell that they would be a perfect fit for us. It was clear that they cared deeply about getting to ...
know us as people and capturing the unique things that make us who we are as a couple. Although we had to postpone twice due to COVID, Matt + Ashley continuously supported and encouraged us throughout the process. On our special day, they made us feel comfortable and several guests mentioned how they were a joy to have around. When we received our online gallery I was thrilled to see all the amazing moments from our day replayed in front of me! Each photo brought back the emotions and love I felt that day. I can't wait to print and gift these beautiful photos!!

ant days in your life, its really special to have a photographer who respects that an wants to make it memorable. We got a link to our wedding album virtually and its been so nice being able to share with our families and have them enjoy it as well. 10/10 would recommend.

ses that made us feel uncomfortable. They were a huge help in planning the timeline and even had great recommendations for family members trying to figure out Ann Arbor. We got amazing pictures that we love within a week, and they managed to find a great shot of every guest and family member. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

with! On the day of the wedding, they really captured the special moments of the day, and they were very attentive to detail. Our final pictures are beautiful, and we are so happy to have these pictures to remember our day. Overall, we highly recommend them!

l where my husband and I felt an immediate connection and kinship with them! Throughout the entire process Matt and Ashley were great at communicating with us, especially as we tried to navigate the experience of hosting/planning a pandemic wedding. As guidelines and safety protocol kept changing, Matt and Ashely were right there with us to check in, to suggest alternative ideas that would help keep all of us safe during our big day, as well as to hear our fears and concerns. Our day ended up looking quite different than the one we had planned, Matt and Ashley helped us capture the experience in all of its one of a kind glory! Matt and Ashley not only took gorgeous photos for us to treasure for years to come, but they helped to capture the spirit and story of our day, something we will be eternally grateful for.
Matt and Ashley are generous in their time and their spirits. Truly making the entire process so seamless and easy. With Matt and Ashley, we knew that our special day was going to be captured with deep love and consideration. Their work truly speaks for itself. We only wish we could get married again to spend more time with them! We can’t wait for our next opportunity to work with them.
I can’t rate Matt and Ashley high enough. They were thorough, communicative and overall amazing to work with - and that doesn’t even get to their photos.

bers talking about their great photos and have had several couples asking us for their contact. They were incredibly patient throughout a very big and long wedding, even our wedding party was raving about them afterward.
To say impressive is an understatement! The photos were stunning and they truly captured every moment from getting ready, the beauty of our ceremony and the celebration during our reception. We’re so grateful for their hard work!
I've never been the girl to dream about her wedding from childhood, but I can tell you that I've known I wanted Matt+Ashley to be my photographers for years now (way before I dated...
my now husband). They're the absolute best, and they've mastered their craft like none other. When we received our photos I actually cried. They were everything I hoped for and more. LOVE THEM to pieces.
Matt and Ashley are such phenomenal photographers and human beings. My wife had been photographed by them as a bridesmaid in another wedding and when we met with them we knew right...
away that we wanted to work with them for our wedding. They worked with us as we had to make many changes to our wedding plans in the summer of 2020, such as reducing our guest list from 180 to 25. They even let us repurpose some of their time since photographing a backyard 25-person wedding just takes less time. They were so professional taking photos on our wedding day and did a great job directing the show. They made sure all of our photo combinations happened, they photographed the most intricate details, and they even arrived ready with a clear umbrella so we could take photographs outside despite the rain. They captured all of the beautiful moments of our day and especially our dear family members that were able to join us. The online photo gallery was really easy to use after the wedding and we were able to share it easily with family and friends who were not able to attend in person. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Matt and Ashley. Thank you for capturing our day!
Matt and Ashley did our photos for our intimate wedding ceremony with our parents in Detroit this fall and we could not have had a better experience. Both Matt and Ashley were supe...
r attentive throughout the planning process and as people who don't necessarily love having photos taken, Matt made us incredibly comfortable and we had a great time. While they can definitely do traditional photos, we chose Matt and Ashley because of their background in photojournalism and talent of capturing moments, not just the staged shots. We absolutely recommend them!
Photography is the one of the only tools that truly captures your Wedding day and all that money you spend on decorations, the venue and food means nothing if you don't have a good...

Everything Matt + Ashley did was amazing. From our engagement photos to the wedding, truly the best photographers! Professional and personable. Matt made us feel at ease, made it seem like you were just talking and having your picture taken by a friend. Highly recommend!

e wedding industry myself I knew I didn't want to plan something too big too far out...so when I reached out to my network of MI vendors & was referred to Matt and Ashley I knew if they were available it was meant to be after seeing their work & reading all the amazing reviews online! Since we were having a smaller wedding without a bridal party, we had Matt shoot alone and he was so great at keeping us calm, organized, and on time! It was so nice hanging out with him all day. My husband was so relaxed and comfortable during photos considering we had never met Matt in-person and have never had professional photos taken of us before. Thank you again for making all of this happen on such short notice and for delivering amazing pix in record time! If you're looking for personable, incredible talent to share your story...look no further!

edding, we knew we were. They both have the most genuine and personable interactions with everyone in the wedding party, friends, family, etc., making everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Matt & Ashley take the time to plan everything for you, produce a timeline to keep the day on track, and are there for you in case any issues arise. I'm not kidding when I say, they are literal angels on your wedding day. My husband was so comfortable with Matt, and his groomsmen kept commenting on how he felt like just "one of the guys" during the time they spent with him. And Ashley, well, she is a godsend. Keeping timelines intact, reassuring me that the weather didn't matter, and reminding me of the love surrounding us. Our families and wedding party could not stop saying how amazing they both were throughout the whole day. With their amazing personalities aside, their work speaks for itself. Matt & Ashley stole us away for a quick minute at the end of the night & showed us some of the highlights of our day, and we were all in tears. Their talent and ability to capture the most amazing moments is unparalleled. The photos are exactly what I wanted and more than I could dream of. This team is top notch, I wish I could give 1 million stars. You will not only get the PERFECT pictures that truly encapsulates your best day ever, but you will also gain incredible friends that feel like family as well. Thank you so much to Matt & Ashley, we are blessed to know you!
Matt and Ashley were a delight to work with throughout my son’s engagement and wedding. They make a wonderful team and we’re 100% professional. They created a calm atmosphere on ...
the day of the wedding, and took such beautiful, artistic and unique photos! They happily coordinated and worked well with the other professionals that day, from hair and makeup to videographers and wedding coordinators. Most importantly, Matt and Ashley kept the bride, groom and entire wedding party relaxed and happy. I would highly recommend them for your wedding!

hey are the best photographers that truly make you feel so comfortable. Every step of the way, Matt & Ashley were there to answer questions and make you feel like you were the only people that mattered. ldn't be happier with them. The weeks leading up to the wedding, they helped us create a wedding timeline (one of the biggest things I was stressing over) and every little detail and moment was captured because of it! On the day of, Matt and Ashley made sure we stayed on schedule and helped make everything go smoothly. When we got our photos back from them, we couldn't believe all of the small moments that they were able to document for us! The pictures turned out better than we could ever imagine! Their attention to detail and their kindness and generosity is unmatched, and we are so happy that we had them as our photographers for the wedding!

el pretty daunting but Matt and Ashley made both my husband and I feel really comfortable and natural throughout the process and it really comes through in our photos. They were also great at taking our preferences for photos into account, even to the point of taking some photos on the street we lived on in college during our engagement session-- they somehow managed to make student housing (complete with massive trash cans) look good and the photos they took there are some of my absolute favorites. I think that's a true testament to how talented and creative they are. Aside from their amazing eye for detail, talent, and professionalism, though, Matt and Ashley are just plain wonderful people. They are so kind and genuine and we can't recommend them highly enough!

hem to be part of our big day. Their photos are so unique and unlike any others, we were so honored to have them. They were easy to communicate with and great with recommendations for picture locations and the wedding day timeline. Matt and Ashley made everything so easy and hassle free for us on our big day. They were very organized and did a great job sticking to the picture timeline so we had extra time with out guests. Through this process we feel that we have gained friendship from Matt and Ashley as they were more than just our photographers. Their pictures speak for themselves, but we would recommend them to everyone we know!
Matt and Ashley are so much more than photographers. When we initially met them, they let us know that they would likely be by our side more than any one single person than anyone ...
else. And we’re so thankful they were. Anyone who has seen their work knows they’re amazing. But beyond capturing beautiful moments, they helped us develop a timeline and keep our day moving with ease. My husband doesn’t love getting his photo taken, so when he said he actually had fun after out engagement session, I knew we had found the right pair. Incredibly easy to work with, acute attention to the details, a sense of humor that helps you relax in front of the camera, and of course the magic they work behind the lense make this couple the two to book for your wedding. We walked away with a portfolio of beautiful photos and two new friends.
Matt and Ashley are AMAZING. Not only do they take the most beautiful photos that really capture the emotions of a wedding, but they are the most genuine, kind, and FUN people to s...
pend a day with.
Choosing a photography team was a huge stressor for us - we really wanted gorgeous, timeless photos, but it was also very important to us to connect with our photographers and enjoy their company. Matt and Ashley went above and beyond in both categories - the photos we have seen so far are incredible and really capture how we felt on our wedding day. And being with the two of them all day felt like hanging out with two close friends who just happened to be holding cameras - we were so comfortable with them and had a blast wandering around town taking photos.
Our wedding party, parents, and guests all raved about how friendly and professional Matt and Ashley were, and we couldn't agree more. We are so happy with our choice to have them capture our memories.

t a timeline for our big day. Being able to have Matt with the guys and Ashley with the girls was also great. Then, during the ceremony, they worked with each other extremely well and we love that we have beautiful pictures from multiple angles. They did a wonderful job of capturing "candid" moments. I recommend Matt and Ashley to everyone and I hope to work with them again in the future.
From one particular bride to the next, stop searching for your wedding photographer. You've found them. Matt and Ashley were beyond easy to work with and truly take your wedding ex...
perience personally. They made my husband and me feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera during our engagement session and wedding and we love that our photos are fluid and natural instead of awkwardly posed. Ashley puts together a whole wedding day timeline which was a HUGE stress reliever for me because (as a first time bride who has also never been in a wedding) I have no experience with how much time to devote to the different aspects of a wedding day! Matt and Ashley kept everything running smoothly and I never had to look at a clock once on my wedding day. These two are truly genuine, good people who want nothing more than to perfectly capture the best day of your life. We have so many gorgeous photos that it is difficult to choose our favorite!

Matt and Ashley kept our whole day going smoothly and basically created our day of timeline. They have such great experience and are kind, but ready to be enforcers to get things done (e.g. all of our family shots). We can't say enough good things about them, you will NOT be disappointed.
We couldn't have asked for anything more! Matt and Ashely captured each and every moment of our day perfectly. These aren't just your photographers - they are your friends.

I don't even know where to begin with writing this review because Matt and Ashley were SO amazing to work with. Not only are they two of the kindest, sweetest people to work with, ...
they are also incredible at what they do. From the beginning, Matt and Ashley made us feel so comfortable. Living out of state was complicated while planning a wedding, but Matt and Ashley made it super easy for us. We facetimed our first meeting with them and then they worked with us to find a weekend where we would be in town to do our engagement photos...in the dead of winter...during sunrise. And they did all this with a huge smile on their faces. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and they were there to capture every moment we did and didn't see. Ashley was there every step of the way to make sure I was ok and check if I needed anything as I anxiously awaited walking down the aisle. When we received our wedding pictures, we were so happy with how they turned out. They were absolutely beautiful and really captured the emotion of our special day. I would 100% recommend Matt and Ashley to anyone looking for a wedding photographer...you can't go wrong!!

tos turned out absolutely stunning. We have gotten so many compliments from our family and friends saying our wedding album is one of the best they have ever seen!
Aside from the quality of the photos, Matt and Ashley played a pivotal role in making sure we stuck to the timeline on our wedding day. With a large wedding party (~25 people), tight timelines and far distances to travel between the ceremony and reception, they made it all happen & for that we are so grateful! They made our day that much more perfect!

When we first met for our engagement shoot, Matt and Ashley immediately put us at ease and we felt like we had been fast friends. Their style and energy is so laid back and beautiful and they instantly had us laughing and enjoying our time together. They are so supportive, professional, and detail oriented; they were a huge help on our wedding day with keeping us on a timeline and also making sure that we were enjoying the little moments of our day. We felt so relaxed being around them. When Matt and Ashley shared our engagement and wedding pictures with us, we were absolutely blown away. The pictures that they took are so beautiful. They perfectly captured our wedding day and the moments that made it so meaningful. Their eye to detail, overall vision and style, and true passion for what they do is all so perfectly expressed in each photo and leaves us with a wonderful representation of our wedding day. We are so thankful we chose them as our photographers.

Neither my husband nor I like to be photographed so the fact that they were able to make both of us feel comfortable speaks volumes. On top of being wonderful to work with, I am so beyond happy with our wedding photos. They perfectly capture all of the special moments as well as all of the emotions experienced throughout your special day between you and the people you care about most. When everything is all said and done, you are left with a beautifully told story through Matt & Ashley's artwork. I can't recommend them enough!
