ack to me super quickly. On the day of the wedding he was early arriving and completely flexible about timing when it wasn't exactly as we had discussed. The music was phenomenal and several people asked about how I was able to find such a great band. Our biggest worry was that no one would dance and plenty of people danced. The songs he picks are such great classics and are perfect for people of all ages. Worth every penny!

They provided all the required equipment so I didn't have to worry about anything extra and even though I had booked them to play at the reception, they volunteered to help out with the sound for the ceremony as well. Matt was also very flexible with song selections, allowing us to either play requested songs from an ipod (which he would also take care of himself) or learn songs specifically for us to play during the first dances. We requested that they play "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor for the father/daughter and mother/son dances and they learned it and played it without a single flaw- it made it so much more special to have the song played live! Matt was so professional and well-organized and I just loved the band's song list in general - it was such a blast!!! The whole reception went by without a single hitch which is something I never would have imagined! The entire band was friendly, flexible, and responsive. I could not have asked for a better band to have played at our wedding - we are still getting compliments even though the wedding was weeks ago. All around this band is amazing and I would highly recommend them for a fun band for any event.

They were about half the price of the other band we wanted and we could not have been more pleased. They were perfect. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out.

During dinner they played perfect romantic mood music and when dinner was over they knew exactly what to play to start the party. The band was great at every genre they tackled, and they played a lot of different genres! They were such a huge help in every way.

I will also add that Matt is great to work with, the week before the wedding he emailed us just to let us know that our wedding was his primary focus and to let him know if we needed anything. The set up was timely and they even helped out with our violinist who was performing at the ceremony. They dressed nicely. Matt was on top of all the details and called me a few days before to run me through everything. I would have forgotten to give him the list of the wedding party if he didn't remind me. the family to my 80 year old grandma. He is simply the best singer/songwriter in Birmingham, he has a really unique voice, and he is a comfortable and natural performer. We once heard Matt playing in a local bar in 5 Points and while we hadn't planning on going in there, ever, we liked his sound so much that we crossed a busy street to go inside and listen to his whole set. He was the first person we hired after we got engaged. We opted to hire his duo (Brother Starfoot) because we wanted an acoustic sound and were on a budget, but his 5-piece band also looks amazing. He performs all kinds of music: Top 40, R&B, country, old standards, original songs, and special requests. We were able to choose request songs for our wedding reception, and we chose the theme from the TV show Firely, an old Gene Autry song, and Florence & the Machine. During the reception he performed some old standards and also performed songs we requested by Lil Wayne, Old Crow Medicine Show and Britney Spears. All of the covers were amazing. I was not really sure if anyone would be dancing, but more than a few people did, and we had a great time! Matt and his music partner had such great harmony that everyone kept asking if they are brothers, but they aren't. They showed up promptly to do the set-up and sound check. Matt's contract was very clearly stated and he was our MC. He also let us use his sound system for the ceremony, which was really, really nice. Both musicians tuxes for the reception and played for nearly 4 hours outside in humidity. Not only that, but they both actually seemed to be enjoying themselves - and we all were too! Matt is probably worth 5 times what we paid him, and I cannot say enough nice things about what a nice guy he is. I know he plays sometimes at World of Beer and also Fuego Cantina in Birmingham - his website also has dates for shows in Huntsville and other places around the state. If you ever get a chance to see him perform, go check him out and see what you think!
