I can not speak more highly of Matthew. From the very beginning of our journey, he was such a pleasure to work with. He answered every question we had and truly made us feel at ease. He was amazing to work with, extremely professional and not to mention he is an incredibly talented photographer! So many people told me "your wedding day will be such a blur." And it's true it goes by in a flash. But thanks to Matthew, I feel as if I had every moment captured. From the special details we put into our wedding to the candid photos of us (and our guests). Even to this day, I still go back to look at all the photos and relive the best day of my life. I can not thank him enough! I would highly recommend him!

Matthew is one of a kind. He made the whole process incredibly enjoyable, from the initial phone call to the wedding day. He captured so many great photos of our friends and family, and we couldn't have been happier with his work and how quickly he delivered the prints. He is also just a really nice guy with great energy. I highly recommend him!

We could not have loved working with Matthew more. Matthew did both our engagement photos in Boston, MA, and shot our wedding at Grace Church in Amherst and Quonquont Farm and captured the beauty of the weekend so much better than we ever could have imagined. As a couple that was dreading the "posed" photos and the time it would take out of our cocktail party (given we did not want to do a first look), all of our fears were assuaged and Matt absolutely crushed banging through the photo list and getting a shocking number of really great shots of the 2 of us too in very little time and with no stress added to our plates on the busy day. He was so accommodating and always checked in to see how we were doing and if we wanted more pics without being pushy or in our faces (e.g., asked if we wanted to pop out for sunset photos or skip them, asked if there were extended family shots he should grab, etc.). We both barely knew Matt was there but yet really appreciated his attention to ensuring we were happy with how things were progressing on the photo front. But most importantly his work speaks for itself. His shots are all STUNNING and he was so creative to put us places / in front of scense that we could not have imagined ourselves (e.g., we got an insanely beautiful photo in the door of the church with the light behind us). He also got a great number of candids to fully capture our WHOLE evening, not just the posed elements. I have loved looking through the photos we have gotten so far, because some of his shots were moments I didn't get to see myself in person, and for that I am so grateful. We cannot say enough good things about our experience and have been recommending him to everyone, so thank you Matthew!!

Matthew was amazing. His photography was beautiful and so perfectly captured our special day. Also, he made us feel relaxed during the picture taking process and did not rush us or push anyone around. He was kind and gentle and had great ideas for photos - we would recommend him to anyone!

Matthew has absolutely blown away our expectations for our wedding photos. His beautiful photography captured our very best day so far and will be part of our home forever. While he set up many, many posed shots that we are thrilled with, he told us when we first interviewed him that he prefers and specializes in candid photography. His instincts for such photography appear to be incredible; when we looked over a preview of the photographs from our wedding (which he somehow got to us the very next morning), it was clear that he captured certain moments we didn’t even know were happening. Moreover, he also photographed some more private moments (in particular, one of our family members quietly toasted us away from most of the crowd) which we literally didn’t even know he was present for. He was also very attentive to the lighting outside and stole us away for some shots when the lighting was particularly good- he remembered a spot where we hoped to get some photos and they are some of our favorites. It meant a lot to have someone who kept track of what was important to us and made sure we got amazing photos. Beyond all of the above, Matthew is an absolute delight to work with. He is quietly confident, laid back, professional, and efficient. Matthew stopped by my hotel room to photograph my friends and I getting ready and saw the somewhat “louder” suit I’d picked for our wedding. Once he told me he liked the color, I knew I was good to go (any and all of us would benefit from his fashion sense). I can only give him my most wholehearted endorsement.

Matthew is an absolutely amazing photographer for your wedding, my husband found him online and we loved his journalistic style but also his ability to blend into the background and get many candid shots for you. We didn't have a videographer for our entire wedding so this was important to us! At one point during our prep, I honestly forgot that he was there until he asked to get a shot by a mirror, lol. He is great at staging photos too, as he knows how to get you to stand for the perfect shot! We also received all of our photos back earlier than expected, now this is not a guarantee obviously but was a nice surprise to receive our photos back early! We also received a highlight reel of photos before all of our photos came back. If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding, look no further than Matthew Cavanaugh, you will not regret it, I know we didn't. Thanks again Matthew!!!

Matthew is an amazing photographer and an overall awesome human being. We were already familiar with Matthew's work as he photographed my brother's wedding and another one of our family friend's wedding. We loved his work so he was honestly the only photographer I wanted. He took a 1-hour engagement shoot for us and our wedding photos. We've only gotten a preview of our wedding photos so far (was only 3 weeks ago), but we are already so excited to see the rest, as the preview photos were amazing. Matthew is very easy to work with and makes you feel completely at ease in front of the lens. He also got the unexpected job of carrying our wedding rings. I had zero doubts or worries about it though, again because you feel very much at ease that Matthew knows what he is doing. So thank you again Matthew! We're looking forward to seeing the rest of the photos and are hoping to see you at future weddings for our family and friends :)

Matthew was amazing! Cannot recommend highly enough. So calming and knowledgeable to plan with, pictures were INCREDIBLE (so many complements, we couldn't be happier with the quality), and super accommodating with specific requests we had after the fact. Honestly, having him present throughout our special day added to the experience. Matthew was the perfect blend of seemingly everywhere, helpful, invisible, and charming. We were on a tight budget and this felt like a stretch....Matthew's photography was worth every penny and then some.

Matthew ensured every detail was discussed leading up to the wedding so that we were confident the meaningful moments we experienced were captured. Matthew was such a pleasure to work with. We had an army of people in our wedding, and so many cooks in the kitchen when it came to photos, and he handled everything with kindness and a sense of humor. He made Pat and I feel extremely comfortable and guided us through the entire process. You can contract with Matthew for an additional photographer, which worked well for our healthy-sized guest list, and him and Kate captured the most magical, intimate, unforgettable moments of the day. So much love and gratitude to Matthew. I wish we could do it all again so we can hang some more!

I am writing this review after receiving some "highlights"of our wedding day only a week or two after, just in time for Christmas. I knew the most important choice we were going to make besides the venue and the dress :), would be the photographer. For those who might be cost conscious wondering if his services are worth the money, they absolutely are. After meeting with Matt, my husband and i knew instantly that he was our guy (actually we had picked Matt before we had picked the venue!). He is a soft spoken, professional, photo ninja with broad experience and creativity required to shoot any event ! He truly captured our wedding day with all of the care and attention to detail that I had hoped. Many of our guests noted they barely noticed him or his assistant, most didnt know there were two ! Although I have only seen the amazing "highlight" photos so far I felt compelled to review Matt ASAP so that some other lucky couples can find him!

Matthew was so easy to work with and made everyone feel comfortable. Very talented photographer!
