The very first vendor that I found for my wife and I's wedding was Matthew David Studio. I requested a phone call with them, and immediately got a response from Christina. We chatt...
ed on the phone for probably an hour, and I immediately knew that she is it!!! Christina explained to me the process, but also asked me questions about how my now wife and I met, and wanted to know all about our love story. She asked how planning was going (which was literally nonexistent at the time), and gave me a list of vendors she loves based off of the vibe we want for our wedding. She helped me to jumpstart our wedding planning!
After we signed a contract, we flew to Palm Springs for our engagement photos, which actually turned out to be my secret proposal to my wife (she proposed first). Christina helped me sneakily plan it, and took some great shots of us. We even went out for drinks after. She offered to do full blown engagement photos later in the year when it wasn't so hot in Palm Springs anymore, which worked out perfectly. So when we flew down to Palm Springs in November, we continued to have a blast with her and she helped us to feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. She asks personal questions and remembers so much about our previous conversations, which is so meaningful. The results of the engagement shoot absolutely blew me away, and I couldn't believe that was us in the photos. She uses many different types of cameras, including film, and she knows what she's doing. She is a true artist and the camera is her medium. Her photographs are stunning. She doesn't slap a filter on her photos like some other photographers do. She is the REAL DEAL. On the day of the wedding, I had the pleasure of meeting her husband Matthew. They are a dynamic duo and work so well together. I honestly could not wait to see Christina when she arrived, to show her my dress and tell her how excited I was. They also filmed a super 8 video for us, and provided the photo booth (which was such a hit!!!). We got all the shots we needed that day and everything moved seamlessly. Christina helped calm my nerves down immensely and was a calming voice and presence when I needed it. I could honestly go on and on, but really what I need to tell whoever is reading this, is that by choosing Matthew David Studio as your wedding photographer, you are making the absolute best choice you can make. to finally celebrate. Christina stuck with us through it all and was just as excited as we were when attempt number two finally came together! We were initially drawn to the vintage/timeless aesthetic of her work and that she shoots on both film and digital. Her energy made both our wedding and engagement shoots feel incredibly relaxed and natural, she went above and beyond by giving general wedding recommendations when we asked, and ultimately gave us exquisite high-quality photos that we love. ristina is such an amazing, personal and friendly person that she makes you feel so natural in front of the camera. Our engagement photos legit look like they should be in vogue and I could not be happier with our wedding photos! Not only were they so beautiful but she captured the energy and vibe of the entire day and night so perfectly that our photos tell a true story of the entire wedding experience! We also booked our videography and our photo booth through Christina and it made everything so easy and cohesive! Another thing that sets Christina and team apart from the rest is how well they know Palm Springs and all the best places to shoot. Especially around the Ace Hotel where our wedding was held! fun person, and her personality makes her really easy to be around. We felt like we were just hanging out with a friend, which made our shots come out in a really genuine way.
Christina shot both our engagement shots, as well as our wedding. For our engagement shots, she was super flexible in meeting us where we wanted (we ultimately chose Lake Tahoe). Even though she was carrying a huge camera bag and not the biggest hiker, she was willing to hike miles to get to a semi-private beach. Along the way, we talked about all sorts of things and had the best time :) She was so kind to our dogs as well!
Christina also offered to come shoot our welcome reception the night before our wedding, as well as an intimate gathering at our home -- just because she happened to be in town. That was completely above and beyond what we expected, and we are so grateful to have some beautiful shots from those nights as well!
And lastly, of course, the wedding day - Christina was tireless all day, running around our massive venue. Both she and her assistant Sarah brought such positive energy throughout the entire day, and we're really happy that they were able to be a big part of our special day.

bride at one of our preferred venues that made us both gasp. It was clear that she was extremely talented and incredible with natural light, especially during the beautiful golden sunsets you get in Palm Springs. We looked up the photographer and reached out for a conversation right away. We clicked with Christina early on not only because we loved her style and her relaxed and fun vibe, but also because we loved the way she uses film beautifully. As someone who grew up with a family who worked for decades at Kodak, we were stoked to hear she was a Kodak film afficianado. She also always responded with such thoughtful and detailed emails that clearly took lots of time and consideration to put together.
After we decided to book Christina, we set up an amazing engagement session in Los Angeles when she was in town. She was generous with her time and went out of her way to make it a special session, and the photos we got back from her were stunning.
When it came to the wedding, Christina had an organized way to collect information in advance so we could have productive planning calls. She was also accommodating with our last minute addition of a videographer, which she used from her in-house talent pool. Her assistant on the wedding day was also a joy! We had so much fun hanging out with Christina during this process, we look forward to seeing her in LA or PS in the future! She and her team have created pictures (and video) that we are going to love and cherish for the rest of our lives.

arching to make sure that we found someone that I felt could capture our style. Getting married in the desert and being nature lovers, it was important to me to find someone that also seemed to connect with the landscape. Our engagement and wedding pictures are unreal (in the best way!).
Christina was so easy to work with and our pictures came out so great even though we were initially uneasy in front of the camera. She worked with us as we postponed our wedding and postponed all of our engagement photo sessions due to COVID. If I could do it all over again, I would still choose Christina! Thank you so much!

One of my favorite things about Christina and her assistant who joined her was that they were careful to learn everyone in the wedding party's/our family's names beforehand, so that the group shots were pretty quick. The other really kind thing Christina did for us on our big day was make us a plate of food, two drinks, and sent us to go sit by ourselves! it was such a nice little escape so that we could spend a moment appreciating what just happened together instead of talking to tons of family and friends the entire time. What ultimately set Christina apart from all the photographers we spoke to was that she was someone I could imagine grabbing a beer with. And of course, we did! Christina knows the whole area like the back of her hand and was so helpful as we planned a hi-desert wedding from NYC. She has a ton of recommendations and connections and it seems like she's shot just about everywhere.
