Matthew is INCREDIBLE! We fell in love with his vibrant photos and use of color, and after meeting Matthew in person, we knew we found the best person to photograph our nerdy, gay wedding! He took our engagement photos and we so felt so comfortable going into the big day, and even then he exceeded our expectations. Our photo list was big, and he got through it and ensured we got all of the photos we wanted. He checked in on us throughout the day, got us water when needed (didn't even have to ask, it was just suddenly there which was fabulous), and had great energy that our guests loved. When we first met Matthew, I told him I wanted to see his detail pics because I love detail pics- he remembered that and I am IN LOVE with all of our photos of the people who celebrated with us, but also the photos of the small details that we worked so hard on. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Matthew- top notch energy, quality photos, and overall human. He truly went above and beyond for us, and I am happy to say we have found our photographer for life! Also well worth getting a second shooter - both Maddie and his assistant were wonderful and our guests loved them as well. Extra bonus points that we got our pictures back in less than 2 weeks.

Well hello there! I'm Matthew, a Minneapolis-based wedding photographer who's worked for Disney and Universal Studios, and now brings that same enthusiasm to your wedding day experience! I don't just photograph your wedding, I make sure you're fully immersed and present for all of it! I spent 5 years working for Disney and Universal Studios. I learned one thing: world-class experiences don't happen by accident. Every magical moment you remember, the one that felt effortless, spontaneous, and real was the result of someone quietly working behind the scenes to make sure nothing got in the way of it. That's exactly how I will approach your wedding day: I'm managing the timeline, smoothing the chaos, and keeping the energy right, so that when the real moments happen, you're fully in them and I'm there to capture every one. About: I grew up in the Midwest, graduated, and moved out to the west coast. From there I adventured overseas for about 5 years working for both Disney and Universal Studios. During my travels I picked up a camera and haven’t been able to put it down since! I started in headshots and editorial work, but when I found weddings, something just clicked!!! There’s something special about not only being able to document one of the most important days of a couple’s life but being able to add to it and help create memories and stories that they will carry with them forever! y, is honest and open about pricing, and has great suggestions to help give you a personalized engagement photoshoot, going as far as climbing down a small rock wall to get the best shot. On wedding day, he went above and beyond, plating our food to make sure we didn't spill tacos on our outfits! He is someone that is dedicated to making sure you have an amazing day and amazing photos. I would say Matthew is a quality over quantity type of shooter, but that quality is well worth it. Specifically, he did a great job in dark and super bright lighting bringing along lighting to help get shots. Areas I would like to see Matthew work on would be idea generation (we didn't have very many full wedding party photos and sometimes I felt like I had to lead him to a photo idea), being more proactive on changing up the schedule if we are falling behind (get groomsmen photos done if girls are taking long), and have the second shooter be more active during wedding party photos. But all of these are super subjective to my wedding and my experience. 10/10 would hire and work with again. I highly reccomend him if you want wedding photos that people will be talking about for years to come.

e was patient when I asked many nervous questions about making our timeline. He is more than just a photographer, he was looking out for us as a couple (support, attendant), coming up with ideas when we didn't know what to do (planner), and collaborating seamlessly work our other vendors (coordinator). He really focused on what was important to us for our wedding day, not solely what was easiest to photograph. He got along wonderfully with all our guests and we got many compliments about the attention to detail for family photos. His turn around times for editing our engagement and wedding were surprisingly short, but every photo was still a careful, crafted composition that we wanted to show off to everyone. We initially chose Matthew because vibrant color was a must for our wedding photos. He was so much more for us and I cannot recommend him enough to our friends and family and any couple looking for a real professional that can also have fun!

en Dinner Theatre where he was the recommended photographer. He is very responsive over email and great to work with including planning before the wedding. I provided him a list of must have photos for the wedding and he got them all! On top of that he took gorgeous detailed pictures in some outdoor spots. He even helped fix my dress train for pictures where needed. He also made an iconic moment out of grand entrance by taking pics with each guest table to the music. My makeup was accidentally orange (makeup artist issue) and Matthew was able to fix that right away. I was so surprised how he edited all our 400 pics overnight and we had the pics the morning after the wedding. Another point that I appreciated, he was very well dressed for our wedding which I also appreciated since he matched the outfit of the guests too. Highly recommend him!! Don’t think twice!

ld get photos of each table, and he was said, "I have a better idea", announced to the room the bride and groom would come to each table for pictures very quickly and goofy posing was encouraged (to be clear, he told us what he was doing and got our approval). We have some incredible photos from that. The man is a genius, and he has great ideas for joke posing if you struggle with it (on my wedding day, I certainly was). He matched the tone of my group perfectly. And not even getting into how much grunt work he did ("Oh, the groom's side need their pocket squares, and you have them. Can I bring them up?"). I had people in the room specifically designated to do those kind of things, but he just took over so I got more time with my friends pre-wedding (which, given how anxious I was was SO welcome). He was also very quick on turn around; we got our photos so quickly.

At the end of the day, what you really want is a bunch of great images captured of your big day - which we were thrilled with - but it also was a big bonus to have someone with Matthew's personality and professionalism. He arrived a little early, stayed a little late, showed up sharply dressed & ready to go, and somehow managed to walk the line of never being intrusive but always being available. He was fun, funny, and great with guests of all ages, young and old. We got a lot of great feedback from our attendees that they really liked our photographer, which was nice to hear. Aside from a very easy-to-work-with personality, his work was excellent. He had great suggestions & creativity for different shots, he listened to what we wanted for shots, and we couldn't be happier with the results. He captured so many moments, big & small, from the first look and first kiss, to family portraits, to campfire shots, and all the random unexpected action shots of the day. He gave us great direction, showed us the photos he was taking throughout the session, and had us whispering into each other’s ears to catch that ‘candid’ shot. He exceeded our expectations! I cannot wait to see how the edited shots turn out!!
