Matthew is amazing!!! We hired him after falling in love with his photos, and there is no way to fully express how wonderful he is. Matt was responsive, detailed, professional, organized, creative, super friendly, and very fun. He worked perfectly with all the vendors, had fun and creative ideas, was knowledgeable every step of the way, and many other things you would never even think of. The photos Matt created are the perfect balance - capturing the family, friends, and love in a variety of beautiful ways. Also, Matt is just a very kind and thoughtful person - everyone (family, friends, vendors, venue, etc.) loved him! We are so incredibly thankful for Matt. Matt was the quickest decision I made in the wedding process. He is the BEST! He is quick to respond and wants to know your thoughts about the vibe you are looking for. He took incredible photos our wedding. All of them I will cherish for a lifetime. He makes it a relaxed process by having you fill out a PDF form of your wedding party/family/friends etc. that you want to have photos with. I did not feel frantic on my wedding day because of the smooth transition of photos. He's is truly one of the best photographers around!

Best wedding photographer ever. Matt's talent shines through his work - but it also goes past his photos. I really valued that he met up with us beforehand to get an idea of how the day was going to play out and even provided recommendations to make the most of our time. The day of, he made us all feel really comfortable and guided us on posing as needed - good looking out! The pictures came out stunning, especially the sunset shots *swoon*. Not that there was any doubt- he knows how to play with natural light, which was exactly what we wanted at our outdoor wedding. I mean honestly, the day goes so fast. Matt is awesome! He is super organized, very logistically-minded, and takes incredible photographs! My husband and I searched and searched for a photographer in the OC area that both took solid photos and wasn't exorbitantly expensive, and I can't say how glad we were when we found Matt and he agreed to photograph our wedding! Matt made our wedding so special and captured every moment that we will treasure. He is so easy to work with and makes you feel at ease. My best friend used him for her wedding and her sister as well. We did an engagement shoot and then he did our wedding. We met with him before our engagement shoot and talked through the whole plan. He is quick to get in communication with you and always responded to our needs. We decided to add an hour so we could add sparklers and Matt even sent us example pictures ahead of time. The day of the wedding he and his second shooter were on time and had great ideas for shots at the venue. We got so many compliments on how professional they were and how they were so willing to jump in and take a picture of our guests during the reception. During the reception, we spent time taking pictures of my husband and I and those pictures will always be the most special for us. Matt finds unique places for you to take pictures so that your shots will be memorable. We got our photos a few weeks ago on a flash drive and love every single one. We would highly recommend Matt to everyone!

Our wedding was evacuated 3 hours before the start time because of a fire, and we had to relocate the entire thing to a friends backyard! Matthew Nigel Photography was SO accommodating and handled everything so well! And they captured our crazy wedding day beautifully. They were incredibly helpful in making sure we still got all of the photos we wanted with our family and friends in the midst of the chaos, and I'm so grateful for that. No matter what happens on your wedding day, you can count of Matthew Nigel Photography to do the best job, and deliver the most breathtaking photos.

Matt was one of the biggest blessings to our engagement and wedding. We immediately felt comfortable with him after our initial meeting and found his experience and demeanor to be perfect for us. We talked about budget and he worked with us on getting to a cost that fit our needs. He went above and beyond in every way. For the engagement shoot, he gave us an additional day of shooting (at no additional cost) after we got caught in traffic on the way to the second location. Being a bit camera shy, I was worried about having that fear come across in the photos but Matt brought out the best in both of us and it felt very natural. Then the wedding was perfect. Matt captured all the shots that we wanted and then some - all while dealing with a wedding party of 23 people. His second shooter, Bernard, was very talented and did a great job as well. Toward the end of the evening, festivities were running late and both stayed past their designated time to make sure the wedding was captured properly. It was the greatest gift and we felt so special to get the extra time and photos. Lastly, the presentation of the final photos was an awesome keepsake and we were overjoyed with the results. We HIGHLY recommend Matt for any photo needs and hope you have the opportunity to work with him!!!!

Matt communicated with us constantly and we always knew what to expect. From the second we contacted him to the second we received our photos, he was professional and amazing!

Working with Matt was a beyond wonderful experience. He is a true artist with great attention to detail. Our original photographer was unable to shoot our wedding due to family responsibilities, and she hooked us up with Matt. All of our pictures are amazing and capture the essence of how much we love each other!

Matt was amazing! He is the nicest person! He is an awesome photographer. He brought his assistant Bernard with him to our wedding. The groomsmen and my husband absolutely loved both guys as well. Initially my husband (fiance at the time) and I met Matt and Bernard at a wedding that we were both in. Matt was hired by our friends that were getting married so we got a first hand experience on how they did their work and what kind of photographers Matt and Bernard were. We couldn't have asked for 2 better guys to be apart of our special day and make our day one that we never forget. Pictures will last forever so we wanted to make sure that one of the biggest expenses for our wedding was going to the right photographer. Matt lived local to us in OC but traveled all the way to Las Vegas for our crazy wedding day. We got more than a handful of compliments from our family/guests/and wedding party on how amazingly awesome these 2 guys are. They are professional, nice, FUNNY, considerate, PATIENT, kind hearted, and really know what they are doing! Matt got our photos back to us within a month of our wedding. A sneak peak came within a couple days of our wedding (which I loved)! I would recommend anyone who is getting married to use them. You wont regret it! They both have a passion for photography and that really shows.

Matt is absolutely wonderful! He made two people who are very uncomfortable in front of the camera feel so comfortable. In the end it felt like we had a friend photographing our wedding rather than someone we hired. He is so calm, friendly, and honest we were completely at ease knowing that he was in charge of documenting our day. We would reccomend him to all our family and friends! Worth every single penny!!! We could say more wonderful things about him (there is quite the list) but the gist of it is that he was absolutely the perfect choice. Love love love!

I don't know where to even start with how awesome Matt is. I truly believe that if you trust your wedding vendors, you'll have nothing to stress out about on your wedding day. The second you meet Matt, you can't help but trust him. My fiancé, at the time, had been bugging me about taking engagement photos for a long time and I hadn't even considered it until I came across Matt's Instagram page. When I saw his photos, I knew that there was no other photographer who'd be able to capture us being us as well as Matt could. I'd first contacted Matt about an engagement shoot and within the month of planning the engagement shoot, it turned into a surprise elopement, which ultimately turned into a small wedding. Matt was patient with me and flexible with all my changes, while also staying super comforting and supportive! It didn't hit me until the morning of my wedding that I hadn't been in front of a professional camera, and neither had my fiancé. I was worried about looking awkward and feeling uncomfortable but Matt captured all the best moments of my wedding. There were so many candid photos of pure happiness and laughter and my now husband and I are so happy with our photos. I work in the wedding industry and have seen many other photographers shoot. Matt didn't pose us in weird and awkward positions or make us do anything crazy like I've seen other photographers do. Matt is very natural and doesn't bark orders. His eye for photography is top notch and his work is art. It felt more so like we were just hanging out with a friend who happened to have a camera. He's awesome and amazing and we cannot be any more grateful!

My husband and I hired Matt to photograph our wedding last fall and we were blown away by his service. Not only is he very professional, but he is also extremely talented. He arrived early the day of our wedding and began shooting right away. He is very organized and we were impressed by how quickly he was able to get our group shots taken. Matt was the photographer for both our engagement shoot and wedding. From our very first meeting I could tell matt was more than just a photographer trying to make a buck- he had a true passion for photography, but also in meeting our needs. I cannot say enough good things about Matt. My wife and I hired him for our engagement shoot and our wedding, and both experiences were really enjoyable and relaxed. I don't have pictures taken often, and these were actually the first two shoots I had ever been a part of, but Matt made it all feel relaxing and fun. Not only were his directions incredibly clear, but he listened to what my wife and I had in mind for both shoots. Not only does he listen and guide really well, he is also really funny, feeling more like a friend than a hired photographer. It made for really fun photo shoots, and during the wedding in particular, taking the pictures was a lot of fun and a nice time to get away from all of the buzz for a little while. Lastly, he is very creative and has a keen artistic eye. Not only did we get particular shots we love, we also got several others that he thought of on the fly as we worked through our locations. Again, I can't say enough good things! He's an incredibly talented photographer, and an all around awesome great guy who will capture the sentimental moments of your wedding day and be a fun, relaxing and memorable part of the day as well.

I researched photographers high and low before I found Matt. Having a lot of photographers in my family there was a good amount of pressure to find the right one for our day. I finally came across Matt's photos and fell in love. They were the most solid, beautiful, artistic photos I had found that fit our style. We set up a meet at a coffee shop and talked for hours! He makes you feel very comfortable and not like a crazy bride with 100's of questions (which all you ladies know the feeling of if you're planning a wedding, lets not lie lol). I brought my step mom, since my (now) husband is in the Army and stationed out of state, and even she couldn't stop talking to him about photography, etc. He gave her some tips and good info about lighting and lenses and referred her to some books about photography. Who else would take the time to do that in the middle of a "business meet". We both knew he had to be our photographer instantly. We initially hired Matt only for our wedding photos. We wanted to do our engagements in Vegas so we didn't think he would be able to get out there during his busy season to shoot us but after mentioning it to him casually he wanted to go with us!! Turns out he loved Vegas like we do so we made a mini trip of it and were able to get to know him and become comfortable with him before the big day. And his price was still the same if not a little less than if we hired a photographer in Vegas. He was so much fun to work with! He's our age so he got what we were looking for, wasn't "out of touch" or old school like so many photographers I had found were. He was extremely easy to work with! After Vegas we were so excited to see what he was going to do at our wedding and we weren't disappointed. He brought an assistant with him to help shoot, who was a ton of fun as well, and they got some amazing shots! All my guests LOVED them both and even one of my bridesmaids who is getting married wanted to hire him, which she ended up doing. We got our previews so quick after the shoot and the entirety of the photos shortly after that. He put our wedding photos on a super cool wooden USB in an awesome little wooden box which he said he just started. Such a great keepsake of our day to keep our memories on! He even still helps me with random questions I have to this day and we got married June 12. I'm not sure how much of that is in his requirement but he is just a genuinely nice, caring guy who likes to put his clients before his paycheck. Everyone who sees our pictures fall in love and immediately ask who took them and I refer them to Matt! I hope to be able to use him again for some other occasion. We're excited to see him next year at our friend's wedding and see how their pictures turn out! Moral to this story brides.....you can't go wrong with Matt as your photographer and your man will love him just as much! So glad we went with him, no regrets! It feels like we gained a friend and photographer after!

I have been either a bridesmaid or guest at several weddings where Matthew Morgan has been the photographer. Several of my friends have used him and all of them have been extremely satisfied. His photos are gorgeous and he makes everyone feel relaxed on the day of. He gets the job done well but does not stress anyone out or add any negativity. I look forward to using him in the future at my own wedding.

Matt was one of our BEST vendors! This review will not do him any justice. We took a lot of time to talk with other photographers before we booked but Matt was the most real one...it seemed like others were saying anything to get our business and we did not feel that way at all with Matt. We definitely think we made the perfect choice when we booked Matthew Nigel Photography!! We were nervous to take engagement pictures but he made us so comfortable! It was 100+ degrees out that day and he was so upbeat and positive- our pictures exceeded our expectations. At the wedding we had issues with our venue and Matt jumped in did everything just to make sure we remained calm and comfortable (ex. He helped with crowd control when our guests were at our first look site- we didn't want anyone else to be apart of that special moment, Matt understood that right away and jumped into action, it meant the world to us- he totally didn't need to do that but he did because he is awesome)! The second photographer Bernard, was also amazing. We did not meet him prior to the wedding (because we trusted Matt's judgement) but the day of the wedding it felt like we knew him for a while and he took beautiful pictures! Again, we cannot write a review that would do our experience with Matt justice. We would enthusiastically recommend using Matthew Nigel Photography!

I met Matt at my close friend's wedding--he was her photographer! I liked how he was friendly and had a super relaxed vibe, great for a stressed out bride! As I got ready to choose the photographer for my own wedding, I perused through the portofolios of local photographers on The Knot and Wedding Wire. The photos taken by Matthew Nigel Photography looked brighter, more colorful, and more vivid than other photos; looking at the photos put a smile on my face and made me actually feel like I was a guest at the other weddings! They were just gorgeous. I knew I had to book Matt! Matt and his second photographer were very professional and punctual. They worked quickly to get all the pictures on my must-have list. Having a second photographer was great to get additional angles of the ceremony and to double-team shots of the cocktail hour while we were getting our pics taken after the ceremony. We are absolutely in love with our wedding photos! Matt is extremely knowledgeable and is a true professional. Thank you Matthew Nigel Photography!

One of the pieces of advice that I received most often about my wedding was to get a good photographer. It seemed like people couldn't stress enough the importance of getting quality photos of the event. Well the big day has come and gone and now I am just starting to really appreciate the advice I was given. Weddings are fast paced and packed full of touching moments, fun times, whiskey, and nerves. I remember the big moments clear as day, but I have trouble remembering some of the more subtle ones. The (excellent) photos of my wedding help my wife and I recall those smaller details. I have never considered myself a photogenic person. I am not good at posing, or smiling on command, or relaxing in front of a camera. Matthew and Bernard were able to help me with all of those things. They were fun to work with, they helped guide us in posing for photos, and they always seemed like they were in the right place at the right time. I really don't think that our wedding would have been as successful or fun without them there. Not only were they able to take great photos but they were also willing to work with us to make sure we got photos of everything we wanted. They took note of the shots that we wanted and made sure that we got them. They were accommodating when we threw something new at them. They were flexible in the hours that we asked them to work. They were amazing. We really could not be happier with our photos. We feel that Matt has been outstanding to work with. He is communicative (don't underestimate the value of someone who is responsive when you try to get in touch with them) and he was very fair in terms of negotiating times and prices. I 100% recommend Matthew Nigel. I will 100% continue to recommend him to anyone in need of a photographer. Sorry for the long review. Matt is great. If you are looking for a photographer you should seriously consider him.

Matthew Nigel Photography did my best friend's wedding 2 years before mine and I knew that whenever I got married, I would hire them to do mine as well because they are simply the best! They did such an amazing job at our wedding, making us all feel comfortable and creating an environment for us to have fun with the photos! Matt is an amazing photographer! We hired him to do a wedding shoot post wedding to get more photos we missed on our actual wedding day. I wouldn't second guess Matt one bit. He knows what he's doing and he's great at it! The quality in his work is worth every penny spent without a doubt. Another reason why I chose Matt was because I have never seen a photo of his I didn't like. He has an eye for creativeness and the skills that go along with it. I would recommend Matt to anyone!

We are using Matt for our engagement and wedding photos and our experience with him has been great thus far. We purchased a 4 hour engagement photo shoot and 8 hour wedding coverage for 2 photographers. When we met with Matt to discuss ideas and locations, he suggested we split the engagement shoot into two locations on two days to get the range of photos we desired. He went above and beyond and spent well over 4 hours with us on each day and drove all over the OC and to DTLA for us! He is very personal and so calm and comforting as well as FUN and professional! I was a bit anxious during our first shoot (makeup issues!) and he was so reassuring and helped to lighten the mood. He listens to your vision and isn't into overly posed pictures. I really felt like our pictures were a reflection of our personalities and interactions as a couple. His cost also includes the photos via dropbox/flashdrive, which I like because then I could order prints at my leisure or use the photos for invites/save the dates/thank yous. Matt is wonderful--he's got great artistic vision and he's an honest and genuine guy. I feel 100% comfortable entrusting him with the memories of our big day. Tip: He loves coffee...keep your photographer happy and caffeinated :)

The dude knows what he's doing. Being a photographer myself, I felt completely at ease handing the responsibility of capturing my wedding to Matt. He perfectly captured the feeling of our day, and the photographs looked incredible. He's incredibly easy to get along with, knows how to give you want you need (even if you don't exactly know what that thing is...), and he's just a lot of fun to work with.

Matthew had done a birthday shoot for us a few years ago and our engagement session as well. So it was a no brainer that we were going to ask him to do our wedding also. And boy am I SO glad we did. I'm convinced Matthew will photograph every big milestone for our family. He comes with a talent and personality you cannot compete with. He is dedicated to relate personally with those closely involved in the event, this made my job as well as my mom's and others' so easy. My parents were in the photography business for years and shot weddings often. They were highly impressed by Matthew's ability to capture the moments while allowing them to happen naturally. I look back on my wedding day often. It was only 9 months ago (almost exactly!) but the day is honestly such a blur. There are no words I could ever use to properly thank Matthew for what he created out of the captured moments on January 11th. He created memories and images that have already been lost in my mind. He was there in the places I couldn't be the day of and I am able to look at those images and see the hard work and smiles and tears of joy others shed while I said "I do." Matt is seriously so good at what he does no doubt about it! When it came to our wedding I didn't know where we'd have our wedding or the food etc but the first thing we knew is that we'd want Matt to be the photographer. He's so down to earth and easy to work with and replies promptly to any question you have. He cares about your vision and to capture your personality and style through his photography. Photography was my highest priority my overall wedding budget, and I know I got the best value with Matt. My biggest concern was the quick sunset in December and the fact the lighting wouldn't be good enough for the pictures. He made our pictures stunning in all types of lighting. He's very responsive, which was especially helpful when I was procrastinating on the list of "must-have" pictures. He got every picture I listed, but even captured my most favorite moments of the night. He put everyone in the wedding at ease, and understood the feel and atmosphere of the pictures that I wanted. He makes it fun, but still keeps it professional. I know I got the best value for my money for this wonderful and momentous occasion.

I have to say, everything came super easy to me while planning my wedding EXCEPT finding the photographer of my dreams! It meant so much to me to have timeless pictures of my most special day! These days everyone says they're a photographer! My mom was gifting our photographer to us which is the most killer present ever! So endless nights of stalking pictures from different photographers trying to find THE ONE felt never ending. I even had meetings with a couple and wasn't set! Finally I just chose and wasn't totally sold on it! Matt nigel was a super well known photographer around my area but somehow i forgot about him! Once I paid a downpayment with the other photographer I came across Matt and I KNEW I needed him to shoot my now husband and I! But since I already booked someone for my wedding we had him do our Engagment shoot! Oh my lord he was amazing! We had the best time in Santa Monica. He captured romantic and funny in one shoot! It was the perfect combination. He shot what was comfortable and not awkward! We laughed and had a great time. Leaving the shoot I was so sad that it was too late to book him for our wedding! So I talked to my mom and we decided to loose out on our downpayment and go with Matt nigel! It was the best decision I ever made! At our wedding he drove way out of his way to meet us at my salon to capture us getting ready! Then drove another hour to our venue! He even brought along a second shooter who I admired so much and is her own photographer! Matt was so calm and happy all day even when it was so hot! He stayed hours passed his agreement time! He cares so much about his clients that he will move mountains to make them happy. Going with Matt Nigel was the best decision we made! Everyone Is obsessed with our wedding pictures! I get so many compliments on them:) if your looking for someone to rock your world go with Matt Nigel! He won't disappoint you!

The pictures were amazing- my favorites were the candid pictures. I never saw Matt which was nice :) In all seriousness, he was creative and sensitive and everyone was featured. He took pictures of things i would not have thought about. They also turned them around very quickly which was a bonus. Matt comes highly recommended.

I love a photographer whose photos are a delicate combination of candid, classic & photojournalistic - Matthew Nigel Photography is exactly that. If you don't know much about wedding photography or have a bunch of questions like my husband and I did, Matt is more than willing to meet up to explain his approach. He understands how important your wedding day is and takes pride in his work. Regardless of anything I write in this review, Matt has a big heart for what he does. You will love him! Choosing Matt as your wedding photographer will probably be the best decision you make regarding your wedding. I was really paranoid about making sure I had amazing wedding photos because I am a photographer myself.And boy was I completely amazed by his work! Not only is he an amazing photographer which you will see by looking at his work alone, but he is so easy to get along with, so professional and has such a great presence when he is working. I have to say I was super nervous on my wedding day, and I remember him being so relaxed and telling me to just enjoy it and have fun. He literally captured every moment, and every little detail of our day. Seriously hire this guy! We got the half day package and ended up with tons of amazing pictures and our engagement pictures were wonderful as well. I would definitely say to go with the full day package, trust me, you want every moment to be captured.

I absolutely loved working with Matt. Not only did he take the most beautiful photos of every detail, but the whole process was great. He always responded quickly to each email/text/question, each "meeting" was basically a fun time to hangout with a friend and everyone at the wedding loved him too - especially Grandma Lil! :)

My wedding was July 13, 2013 also know as the best day ever :) My husband knew Matt from church and over the last few years Matt did photography at several of our friends weddings. We always admired our friends stunning photographs so it was a no brainer that we were gonna hire Matt, and boy am I glad we did! We did the full wedding day with engagement photo shoot package. The engagement shoot was amazing. I was so nervous but Matt made us feel totally comfortable and truly captured our love for each other. Our wedding day went just as smoothly. He arrived early and started taking pictures right away. His helper was fantastic too, he happily carried my train while we walked around taking pictures. The day of the wedding I was impressed with his professionalism and his eye for taking gorgeous photos. In our first meeting with him Matthew informed us that shortly after the wedding he would send us a few pictures to share. True to his word, our wedding ended at 11:30pm and by 1:30am I had received an e-mail from him with about 10 pictures which blew me away. My friends and family were pleasantly surprised and impressed that the morning after our wedding they were able to see some of stunning photos he took of us! Such a fan of him and his work!

Matt is a wonderful photographer. From the first time I saw his pictures almost two years ago, I new I wanted him to shoot my wedding (and I wasn't even close to engaged at the time). Matt has such a unique style and a great eye. But, at the same time, he is very open to your ideas and desires. He was more than happy to make sure that we got what we wanted while also putting in his own personal flair. He always kept us updated as to where he was in the process of getting our pictures to us. By the time he was done we had almost 1500 pictures!! They are all spectacular and he did an amazing job of capturing such an important day for us.

We hired Matt for the 2 BIGGEST events in our lives.. Our wedding day and though he claimed he wasn't a "baby photographer," for our newborn's first pictures. The attention to detail that he captures is what made us BEYOND happy with his pictures. We spent so much time preparing all these little details that let's face it, people don't even notice at weddings and when we got our pictures back and saw Matt had taken amazing shots of those "little things," that meant to world to us! Everytime we look through our wedding pictures, we feel that moment again! I know it sounds cheesy but his eye behind that camera is magical! So, when we had our first baby in february, we KNEW we had to have Matt photograph her to REALLY get what we were going for, (his fault for setting the bar so high!) Despite his disclaimer of "not being a baby photographer," we were well aware of his gift and he did it again... He delivered us with these breathless pictures that captured the magic! I HIGHLY recommend using Matt to EVERYONE that asks for a photographer referral. In fact, I demand it! Next monumental event in our lives, we'll be booking Matt again!! Choosing a photographer for our wedding was one of the most important things during the planning process and I knew hands down I was going to choose Matt to capture our wedding day! I asked Matt to take my college graduation photos a few years back and I've been hooked to his photography style ever since! Matt was our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. He is so talented! Our pictures turned out fantastic! During both of our photo sessions my husband and I felt so relaxed and it really came through in our pictures. My husband and I were so glad we chose Matt for our photography. Not only did he do an amazing job with our engagement photos as well as with our wedding photos, but his creativity was really impressive. As soon as we got engaged we knew we wanted Matt to do our pictures. And not just because he's a "friend with a camera." His style is right on point with what we were looking for to capture our special day, and he is one of the nicest guys around. So I first met Matt at my local Starbucks – we saw each other every day but he decided to ask how my day was and I mentioned that I was stressed over wedding planning. Even my family couldn’t stop raving about how impressed they were with his professionalism and later on the photographs themselves. He was responsive to our emails and delivered our pictures to us much sooner than we had anticipated. The quality of his work speaks for itself. Every moment of our story was beautifully told. He just did a phenomenal job capturing our special day and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to share our memories with. Thank you Matt!

We were so blessed to have hired Matt to photograph our engagement pictures and our wedding. He is seriously so talented and fun to work with. We had a last minute change of plans and decided to take our engagement pictures in Disneyland. It was a crowded day, and Matt was able to capture sweet moments where it seemed as if we had closed down the park to have a private photo shoot. Everyone was blown away with our shots and asked how we were able to close the park. Our wedding pictures came out even better if that's possible. He captured all the love and emotion that surrounded us that day. We had our wedding in Lake Arrowhead, and he captured the scenery so beautifully.
