Matthew Wheeler Photography

was the right person for the job. We planned our wedding in 8 weeks and he immediately stepped in to be part of the team. On our wedding day he walked in and immediately connected with our dog, ULLR, who was a big part of our day. When a dog rolls over for belly rubs when someone walks in the room, you know you picked a good person! Matthew and his team connected with my parents and brothers and all of our family instantly. He was dressed to kill… and I loved every part of that! His smile was genuine through out the entire day. We requested a quick photo session right after our wedding so we could get back to our guests and he completely delivered. He kept us on task. He truly seemed like he enjoyed being around our wedding guests and that made all the smiles and laughter truly authentic. Matthew Wheeler Photography truly went above and beyond. The sunlight hit my face during our vows and a member of the team stretched on his tippy toes holding a huge umbrella to ensure the lighting was perfect for the photos and it helped me to relish in the moment and laugh! The photos are vibrant and full of life. I highly recommend Matthew Wheeler Photography as his photos help you to relive your wedding day over and over. At the end of our wedding, I feel like Matthew became a friend!

Not only did he deliver absolutely stunning photos—far beyond anything we could’ve imagined—but he also helped us build out our vendor team by recommending others we ended up loving just as much. When we unexpectedly needed a videographer last minute, he stepped in and connected us with someone who turned out to be the perfect fit. Matthew was fun, easygoing, and kept the vibes light even when I was overheating and stressed. His second shooter and content creator were just as fabulous—professional, creative, and a joy to be around. And the best part? We got so many sneak peeks delivered within 48 hours! Reliving the day through those early previews was so special and exciting. Truly can’t recommend him enough!

ay and the full album less than 2 months later. We cannot stop staring and sharing these pictures. They are everything we could have imagined and more! If you are in need of a top-notch photographer - look no further!

pletely comfortable from the start. On the wedding day, our guests absolutely loved him and his second shooter—they were both so kind, professional, and fun to be around. Honestly, I want to be friends with them! Our sneak peek photos are absolutely stunning, and we can’t wait to see the full gallery. Highly recommend Matthew Wheeler Photography for anyone looking for a talented, easygoing photographer who truly captures the magic.

ith. If you want high quality photos and a team that makes everything feel so natural on your special day, look no further!

ore. Incredibly professional, he even worked overtime and exceeded our expectations with the timing and number of photos we received. Highly recommend!

d 1000% recommend to anyone looking!

who isn’t too fond of taking photos (typical guy here), Matthew made the process fun and enjoyable, keeping us laughing the entire time. His communication was excellent, and he brought so much energy and engagement to our day! Our entire wedding party LOVED him. We were thrilled to receive a sneak peek of our photos within 24 hours, and the full set was professionally edited and delivered in just a few weeks. We couldn't be happier with the results—Matthew did an outstanding job! There is no need to look any further for a wedding photographer, Matthew is the best!

os and our wedding photos. He went above and beyond what we expected. We got some sneak peek photos back incredibly fast, we were shocked! He truly does put his heart and soul into his work. We also wanted to thank Taylor his assistant on our wedding day. She was incredible as well and helped find the best lighting, angles, and poses. My husband and I are amazing with our sneak peek photos, we can't wait to see the rest! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend booking Matthew he is so knowledgeable about the wedding venues and knows the best places for photos!

urch ceremony in Cave Creek, and then to the McCormick Ranch magnificent reception in Scottsdale ... Matthew captured it all perfectly for my daughter and her new husband! He is professional, accommodating to custom requests, knowledgeable, generous with his time and expertise, and very kind. We very highly recommend Matthew and thank him for a job so well done preserving lasting memories of a truly spectacular wedding!

his Instagram. The way he made all the couples look absolutely amazing and his editing style was something we were looking to do for our wedding. We could not be happier with our choice. During our engagement photos, Matt made us feel right at home.. in the middle of the Botanical Gardens. We were shooting the pictures during the golden hour for that perfect lighting and even though we needed to move fast, Matt never made us feel rushed or nervous. He gave us tips on how to pose and even taught us the dip-kiss. Most weddings start with photos so if those aren’t on time, then you are going to be running around with your hair on fire. Yeah, Matt kept us on track. He gave clear instructions on when and where we needed to be, and even kept our wedding party focused. Our wedding was Saturday and by Monday, we had a sneak peek ready. We fell in love with the pictures! I would highly recommend Matt if you need a photographer. His easy going personality along with his professionalism and expertise really made our day all that more enjoyable.

e in awe. Not to mention he surprised us with Polaroids he took throughout the night also that we took home immediately. Three days letter we had about 100 photos to immediately look at. All in all we ended with over 700 photos that perfectly depicted our memories of the day. Picking a wedding photographer that has talent, humor/personality, able to direct, was incredibly important to us. Matthew exceeded our expectations in every single one!!! Check out his instagram because his work speaks for him. Run don’t walk to hire him!!

sent our sneak peaks two days after the weeding. His team captured the day beautifully, we are already reliving it through the photos. He was the ultimate hype man. We have soooo many amazing photos that everyone is obsessed with. We can't thank him enough! 100/10 recommend

d. Now, his work. The photos we received from our engagement photos and the sneak peeks photos that we received 48 hours after our wedding are absolute perfection. If you are hesitant to book Matthew, DON'T BE. He was so fun and personal and what we have received so far is beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you, thank you, thank you Matthew!

s (literally), he really does it all. During our engagement pics he got to know us and we knew he really cared. During our wedding, he managed to be head chef in a group where everyone thinks they belong in the kitchen. He even last minute suggested we do a bubble dance which ended up being some of our favorite photos! Not to mention anytime people tried to take pics with their phones, he took them for our guests on both the phone AND his camera. He gave us sneak peaks 12 hours after our wedding and even made an awesome reel of us! But most importantly, we lost one of our groomsmen soon after the wedding, and Matthew immediately stopped what he was doing to deliver us photos of him. He genuinely cares for the couples he’s shooting, and that shines through the photos he takes. Every person has mentioned how wonderful he was to interact with and how incredible his editing skills are. You simply can’t go wrong with Matthew!! Just go ahead and book him now so that you can have memories that last a lifetime.

in less than 24 hours so we had photos to post. His personality stood out in all the best ways at the wedding. I've never heard guests compliment the photographer before but everyone was loving him! The photos speak for themselves and were more than I could have imagined. Thank you for everything Matthew!

idn't need to look any further. He is very talented and passionate about what he does. Our sneak peak for our wedding phots is truly magnificent and it makes me so excited to see the rest of the photos in the coming months. I highly, highly recommend Matthew. You will not regret it!

ing photos day of. Matthew helped us plan out what photos were important to us for day of. He sent our sneak peaks so quickly and all of the photos are stunning!! 11/10! Matthew is amazing.

re and serious about photography and making his clients happy. He is very attentive and good at following up. Initially when we were considering photographers, Matt made sure to check in with us to see if we were interested in booking him, but he was not pushy about it. Matt offered us a discount when booking with him as he thought the three of us would be a great fit, which only sweetened the deal. Before our engagement session, I told Matt I was worried about an allergic reaction I had (though my talented hair and makeup artist took care in covering most of it), and when my husband and I walked up to Matt, he told us how great we looked. During the session, Matt kept things lighthearted and really made my husband and me comfortable. We had never gotten professional photos taken together or in general, so we felt a little nervous/awkward being the focal point of the lens. That quickly faded away, and we had a fun time, which translated well in our photos. As we all left the session, I expressed some insecurities I had, and Matt (along with my husband) quickly reassured me. Matt’s policy is to send sneak peek photos within 48 hours, but because he is not only outstanding and talented (plus I think he wanted to make me feel better), he sent me one or two photos a few hours later! I could not believe it. My friends and I were obsessed and could not wait to see more. He sent the rest of the sneak peeks the next day and then the full engagement gallery a few weeks later. Every time he sent photos, Matt would send sweet, complimentary messages. We love every single photo! The day of the wedding, I got a little upset due to the stress and other circumstances, and Matt (and his second shooters) were all very sweet, telling me not to rub my tears so I didn’t smudge my makeup. They were extremely supportive and reassuring. Matt was super accommodating the day of the wedding (and throughout this whole process), and my friends and family/wedding guests liked him. As always, he was fun, energetic, and calming all at once. It was important to me and my mom to welcome professional photos with our guests if they wanted them, and Matt was accommodating with my requests and discussed when it would be best to capture these. We agreed on cocktail hour before magic hour/sunset photos. Unsurprisingly, Matt got us sneak peeks of our wedding photos THE NEXT MORNING after having left our wedding at 10 p.m. the night before. The sneak peeks he shared were outstanding, and it was amazing to see how beautifully he captured our day and love. With the help of my hair and makeup artist as well, Matt depicted me and my husband so well and true to ourselves; I’ve never looked or felt better and most like me in my life. He delivered our full wedding gallery about seven weeks later, and he apologized for being “late.” We weren’t concerned at all and were shocked because he gave us 1,023 photos, which was much more than we expected. We love every single photo, and our friends and family think all the photos are stunning. If you need a hype man, efficient professional, or supportive friend, book Matt. You won’t regret it. I’m eagerly looking forward to hiring Matt again for other photography needs in the future!

the entire day. He just shot our engagement photos and most recently our wedding on 4/29/23, so many things we didn’t think of that he and his team absolutely nailed. Also, we received all of our pictures back in one month, unheard of!! Couldn’t recommend him enough!!!

to taken. Matthew doesn't just take amazing photos, he's also an amazing guy! He is a dream to work with and I will shout from the top of Camelback Mountain that he is the best. P.S. If he recommends you take engagement photos in Flagstaff, listen to him. It's worth it!

loved working with Matthew. It was the only time he enjoyed having his photo taken and I think it’s because Matthew is fun, takes photos quickly and efficiently, and is a chill and professional photographer. Without a doubt I would recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a photographer.

son too. He goes above and beyond to make sure the shots are perfect all while cracking jokes and making sure you're comfortable. A skill in itself! He's organized, listens to location suggestions, and can work under short timeframes while accommodating for a large number of family members. Not only do you get beautiful photos, but you get to see sneak peeks weeks before you would with other photographers! Matt made sure to have photos ready for us to view just hours after our wedding was over! What?! Who does that!? It was incredible and we are so grateful we could book him for both our engagement and wedding day. I must also mention his assistant who was equally amazing, kind, and helpful! They are a great team and I can't recommend him enough! Just book him! He's a great time with the added bonus of great photos!

ve with his style, got completely lost on his instagram. When I shared the style I was going for he excitedly promised to deliver. He gave me such helpful direction and prepared me for what to expect and how to be prepared in order to get the most out of our experience. The day of our wedding he kept everything moving along, he was focused and directive, which we very much needed with our group, but stayed friendly and funny! But then to receive sneak peeks next morning, are you kidding me?! 100 photos to relive our day while we were still on our cloud was everything and more! We are beyond lucky that we were able to have Matthew capture the most loving day of our lives. Navigating wedding details is tough but working with Matthew was an absolute pleasure and best decision we made. Our photos are beyond beautiful, they captured our VIBE perfectly! I’m so happy with just our sneaks, I can hardly wait for our album! I know they will more than I ever expected just like the photos I already have. The person, the photos, the experience is all top shelf!

sent yourself to the world. A friend embraces your vision. Matthew mastered all of this for me pre-shoot. During the shoot, Matthew sought to know and care for my wife and me. He asked questions, and he listened. If my wife had a hair askew, he told her. If my tailored pants rode up a half inch too high, he told me. A shoot with Matthew felt like having your best friend taking professional-grade pictures of you at a fun brunch. After the shoot, Matthew continued to amaze. Stunning preview photos. Frequent communication. Expert (but not unnatural) editing. Timely at all costs. A knockout final album. And, like the friend he’d become, Matthew asked what I thought. Matthew was in the military before becoming a full-time photographer. I applaud him for that service and the service he now provides our country. I thank him for treating my wife and me as friends—and cannot wait until our next shoot with him.

ures turn out beautiful and look very natural (but better!) He’s been so accommodating and flexible and just super easy and pleasant to work with. He’s also insanely quick - my only question is when does he sleep?!

d orange/green/pink tint to the photos that some photographers do. It was such a blessing to have had him for our engagement shoot and wedding. He is truly the best!

ully trusted him with everything after meeting very little. He is funny, attentive, and very just good at his job. He made sure to always be direct and help us pose through photos to get the best shots and not have to put any pressure on taking photos in general. He made the day smooth sailing and fun. I truly felt he truly captured our love and made sure to not miss a single moment! He embraced the day and I would definitely hire again

de the day so special. We had our wedding at the Desert Botanical Garden and nobody knows that venue like Matthew! We will cherish our photos forever. Thank you Matthew!

s he did on our wedding night but he captured even more than I could ask for! The quality and talent behind all of the photos we got back are beyond incredible and everyone I’ve shown has been absolutely blown away!! He was a real trooper for us and kept us laughing all the way through our time with him, and we are so thankful to have found him!

ple that doesn’t get in front of a camera often, Matt made us feel completely comfortable and gave clear instructions on how to pose for each shot. On the day of wedding, he was well coordinated and extremely caring of the time we had to get great shots both before and after the ceremony. The resulting images were everything we could have asked for and more! We appreciate the time and effort he put into our wedding and we are sure future customers of his will too!

thew is a hard-worker, turns around work quickly, is kind, is funny, and most importantly, knows how to take phenomenal photos. He went so out of the way in so many small ways for us - as one example, he was excited about coming out to San Francisco to shoot our engagement photos (where he was all too generous on the amount of time we spent with him). Just work with Matthew if you can - he is the best option. :)

ay because Matthew did such an incredible job capturing all the big and small moments. Matthew was very communicative through the whole process and truly fun to work with. We did our engagement photos with him as well, and on our wedding day he felt like a friend there with us, making us completely at ease. Matthew took all our notes and delivered a gallery even more beautiful than I ever imagined. Thank you, Matthew!

to talk to. Matthew fit right into our wedding party. We felt completely ourselves while we were taking photos. (2) He is adventurous and accommodating. My husband wanted to venture off into the brush to take photos. When I say brush, I mean like a 15 minute walk into cactuses and prickly bushes. Matthew was all for it, and we got FANTASTIC shots. (3) He is timely and communicative. He jumped on a FaceTime whenever we wanted to ask him about a photo site, and he scoped out the area prior to our wedding. Definitely hire him for your next event!!

ncredibly easy and fun to work with! He has great communication and is easy to reach if we ever had a question. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer.

comfortable and excited for our big day! On our actual wedding day Matthew captured the most special and intimate moments, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have those photos to look back on forever. Matthew was the cherry on top of our amazing day, and Im thrilled with the way that our photos turned out. Absolutely incredible!

of the camera. We totally trusted him to make us look natural and capture our love and he did exactly that. Matthew knows Desert Botanical Gardens inside and out, so choosing him for our intimate DBG ceremony was a no-brainer. We added a Flagstaff engagement session and our dinner reception at The Canal Club and he made each location look spectacular. His turnaround time was also wildly fast. Sneak peaks were in our inbox before we were home from Flagstaff and again before we came home from our wedding after party. It’s truly unreal how he works so quickly and the photos are *absolutely stunning*. If you get the chance, book Matthew and don’t look back! Thanks for everything, Matthew, we love our photos and hope to work with you again!!

, traveled to two different destinations for photos, would coach us for the best pictures, and even helped me with flowers for my big day! I wouldn’t have changed a single thing and it really was the most perfect day! Thank you Matthew! You’re the best!

tly. He genuinely produced breathtaking photos of all guests and loved ones. Memories that will last forever. Thank you to Matthew and his dedication to his work. He is a true artist. I would highly recommend his service. He is also just a hell of a guy. Honored that he was able to work with us.

You’re passion and ability to see through the lens while making his surrounding work for “the shot” is second to none. You’ve been capturing moments and life’s journey for my family coming on 4 years now and we will not use anyone else. It’s always a pleasure working with you and I love not having to worry about anything. Matthew is highly recommend. The Salinas’s

He pays close attention to details and he knows how to make you feel comfortable and confident. He captures the best version of the moment - the lighting, the colors, the genuine emotions; it is so true to place and people. He brings out the best in everyone, he captures every important moment, and he has so much fun while doing it. He's extremely passionate about photography and it shows - you are getting someone that truly cares about you and your day. He sends you highlights of your day right away, which is something that is so special to share immediately. My family, friends, and guest have been beyond impressed with the photos. I seriously can't recommend him enough. I got married at the Desert Botanical Garden and he is the only person you should consider if you get married there because he knows all of the photo locations and exact timing of the sun. It was impressive to watch him work and I am SO grateful to have found such an awesome photographer and friend! Matthew is the BEST!

otos envisioning what my wedding day would look like, and then I stumbled upon some amazing photography that absolutely stood out against the rest. I contacted the venue coordinator to figure out who the photographer was, got Matthew’s name and contact information, and immediately knew I NEEDED him to be our photographer and booked. Let me tell you, that was the best decision I made. Matthew’s talent speaks for itself, I’m in still in awe over our wedding gallery (and engagement pictures). He’s fun, personable, and obviously very passionate about his clients and producing stunning shots. He delivered us like 100 sneak peak pictures too within 24 hour of our wedding - What a treat! Matthew is mega talented, but also really good at giving direction (my husband and I aren’t “naturals” in front of the camera, but he sure made us look like we were!) Anyways, moral of the story, BOOK MATTHEW FOR YOUR PHOTOS. You will not regret it.

res the beauty of the surrounding area, and is fantastic in ensuring that we are just in the right spot. He does such a nice job running point in that it took all the weight off of us. There isn't a single combination/photo that Matthew did not capture. Matthew, thanks a ton! You played a big role in making our wedding day the best day of our lives, and giving us an opportunity to reminisce on every part of our special day because of your awesome photos!

nce so easy. My husband (still feels weird to say now!) and I aren't ones to take pictures very often, so during our engagement session when we first met Matthew, he helped by giving us direction on everything such as how to pose, where to look, etc. And let me tell you, we continue to get compliments on our engagement photos! He is great with communication and answered all of my questions right down to a couple of nights before the wedding. We also had a second shooter, Taylor, who worked with Matthew and she was amazing as well. Again, I have nothing but positive things to say and highly recommend hiring Matthew for your wedding.

fortable and at ease during our engagement photos and our wedding day and all of his work is stunning. We have absolutely loved working with Matthew and getting to know him. 10/10 would recommend!!
