Also knowing they had multiple activities for entertainment outside the wedding was such a stress reliever. As the bride I did not have to worry about entertaining any of the guests. The front desk staff were great, the waitresses at the restaurant, and the amenities we had in the cabins were also fantastic. The Lodge made our wedding day so perfect it does not even feel real.

til the very end of our big day, everything was beyond what we could have hoped for. A huge thank you goes to their Catering and Sales Manager, Julia Larsen. Julia guided us through every step of the planning process and consistently went above and beyond for us. No matter how many emails, questions, or clarifications we needed, she always responded quickly, kindly, and thoroughly. She explained anything my husband and I were unsure about, never once making us feel overwhelmed. And the fact that she was there on our actual wedding day—making sure everything was running smoothly—meant the world to us. Her presence was such a comfort and truly made the day seamless. The venue itself was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. All week long the forecast called for nonstop downpours, but the rain held off and the day turned out perfect. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more stunning setting—especially with those gorgeous willow trees that made our photos (and our ceremony!) feel straight out of a fairytale. Every single staff member who played a role in our wedding was so helpful, attentive, and kind. You can tell this team genuinely cares about their couples and takes pride in making each wedding special. Choosing Maumee Bay State Park was one of the best decisions we made. or ceremony and July tent reception. The venue offered an all-in-one local for our guest where they could stay and enjoy the beautiful lakeside experience. Our family stayed in the reunion cabin, which offered a high-quality area to prepare on the days before the wedding and rest after. The food was wonderful as well. I most appreciated Julia and the team's help on the day of. The weather was questionable, and we had to be flexible moving the ceremony inside of the tent. She checked in several times throughout the event making sure my guests and I were comfortable. It was fun to get back to the cabin around 2 a.m. to see a special gift and appetizers awaiting us along with our cake all boxed up (highly recommend a smaller cutting cake boxed back to your room for you to enjoy and guest cake to be set out), after enjoying our closest friends at the Icebreaker Lounge. The natural beauty of the lodge, service, and amenities (golf!) are unmatched for our area. Thank you, Maumee Bay, for an unforgettable weekend full of memories that we can continue visiting for many anniversaries to come!

d have not asked for a better person to have on throughout the wedding process and even on the wedding day. She just made everything SO smooth, every single request I had she took care of, she went ABOVE and BEYOND which is exactly what every bride wants! The venue itself, we did the north Lawn for the ceremony and the tent for the reception with 2 heaters ( we got married in April ), it was cold that day; however, Julia asked if we wanted to move the ceremony inside, we ended up doing the ceremony outside, the lake Erie background just was so gorgeous still. The food, servers, and reception tent were all top notch! Also, the ceremony space, reception, and hotel all being on the same property just was a game changer! All of the out of town guest which was nearly 80%, they made a weekend out of it and went to the imagination station. We also golfed on Friday before rehearsal dinner with the bridal party and that was a great course as well.

the ability to have the wedding, reception, and the hotel all in one place was a game changer. I also loved the bar for after the reception as a place to keep the party going! Julia in particular was really great at communicating with me and when we had a hiccup in the process Julia went above and beyond to make it right! I still can’t get over how delicious the food was too! If Maumee Bay is in your budget I can’t recommend it enough!

would personally call us to draw up the contract when we are 15 months out. She never called, we called every day twice a day and she would not answer. After having a family friend call (so she didn't recognize the number) she finally answered and said she gave our wedding date to someone else. Not only were we lied to but also ignored for 2 weeks so she didn't have to tell us the truth. Please go anywhere else

nues in the area that my husband and I looked at. HOWEVER, we had SERIOUS communication issues with the wedding/event managers and staff at Maumee Bay throughout the last few MONTHS leading up to the wedding day. So much so that details for the wedding day were not finalized until the wednesday/thursday before the wedding. Planning had been pretty stress free up until these issues. We ended up having to quickly order a new cake & desserts from an outside bakery less than 2 weeks before our wedding because the pastry chef at Maumee Bay (who was supposed to be providing the cake) had retired and not communicated this with any of her clients. Other Maumee Bay staff had also failed to communicate that to us and we only found out by arriving at Maumee Bay in person (to try to talk to someone for answers) and asking several Maumee Bay staff if they could tell us what was going on. On top of this, Maumee Bay also tried overcharging us by several THOUSANDS of dollars and we were only given the correct balance when we asked for an itemized list of what we were paying for. At the end of it all, I loved how picturesque Maumee Bay was and our guests loved everything about it however, I was not happy with the wedding/event management and staff and the lack of communication.

m wedding absolutely came true thanks to Kendra and staff. They are so incredibly organized and so quick to respond. The second I saw Kendra the day of she didn't hesitate to ask what I needed and delivered within a matter of seconds. They are professional, caring and extremely good at what they do. Any questions we had were answered in great detail, and I was confident going into the day of the wedding knowing that everything was taken care of! My guests won't stop talking about how great the food and drinks were and how accommodating the staff was! My husband's side of the wedding had to travel from North Carolina so it was important to us that we had a venue that was all-inclusive and Maumee Bay is absolutely the best choice for that! They had both rooms and cabins available for our guests to stay, as well as all the amenities you could dream of. Once my guests arrived, they didn't have to go anywhere else which was so convenient! The only thing I was worried about was that they didn't have a bridal suite for the wedding party to get ready- but it ended up being no problem! The guys got ready in one of the groomsmen's cabins, and the bridal suite you get that's included in the cost was plenty big enough for my bridal party of 11 girls!! If you're looking for a waterside all-inclusive venue, I 10/10 recommend Maumee Bay!!!

rning phone calls, answering questions, and coordinating with other vendors. There are lots of options to choose from for meals and appetizers, and we received many compliments on the food. Cons: Another reason we selected Maumee Bay was because we wanted to have all our guests stay overnight in the lodge. What we didn't realize was that there are an extremely limited number of rooms available for the summer, and often rooms are booked a year in advance. Therefore, the majority of our guests had to find an alternate hotel. Also, another downside is that there isn't a great alternative for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the event of rain. Their rain plan is to herd everyone into an undecorated, empty ballroom and preform the ceremony there- which is extremely disappointing for brides who have been planning for an outdoor wedding.

mee Bay. We had a contract stating the number of people we were inviting and the estimated payments we had to make before the wedding. A month before the wedding we were told that the tent was not meant to hold 175 guests, 150 is ideally the max. However, we had a contract stating 175 for over a year prior to this and had many conversations with the wedding coordinators there planning for this number of guest. Unfortunatley there had been three different wedding coordinators we had to deal with that each had told us different things. In addition maybe two weeks before the wedding I was told that we owed more money because even though the contract states 175 guest they had only based the dinner on 150 guest. The day after the wedding we woke up to a huge bar tab that they immediately charged my credit card on file for. Even though we had already paid off what we had to according to the contract, because it's all based on an "estimate" that means they can basically charge whatever they want afterwards and say that you had gone over what they had estimated what you would owe. Like I said, it is beautiful but I would use them at your own risk.

as difficult to reach. I was not able to order food until 3 days before the wedding and two days before I wasn't sure if the reception could be moved inside or not. The staff on the day of did not provide refills of water and disappeared after dinner was served. The bar tab was confusing and I am fairly certain there were extra drinks added. Lemonade and ice tea were supposed to be included as well as coffee on request. People complained that the coffee was hard to get and no one knew about the lemonade or ice tea because it was put behind the bar. Additionally, the staff did not put out enough chairs for the ceremony and people had to stand. On the plus side the park was beautiful!

The view is great and they try working with you as much as possible...but a lot of things are set in stone with them...like what they provide and will do for you during the ceremony and reception and they make no exceptions what-so-ever. So take it or leave it.

On the day of the reception I walked into the hall to speak to the manager on duty about my favors and I was given the "yeah ok" while she went on with her personal conversation. Not impressed!
