Built in 1929, the historic Maxwelton Braes Lodge and Golf Course is located in beautiful Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin on the south end of town near the shores of Lake Michigan. Situated in the middle of a gorgeous 18-hole golf course, it offers sweeping views of Door County beauty in any season.
Since the 1930s people have come to Maxwelton Braes to exchange vows, create memories, and rekindle romances. With indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, onsite lodging for up to 20, golf, tennis, and pickle ball courts, Maxwelton can host any size event. In addition to onsite recreation, the Lodge features the onsite bar MAX.

ost thoughtful person who thought of every detail and made the day go smoothly. She worked directly with our vendors to cut down on the number of things we had to do and made really helpful suggestions about the timeline and process. Adam is a fantastic chef and our guests were raving about the food all day. He accommodated vegetarians, vegans, gluten free guests, and dairy intolerant guests all at the same time and it was all wonderful. Barb reached out to us and made sure we were doing well throughout the process and made sure we were able to locate vendors we might need. All the staff was very accommodating for our different guest needs and checked in several times before, during, and after the day to make sure we were happy with everything. Of course, we were overjoyed! The property is beautifully maintained and because we had the property to ourselves for the whole day and we could bring setup items beforehand, we were able to relax on the day of our wedding and get more quality time with our family and friends. They have maintained all the vintage charm of the property while incorporating modern convenience and the rooms are all unique and beautifully decorated. The grounds are perfect for photos that will last a lifetime. After the wedding, some of our guests stayed to spend time on the porch and enjoy the gas fire pit in the beautiful rocking chairs on the patio. It was comfortable without losing sophistication and the whole place invites people to come, sit, stay a while. If you are looking for a place for your wedding-or any event-and want to avoid stress, and feel like you are getting a place all your own, this is your spot.

r dream wedding to life was one of the number one selling points for us. We were able to bring in all of our decorations, choose any caterer, and we were provided with many different drink packages. Our wedding coordinator, Angelika was magnificent - making sure every detail, big or small was not overlooked. We loved getting use of the entire grounds, with no concern of public disruption and our wedding party was able to stay on site with us. We utilized the downstairs bar for both our cocktail hour and after party and it was a hit. The bartenders catered to our every need. I wish we could celebrate our wedding all over again!
