May River Made Up

When I met Amanda for the first time, I immediately knew she was the stylist and makeup artist for me. Her sense of humor, kindness, flexibility, and expertise are unmatched. I have very dry, sensitive skin and am also very fair complected. Amanda worked with me to find the best makeup for my skin, and she gave me her phone number in case I had any questions. She was there every step of way! On the day of the wedding, when Amanda entered the room, talk about zen vibes with a spark of humor! All of my bridesmaids loved her, and she made me feel like the most beautiful person in the world. When I saw myself in the mirror that day, I almost cried. Amanda and her team were incredible, and if I could have her by my side doing my hair and makeup everyday, I would. If you're looking for someone to make you feel and look your best, look no further. Amanda and her team are incredible.

Amanda was great to work with. I came in to Hilton Head Island from out of town, so I was unable to have a trial. I was very nervous but Amanda reassured me throughout the process and I am very happy with how it turned out! My makeup lasted the whole day. I had a hiccup with my hair: she brought someone with her who did my hair and I wasn’t happy with the first style she did - I think a trial would have avoided that issue. But she was very quick and willing to fix my hair to a style that was closer to what I wanted and I am very pleased with how it turned out! Thank you Amanda for making me feel beautiful for my wedding!

I relied on referrals for the majority of my wedding vendors in Hilton Head. Amanda and her crew came highly recommended and I could not agree more! Her pricing is very reasonable and the hair/make up is amazing. They arrived on time to the hotel and were very enjoyable to be around. She even allowed my pup to sit on my lap while doing my make up=) I would use her and her team again in a heartbeat!

Amanda came to my villa and spray tanned me and it was soo simple and convenient. She was extremely kind and professional- plus very reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend her to anyone that is in need of a spray tan. My color looks amazing and very natural. Totally worth the money!!!

Amanda with May River Made Up did an amazing job with my make up! I don't wear much in general and she did exactly what I asked and more! I found Amanda last minute and she rolled out the red carpet for me and came to my house to do my make up before my wedding. She answered all my questions and was super friendly! Her skills are delicate with the air brush and especially with eyelash extenders! I recommend 100% every time!

May River Made Up did an amazing job on our hair and make-up for my brother's wedding! The artist took the time to understand our vision and provide results that played to everyone's unique style. Not only were they timely and professionally, but they also made it easy going and fun.

May River Made Up was great! Sarah and Becky did a great job preparing us for the big day. Sarah listened to all of my worries and made sure my look would last all night. She also packed me an emergency kit with lipstick in it which was just so sweet!! Very highly recommended!!

I had Amanda and Sarah for hair and makeup for myself, my mother, mother-in-law, and five bridesmaids (I did my bridesmaids' hair). They arrived on time, were kind and professional. I had a trial run before, and I'm glad I did as I completely changed my look for the day. I thought my bridesmaids looked beautiful with their makeup! I didn't really love my hair or makeup though. As someone who does hair and loves makeup, I think I'm just highly picky and also rather critical of myself. Everyone loved my hair and makeup so I know they did a great job - I think I would just tweek some things if I could go back. Overall, the ladies were great, remained on schedule, were flexible, and had kind attitudes.

My bridal party, mother of the bride, mother of the groom and grandmothers were all part of our hair and make-up schedule. The girls did a great job coordinating our schedule (when nothing went as planned.) They were on time and made every effort to make everything perfect! Amanda did my trial and made suggestions, even sent me ideas for hair pieces afterwards! Our make-up looked flawless and lasted all night! Would highly recommend!

I got married this past Saturday, on June 1st and I was completely blown away by the talent of my make up artist Amanda as well as the my hairstylist Amanda. They did an absolutely outstanding job. All of my bridesmaids looked and felt amazing. Would highly recommend! Love love love!

Every woman wants to feel their most beautiful on their wedding day! I most absolutely without a doubt DID! This is one detail I did not have to worry about on our special day! Amanda, the owner, was incredibly easy to work with and super responsive! We live out of town and she helped schedule a hair and make up trial during a holiday weekend when we were in town visiting family! Becky did my HAMU and also Kathleen worked with my family and bridesmaids! They were simply amazing! I loved that they were able to create the exact look we wanted!

AMAZING SERVICE. From the beginning to the end the customer service was amazing by all involved. Reasonable pricing vs. many others in our area. Communication was stellar with Amanda and Sarah. Both were always prompt and helpful. Sarah did a wonderful job on my hair, makeup, my bridesmaids makeup and my flower girls hair. I would recommend May River Made Up to anyone asking me for a referral.

Amazing service, reasonable prices and over-the-top professionalism and friendliness. Amanda and Beck were excellent helping me plan and execute my hair and make up (from the distance and with no time for trials) for our oceanfront vows' renewal ceremony. Despite being in a bind to find my hair and make-up vendor, the threat of the hurricane and working long distance, they were both very helpful and flexible. Becky's hair (I wore a natural flowers crown and a 2-tie cathedral length veil) and make-up were gorgeous, and she brought to life my vision perfectly. Since it was a 2 people event, she was also extremely helpful while I was getting ready and always tending to last minute retouches before my walk to the beach. I absolutely love working with them and highly recommend them. If you have not found you hair and make up artist for your low country wedding, look no more!

I am so over the moon happy with my experience with May River Made Up. They did such an amazing job with our hair and makeup! Everyone looked beautiful, and Amanda and Becky fit right in with us girls while we were getting ready. Amazing.. working long distance was my biggest fear about everything coming together, but i was beyond happy with the services from May River Made Up.. Amanda and her staff did an amazing job, they truly made all my girls and myself look like Princess!!

I cannot give enough positive feedback on my experience with May River Made Up. My husband and I got married late last year and I was so worried about the humidity affecting my makeup (we got married in Jamaica). Amanda assured me that she could provide me the coverage I needed for my problem skin while also maintaining a natural, dewy look. She nailed it! I loved my makeup and it held up really well in the heat...and after dancing :) I felt so beautiful and confident. Our wedding was a blast and Amanda helped my our big day even more special.

From my bridal portraits to the wedding (and many text and picture messages in between), the two Amanda's and Kathleen knew exactly what to do to make me and my girls look and feel beautiful! I couldn't have been happier with my decision to make them part of my big day! I have also gotten spray tans from Amanda on several occasions and I have always looked natural, which is awesome with my fair complexion.

Amanda coordinated everything directly with me, and made the hair and makeup sing 🎶 on our wedding day. I had a rather large bridal party and I was impressed how easily they swooped in and out and made us all look beautiful. The makeup even held late into the evening, after tears, and a light spring shower....they say that’s good luck right? I would recommend May River a thousand times over. Very happy!

I hired Amanda in November to do the makeup for me and my bridal party for my wedding and I could not have been happier! Everyone looked flawless and I couldn't believe how well the makeup stayed. It made it through golf carts, a ferry ride, tons of tears and a night of dancing. Also, Amanda's relaxed demeanor was such a huge plus on a day that is so chaotic and high stress. I would recommend her a thousand times over!

Amanda and Chrissy did an AMAZING job with all of our hair and makeup for my wedding a few weeks ago! Hours later, dancing our tails off in the hot summer heat, and everyone still looked picture perfect. I highly recommend them to all future bridal parties needing a glam squad!

Love May River Made Up! Amanda made my wedding day so beautiful, easy and stress free! My bridesmaids and mother/ MIL all had their makeup done and it was amazing. The trial was fun and laid back and the day of my wedding, turned out just like the trial. I was so thankful to have such a great laid back makeup artist and will treasure the photos for years to come.
