Maya Papaya Pictures

disappoint.  A couple things to know about working with Maya: - She is organized, reliable, and the perfect mix of professional and fun. - Her eye is insane and she WILL go the extra mile to get the perfect shot. - She will hype you up like no other and make you feel so beautiful/handsome/confident. - She works fast while maintaining superior quality. Like we got sneak peeks less than 24 hours after our engagement shoot, and a few DAYS after our wedding, which to my knowledge is unheard of.  - Her energy is magnetic and she is the physical manifestation of a beam of light.  I could write a novel about how much myself, my husband, and our friends and family loved working with Maya. She helped make our entire marriage experience so special and I can’t thank her enough for that. We love you Maya!!!

the very next morning after the wedding and were just obsessed. We absolute LOVED working with Maya.

last minute family shots but still kept us on our timeline. It has been two years and I’m still in love with all of the photos and love getting to relive my wedding day through her lense.

s her couples when things inevitably happen day-of the wedding to keep us happy and keep us on schedule!! She really connects with her couples and it shows so much in her photos. Our engagement and wedding photos are just phenomenal. Her prompts help you feel comfy and result in gorgeous photos. Everyone needs a Maya on the biggest days of their lives!!!! Go book her!!

part of the celebration. Personable, fun, and incredibly engaging, you brought so much warmth and energy to the day. Thank you for capturing the moments and helping create them. The photos will be cherished, but so will your presence!

went above and beyond—not only capturing the most beautiful moments, but also helping with little things like carrying my dress and gently managing family members when needed. Maya has an amazing way of giving direction while still making every photo feel natural and candid. Looking back, I’m so grateful to have had someone who not only documented our wedding so perfectly, but also made the day itself more special. We can’t recommend her enough!

ly is Maya professional and so easy to work with, she also has such an incredible, infectious energy that makes the whole experience amazing! You can tell she loves her work and actually cares about your day! Her work is top notch, the vibes are top notch, and you'd be in the best hands! Get Maya for your wedding or anything else you'd want to elevate!

il, ensuring we had everything we needed and validating any worries or concerns we had along the way. Our wedding gallery exceeded every expectation, capturing our special day in the most beautiful and authentic way. Maya was not just a photographer, she was truly a lifesaver. She kept me calm and present amidst the stress and chaos, and somehow made my husband, who hates getting his picture taken, feel completely comfortable, relaxed, and even have fun with it! She also made sure that every special, sentimental moment we had carefully planned into our day was captured flawlessly. That means the world to us, especially now, as both of our grandmas have since become very sick. Maya preserved those moments with them so beautifully, and now we have those memories to cherish forever. Her presence and light were felt by everyone, and she became such a highlight of our day that we couldn’t imagine it without her. Honestly, if we could re-live our wedding over and over again, a huge reason would be because of Maya. Maya and her team were a blast to work with, they weren’t just behind the camera but right there with us, even hitting the dance floor and celebrating with our family, which remains one of our favorite memories. Guests still compliment us on how incredible our photographers were. Truly, Maya is so much more than just a wedding photographer, she curates the entire wedding experience. She is the ultimate wedding guru, guiding the day to flow in the best way possible. If you want your wedding to not only be beautifully documented but also to feel seamless, joyful, and stress-free, Maya is the only option. I wouldn’t change a single thing, and honestly, I would have wanted her there as a guest even without the camera, she is that wonderful!

ars! She instantly calm our nerves and the pictures better than we could ever have imagined. Then for the wedding…OMG! She captured EVERYTHING! She knew exactly what time the sun would be in the perfect spot for amazing pictures, she wasn’t afraid to tell us where to stand or look, and she got on the dance floor with all of our family and friends for the most BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS! We Highly Recommend Maya to anyone looking for the perfect photographer! Thank you again Maya!! We still Gush over them! ❤️❤️❤️

ped us figure out what we wanted, curated spots to take pictures before our elopement and also managed family members when they wanted that extra shot so beautifully. She helped our day be stress free and we ended up with the most beautiful photos. We have a book of them on our table that so many rave about.

work and goes over and beyond! She was easy to work with, helped me plan my whole elopement schedule, ensured we captured the perfect moments, and was such a support system through my entire day. My whole family loved her and she helped everyone to break out of their shell by delivering so much excitement, energy, and overall positive vibes throughout the whole day. I am recommending Maya to anyone and everyone and I couldn’t be more grateful to have shared my day with her! Her pictures will be looked back on by myself and my entire family forever and they couldn’t be more beautiful!

der audience… we were a small party but one with multiple challenges and Maya made it fun, entertaining, and exciting. She got everyone to participate no matter how much they declined. I’m so grateful that we found Maya! She’s full of energy and she goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is included, double checks with the bride and groom to make sure that we got everything covered that we wanted. By the end of our initial interview with her, she already felt like part of the family… if I had to do it all over again, I would hire her in a hot second!!! (I'll probably created reasons to hire her brilliance again.) Don’t let this one get by!!! Every BRIDE needs a MAYA!!! If I have a need to hire a photographer again, for any reason, I’ll be calling Maya!!! (I’ll probably create reasons just so I can hire her brilliance again) She will capture moments you didn’t realize existed, it’s so heartwarming to see all the smiles captured during the “candid moments”. Our Best Man even commented on how much we were all smiling during the entire day, and how refreshing it was to see so many happy people! We didn’t just have a wedding, we had an experience! Thank you Maya for everything you did to make our day so extraordinary!!!

nts for our intimate elopement in Nov 2023. Then we had the pleasure of working with her and her team at our big anniversary wedding in Nov 2024. In the months leading up to the wedding, I remember shooting Maya a text to get her opinion on something. Not only did she respond right away, but she facetimed me to catch up and helped me get answers to even more questions I had! She's not just a photographer, but she is on your team to make sure you have the most fun time on your big day and ensures the day runs as smoothly as possible. She makes taking photos feel so much fun and easy. My husband and I would definitely define ourselves as "camera shy" but Maya provides an environment that allows you and your partner to just be yourselves and enjoy time together. She is organized and makes sure to get all the family photos you want and need. She's great at directing and guiding people without feeling pushy or pressured. Her work speaks for itself. I am obsessed with all of the wedding photos we have received from both events! I'm glad we will get to look back at all of these photos to remember two of the best days of our lives.

ures, will I know what to do- she’s got them covered. She made me and my very photo-shy husband feel comfortable and actually ensured we have fun with things, she expertly herded the cats that are our extended families, and she gently directs without being overbearing. We booked her and her team for everything, including videography and everyone she brought was just as incredible, Rachel and Aaron were a complete delight, professional above all, but also just so fun. I can’t say enough good things; if you want your wedding to feel like it’s being photographed by a friend who also happens to be a wildly talented photographer, go for it, Maya is your person.

done with her, and I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect for the job. She’s this incredible blend of professional and fun, her expert opinion and gentle guidance resulting in the most stunning pictures. Her bubbly personality made myself, my wife and everyone feel so comfortable and like we all were shining behind her lens. Everyone at our wedding had a blast dancing with and smiling for her, and she truly felt like one of our own, effortlessly blending in with our family and friends. As an LGBTQ+ friendly photographer, she was so encouraging of showing what our unique love looked like with heaps of kindness and acceptance. I would have Maya photograph our entire lives if we could! Anyone who chooses to work with her for engagement or wedding photos (or any, really) will not regret the choice and cherish it all for years to come! Thanks Maya, love you girl!

she ensure the highest quality, she settled for nothing less than the best. She is an outright expert with the camera, and knows exactly how to not only compose the perfect shot but to make it a work of art as well. Furthermore, any nerves we had about making sure the day went off right were instantly quashed by her wonderful energy and humor which really made the most special day even more special. Folks, don't leave the most special day in our lives up to chance. Make it easy on yourselves, hire Maya. Her work speaks for itself.

nd cons to different months to pick a date based on our vision. We then got to meet her for engagement pictures. She made the process so smooth and put us at ease, also helped navigate the “what do I do with my hands.” As our wedding was approaching, we were able to get on a couple of zoom calls to be sure we had all the groups of pictures we wanted planned ahead (when you have a big family this was SUPER helpful to keep things organized and not miss anyone). Then came wedding day, wow, Maya and her assistant Courtney were just wonderful. Organized and supportive all along the way. She kept open communication with the coordinator and DJ at all times too so we were all on the same page. They laughed with us, cried with us, and danced with us. My friends and family kept mentioning what a delight they both were as well. I would recommend Maya 1000 times over. She is kind, easy going, makes everyone feel comfortable, and just a bright light that shines. Oh and did I mention her photos come out so stunning?! Our pictures are everything we could’ve ever hoped for. Thank you for everything!

ve to the detail and wants of the bride/groom, produces an excellent product, and is an absolutely lovely human to want to be around!

d laugh around her. She quickly feels like family. Not only does she have the most insanely wonderful personality that brightens the room but her photos she took are STUNNING! She really has such an eye for capturing the perfect moments and the quality and colors are just perfect. Myself, my now husband, and friends and family were just in awe when I showed them. I just got married two days ago and the day after my wedding she sent me sneak peek photos and there were SO many - I couldn’t believe how fast the turnaround was. And there’s more photos to come! Everything was just stunning I can’t rave about her enough. You need to hire Maya!!!! Also my friends and family couldn’t stop talking about how fun she was. We love you Maya you are amazing!!!

ous. My friends and family absolutely adored her and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better person for my special day! Thank you Maya! I can’t wait to cherish these photos forever.

communication all the way through! Maya was part of my wedding dream team and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

oing. She was constantly in touch with us throughout the engagement to make sure the wedding day was perfect. We got lots of compliments from guests about how fun she was plus how beautiful the pictures were. We’d recommend her to anyone!

ed! We are so obsessed with our wedding pictures and will be recommending Maya Papaya Pictures to anyone and everyone!

around. My wife and I are both super awkward when taking pictures but she made it so fun that we didn’t care that there was a camera there and just had the best time. The booking process was so seamless and she made our day incredible. I will be reaching out to Maya for pictures for every major life chapter because she is someone I want to keep in our lives forever. If you are looking for someone to make you feel special, understood and to break you out of your shell Maya is your girl. I couldn’t ask for a more amazing person to capture our special moments. I promise you won’t regret hiring her.

nd her second shooter Annie were my personal hype women and made me feel so beautiful on our big day. Maya captured everything perfectly and was professional. When my hair and makeup was running behind schedule, Maya pivoted our picture taking schedule without stressing me out to make sure we got all the pictures I requested. She is a fabulous photographer and an even better human being. We love Maya!!

soooo accommodating and kind. During the session she made my fiance and I feel so comfortable. It honestly felt like we were hanging out with a good friend, which helped ease our camera-shy anxiety & got us some amazing shots. She handles herself with such grace, professionalism, and the perfect amount of silly. She is everything you’re looking for and more! I can’t wait to see what magic she pulls off for our wedding!

wedding day, she makes sure things are running smoothly, she’s there to remind you to sit down, have a snack and water (because as brides we forget to do those things), and I can’t emphasize enough on how sweet and fun she is. We had so many compliments on her personality and her actual pictures. Maya has an eye for photography and she can certainly make magic happen with her lens. I can’t express how many compliments we got both on the engagement photos and the wedding photos. We found Maya on her Instagram, go check her out!

erson we've shown our pictures to has remarked at not only the technical beauty of the images but how they captured us perfectly. I think she might have had as much fun as we did taking our photos.

ldest dreams and expectations (my sister is using her for her upcoming wedding as well based on our results), but Maya is an absolute joy to work with and the exact type of person you want on this journey with you and in your corner on the big day. We stumbled upon Maya’s work by chance, but looking back, it must’ve been divine providence! Everything from booking and planning to the wedding to receiving our assets was a breeze. She is diligently on top of it, eager to understand the couple’s particular vision and/or hopes for their content, and was easily reachable throughout the entire journey. She has an infectious charisma that is so additive to the experience and she was the perfect person to lead and wrangle our giant wedding party (and us) throughout our wedding day. Where so many photographers’ wedding content can feel generic, vanilla and repetitive of other photographer’s work, Mayas images have a unique, vibrant texture that enhances and perfectly captures the special joy and love present in the moment. So hire her, I promise you will be blown away and thrilled with the final results! :)

ell anyone who needs beautiful photos to go to MayaPapaya.

lso basically a friend that helped us navigate our way through the whole process. She was so easy-going and easy to talk to, that we felt more than comfortable. From the start of the booking process all the way up to receiving our photos, her communication, attitude and customer service was TOPNOTCH. We cannot imagine anyone else to recommend taking your pictures for your wedding day!

imagine. While I know some brides have a lot of their wedding planned before they get that ring, I was not one of them. We had no idea where we wanted our engagement session to be but we knew we wanted them to special, different and to fit our vibe. Maya met with us a few times to get to know us. While we met with a lot of the other vendors we booked too, Maya stood out. It was like hanging with an old friend. We instantly clicked and she was able to find the perfect destination that fit my husband and I. Then she did her thing with her camera and gave us the most perfect photos. I’m the worst about posting on social media but when I finally got around to it everyone was obsessed. Not to mention every person we showed said “those are your engagement photos?! They are amazing” to which we responded we know, Maya is amazing. Fast forward to wedding day. While we had a same day wedding coordinator, Maya brought peace to me every time I saw her. She was able to read the room when I was overwhelmed, she helped delegate and get people moving on time and handled our large wedding party so well!! Every single person on wedding day said your photographer is amazing to which we responded again, we know!! We had a wedding party of 20 and parents and grandparents that Maya handled flawlessly including a couple of littles. We’ve received some sneak peaks and are in awe at how perfect they are! We’ve already received so many compliments but most importantly we are obsessed. She captured our special day so well, which is something we will remember forever. Her 5 star review is so well deserved and we couldn’t recommend her more! Seriously if you want a kind, funny, awesome human who will give you the most perfect photos, stop looking anywhere else and book Maya ASAP.

he still made us feel like we were special and her only clients. She truly helped our day become unforgettable

d produce incredible photos and customer service. We cherish the photos Maya took of us and you will too!

man for the whole day. I’ll never forget her asking me, “how can I best support you today?” I was so busy making sure everyone else was happy, and that question helped me remember to take care of myself as well. Maya’s caring personality and fun approach to photography made our day absolutely perfect. I LOVE her and can’t recommend her enough!!

oke with us over a Zoom call to answer our questions and listen to any concerns we had, she scheduled a meet-up to learn more about us as a couple and then did a walkthrough of our wedding venue with us. Throughout, she answered our questions immediately and was available and approachable about any questions we had, no matter how minor they were. At the venue, Maya walked through all of our pre-selected spots, affirmed us when she found a spot that worked, and helped us plan out an ideal path that would be most efficient and get the most out of our time with her. Additionally, her keen eye was able to find us a perfect spot for the ceremony at a venue that both of us had known for years and it made the wedding all the better. After the ceremony when it was time for pictures, she was so well-organized for the family photos that she was able to get all of our family pictures done within 15-20 minutes, giving us more time to take pictures as a couple. During the couple's photoshoot, Maya hyped us up and made it easy for our naturally awkward selves to feel empowered, photogenic, and confident. Maya Papaya Pictures is a great choice of investment no matter the couple, we've already booked her for our 1st anniversary because we knew how in demand she'd be and she's earned it.

s an incredible knack for capturing those fleeting, candid moments that truly define a special memory. What sets Maya apart is her exceptional attention to detail. Not only does she articulate and guide with excellent suggestions during poses, but she goes above and beyond by offering to hold items like accessories, sunglasses, or a glass of wine, ensuring they don't distract from the photos. Her willingness to assist in this way demonstrates her commitment to perfecting every shot, no matter how small the detail. More than just a photographer, Maya creates an environment where you feel completely at ease. Her playful and silly nature makes the entire experience fun and enjoyable. It's remarkable how she creates such a safe space, allowing you to be your most authentic self in front of the camera. I can't recommend Maya highly enough. If you're looking for someone who captures stunning images and makes the process an absolute delight, Maya is the photographer for you. Thank you for the beautiful memories captured through your lens!

! As soon as you lock eyes with her there is an instant connection. She gets to really know you and your partner to the point you don’t even need to say words. She made my wife and I feel so supported, safe, heard, and seen. She is so inclusive and lives out loud! As soon as we had our first video call, we knew she was the one. She knows how to get your good angles, let me tell you!! She had me feeling like I belonged on the cover of Vogue or walking down the runway for Paris Fashion Week. She is a hype girl sent from the heavens above. She moves quicker than anyone I have ever seen and she is so stealth, sometimes you don’t even know how she got the shot?! Our entire guest list (and other vendors) had amazing things to say about her and you’re making a mistake if you book your photo with anyone else. The team she had with her worked so well, we all just meshed and I wish they all could have partied all night with us. Not many.. IF ANY.. photographers I know would get out on the dance floor and tear up the Wobble!! She is just a bright light and I could go on and on about her. s are exactly what I envisioned for our wedding, but because of her experience. I read on her website that her background is filmmaking, and that was just an added plus. She knew exactly what to do from the moment we started to plan, and she guided the day beautifully. Maya will make you feel so comfortable, and she will cater to your every need. All of our photos turned out absolutely stunning, and she captured the most beautiful moments. If your questioning your wedding day photographer, I promise Maya will not disappoint. We absolutely loved her!

On the day of she made sure we were relaxed and having fun and it totally shows in our photos. All of our guests kept telling us afterwards how much they enjoyed Maya!

ll. She was so on top of everything, made sure we stayed on time, ensured the photos I requested were taken, and most of all kept it FUN. She picked a great team of photographers/videographers that made it all feel so seamless. To top it off, our photos came out AMAZING!! Definitely pick Maya to document your special day!

reciative that they supported our dream of having a small, nontraditional wedding from day one. The photos were amazing and really captured the organic vibe of our wedding! We especially enjoyed the Fujifilm photos.
