ed is that Erika is great at putting everyone at ease--which is important when you're trying to look natural in front of a camera! Both my mother and my husband's mother LOVED Erika, and she was able to capture some great candid shots of people at our reception. One of my friends commented that Erika really captured the emotion of the event in her pictures.
It's also really obvious that Erika is passionate about her work. When we took engagement pictures, Erika was really excited to explore a new city (Madison, WI) and shoot us at ALL our favorite sites around town (and there were a LOT of them...) It was clear that she loves what she does and is excited about capturing the best shots that she can. To top it off, she even bought *us* ice cream at the end of the night!
Erika is also a great person to have around for crazy stressful events. On the day of the wedding, Erika arrived at all the scheduled places promptly, and kept everyone smiling throughout the day. She even fixed my mom's hair when it started to come loose before the ceremony! And, after working all day at our wedding, she got a wedding preview post up on her blog before all our guests had even left town! I'm super pleased with the photos we've seen so far, and I can't recommend Mayden Photography enough.

agement shoot – which was scheduled for a whole evening! – but Erika managed to make it fun even for me, and the time flew by. The bride and I also both appreciated Erika’s professionalism: she kept her eye on the time and knew how to take maximal advantage of the lighting conditions as the evening was progressing, and we made it to our last location just as the sun was setting.
Erika also did a great job at our wedding. She worked tirelessly throughout the wedding ceremony and reception, but she was also very nice and friendly – several of the guests mentioned that they liked Erika a lot. The pictures we’ve seen so far look great. All in all, we strongly recommend Erika as a photographer.

mother and I with a big smile at the door. She proceeded to help me find the perfect dress for the occasion. At one point she informed us that she was a photographer, so I asked if she was available on June 27th for the big day... and she was! What luck!
The weeks before the wedding we were in communication about all of the logistics as well as what I wanted out of the photos. She was so easy to work with and very responsive.
On the day of the wedding, Erika arrived early and had already scoped out places to take pictures. The wedding was extremely intimate (only 7 people in attendance) and as a result was a bit untraditional. She just rolled with it and captured all of the special moments!
After the ceremony we went down to the lakefront in Chicago to take additional pictures. Erika was willing to do anything to capture our fun and silly moments (even laying on the ground in a dress!).
I could not be happier with how everything went. Erika is extremely talented as a photographer but also incredibly sweet, friendly and personable. She even showed up to the wedding in an orange dress since I had mentioned the day I was shopping that it was my favorite color! Everyone, after the photo session, commented how they felt so at ease working with her. I feel so blessed to have met her as she helped me find my perfect dress and she captured so beautifully a day that was so special for everyone!

Our engagement shoot was a day long event with multiple locations and so much exploring. Erika did a great job at making us feel comfortable while taking BREATH-TAKING photos. We will cherish those photos for a lifetime!

The day of our engagement pictures we met Erika for a quick drink and dinner and she instantly made us feel at ease. It is very apparent that she is passionate about her work and wants to get to know clients on a personal level.
When it came to taking the pictures, Erika gave us direction without making the poses feel forced. She kept us laughing and had great suggestions for locations and how to capture the best light. Erika's husband stopped by to help out with a few shots and they were so sweet together!
I didn't expect to see any pictures for a while but the very next day Erika sent us some preview shots and I could not be happier. I feel like she did a great job capturing our love (sounds cheesy, I know). I am generally pretty awkward in front of a camera but how comfortable I felt with Erika really showed in the pictures.
I can't wait for her to shoot our wedding. I am so happy we chose her and that we gained a friend in the process!
