I first learned about McCaskill & Company when I was researching local jewelers to repair a watch. They were very helpful and reasonably priced, so when I was ready for my wife (then fiancé) to pick out an engagement ring I sent her there to look at rings. I was actually deployed when my wife went to McCaskill & Company. David Kirk was a great help to us without ever having met me. He was not pushy at all with my wife, and he listened to her preferences for a ring and was able to help her pick out the perfect setting. She had such a great time that she called me as soon as she left the store. They have inventory for just about every price range, so I was able to find something that matched our budget. My wife also wanted a specific cut (emerald) that had never been used in the particular setting before, and McCaskill & Company worked with the manufacturer to make sure she was able to get the cut in the setting she wanted. Thanks to David I was able to get all the specifics despite not being in the country; we exchanged a lot of emails! This allowed me to order the custom engagement ring as soon as I returned to the US. He kept me updated about when the ring would be ready since it was a custom order. He was very helpful, and was almost as excited as I was when the ring finally arrived. At one point my wife noticed one of the smaller stones on her engagement ring was missing (a manufacturing issue, NOT McCaskill’s fault). McCaskill & Company was astonishingly easy to work with. They took the ring back and handled all the correspondence with the manufacturer. My wife had her repaired ring back with a new stone within 2 weeks, FREE OF CHARGE! Because of their amazing service I eventually purchased the matching wedding band for my wife from McCaskill & Company, and with their military discount we got my wedding band for free! The service was so great that I’ve gone back there for multiple other gifts for my wife over the past year. All the staff members are amazing and take the time to get to know you by name, even if you’re not spending the big bucks. They will take your important dates (birthdays, anniversary) and keep them on file with your (or your wife’s) preferences/wish list, so it makes shopping for special occasions easy. They also host several great events throughout the year, which are all a lot of fun and worth going to. I have gone back to them for several other gifts (the wedding gift, a Christmas gift), and they are always great to talk to even if you don’t buy anything. I will likely go back there for years to come. I have talked to several other couples about the jewelers they’ve gone to, and those that did not go to McCaskill & Company initially have all converted. Bottom line: the selection is amazing and the prices are great, but the service is above and beyond what you would ever expect from any retail store. We shopped there early in our ring selection process and after numerous other stores still kept coming back to the ring we saw at McCaskill. Ken, our sales person, had the ability to find exactly what we were looking for out of the numerous choices available. They have a refined, no-pressure elegant environment where you aren’t hurried to make your choice.
