I purchased an engagement ring there, after walking in knowing nothing about diamonds other than that they’re made of Carbon. David took the time to explain, diagram, and do the math to show what a quality diamond is. I left to shop around, but found no better alternative in the area, or online. David then helped me select an amazing diamond (weeding out some that otherwise fit my criteria, but were a bad cut, despite being rated EX/EX/EX). He brought in a few loose diamonds, and my fiancée now literally can’t leave the house without getting a compliment on her ring.
Customer service at McCaskill is unparalleled. To accommodate my schedule, David even came into the store on his day off to show the diamonds. Of course there are also the standard niceties one would expect from a high-end retailer. I would have regretted shopping elsewhere and forgoing the expertise, attentiveness, and personal service offered at McCaskill.

cCaskill and Company. Upon first walking into McCaskill and Company I was immediately greeted by kind and courteous professionals. I told them I was looking for an engagement ring and they immediately took me to David.
I told David that, at the time, I was just looking. That didn’t dissuade him at all; instead he sat down with me and went through everything diamonds (it’s not all about the 4C’s guys!). I truly appreciated his time and told him that I would continue to shop around (even though they had the setting I was looking for and the customer service I wanted). Long story short, I kept in contact with David while looking at other places and visited him many more times. Each time we talked, he was more than willing to answer any questions I might have had. I had finally made my decision to go with a ring from McCaskill and Company, but, as time would have it I was set to be deployed in a few weeks. I told David that and, as always, he was more than understanding and said he would be ready for me when I got back.
I returned from deployment in July and immediately went into McCaskill and Company to speak with David. We talked about everything and I proceeded with the purchase and he was very helpful throughout. It meant a lot to me that throughout the 18-month process, David did not blow me off as another “tire kicking” customer. Instead, he treated me like a customer who he has known for years.
When the ring came in, it was absolutely stunning. I loved it, and I knew that she would love it as well. McCaskill and Company packaged it up and prepped it for the big day. The proposal went off great! (In short…helicopter, picnic, green Kansas plains, and an old wooden cross…and of course the most beautiful Fiancé ever!)
After proposing and returning to Florida, I took my Fiancé into McCaskill and Company so that she could meet the person who was critical in getting her the perfect ring. To no surprise, McCaskill and Company again exceeded expectations. In an era where most companies sell and forget, McCaskill and Company takes customer satisfaction to a whole new level.
A big thank you for McCaskill and Company for providing a classically beautiful ring. And an even bigger thank you to David for being there with me every step of the way, being understanding of my crazy timeline, and for his wealth of knowledge. After living in Destin now for 18 months, I know there is no where else to go for your jewelry needs…David at McCaskill and Company is all you need!

I was actually deployed when my wife went to McCaskill & Company. David Kirk was a great help to us without ever having met me. He was not pushy at all with my wife, and he listened to her preferences for a ring and was able to help her pick out the perfect setting. She had such a great time that she called me as soon as she left the store. They have inventory for just about every price range, so I was able to find something that matched our budget. My wife also wanted a specific cut (emerald) that had never been used in the particular setting before, and McCaskill & Company worked with the manufacturer to make sure she was able to get the cut in the setting she wanted.
Thanks to David I was able to get all the specifics despite not being in the country; we exchanged a lot of emails! This allowed me to order the custom engagement ring as soon as I returned to the US. He kept me updated about when the ring would be ready since it was a custom order. He was very helpful, and was almost as excited as I was when the ring finally arrived.
At one point my wife noticed one of the smaller stones on her engagement ring was missing (a manufacturing issue, NOT McCaskill’s fault). McCaskill & Company was astonishingly easy to work with. They took the ring back and handled all the correspondence with the manufacturer. My wife had her repaired ring back with a new stone within 2 weeks, FREE OF CHARGE!
Because of their amazing service I eventually purchased the matching wedding band for my wife from McCaskill & Company, and with their military discount we got my wedding band for free!
The service was so great that I’ve gone back there for multiple other gifts for my wife over the past year. All the staff members are amazing and take the time to get to know you by name, even if you’re not spending the big bucks. They will take your important dates (birthdays, anniversary) and keep them on file with your (or your wife’s) preferences/wish list, so it makes shopping for special occasions easy. They also host several great events throughout the year, which are all a lot of fun and worth going to. I have gone back to them for several other gifts (the wedding gift, a Christmas gift), and they are always great to talk to even if you don’t buy anything. I will likely go back there for years to come. I have talked to several other couples about the jewelers they’ve gone to, and those that did not go to McCaskill & Company initially have all converted.
Bottom line: the selection is amazing and the prices are great, but the service is above and beyond what you would ever expect from any retail store. Even if we move out of town, McCaskill & Company will be our jeweler for years to come.
