About this vendor
This Colonial-style house was built in 1918 by Thomas McCormick who emigrated from Ireland as a young man in 1886. A beautiful home, it has been host to four generations of McCormick celebrations and now the "Home Ranch" is open to you. Set in a country atmosphere surrounded by lawns, pine, jacaranda, and palm trees, the wonderful McCormick Gardens area available from Spring through Fall. We are able to accommodate a large number of guests with plenty of parking, restrooms and dressing rooms. The Ranch offers a unique and spacious setting with Adironack-style furniture, picnic tables, birdhouses, and all those extras that make garden weddings, receptions, company picnics and parties special.

When it comes to McCormick Home Ranch, I am speechless. The natural beauty, the spacious different areas that make up the property, and the "father-of-the-bride"-esque house make for such a unique and memorable venue. My now husband and I just hosted a 180-person wedding here on May 21st, 2022 and we could not have asked for a more magical venue to get married at. Our guests, even days later, cannot stop raving about it. Their instagrams were filled with phrases that imply the beauty of this venue and they are not lying. Sally is amazing to work with, and Becky, who handles all rentals, is the same. Every time we stepped onto that property pre-wedding we were always in awe. It was somehow even more beautiful on wedding weekend. The natural beauty of the venue allowed us to save on florals and decor. The jacaranda trees were in bloom, the ease of flowing from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception was so easy, the sheep were a hit among the guests, and it's just so unexpected! When you're driving, you do not expect to be turning into a secret oasis garden! I wish I could post 1000 photos of this venue but they just don't do justice. If you're looking for a place that allows BYOB, bring your own food, and just an amazing experience for you and your guests, look no further than McCormick Home Ranch!
We had our wedding at McCormick Home Ranch on Nov 2, 2018. It was a DREAM.
The staff are friendly, Vickie Berry (our coordinator) was able to recommend seasoned staff for all of our needs since the venue doesn't come with them.
The premises are beautiful - our photos look like The Secret Garden. I love how intimate and magical this venue feels, and you can really make it your own. We went with more of a romantic elegant style, but you could easily go very rustic with it too.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting an outdoor wedding that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of beach/city.
McCormick is a beautiful and picturesque venue! The costs are extremely reasonable compared to other local venues and Sally is very flexible! She has truly created a garden paradise for brides & grooms.
They handled everything we needed! Very low stress :)
We had our wedding here in May of 2016 and it was the perfect location. The home and surrounding areas on the property are absolutely gorgeous and made nice scenery for our wedding photos. Sally was very helpful in answering emails, phone calls and any questions that we had and she always responded in a very timely manner. We loved how there were distinct areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. This venue lets you choose your own catering company and you can purchase the alcohol yourself as long as a licensed bartender serves it, this is hard to find at a venue and will help you to save a ton of money. The site fee was very reasonable compared to other wedding venues in the area. The venue is a hidden gem and all of our guests loved it and were in awe of the beauty of this amazing place. I would highly recommend this venue to future bride and grooms.
We had our wedding at McCormick Home Ranch, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Our guests all raved about how beautiful it was, and the homey feeling was exactly what we were looking for. Sally is so nice and helpful and owns a ton of wonderful decor items available for rent (i.e., wheelbarrels, string lights, etc.). I highly recommend!
Sally is great to work with, flexible on everything!! You can bring in outside vendors for everything except the rentals of tables and chairs.
It didn't take me long to realize McCormick Home Ranch was the venue of choice for my Spring garden themed wedding! I just had to stroll the lush and exquisitely manicured grounds. An abundance of lovely flowers, and twinkle lights peeking from the trees sold me instantly! The proprietor, Sally, really has an eye for creating the stage for a beautiful outdoor wedding. Reasonable prices, quick & easy meetings, and the do-it yourself flexibility of this venue (in terms of bringing in your own vendors) added to its charm!
I LOVED everything about the look of our venue and the fact that they let us bring in ALL of our own vendors and our own alcohol which was really difficult to find. This venue is a hidden gem and it is absolutely beautiful if you like the whimsical rustic look! There are a ton of different places to take pictures and everyone at our wedding was in awe of how beautiful it was. Pictures do not do it justice you have to see it in person.
The reason I gave it only 4 stars is for three reasons:
1. There is no wedding coordinator included in the cost of the venue so you must do it all yourself, which has pros and cons.
2. The restrooms are port-o-potty's, they are nice but still.
3. On the day of the wedding there was some miscommunication with the owner of the venue and she was not as accomodating as we felt she should been. I think she was just overwhelmed because the weekend we got married there were 2 other weddings and she had no other help.
If you are looking for a wedding venue that is simple and quaint and totally magical I would absolutely recommend this place. We still have friends and family telling us how beautiful it was. Sally was really great and easy going almost the whole time and is very available for you to get into contact with.
It is a beautiful venue and made our wedding truly one-of-a-kind and SOO special.
Absolutely loved having my wedding here! Everything turned out beautifully, the only negative is that the owner can be a little scatter-brained so our rentals got a little messed up, but she was great and was able to get things figured out in plenty of time.
McCormick Home Ranch is amazing! It's absolutely beautiful and makes a great backdrop for pictures! The owner does most of the rentals herself, and lets you bring in your own caterer.
My wedding here was amazing!!! Sally was very easy to work with. We lived two hours away, and she was very easy to get a hold of. We even met up with her a few times at her place (the venue) to get ideas. To say her property is lovely is an understatement. It is so gorgeous that you don't really need a whole lot, if anything, to add to the floral decor. If you are looking for an outdoor venue, you will see none like this one! My husband and I looked all over. We got so many compliments. Many people told us it was the prettiest wedding they had ever been to. Sally also lets you rent everything through her, which makes things very easy. You don't have to rent from her if you don't want to. Also, you bring in all of your other vendors, which was nice! If you are into the vintage look, she has tons of options to choose from. You can also rent tables, chairs, and even linens from her of all colors. I highly recommend this venue as it is gorgeous and Sally is the best! As a side note, there is also a bride and groom cottage to get ready in; they both are adorable!! I can't stop looking at all of my photos from our wedding. I couldn't ask for a prettier place!
McCormick Home Ranch was the perfect setting for our outdoor venue. I loved how we were able to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at the same place but in different parts of the garden.
All my coordinating for ranch rentals were done with the ranch owner, Sally McCormick. I was a little skeptical through the planning process because she seemed absent minded, however, on the day of the event everything that she promised was there and looked AMAZING!!.
There were a few extra charges that we had to ensue due to the location. The place gets really dark at night so we rented 4 strands of string lights which added up to approx. $600. Also, I was not happy with the bathroom facilities available at the ranch. She has single stall porta-potties that get changed out before each event. I was not comfortable having women in long evening gowns using the porta-potties. We ended up renting "luxurious bathroom suites" that were ridiculously over-kill, but so much better than what was available.
After everything was said and done I did not mind having those extra costs because when you are planning a wedding or any big event things are always going to come up.
Sally was very accomodating in allowing us to visit the ranch whenever we needed. She has a lot of unique "furniture" available to rent. She does all the set up and was very prompt in returning our security deposit.
It is over a month past our wedding and family and friends are still calling/emailing to let us know how "beautiful the site was", and that our wedding "looked like a fairy-tale".
We are VERY VERY happy with everything about McCormick Home Ranch!
This had been the only location I saw but as soon as I saw it, I feel in love. It had a romantic and vintage feel about it and it was exactly what I had been hoping for!
If you are looking for a beautiful and romantic garden setting this is the place!
The McCormick Home Ranch is not just beautiful, Sally McCormick is super nice and understanding, I love her!
The place is big enough for large weddings and yet cozy for small ones. Plus is dog friendly.
The best price I found for my low budget wedding. I will always recommend this venue. It is Fabulous!
We really wanted an outdoor garden wedding and a lot of the venues we looked at were VERY expensive. Other venues forced you to use their caterers and pay outrageous prices for food. At McCormick you can pick your vendors and save money. Sally McCormick is SO nice and easy to get a hold of. She was very helpful and so generous to let us use her home for our wedding. Everyone thought it was beautiful and we had a great time there!
I absolutely LOVED our wedding venue. They allow you to bring in your own caterer, cake, bartender and most everything except for the rentals so you are really able to customize your special day. We used the site for our cerermony and the reception for 200 people. It was the most romantic and FUN wedding. A real dream come true!
The McCormick Home Ranch offers so many beautiful things for your wedding day. My husband and I honestly have a list of things that we LOVED. One being the ceremony area. It's in a garden area that birds chirp and butterflies fly. The reception area is just as gorgous. The guest tables are setup on the beautiful lawn where you are surrounded by large trees, flowers and the historic ranch house itself. The setting it truly magical.;The one thing that we would warn other couples about is that due to the County of Ventura, the McCormick Ranch had to stop using their private bathrooms. We had already booked the venue when we later were informed. Sally told us that we would have something similar (to normal bathrooms), but what we got...were porta-potties. It was a major disapointment, but it didn't ruin the day by any means.
