Shelby is one of the sweetest people Iv ever met! I was a COVID-19 bride and Shelby was so accommodating with plans changing due to the daily regulations changing. I was concerned at first getting my makeup done that it would look like I had too much make up on. This was not the case whatsoever. Shelby made my skin appear flawless while giving it a natural appearance. She is truly an artist. She is a pleasure to work with and does an amazing job.

Shelby was absolutely amazing! She took time out during the late summer to do a trial look on myself (even during a pandemic and was so cautious!) and helped/gave suggestions for my skin to ensure that on wedding day, I was my absolute best (and I still use them!). She never made us feel rushed on wedding day, and even offered advice to my bridal party. She was so kind and truly made me feel at ease (as much as possible on such day). I never wear make-up and she just made it feel so natural. We met Shelby at a bridal convention in February on 2019, hired her on the spot, and kept in contact with us until our wedding date of 10/10/2020! 100% would recommend to any bride, or individual looking to feel pretty.

I could not have been happier with Shelby/McFarren Makeup for my wedding! I planned a fairly last minute 'covid wedding' in Manchester, VT and needed makeup for just me. Shelby was accommodating to my specific needs/location, fairly priced, made me feel safe/took cleanliness very seriously, and did a wonderful job. I don't wear a ton of makeup, and she nailed the 'better version of myself' look for my wedding day. My makeup lasted all day and looked great in pictures. She was also super professional and communicative leading up to and on the day of the event. Highly recommend working with Shelby for your wedding or other makeup needs.

Shelby was amazing! Showed up on time, prepared, clean and very professional. She was able to get 7 makeup applications done all by herself on time and worked well with us getting our hair done at the same time. She did exactly what we all wanted, natural but heavy enough to come out great in photos. We were all so happy with her work and I would highly recommend her!

Shelby was wonderful! I loved my makeup and Shelby was very easy to work with. She was organized ahead of the date as well as the day of. She took the time to explore what kind of look I was going for. I really wanted airbrush and then makeup that would enhance my features. Shelby did an excellent job and I would highly recommend her. (She was also just fun to chat with while getting ready!)

Shelby is amazing!! She just did my make up and 5 other girls in my wedding party. She was fun to work with and worked super well with the ladies doing our hair. Shelby was on time and was really proficient with her time and was very patient with the madness going in. She made us all look perfect!! HIGHLY recommend!!!

Shelby is the best! She came to do my makeup for our wedding in Lake Placid. She came with everything she needed to do our makeup down to the table and chair. We were all very pleased with our makeup! I would definitely hire her again.

Shelby was a dream. She was extraordinarily well-prepared, professional, kind, talented and just all-around pleasant. She was flexible (e.g., didn't bat an eye when I shared that I had brought my own lip color, offered to stay as long as required to touch up makeup after a potential need due to re-doing of hair) and responsive to my requests/questions and those of my party. She did an incredible job with my makeup, making me look like an enhanced version of myself (without that overly-done up look that can make one look unrecognizable), and made my mom and mother in law feel comfortable, happy, and look radiant. Shelby navigated a tight setup like a pro, having already come prepared with her own table and lighting. In addition to all of this, she was an absolute pleasure to work with - collaborating excellently with other vendors and even went out of her way to help me resolve and manage a challenge with hairstyling. I felt at ease with her on my side. Truly amazing. So very grateful that I had the opportunity to work with her. Only wish we could do it all over again!

Shelby was absolutely fantastic to work with. I don't normally wear much make-up so was nervous - but she gave me the perfect look and made me feel like an absolute princess! We had a full-day of outdoor photos before the ceremony and even at hour number six, I barely needed the touch-up kit, my make-up looked flawless! My whole bridal party looked so gorgeous! Shelby was amazing! She worked fast (there were 9 of us total) and everyone's makeup came out stunning. All the girls got compliments all night. In the past I always end up redoing some part of the makeup after it's been done but with Shelby, I didn't touch a thing! Shelby was absolutely wonderful to work with. She made me feel so comfortable at my trial and gave me a bunch of pointers on how to care for my skin leading up to my wedding day. My whole bridal party looked so gorgeous. Shelby also gave me a super helpful kit of emergency supplies to keep us all looking fabulous the rest of the day! Shelby did the makeup for me and my girls for my wedding! All of us were blown away with how amazing we looked after! She was on time, was responsive to all my emails, and has a great personality and was fun to work with! The makeup lasted all night and the lashes stayed put! If I ever need my makeup done for anything else, I will definitely use her services!

Shelby was and is absolutely amazing. She made a point to come a bit early given the last minute schedule changes to our big day. She is friendly, professional, talented, and informative. Shelby was so easy to work with leading up to my wedding day. She answered all my questions in a timely manner. On the day of my wedding, she helped to make the day stress free by being on time, and completing my 6 bridesmaids makeup, and mine, with time to spare. From start to finish Shelby was amazing to work with! I hired her to do my make up for my wedding in June 2019. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change our wedding date 3x and Shelby was very accommodating every single time I sent her a pesky email. She asked for pictures if I had some for inspo on the type of look I was going for, then was very thorough during the trial, asking questions about my usual skin care routine, make up routine, and about my life in general. She has any product she could need in her arsenal of make up. She really listened to what I wanted, changed/tweaked what I didn't like, and treated me like a friend rather than just another client. She was so fun to work with the day of my wedding and came with everything she could need. my best friends got their make up done too and it was natural and beautiful. I will 100% be having Shelby do my make up again in the future.

I cannot recommend McFarren Makeup Artistry enough! Shelby made me feel stunning on my wedding day and went above and beyond to make my trial happen; Shelby traveled to my remote Vermont cabin and made note of all my trial-tweaks to perfect my wedding day make up look. On my wedding day, Shelby and her assistant arrived early, set up, and had everything ready to go for our 8 AM start. She managed to get our 11-person bridal party done an hour before pictures! Shelby and her assistant made me, my girls, and our mothers feel beautiful- everyone’s make up was perfect for their style, skin tone, and texture. I am thrilled with my beautiful my make up photographed, and that it stayed on SO WELL throughout the day. I truly did not even need a touch up after our ceremony, pictures, and reception. I am so pleased with my wedding day look and am thrilled to have connected with McFarren. Reasonably priced, high quality, and delightful to work with.

Shelby was amazing. For my trial she came to my house, and she did amazing run which was used for our engagement photos. The day of the wedding she arrived early, her work was amazing, she has such much patience, and actually listens to what you want as a look. She was very kind, responsive when I had questions, and always willing to help with ideas for something that I don't normally wear. I wanted a natural look that made my eyes popped and I received so many compliments on how myself and my girls looked. Thank you for everything you did, I still actually need to get some of the lipstick she used because it was amazing. If you're looking for someone down to earth, funny, and very kind, Shelby is your person. We were very lucky to find her!

Shelby is THE BEST! She did my makeup, 9 bridesmaids, my mom and MIL and everyone loved it. She took the time to listen to what each person wanted and wasn't offended when we asked to change things. She's super organized, very professional, and overall just a lovely person. HIGHLY recommend.

Shelby and her assistant did an amazing job doing my makeup as well as my wedding party and family!! I cannot recommend her enough or say enough good things. She does a very thorough consultation to make sure everything is perfect the day of, she replies to emails timely and is very professional (but sweet and fun), she was on time and kept to our schedule all day, she even gave me an emergency kit for the day of with everything myself or any guests would need makeup-wise. I think my biggest and longest lasting impression though is that it started to downpour as I was walking down the aisle (outdoor ceremony); however despite that, everyones makeup she did still looked absolutely PERFECT afterwards and you couldn't tell we were all soaked. I could go on forever but I think you all get the point to WORK WITH HER! Thank you again Shelby!!!

Shelby is just flat out INCREDIBLE!!. From our first phone call to the first meeting, to the consultation through to our final event, I felt lucky to have had a very responsive make-up artist. For any brown skin girls, don't second guess booking Shelby because she did my makeup for my Ghanaian traditional engagement ceremony as well as my wedding day and my goodness she made me look fire!. I had 6 bridesmaids, MOB and myself and she arrived at least 15 minutes early before her scheduled arrival time to get started. She did everyone's makeup with a lot of time to spare. She was a lot of fun to work with. All of the bridesmaids and my mother couldn't stop talking about how amazing she was as a MUA and as a person! I seriously couldn't have asked for a better MUA! Thank you so much for everything Shelby!! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a professional makeup artist not just for their big day but for any special occasion.

Shelby is a rockstar and was truly a highlight to our wedding. She was on time, professional and had amazing calming energy. All my girls looked beautiful! Would recommend her to anyone and feel lucky we had her for my day!

shelby is an actual IRL angel. i am so happy i found her. she is sweet, kind, genuine, and funny, and that's half the battle in finding a vendor that's your speed. so many are fake-nice for the sake of business relationships rather than human relationships. i really felt like shelby cared about me, cared about her work, and cared about me having the wedding look of my dreams. i sent her a few pictures, and she literal produced EXACTLY my goal. she additionally did my hair because i was scrambling to find a stylist, and i was beyond the moon with how it turned out. she put little clips in my hair that were the perfect touch, and just made me feel like a starlet. further, i booked her for only myself-- when there was still time left before the ceremony, my 2 sisters asked if she'd have time to do their make-up. without hesitation, she agreed. the flexibility, beautiful attitude, warmth that shelby gave to me and mine on my wedding day is so treasured. i'm floored to have encountered a human like her. everyone who invests in her on their wedding day will be impressed and feel incredible grace, like i did. her art/work is incomparable, and she's just the kind of person you'll be better for having met.

Shelby with McFarren Makeup Artistry was exceptional!! My 6-1-19 wedding was pretty non traditional, we did a hiking elopement, and my makeup stayed FLAWLESS for a two hour hike on a hot and humid day with plenty of sweating! She gave me this adorable touch up kit that I hardly had to use because it was applied so well to begin with! She listened to what I wanted and made me feel like a princess on my special day. I’d recommend her to anyone, she’s truly talented and a warm and friendly person! <3

Shelby was amazing! She completely nailed the look I was going for (despite very foggy instructions from a bride who is not makeup-literate in the least) and made me look and feel absolutely gorgeous. She also did an amazing job with the entire wedding party despite having a wide variety of skin tones and makeup requests, not to mention a lot of last minute add ons when people saw how awesome her work was. We had a theme wedding and she nailed every look from natural to ultra-glam 80s makeup with sequins and sparkles. She was a fantastic sport despite traveling in Vermont with two feet of snow on the wedding weekend, and could not have more accommodating, patient or generally awesome. I cannot thank Shelby enough for making our wedding a dream come true!

Shelby was absolutely amazing to work with. She was always very responsive, I never waited more than a day to hear back from her. She did my makeup for my engagement photos as well as for my wedding day and they both turned out absolutely amazing. On my wedding day, she did makeup for 3 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, and myself and she was done with plenty of time for me to finish getting my dress on and finish getting ready, and we all looked so beautiful! Shelby from McFarren Makeup Artistry is simply the best! She went above and beyond on my big day to help out when things went a little south with other parts of the wedding prep! Her makeup technique and skill level is by far some of the beat work i jave seens. She was able to match all 5 skin types the first try. Super friendly and flexible. i highly Recommend using her services for your wedding needs.

I LOVED MY MAKEUP! I just got married and hired Shelby from McFarren Makeup Artistry. Shelby was extremely helpful when it came to figuring out what I wanted to look like for my wedding. We came up with this super glam look that not only looked great on me but my bridal party. My husband even needed a quick cover up of a breakout and she was there to help. She even gave me makeup to use the rest of the time that she wasn't there and she gave me some skin care products to help when I took it all off. Very thoughtful. She's a wedding pro!

Shelby was early, she was efficient, she did a wide range of girls in likes of little to no make up and others like myself who said go for it! All of my bridesmaids were so happy and I recommend her to everyone I know. She also gave me the BEST gift bag ever of products I am still using a year and a half later 🤗 I felt flawless because of her and she is so easy going you just chat the whole time she is beautifying you!

I had booked with McFarren Makeup Artistry kind of short notice for my wedding. I originally had a makeup artist but they backed out a month before my wedding. I was so stressed out until I found Shelby. I did an emergency consultation with her to try to re-create the look the other artist had already perfected for my wedding day. Luckily, Shelby took her time to listen and go through her products and after a while she got my look spot on! The whole time she was very polite and professional and on my wedding day she hit it out of the park! We all felt so relaxed and knew we were in good hands. Also, she didn't charge me any extra fees or a deposit fee since it was such short notice. I didn't get my money back with the other artist for a deposit so it was just nice not to feel like she was only taking me on for the money. I seriously can't recommend her enough. She saved my getting ready process from becoming a disaster.

Shelby did make-up for me, my bridesmaids, and my mom on my wedding day and she did an amazing job! We all loved our make-up and it stayed put all night. From my consultation to the actual wedding day, Shelby was wonderful to work!

I was so happy to have found McFarren Makeup! I'm originally from Rutland, Vt but moved to Boston for work. My maid of honor actually found Shelby from a bridal show last year and told me to get in contact with her and I'm so glad I did! She made time for me and a few of my girls to do a trial and listened to everything I threw at her. Come wedding day I knew we were going to be taken care of and like what she did. The makeup looked great and shes was very focused on her work. You can tell she really likes what she does. I can confidently say I would love to work with her again and recommend her to other brides.

Shelby did my makeup for my engagement photos, bridal shower, and my wedding. Her work is amazing! I loved my makeup and looking back at photos from those special days I am amazed at how stunning and flawless my makeup looked. She is very professional and punctual (especially important with weddings). All my bridesmaids loved their makeup on my wedding day. Shelby did a phenomenal job with my wedding makeup! I actually found her through Instagram, when I noticed all the amazing photos she posted! I contacted her, and knew instantly that I would hire her. She is professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, incredibly sweet. When I went for my complimentary trial, she listened to what I wanted for my wedding makeup, and worked with me to find the right style. I think I ended up staying there longer than usual, because she kept trying different lip colors and lashes until I found what I liked! The day of the wedding, Shelby worked seamlessly. We had 11 girls get makeup done, and she did us all in a timely and efficient manner. She listened to each person to figure out what they liked best, and worked with anyone if they had specific requests (dry skin, allergies, etc..) Best of all, our makeup looked beautiful and we got so many compliments throughout the day. I definitely recommend her if you're having your wedding in the area! Thank you so much Shelby!

Shelby was an absolute pleasure to work with on my wedding day and I'd hire her again in a heart beat! She gave me the look I was hoping for and also did a wonderful job on make up for my full wedding party - so much so that one of my bridesmaids hired Shelby for her wedding the following year! Shelby did my makeup for me and my matron of honor at my wedding this past Saturday (Sept. 1, 2018). SHE DID SUCH AN AMAZING job!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ended up having 2 consultations with her since I was undecided about what type of makeup I wanted. Each time she did wonderful work, but on my wedding day,​ she went above and beyond anything she had done up to that point! I LOVED IT! And my matron of honor looked amazing as well. Neither of us wears a ton of makeup day to day and she succeeded in making us both look like the absolute BEST versions of ourselves! And we compared notes and at the end of the night (for me around midnight) we both felt like we looked just as great as we did when she first applied our makeup (around 9am)!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH SHELBY!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Shelby. When I started the process of looking for a makeup artist for myself and my bridesmaids I was not sure where to start. I don’t wear a lot of makeup during my everyday life because my skin is so sensitive and I break out. My bridesmaids also never wear makeup. I was so concerned that I wouldn’t be able to find someone who would listen to me and give me the light and natural look I was searching for that would make my girls and I happy. Luckily I came across Shelby and she was perfect! Not only did she listen, but she took the time to ask if I liked what she did and changed what I didn’t! My bridesmaids all loved what she did for them as well! Shelby not only listens, but she brings this whole package with her, I’m not talking about the goodie bag she leaves you with, but her presence! She is so sassy and fun and was such a joy to have during my wedding day! Also, she is so freaking affordable! I highly recommend!
