DJ Milton McGee got the party started and kept the night running smoothly, in the most unobtrusive way. We used their online portal to set up our song list and in our final meeting, DJ Milton chatted with us to get a true feel of the vibes we wanted for each distinct aspect of our celebration. He seamlessly blended chill reggae with 90s R&B, classic rock, and line dances with a little bit of modern country thrown in for good measure. Everyone could find something they were comfortable dancing to. Milton interacted with guests exactly the right amount, making sure everyone stayed engaged. Highly recommend!

Get DJ Dametris for your wedding - this man is fantastic! I mean everybody was on this dance floor. Great crowd skills, great MC skills and perfectly ran our wedding day from the DJ booth! This DJ is phenomenal!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Carlton as our DJ for our wedding at the Cummer Museum! He was so kind and friendly, and more importantly the most professional vendor we worked with. We mentioned that we are a Disney couple and that our family enjoys Disney as well. Carlton made sure to weave in popular Disney songs into our playlist which was a happy surprise for us on the day. He did not miss a single requested song or detail. We would recommend McGee Entertainment to any future couples without a second thought!

I was lucky enough to find McGee Entertainment during my DJ hunt 9 months ago or so. I just got married yesterday, and I could not be happier with them! I received so many compliments, and despite the rain and slippery outside dance floor, people couldn’t help but dance! I had Carlton, and he is awesome. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Carlton DJ’d our wedding at the White Room on 7/9/21 in St. Augustine and he was amazing!! He made himself available to us several times during the planning process for long phone calls helping us develop a schedule of events. Most importantly, he helped us prioritize the most important part of the wedding for my wife, which was the dancing! On the day of the event, Carlton absolutely nailed it. He made our wedding the dance party we wanted. His website is easy to use and his price is extremely reasonable. His larger-than-life personality made everyone instantly comfortable. Do yourself a favor and book Carlton for your wedding!

This review is almost a year late, but Carlton was our DJ and he did an amazing job! We were clueless about the planning process; all we had to do was give him some general ideas and he was on it! He handled our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and everything went super smoothly. Our guests loved the music and the dance floor was full the entire night! I am just now researching DJs for my wedding next April. I just wanted to say that Carlton responded to my email request in absolute record time. Literally, probably less than a minute from the time I hit submit! Maybe it was just good timing, but I think that says a LOT about his dedication!

Choosing a DJ was one of the most important parts of the planning process for my wedding since the music really sets the vibe for the night and determines if your guests have a great time. McGee Entertainment did not disappoint. I received more feedback after my wedding about how much fun my wedding was and how guests could not stop dancing and that is all due to McGee Entertainment. Even my other vendors told me they had never seen so many people on the dance floor all night! They were awesome! I highly recommend!

Dametris was the best DJ! He made sure our ceremony flowed smoothly and knew exactly how to keep the dance floor packed at the reception. Our guests loved him and he helped make our day even more perfect!

We had the amazing Carlton DJ our wedding at The White Room. He was amazing! Not only did he provide music for our reception but also for the ceremony, and our cocktail hour. He was professional and made the overall flow of the wedding go very smoothly. He had a great attitude and got the guest on the dance floor. McGee has an online portal for you to pick your music, input timeline and bridal party names. I loved the online portal because it was helpful and I didn't have to go back and forth with emails. We spoke about a week or two prior to our wedding and went over all the details. He was very helpful with the questions that we had. I would highly recommend McGee Entertainment for any our your events. Thank you again Carlton for being a part of our big day!

I sort of had the same experience that Nicole had in 2017 (two years later in 2019) with some differences. Five stars for planning and communication with CARLTON. At our first meeting I felt a connection and knew he would be a blast. He came highly recommended by friends and was very professional and prepared. He also had great visuals for his planning process ready to show us. 2.5 or three stars for the actual wedding reception with MILTON. I know my situation wasn't planned, as I believe there was a death in the family the week before which resulted in Carlton not being able to DJ my wedding. We got the call and I knew it wouldn't be the same. We were assigned his brother, Milton. He was extremely hard to get in contact with, having to resort to get our other vendors (photog, coordinator, reception venue, and Carlton himself) to try to get a hold of him. He "never got our calls and emails." Our final meeting to go over details never happened. And I knew to expect the worst. My first dance with my husband was about 35 seconds. The music cut out while we were still dancing and were awkwardly talked off the dance floor by Milton. Nothing we wanted to be announced was announced. The music was not as played and mixed as promised. He sang/talked over the music and weirded out me and my guests. I so wish I could've had Carlton, because we had only ever heard great things. This really made me consider vetting future vendor's back ups before the contract is signed. I hate leaving three stars because I know it wasn't Carlton's fault but the contract was signed with, and the back up was coordinated by McGee Entertainment.

Carlton is the best! The dance floor was packed all night and he really made the music flow like magic. He handled all of the names like a pro during introductions (Mexican, Indian, Korean, and more!), arrived early and had top of the line equipment, and was overall super pleasant and easy to work with. Would hire him again for any event!

My Day-of-Coordinator recommended McGee Entertainment and gave glowing reviews. She was so right! My husband and I carefully curated a playlist of music that was special to us and our friends and family. We worked with Carlton, who was happy to take our playlist and include each song at our wedding! He listened and made suggestions where he thought were necessary regarding timing and we appreciated each of them. He also was right on with reading the crowd and incorporating other related music that gave the night a great vibe. It also happened to be his birthday and he worked so hard to keep the the flow throughout the entire event--so we had to stop, thank him, and sing him happy birthday! I highly recommend Carlton for your wedding or next event.

Carlton and Milton were awesome to work with and super nice! We had Milton as our DJ and he did a wonderful job MC'ing and with the selection of music. McGee has an awesome webpage where you provide them with all your wedding information and you can pick all of your songs on it, kind of like an iTunes. Milton did an awesome job of blending what we selected and what kept guests dancing. I would recommend them to anyone getting married in the Jacksonville area!

My husband and I got married at chandler oaks barn in st Augustine on 1/25/19. Mcgee entertainment was our DJ and they were INCREDIBLE!! They are so easy to work with, easy to get a hold of, very respectful and so much fun. The music was spot on and everything was as promised by them. Our dance floor was full all night and our guest count was only 55. Everyone said they loved our music. I highly recommend them!

We wish we could give Carlton 10 stars!! Even 2 weeks later we have had countless guests call and say it was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding. We had a huge dance floor, & he kept it packed with everyone dancing the entire reception! He lets you pick your own music, but we were happy that we left room for him to read the crowd to play music that would keep everyone up and having fun too. He got up and was helping people learn the line dances (even my grandparents were up learning them and dancing the entire time). Carlton also went above and beyond on our wedding day. I wanted to sing and play guitar to perform a song i wrote for my husband. He arranged mics and stands to make it possible. We also wanted music playing during our sparkler exit, & he put a speaker outside to make that possible as well. If you want your guests to have fun at your wedding McGee entertainment is a MUST! McGee Entertainment did a great job for my recent wedding. DJ Milton was the DJ for my big day and he was awesome. He was always very easy to get into contact with and very personable. He did a great job of explaining everything and was very flexible, especially with my last minute requests. I would definitely recommend this company!

Fun, upbeat, energetic, and professional! We are so pleased that we used McGee Entertainment for our wedding at Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville Beach, FL. The DJ was on point for our ceremony music that I chose. We gave him a handful of “oldies” songs we’d wanted played during the beginning of our reception and he delivered. We asked him to mix it up after that and we were very pleased with his choices —all appropriate and memorable. He had us put our choices into an easy to use database before our wedding day which helped guide us in choosing specific songs for specific moments. We cannot say enough how pleased we are with this vendor. You will not be disappointed with this choice!

McGee Entertainment provides an amazing experience from start to finish. We had sought them out after seeing them work with our friends at their wedding a couple years ago. Carlton & Milton are both very professional and enthusiastic. Very quick to respond to emails and calls/texts which was so important to us during the planning process. Milton arrived with more than enough time to set up and make sure everything ran smoothly. He made every announcement with style and made sure the wedding party was announced correctly. He helped to keep the timeline on track, there was never a lull in between different activities and dancing. All of our music requests were met and Milton stuck to our "do not play" list even when a guest requested a song from it. Carlton was the best DJ ever! He helped to make our wedding special and memorable and enjoyable for everyone. We wanted music that people would dance to, that would keep a party feel, and he did an amazing job. If a song wasn't working, he'd just fade it out and play something else! It was all about the party and not about him. He also did the music for the ceremony and helped with the time schedule so that everything happened on time. We used his website to set up the time schedule for the service and the reception, and everything went smoothly. Incredibly professional. Our guests kept telling us how great the food was and how great the DJ was. I recommend him any day and twice on Sunday!

Carlton was one of the best decisions we could have ever made. Our guests were saying how hard it was for them to eat their dinner, because they just wanted to dance all night. Carlton really puts the bride and groom's input into play. We didn't leave the dance floor all night. If I could relive this past weekend over again, I would do it in a heartbeat. We booked Carlton for our wedding DJ after having a few people refer us to him & we are so happy we booked him! Our wedding was at the Casa Marina & once everyone knew we'd booked Carlton, they were all like "Oh, you're in good hands. You've got nothing to worry about." & that was honestly the absolute truth. Carlton is not only the nicest person, but he's got such a great & professional attitude, he kept the wedding flowing as it needed to, and he was fantastic at reading our guests and playing music to keep people dancing! We told him that we wanted a dance party reception. And we got it! We gave him some suggestions for songs we liked, but I'm glad he just uses that more so as a guide than a playlist because he picked out better ones that fit our crowd that night. We had so many guests tell us how much they were loving the music he was playing!! Everyone's feet were so sore the next day from dancing all night long :) And fyi, for anyone like us who wanted live music for the ceremony but a DJ for the remainder - even though he went on when the cocktail hour started, we still had him there for the ceremony time because he put mics on the officiant and groom so everyone could hear our ceremony. This is so vital to have someone there to amplify the ceremony so your guests can actually hear everything. We definitely plan on recommending Carlton McGee to all couples we know for their future weddings! :) - Carlina & Mike

Let me just start off by saying that I have heard a lot of good things about the company itself, but I was the unlucky one who didn't have a great experience. They were good at responding to emails quickly and my reception was really fun. The not so good: I booked McGee over a year in advance of my wedding date and since I had been e-mailing and texting Carlton, I thought that's who my DJ was. I didn't realize until a month before my wedding that I was actually assigned to Dametris. He was very nice and looked great at the wedding. The ugly: I was disappointed to find out that they wouldn't shorten my music for me, so I had my friend who edits and arranges music professionally do it for me. I e-mailed the files and put them on a USB drive in the exact order I wanted them played for the ceremony. The ceremony ended up being a complete disaster! First, he showed up after the music was supposed to start when he told me he would be there an hour early. The music was terrible...some songs wouldn't play and they played completely out of order...I didn't get to walk down the aisle to the song that I had been dreaming of and practicing to for over a year. He claimed the USB drive corrupted the files and had issues before he even got there. If he had told me that beforehand, there wouldn't have been an issue because I still had all of the music downloaded on my phone. They did give me a partial refund after I complained, although not as much as I was expecting. I probably wouldn't have been as annoyed had he not made so many excuses and simply said it was his fault and he messed up. I am still upset by the music, as it was so important to me and I can't even listen to the songs I had picked out anymore.

I felt like we hired the best DJ. Milton was so much fun! I didn't have too many set songs, so he helped suggest some and they were perfect. I loved hearing them at the appropriate time during the wedding and reception. The tiny dance floor was packed all night long and he was great keeping the guests informed about upcoming events at the reception like the toast, cake cutting, etc. I would not have a party again without hiring McGee Entertainment!!! Carlton was amazing all around! Everyone told me he was their favorite and now I know why! Communication and planning was very easy and enjoyable. At our meeting we really got a good sense of his personality and his passion for what he does. On our wedding day he was professional but was still fun and even helped lead/teach a dance for everyone! He kept everything flowing smoothly and kept people dancing all night long! If I ever need a DJ, Carlton will be the one I call!

Carlton made our night AMAZING! First off, his ceremony setup was perfect on the beach and his timing was impeccable. His cocktail & reception sections were fantastic! He knows how to read the room and get everyone to dance . We had a good mix of young & not-so-young people and he got everyone up, including my FIL who does NOT dance! We had a noise complaint from the hotel next door but he didn't let that get in the way - he was ready to do whatever we needed to keep the party going! Our guests are still telling us how much fun they had and how great he was. Milton was the DJ for our wedding and he was AMAZING. Admittedly, the music portion of our wedding was my favorite part about the entire wedding planning process, and Milton was so much fun to work with. He was incredibly professional throughout the process, and our initial introductory meeting really set the tone for what to expect leading up to the wedding. Let me first say that Milton is ALWAYS on time. You can count on him for this. He created a wedding website for us, and we were able to create a playlist, based on the music that we like. This is certainly not mandatory for individuals who would prefer for the DJ to choose the music. If you are one of those individuals who prefers to have the DJ choose the music, all you have to tell Milton is what genre or style of music you prefer, and he can take it and run with it. He is an incredible MC -it was so impressive, and he made the entire evening so much fun. He even came out on the dance floor with us, which was a huge crowd pleaser. I will be referring him to anyone I know who is looking for a DJ in the area. You will not be disappointed.

McGee Entertainment is the bomb! Our wedding was all DJ - ceremony, cocktail hour, reception. I had some specific requests and Carlton was great about playing what I wanted (with some great additions,) and providing an awesome, fun atmosphere. Many guests said it was the most fun wedding they had been to and that they had never danced so hard - that was thanks to McGee Entertainment. Choose them - you WON'T be disappointed.

I was an out of town bride so I didn’t meet Milton until the day of the wedding. I heard from my wedding planner that he was awesome so I booked him. He did a great job, he was very entertaining, played all the songs I wanted him to and unfortunately one of my guests was really rude to him and he was very mature and didn’t acknowledge the guy who was acting like a jerk face. I can’t thank him enough for ignoring the guy because if it were me, I’d want to hit the guy. He did a great job though and the party never stopped, Everyone was dancing at all times!

Carlton McGee was very easy to talk to and work with for our wedding. Our day of DJ ended up being Milton McGee and we were not disappointed! He was able to make the events flow together well and brought a very fun energy that made the night unforgettable!

You can tell they take every event seriously and it runs like a well-oiled machine. Using their website, you can plan your day and make song requests on your own time. Carlton was so amazing! He was so professional and organized and he made a point to pronounce all of our bridal parties names correctly which was not an easy task with some of the names. I also got many compliments from guests because he actually listened to what guests were requesting. Choosing a DJ is a difficult task for wedding planning because they can make or break your night and Carlton did such an amazing job I would recommend him to anyone!

Carlton was a fantastic DJ! We were referred to him by a friend, as he DJed her wedding, and we saw then what a great DJ he was. He was very helpful and responsive leading up to the wedding and I was confident we were in good hands! He took the time to walk us through the details of the ceremony and reception so we knew what to expect day of. We had picked out a few of our favorite songs for the playlist, but he knew exactly what kind of music we were looking for just my seeing a few of our favorite selections. He knew exactly what to play and when, to keep everybody on their feet and having fun, while also keeping it a classy and appropriate for all ages. In addition to the music, he kept the events of the day flowing smoothly. Overall we were very impressed and got many compliments, and I would definitely him recommend for your wedding!

Carlton was awesome! He kept the dancing lively with the variety of music he played and took many requests to please everyone. He played appropriate music during cocktail hour and dinner and kept the night flowing by explaining what we were doing (i.e. toast, parent dance etc. Overall, he was fantastic and would definitely recommend him!

Carlton McGee of McGee Entertainment is fantastic! His company was recommended to us by another local DJ, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! We spoke with Carlton on the phone a few times on the phone before the event, and he was friendly, upbeat, and energetic. He immediately understood the type of atmosphere and music we wanted to have for our guests, and he was willing to buy any music that he didn't already have. We were able to enter in the "special" songs for the reception directly on his website, and we simply verified them on a phone call to make sure all was in place. On the day of the event, Carlton showed up dressed in a suit with a big smile on his face! He was a fantastic MC, keeping the reception moving nicely and directing people to either watch, sit, or dance at various points when appropriate. His energy and happiness was contagious- everyone had such a blast! We highly recommend!!!

Nate was the DJ for our wedding and he did an incredible job! Nate worked with me to select the right songs and was able to make small adjustments to personalize our experience. He kept our guests on the dance floor all night and was able to feel the crowd in order to play the right songs. Our guests are still talking about how much fun our reception was and we owe a lot of that to DJ Nate! We can't wait to see the video of all our guests dancing and having a great time. I am one the fence about this vendor. I really enjoyed the selection process (it is all online and organized which I enjoyed), but I was very disappointed in the final outcome of our ceremony choices. I picked non traditional songs (with words) for my bridal party and I and he picked the movie version of "Tale as Old as Time" so you heard Chip's voice which completely KILLED the feeling- and it was my wedding interlude!! He used the very beginning of the songs so by the time the words started more than half of us were already there. What upset me the most is while we were lining up to be introduced somehow the pairings were messed up (he wrote down the wrong names) and instead of writing down the correct pairs quickly- pen in hand, he had the couples split up to the way he wrote it down. It threw everything off. He was extremely rude to myself, my husband and each bridal party member that tried to correct their name pronunciations. Everyone was extremely disgusted and shocked with how we were being talked to. After that however the other song choices seemed to be done pretty well. All of the dances went correctly and were timed well. Those that wanted to dance did and he wasn't too crazy on the mic. Once we were able to get in and start the party it was fine, but those first (and in my opinion most important interactions) were not handled professionally.

Thankful they were able to cover us at the last minute.

Milton is fabulous! He got on the floor to teach us a few moves. He helped with the flow of all the events. If it wasn't for him, I don't know what we would have done!! He played the perfect music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. He is very high energy when he needs to be, and low key when things need to chill. He was able to play all of the most important songs and gave us some key advice. The website they have makes everything super easy.
