McGee has an online portal for you to pick your music, input timeline and bridal party names. I loved the online portal because it was helpful and I didn't have to go back and forth with emails. He also had great visuals for his planning process ready to show us. 2.5 or three stars for the actual wedding reception with MILTON. I know my situation wasn't planned, as I believe there was a death in the family the week before which resulted in Carlton not being able to DJ my wedding. We got the call and I knew it wouldn't be the same. We were assigned his brother, Milton. He was extremely hard to get in contact with, having to resort to get our other vendors (photog, coordinator, reception venue, and Carlton himself) to try to get a hold of him. He "never got our calls and emails." Our final meeting to go over details never happened. And I knew to expect the worst. My first dance with my husband was about 35 seconds. The music cut out while we were still dancing and were awkwardly talked off the dance floor by Milton. Nothing we wanted to be announced was announced. The music was not as played and mixed as promised. He sang/talked over the music and weirded out me and my guests. I so wish I could've had Carlton, because we had only ever heard great things. This really made me consider vetting future vendor's back ups before the contract is signed. I hate leaving three stars because I know it wasn't Carlton's fault but the contract was signed with, and the back up was coordinated by McGee Entertainment.

He lets you pick your own music, but we were happy that we left room for him to read the crowd to play music that would keep everyone up and having fun too. He got up and was helping people learn the line dances (even my grandparents were up learning them and dancing the entire time). Carlton also went above and beyond on our wedding day. I wanted to sing and play guitar to perform a song i wrote for my husband. He arranged mics and stands to make it possible. We also wanted music playing during our sparkler exit, & he put a speaker outside to make that possible as well. If you want your guests to have fun at your wedding McGee entertainment is a MUST! We asked him to mix it up after that and we were very pleased with his choices —all appropriate and memorable. He had us put our choices into an easy to use database before our wedding day which helped guide us in choosing specific songs for specific moments. We cannot say enough how pleased we are with this vendor. You will not be disappointed with this choice!

& Milton are both very professional and enthusiastic. Very quick to respond to emails and calls/texts which was so important to us during the planning process. Milton arrived with more than enough time to set up and make sure everything ran smoothly. He made every announcement with style and made sure the wedding party was announced correctly. He helped to keep the timeline on track, there was never a lull in between different activities and dancing. All of our music requests were met and Milton stuck to our "do not play" list even when a guest requested a song from it. He was able to keep guests on the dance floor throughout the night and chose music that went with the vibe of the guests. Everything was on point! Thank you so much McGee Entertainment!

We used his website to set up the time schedule for the service and the reception, and everything went smoothly. Incredibly professional. Our guests kept telling us how great the food was and how great the DJ was. I recommend him any day and twice on Sunday!

Carlton, they were all like "Oh, you're in good hands. You've got nothing to worry about." & that was honestly the absolute truth. Carlton is not only the nicest person, but he's got such a great & professional attitude, he kept the wedding flowing as it needed to, and he was fantastic at reading our guests and playing music to keep people dancing! We told him that we wanted a dance party reception. And we got it! We gave him some suggestions for songs we liked, but I'm glad he just uses that more so as a guide than a playlist because he picked out better ones that fit our crowd that night. We had so many guests tell us how much they were loving the music he was playing!! Everyone's feet were so sore the next day from dancing all night long :) And fyi, for anyone like us who wanted live music for the ceremony but a DJ for the remainder - even though he went on when the cocktail hour started, we still had him there for the ceremony time because he put mics on the officiant and groom so everyone could hear our ceremony. This is so vital to have someone there to amplify the ceremony so your guests can actually hear everything. We definitely plan on recommending Carlton McGee to all couples we know for their future weddings! :) - Carlina & Mike

The not so good: I booked McGee over a year in advance of my wedding date and since I had been e-mailing and texting Carlton, I thought that's who my DJ was. I didn't realize until a month before my wedding that I was actually assigned to Dametris. He was very nice and looked great at the wedding. The ugly: I was disappointed to find out that they wouldn't shorten my music for me, so I had my friend who edits and arranges music professionally do it for me. I e-mailed the files and put them on a USB drive in the exact order I wanted them played for the ceremony. The ceremony ended up being a complete disaster! First, he showed up after the music was supposed to start when he told me he would be there an hour early. The music was terrible...some songs wouldn't play and they played completely out of order...I didn't get to walk down the aisle to the song that I had been dreaming of and practicing to for over a year. He claimed the USB drive corrupted the files and had issues before he even got there. If he had told me that beforehand, there wouldn't have been an issue because I still had all of the music downloaded on my phone. They did give me a partial refund after I complained, although not as much as I was expecting. I probably wouldn't have been as annoyed had he not made so many excuses and simply said it was his fault and he messed up. I am still upset by the music, as it was so important to me and I can't even listen to the songs I had picked out anymore.

Let me first say that Milton is ALWAYS on time. You can count on him for this. He created a wedding website for us, and we were able to create a playlist, based on the music that we like. This is certainly not mandatory for individuals who would prefer for the DJ to choose the music. If you are one of those individuals who prefers to have the DJ choose the music, all you have to tell Milton is what genre or style of music you prefer, and he can take it and run with it. He is an incredible MC -it was so impressive, and he made the entire evening so much fun. He even came out on the dance floor with us, which was a huge crowd pleaser. I will be referring him to anyone I know who is looking for a DJ in the area. You will not be disappointed.
