husband's parents' backyard with our heels sinking into the ground (how were we frozen but the ground wasn't??) but the pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL, even more perfect than I could have hoped. We only have a couple of sneak peek photos so far, which were amazingly posted within 12 hours of Emily and John leaving our wedding, and we can't wait to see the rest! I chose the McNiels because of how beautifully they capture the light of golden hour in their photos and how natural and real they are. I can't recommend them enough!

so glad that we will have them forever to remember such a special day. Two days after the wedding they had sneak-peak highlight photos that made us so happy to have immediately following the wedding. Throughout the entire photographing experience, both photographers did an amazing job leading us and our bridal party. They made us feel comfortable and natural while they were taking pictures. They captured some stunning sunset photos and a bunch of candid action shots during the entire day. I wish I could give them 6 stars. Highly highly highly recommend.

It was quite warm on our wedding day and don't Emily & John suggested changing up the location for our pictures to give us access to sit conditioning, and yet they still found gorgeous places to get pictures. The whole bridal party was thankful to have a place to cool down between shots! You will definitely not regret hiring them!

not the most comfortable in front of a camera. We had such a fun time during our engagement photo session, even though we had cold dreary weather. There are so many beautiful photos that came out of that afternoon! On our wedding day, I never felt stressed about looking a certain way or doing an unnatural pose. Emily and John just capture the natural feelings and smiles that come out! We are so grateful that we chose Emily and John to document the biggest day of our lives. They were amazing to work with; everyone from the bridal party and our families cannot say enough good things about the two of them! John and Emily were able to accommodate that for a totally reasonable price and were such a fun, laid back couple who kept us completely at ease all day. I really appreciated their way of guiding us through photos so that we were never guessing how we should pose, but without making us feel unnatural or frozen. And our photos are COMPLETELY GORGEOUS!! When we were looking for a photographer, we were able to set up a video chat with them to talk through who they are, what they do during an event, and their services and costs. The McNeils had a very detailed and organized checklist for planned photos. We had another chat prior to the wedding day to walk through logistics. They were incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. Our photos are great, and truly capture the emotions and events of our wedding day. They did an equally great job with posed portraits at the church, and candid moments before and after the ceremony and at the reception. A wonderful bonus is that you couldn’t find nicer people who make everyone feel genuinely relaxed about having their picture taken. We would absolutely recommend McNeil Photography to anyone getting married.

Their personalities fit right in with our group and are just straight up lovely people. This is a duo who genuinely loves what they do and go above and beyond for each one of their couples. You may even get a few surprises in the mail along the way ;) One of my bridesmaids mentioned how she barely noticed Emily and John throughout the day when they were catching the candids, yet caught every moment. When looking for a photographer, having two photogs on my wedding day was not on my must-have list. However, after having both E&J shoot our wedding day, I would highly recommend having two photographers on your wedding day. You’ll get pictures you’d never get with just one, like the flower girl on her tiptoes looking out the window in the middle of the ceremony, or the bridesmaids laughing while the guys are taking pictures of their socks in the background. When I posted pictures on social media, many people mentioned how beautiful our pictures were. I would HIGHLY recommend McNiel photography to capture your wedding day.
