Dave was honestly the best photographer we could've asked for. From our first meeting, it was clear he was there to be a partner with us. He heard all of our fine details, was extremely organized, and did such a wonderful job capturing all of our best moments. We couldn't be happier!

Dave was so easy and wonderful to work with. He captured our wedding venue, our vibe as a couple, all of the people we love, and the fun we had in the best way. He was super communicative, flexible, and prompt in delivering the previews and full gallery. Would highly recommend.

Choosing wedding vendors is no easy task, but we made a great decision in hiring Dave. From the initial consultation, I could tell that Dave is a true professional. He is kind, easy to work with, and very organized. He made us feel comfortable and gave us great direction during our first look and formal photos. During the reception, Dave blended effortlessly into the background while still managing to capture the essence of our day. He also delivered “sneak peek” photos pretty quickly, which was a nice surprise. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but you will not have to worry about Dave if you choose him as your photographer. We highly recommend McShea Photography!

Dave and his team are fantastic! If you’re looking for someone who is going to make you feel comfortable and capture your special day, he’s your guy! Can I just have Dave follow me around and take pictures? He captures the best in every photo. Sneak peaks were sent within a week, and I can't stop looking at them. As a couple who doesn’t love to take photographs of ourselves, finding a great photographer was initially a daunting task for us. Luckily, we found David, who made this process simply seamless for us. David’s social media account and website clearly display his beautiful work which make every wedding look like a fairy tale. David responded to our inquiry quickly, and he was extremely thorough and organized during our initial meeting. We immediately booked him for our wedding which also included an engagement photo session. David made us feel comfortable while taking our photos. He was creative, and helped make the whole day so carefree and fun. Our photos were beautiful, and really captured our love on our special day. Dave is the BEST wedding photographer!! He really captured all of the fun that was had on our wedding night! We had so much fun together on the wedding day! He was super responsive to all forms of communication. He even spent an hour on the phone with me the week before my wedding as I was panicking about the forecasted rain in which he made a backup plan with me & calmed me down. It did rain on the wedding day, but we braved the weather together and had a great time doing so. The photos turned out beautiful. He was the perfect fit for my husband and I!

Dave is truly an amazing photographer. He was very professional and took time to make sure we had answers to all of our questions during the planning phase. Dave did our engagement shoot and we had an incredible experience. We were so pleased with our pictures and his ability to incorporate the Philly landscape into our photos. As our wedding day got closer, Dave helped us develop a timeline and plan for the day. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, he was unable to shoot our wedding day. When he broke the news to us, he already had a backup plan. Dave still edited our wedding photos, and as exepected, they were perfect. Dave was great. He came recommended by family who I trust, and in all honesty that's how we found most of our vendors, and I wouldn't change a thing. Dave made the whole process easy, simple, direct, and didn't waste our time. In the lead up, he was beyond easy to contact and extremely responsive. We are 9 months out from our wedding, and as I am getting ready to pick photos for our album, it is very hard to chose. I still love all the photos he & his team took. As far as the day of, Dave was super easy to accommodate. He was everywhere but also invisible. Our parents agreed that they were not invasive to the ceremony or the day. For family portraits, which could always be a little tricky with different family dynamics and age groups, he was wonderful, understood our circumstances, and was super effective and efficient. He captured our favorite moments of the day, the ones we planned and the one that naturally happened. He and his team are super adaptive and opened to your ideas. He is a great choice, and well worth the investment to create and capture the moments from your special day.

Choosing Dave as our photographer was one of the best choices I made when planning our wedding! Not only is he an incredibly talented artist with the camera, but he is also very professional and organized. Before the wedding we talked multiple times and he made sure to get every possible detail about our day so he wouldn't miss anything. Our ceremony had some unique religious aspects and program including extended periods of silence, however Dave expertly captured all of the details without ever being intrusive. Before I booked him I read a review were someone describe him as a ninja, and that is 100% accurate!! Looking back at the photos it seems like he was everywhere at once and somehow still made time to setup some awesome lighting outside for some beautiful night shots. Not to mention he managed all of this on a broken ankle in a boot!!!! After the ceremony he was extremely efficient in taking our formal family photos, which was not an easy job due to some complex family dynamics. He was able to get all the family photos that everyone wanted without making anyone feel awkward or left out. After sharing the photos I got so many compliments and people asking for his info! We also did an engagement photo session with him which I would highly recommend doing as well :-) Thanks Dave!

We cannot recommend David McShea enough. He made the day absolutely seamless for us; got every single photo we could think of and more; and put us and our guests at ease. He is attentive to detail and worked to get all of the group and family shots in all of the variations that we wanted - which isn't easy with a large family and various dynamics! He worked to get the best shots and also unique ones like through our old staircase we had - it turned out great! He puts everyone at ease to the point you almost forget he is there, so that he captures the authentic moments! We also did an engagement shoot with him leading up to the wedding and loved how our photos turned out there too. We recommend doing both if you can - you won't regret it!

Where do I start? We met Dave back in 2019, and have done 2 engagement sessions and 2 (10/10/20 & 11/12/21) weddings! Dave was always willing and able to work with us to meet the needs and wants we envisioned for our wedding day(s)! He always made us feel comfortable and was so organized and made every part of the process a breeze! To say we are BEYOND in love with our photos would be an understatement, and everyone still talks about them today! David was AMAZING and far exceeded our expectations. He was organized and so easy to work with. Dave McShea is the absolute best! He is the most organized, passionate, and talented photographer you could ask for. He captured our wedding day perfectly, and he is a huge reason the day ran as smoothly as it did! When you look at his portfolio you can tell he’s an amazing photographer, but what you don’t see before you choose him is how seriously he takes this job. He was the easiest vendor to work with by far because he is so organized and knows how important it is to keep things on schedule. He also got all our photos back to us way sooner than we expected! We had Allison as our second photographer, and she was incredible as well! They worked together as a team, and they were definitely enjoying themselves while doing it. To say our wedding pictures turned out incredible would be an understatement. Dave does a great job with coaching you throughout the day to make your pictures look natural and not overly posed. Dave is also very time conscious which helps move things along on schedule but he is also very flexible and ready to roll with all the things that inevitably can go wrong on your big day. Dave truly has a gift and there wasn’t a moment or detail of the day he didn’t capture. Lastly, your photographer is someone you spend HOURS with (we hired him for roughly 12). Dave is the kinda guy that is personable and genuinely enjoyable to be around, even joining us in singing ‘dancing on my own’ on the party bus after the ceremony. I found Dave through a mutual friend's wedding pictures on instagram and after seeing his site and portfolio I knew I wanted him for our wedding. His night shots are jaw dropping! This inclination was further confirmed during our first meeting with him - we felt so comfortable and at ease. Dave was super organized and kept everything moving which was so appreciated and allowed us to get every shot we requested on our list. Multiple guests remarked that he was seemingly everywhere and was great all day and night - which I totally agree! On top of that, Dave returned our pictures to us in record time. Dave did such a fantastic job with our wedding photos and engagement photos. Would HIGHLY and happily recommend him to anyone. The photos were extreme quality - but Dave really took it to the next step. For example, his pre-photo session meetings were well organized, covered off everything that is important, and showcased his depth of knowledge around photography and also his depth of knowledge around the Philly area and expertise in how to take the best, and most memorable shots. Further, during the wedding and throughout, Dave was professional and also superb at capturing the moments that matter without being invasive. We are so thrilled to have been able to work with Dave and would recommend him to anyone. It was such a memorable day and Dave really captured the moments perfectly.

There is good reason why Dave McShea’s reviews are all 5 stars. He has an amazing eye for detail and knows exactly how to set the best lighting for stunning photos. Dave was wonderful to work with and extremely communicative and professional. We appreciated that he was so accommodating for those who have busy work schedules. Call us crazy but we hired a Philly photographer for a Delaware wedding while living 3 hours away in Maryland – thank goodness for video chats! Expect to spend one hour for the intro meeting and, while at first it may seem overwhelming, you will be so glad that he covers all the specifics in as much detail as he does. He’ll go over things you’d probably never even considered like whether or not you need a permit for photos at a particular venue. His level of knowledge and experience were very evident from that first meeting, and he did not disappoint! He also gave us valuable advice on red flags to be aware of as we were searching for other wedding vendors. Dave recommended several videographers, and we were so happy with the one we chose from his list. He will keep you apprised of every detail you need to know regarding his expectations for the day as well as yours. He gave us plenty of time to fill out the Pinterest idea board and family formals list and, in hindsight, probably kept us more organized than we kept ourselves! He helped us generate a timeline well before our wedding planner even had the chance to…he’s that good. On Dave’s website he says he has ninja skills – he’s not kidding, we have video evidence! He managed to get a perfectly centered shot of me throwing the bouquet in the air and somehow swooped his way around to get an action shot of my friend catching the bouquet just in time. The candid shots were great and the expressions he captured had us laughing and tearing up all at once! His night shots and formal shots at a nearby rose garden were the highlights of our photo spread. The pictures he refers to as “high value shots” were so impressive and unlike any pictures we’ve ever had taken before. When photos were done, we received a crystal photo USB in rose gold packaging – a very nice, classy touch. We are so thrilled with how well they all turned out and can’t wait to see the printed albums! Thank you so much, Dave, for capturing so many memories that we will hold dear forever!!

Dave was absolutely amazing to work with for our wedding. He was very professional but friendly at the same time. We gave him a plan for the day before the wedding and he kept to the schedule perfectly. His directions during the photos were clear and easy to follow, which was important because we had 14 bridesmaids+groomsmen and 2 flower girls. We set up a meeting with him a few weeks before the wedding where we told him all of the pictures (family shots, etc) that we wanted, and he made sure to get them all. The wedding was at the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia, but he came with us to the park nearby (Rittenhouse) and also to city hall to take the photos. The pictures he took during the reception, especially of everyone dancing, were also great. It only took him a few days after the wedding to send us some sample pictures, a little less than a month to send us all of the final edited pictures. Everything came out wonderfully, and we highly recommend working with him!

Cannot thank Dave enough for the amazing time and photos he has done for us for both of our engagement session and wedding day. We immediately knew we wanted Dave when we came across his profile on The Knot and we are so happy he was our photographer! Dave could not have been more perfect for our wedding and I cannot speak more highly of him and his work. After looking at different styles of photography on Instagram, we found Dave and knew what we wanted for our wedding. His pictures are fun, action packed, and so visually stunning. We reached out to Dave during the pandemic, and he worked with us over Zoom to understand what our goals of the wedding were and what pictures we would want and when. We loved his organization and laid out timeline of which photos would be occurring when. Since we booked so far out, we connected with him ~6 months out to discuss additional photos (we wanted some photos with our dog) and he was able to find time to meet with us. It was amazing meeting live prior to the event to get an understanding of how he worked, but truly, I think if we didn't have the opportunity to meet prior, he would have understood what we were looking for based on our conversations. During the wedding, he covered everything we wanted and more--I truly cannot believe the amount of high quality pictures we got back (literally all). In looking at the pictures Dave sent back, I don't know where he could have been standing to get them-- he is somehow everywhere unnoticed. Dave captured the best day of our lives and we are so thankful he was available to work with us. We really did have the best photographer and made the experience of the day that much better.

TLDR: Working with Dave was a wonderful experience throughout! We would not hesitate for a single second to recommend him to anyone in search of a photographer. We first booked Dave back in 2019 for a spring 2020 wedding which was derailed by COVID. Dave was a consummate professional as we navigated the next 2 years, shooting our backyard marriage ceremony and rebooking our reception not once, but TWICE (thanks to Omicron) at no additional expense. He remained in communication with us throughout the entire process and kept us up to date on available reschedule dates, local guidances, etc. When it came time for the day of our much-delayed reception, Dave was a calming presence right from the start. Having him there in the morning helped to set the tone for a successful and (mostly) stress-free day. He made sure that we got all the shots we wanted in a timely fashion and was a big part in keeping the day moving at an appropriate pace. He struck the perfect balance between being just involved enough, but also staying out of the way when that's what was needed. The turnaround time on photos was super quick as well, getting some highlights back to us by the time we returned from our honeymoon and the full photoset within a few weeks. Overall, the experience we had working with Dave could not have been better despite a pandemic throwing a wrench into our plans. He is a true professional and has a knack for capturing those great candid moments from the day that everyone wants to see.

I could write a book about how fantastic Dave is!! Once my husband and I (virtually) met Dave, we knew that we made the right choice for our wedding photographer. From our very first zoom call, Dave was kind, professional, and meticulously organized. He checked in with us multiple times in the months leading up to our wedding to finalize timelines and shot lists and was available any time we had a question or concern. The day of our wedding Dave was like a ninja! Aside from formals, I maybe only caught him once or twice throughout our entire wedding, yet he managed to capture every single detail of our day. Dave was also very open to suggestion when it came to pictures and had a lot of really cool ideas! His picture turnaround was just over a month, and when we got our pictures back I cried! They were absolutely magical and everything I could have ever wanted. My husband and I could not thank Dave enough for the exquisite work he did for our wedding!

Dave was such an incredible vendor to work with! We loved him so much, and the pictures turned out beautifully! He was definitely a sense of calm during the busy day, and was able to make sure we got photos of literally everything we wanted! He is so ontop of his game, and he truly (like other reviews have said) is a ninja. He was somehow everywhere all night long, and in the middle of everything, without you even knowing! Our dance floor got crazy and he managed to get so many amazing photos. He was also so helpful with planning a schedule, and having back up plans and ideas when we were unable to stick to it when the weather had other plans for us. My husband and I found Dave as a recommended vendor from our venue, Yards, in Philadelphia. It felt like fate to stumble across such a great photographer from our dream space. We really appreciated how Dave got to know our personality as a couple in our pre-wedding zoom consultations. He also helped advise where he could best fit in photo moments amidst a separate schedule we had worked through with our DJ. We had a Jewish ceremony on Shabbat, so things got rolling after sunset. Dave had a great rapport with us and the wedding party. He kept things moving efficiently and calmly. We didn’t feel stressed in our tighter timeline. While my husband and I went to our yichud space, Dave got all set at Yards. He was able to help corral the wedding party for some of our favorite photos by the stacks of cans in the brewery. He also paid special attention to all the candid shots during the reception, which were priority for us. Having Dave at the wedding felt like having a great partner through the event. His efficiency even after the wedding was amazing. We had preview shots already a few days afterward. The full swath of photos came through the following month. Hire this man. You won’t regret it.

Working with Dave was a phenomenal experience! We are so glad that we hired him for our 12/4/21 wedding. My husband and I are not ones to be photographed, and he did a great job leading us through poses, expressions, and the likes. He also did a great job including our crazy dogs in our engagement session! Dave was nothing but professional and flexible throughout COVID, which we are so grateful for. He was upfront about all charges and upgrades and didn’t push us into extra time or a second shooter. Most importantly, our final photos are beautiful and were delivered with a much shorter timeline than I expected! I would recommend Dave to everybody I know. He was an absolute pleasure to work with leading up to the wedding, during the wedding and after. He is organized, extremely responsive, and passionate about fulfilling your wedding vision. We got married in the fall of 2021, when vendors were managing a higher volume of weddings than ever before, and Dave made it seem like a breeze. He did a great job of making sure he knew what we had to have and what was nice to have/optional. Our wedding day was JAM PACKED and he still made all the photos happen (even all the optional ones). He exceeded every expectation, he gave us our highlight photos a few days after the wedding and he gave us way more than we expected. Plus his turn around time was very fast. The quality of the photos are amazing. Everyone I show them to says that they belong in a wedding magazine, and I wholeheartedly agree! I truly cherish the photos that he gave us and the experience that he delivered. Do not hesitate to hire him, he was an integral part in delivering our wedding vision.

Dave was by far one of our favorite vendors to work with for our wedding this past June. I tend to stress over very minor details and he just made the process so easy for both of us. I cannot say enough about Dave! You can tell right from the start that he loves what he does! He has a great eye for capturing candid shots that you might've missed while you were partying the night away. He has a wonderful personality and makes you feel at ease when taking posed shots. We had a large bridal party and he was able to keep everyone in line and the picture process went so smoothly. He answers emails/calls/texts right away too! Which not all vendors will do; I was a nervous bride so I greatly appreciated the communication. He's also super nice when family might get in the way to try a snap a quick picture. He's great with children too! We had a couple of little ones and he made sure to get pictures where they were smiling. Super professional, but still down to Earth, and just genuinely a really good guy! I HIGHLY recommend Dave and will tell everyone about him! :)

As a couple who really didn't know what we wanted for our photos, we could not have asked for a better photographer than Dave! He was so incredibly helpful in working with us to think of the best shots for our engagement/wedding shoots. He was also incredibly responsive during the planning phases and gave us the outlines we needed to better plan our day to get the photos we wanted the most. During the wedding day it started to rain and he remained positive throughout and worked to make sure we got all of our photos during the periods the rain stopped. During the reception it felt like David was everywhere and no where at the same time, always taking photos with various groups and available for us anytime we wanted to get a particular photo. As for the photos themselves I'm writing this review before receiving the final edits but based on what I saw from our final edits during our engagement shoot and the sneak peak of the wedding photos I'm confident they will come out excellent!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Dave was incredible to work with. He was so nice and very communicative throughout the entire process. We were so lucky to come across his shots on Instagram and that he was available when we reached out. In our last planning meeting we talked with Dave for 2 HOURS because he wanted to make sure he had every detail of the day noted down so we got all the shots we wanted. He gave great recommendations when it came to where to take photographs in the city and mapping out our timeline of the day. On the day of the wedding he made sure we were where we needed to be when we needed to be to get all the photos at the various locations we wanted. We got our photos back this week and our wedding was only a month ago - I was so surprised and pleased with the turnaround time considering the number of weddings vendors are working this season. Most importantly, the photos are breathtaking. He caught so many moments and his use of color made our venue look amazing. I would recommend Dave to anyone!

We contacted Dave after falling in love with one of his photos on our venue’s Instagram feed, and were super happy to learn he was available on our wedding day. We quickly realized that photo we loved was one of many! Even though we didn’t meet him in-person prior to the wedding (we were planning our wedding in the middle of the pandemic, after all, and were living cross-country in Seattle), he made sure to set up different Zoom meetings and put great care into planning what our day would be like. Right from the start, we knew we were in the best hands. Come our wedding day, it felt like we had known Dave for a long time and he was another friend celebrating with us. We never felt we were unnaturally posing for any shots; instead, him and Vamsi (our 2nd photographer) created a space for us to let go, enjoy the moment, and be ourselves. They were able to capture every photo we wanted to, and those night shots were magical!! Not only did we recreate that photo we loved under the lighted tent, but Dave also set up a photo outdoors under the night sky with the tree line as our backdrop that was just breathtaking. Soon after the wedding, Dave sent us some highlight pictures from our day. After seeing these, we knew the rest of the pictures would be amazing, but we definitely didn’t expect to them to be as stunning as they were. The quality of the photos and how beautifully they were presented on the website (catalogued by event: getting ready, first look, formals, ceremony, etc.), plus the USB with all the images, absolutely exceeded our expectations. All of our family and friends could not stop complimenting Dave and Vamsi’s professionalism and how gorgeous the images turned out. So Dave, THANK YOU for capturing the magic of our wedding day. Our wedding was held in the historic district of Philadelphia and we couldn't have asked for a photographer better than Dave McShea! He is very professional, friendly, punctual, and has an eye for capturing the perfect photo! Our wedding photos are absolutely beautiful! Dave was so easy to work with! He answered every question and was very accommodating. He knew exactly what we wanted the day of our wedding and he was also right there when an impromptu photo opportunity presented itself. We would have given 10 stars! Words just cannot express how talented and creative Dave is and how he helped make our day, a day to remember. A ninja photographer at its finest! Dave is very professional, yet friendly; he is the teammate you wish you had. He will take both photos that you want and photos that you didn’t know you wanted!! He takes into account every detail of you and your surroundings, being very patient with giving us the instructions we needed to make sure the photos came out perfect. From taking photos on the coldest day at an alpaca farm, to a rainy day in a mansion, regardless of weather, indoor/outdoor, he will make great photos happen! Dave is incredible to work with. We found him on the Knot and ended up using him for our engagement photos and beach wedding. We knew from the first meeting he was the photographer for us. Little did we know he would end up sticking the pandemic out with us. When the time came, Dave captured our wedding beautifully. We’d recommend him to anyone. Especially for his beach shots, candid shots, and night shots!

I honestly can’t say enough about David. We found him on The Knot and loved the photos we saw. We really wanted a city hall night shot and the ones we saw had us reaching out to him. After our first zoom call, we hung up and we were sold. He was more expensive then the other vendors we spoke to but we didn’t care. He spent time getting to know us and really listening to what we wanted. After our conversations, I felt like he was our friend! He continued to offer to help us with whatever we needed. When COVID pushed back our wedding, he was so accommodating. I had so much trouble with my other vendors but he was easy and helpful that it allowed me to just relax knowing that was settled. The day of he was great! My husband and I are pretty laid back and not really picky. But I think we just knew he would get the best shots we wanted so we left it up to him. I started to feel a little bad because we were just like… you tells us what you want to do and we will do it. We didn’t really give him many suggestions. But honesty, he didn’t need it. It rained during our photos and he quickly reworked our pictures and used different inside areas that turned out amazing. Throughout the night I turned to find him a few times for pictures of me with friends and he was always right there ready to go. And we got our night shot! Best experience. He was quick and easy and the shot was phenomenal. Exactly what we wanted. I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos. The ones we have, people have told us they look like they are from a magazine! Thank you for making us look good David! And for working with our laid back attitudes. You were just amazing. The best we worked with.
