I am a wedding officiant who is dedicated to giving couples a custom-written, fun, meaningful and memorable wedding ceremony. Love and storytelling are my passion, and it is the reason I love to do what I do. Each love story is unique, and by learning about your love, and listening, I am able to create something special that you will love, and your guests will never forget. As a trained and ordained multi-faith officiant and minister, I welcome and love to work with all kinds of couples.
As your love story is different ,so should your ceremony. I am open to customize your special day with beautiful additions such as jumping the broom, handfasting, unity candle lighting, sand ceremony and so much more. My goal is to help you create the kind of ceremony that brings your wedding day visions to life.
I officiate wedding ceremonies at the venue or location of your choosing and I am often available on short notice. Upon advanced request, I am available for destination weddings. With my officiating service, I offer a free, no-obligation consultation to become familiar and discuss your visions for your wedding ceremony. I want to make sure we're a great fit for each other.
Meet Me at the Altar also offers non-officiating services such as , vow writing, speech writing for maid of honor/best man, love story write up, and wedding script. Feel free to contact me to discuss all options.

From the moment we met with Ope, my husband immediately said - she’s the one. She was kind enough to send us an example script so we could get a feel for her style and it made us feel like we could envision our own ceremony. Ope was so sweet and flexible, so organized, and so personable. She sent surveys to our family and friends to add a special personalized touch to our ceremony, and common feedback was that everyone who attended (even distant relatives we didn’t know) left feeling they knew who we were as a couple. She thrives under pressure, and I didn’t have to worry about anything the day of knowing she was there to run the show. She also worked collaboratively with our venue staff to make sure everything went smoothly, and handled any probing questions from our parents to make sure our ceremony was really what we envisioned. Ope is a celebrator of love, and she embodies it in everything she does and the way she carries herself at every wedding - you will be in the best hands!!
PS - she also is super helpful with the wedding license process and even double checked on us to make sure we didn’t forget to go sign and get our copy so we were ready for the day of!
We found Ope from looking at vendor lists on the Knot. We knew from the consultation meeting that she was the one who HAD to be there to officiate our wedding. Ope came to the meeting with an energy that eased all of our worries. She also got to know us as a couple and really made sure that we would be a good fit. Ope took the time to interview us and important people in our lives to ensure that she told our love story correctly. Our family and friends kept asking us how we knew Ope outside of here because of how personable she made the ceremony. Ope also has a command of the room and thinks fast on her feet. It was raining during our ceremony (the only part of our wedding day I should add) and we were outside. Ope was able to quickly keep the integrity of our ceremony while also making sure we weren’t stuck out in the rain. Ope truly goes above and beyond for all of her couples. We would HIGHLY recommend Ope.
Ope was incredible to work with. Prior to the wedding, she sent us each a questionnaire to fill out and asked if there’s family/friends that she could send a questionnaire to as well, and using that she created the most beautiful ceremony complete with our love story. A lot of people in attendance didn’t know the full details of us and Ope’s gift of storytelling left everyone in happy tears. It was such a special moment to get to share with the people closest to us. Ope brought the excitement leading up to our day, reaching out to express her excitement as well! Afterwards, she kept in contact with us to let us know the signed marriage license was sent and even did the work of reaching out to the state to find out more details on when we should receive the certificate back. Ope made our day so special and memorable and we absolutely recommend her officiant services to anyone getting married!

From the start, Ope was incredible, making our wedding day truly special. So many of our guests raved about the ceremony, saying how unique and personal it felt, even for those who already knew our story. The way Ope brought our story to life for us and our guests was beautiful and heartfelt, leaving a lasting impression on everyone. It even gave us something to look forward to after all that planning, knowing we had an element of surprise to hear the pov from people in our lives was special. We’re excited to hang up our vows at home because they mean so much to us!!
Ope was a rock throughout the entire process, especially on the big day. She thought of every detail and made sure everything went smoothly, which let us relax and fully enjoy our special day without any stress.

Right from the start we knew working with Ope was a great choice! She kept us organized and on track and was very prompt to reply to any of our concerns. We did a super simple elopement in the home of my grandfather and we kept it very short and sweet but it was Ope who went above and beyond and added so many special touches. We couldn't recommend her more!

Ope was absolutely amazing! We had such a great time with her as our wedding officiant this past weekend. Even our venue coordinator couldn’t stop gushing about how amazing she was. She wrote such a beautiful story about us and had the audience tearing up. She was truly so supportive and gave us reassurance the whole way through. The ceremony went so seamless as she had been so thorough during the rehearsal. Our wedding party loved her as well. We couldn’t recommend her enough. Hiring Ope to be our officiant was the second best decision we made (aside from agreeing to get married in the first place)! From our initial consultation to the final pronouncement, Ope's warmth and professionalism shined through in everything she does. She exceeded our expectations in every way and somehow found a way to make the best day of our lives *even better*
What do we most appreciate about Ope?
1. She went above and beyond to get to know us, how we met, what we love most about each other, etc., ensuring that our ceremony was deeply personal and reflective of our unique love story. She even asked us if we could connect her with a few close friends who could express some of their favorite things about us; it was really fun to see how she wove our friends’ wonderful words into her ceremony.
2. She is so warm and welcoming with every single person! We were late arriving to our rehearsal and by the time we got there, we found her inside chatting with the groom’s grandma like they were the best of friends.
3. She’s got charisma! Both of our families commented on how moving and memorable the ceremony was.
Overall, Ope is not content to do the bare minimum – she will give it her all (and then some!) to make sure your ceremony is incredible. Her presence added an extra layer of magic to the day, making it even more special than we could have imagined. Thank you, Ope, for making our day perfect!
I can't say enough about working with Ope to officiate our wedding! She was wonderful to work with and took the time to learn about us to make our ceremony personal. Everyone commented on what a lovely service it was, how great Ope was, and how personalized our ceremony was. She is a wonderful person and we enjoyed working with her and getting to know her!! Ope was a wonderful officiant for our wedding! She paid attention to every detail, and weaved the elements of our love story into the ceremony beautifully. I can not say enough amazing things about Ope, she truly is incredible. I could not have asked for a better officiant. She is there for you the entire process and is so accommodating. Opey was the officiant at a wedding I attended last February. She was professional, timely and assisted the bride every step of the way. The ceremony was the most heartfelt that I have ever attended. It was apparent that Opey designed the ceremony around the couple. I will being having her this spring at my own wedding.
My husband and I were married in February 2022. Opeyemi was a perfect officiant! Thank goodness for her support. We really had no idea how to plan for our wedding ceremony and she provided great templates and ideas to get us started. Our wedding ceremony was happy and joyful, just as we had hoped.
