Meg is hands-down incredible! I absolutely love our wedding photos! Meg captured intimate moments and gorgeous details, and I am so grateful to have stunning photos of our wedding ...
day and rehearsal dinner for years to come. I recommend Meg highly!
Meg is truly an amazing photographer and person! From the first time I exchanged emails with Meg, I knew that we would have a wonderful experience. Meg is personable, funny, kind, ...
and made us both feel at ease behind the camera. She ensured our wedding day went off without a hitch, keeping us on schedule and always knowing when we needed a laugh! We are absolutely in love with our wedding photos and will cherish all the amazing memories Meg managed to capture from our day. I cannot say enough great things about working with Meg!! We are lucky enough to have made the choice to have Meg as our photographer and now have her as a friend!
Meg was wonderful to work with for our engagement and wedding photography! From the first time we met, I felt like I was talking with a good friend, making me feel comfortable. She...
made the photography process easy, and her work is also incredible! She created so many beautiful moments to capture during our special day. I'm so happy that we chose Meg as our photographer.
Seeking a magic-maker? Look no further!
Working with Meg for our wedding photography was an easy choice. I had been stalking her social media for years as she mastered her craft,...
and those "good good" moments that are her trademark? Yeah, they reeled me in!
I actually reached out to Meg to start asking questions about her covering our wedding, before I even popped the question to my now-husband. (Yep, we're not your traditional duo). I was so relieved to confirm that she could cover our wedding in Chicago - where we live - and stopped my photographer search the minute she confirmed our date was free on her calendar!
From the very first message, Meg was always prompt to reply to my endless questions, put me at ease about my worries, and was truly excited to help me with considerations for shoot locations and opportunities for our day. She was also very reassuring about being able to capture us both authentically and flatteringly, which was a big worry/fear of mine being a plus-size bride!
I think Meg was even more excited than us (at first) that we were planning a brewery inspired wedding, too. I loved sharing all of our details and ideas with someone who was so vividly imagining the greatness of our day - it gave us confidence and ease in our many planning stages. And when the day came, we had total unwavering faith in her ability to make magic with us and for us!
Looking back, whoa! Meg knocked it out of the park! She was perfect for us; she beautifully captured the little in-between moments and the big wedding day moments, and everything was relaxed and easy! Our pictures were authentic, romantic, perfectly-us, and loved by all!!
Weddings are expensive and there are many investments to be made in creating your perfect day - invest wisely. Meg's talent is priceless!
Meg was an awesome photographer to work with and is so very talented. Every picture I have seen so far captures the moment so beautifully. You can tell she loves her job which make...
s the experience that much better. One of the things I loved most about her was how relaxed and easy-going she is. We were running pretty behind in the beginning of the day, but she wasn't worried or stressed at all which means I wasn't stressed. She's also honest which is an important quality to have as a photographer. Nobody is perfect and if something weird is going on with a piece of hair or something she will get the problem solved! If you want timeless, in the moment wedding pictures, hire Meg. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Meg was so great to work with! She brought so much enthusiasm and fun to every meeting we had with her, and kept it up throughout our wedding day. She made us and our entire weddin...
g party feel so at ease, and my husband (shockingly) even said that taking pictures before the ceremony was his favorite part of the day. We were thrilled with the photos she captured and can't wait to put them up in our apartment. Overall, we would absolutely recommend Meg to any other Detroit couples planning their wedding.
Meg and her assistants recently photographed our wedding ceremony and reception September 2016 and I wanted to take time to share our great experience, as we were blown away with t...
he images and memories she captured on our wedding day.
On our wedding day, Meg and her assistants made my husband and I feel very comfortable. She made me feel confident and relaxed on more than one occasion. She knows the shots she needs to get and was able to get more than enough images when we only had a short window of time to get them done. The groomsmen loved her male assistant, Hugh, and had a great time with him. He was with me right before walking down the isle and AGAIN, made me feel so comfortable! Aside from the great photos we have, this is the biggest reason we are happy we had Meg as our photographer!
We are overly grateful for the photographs she captured!!! In fact, it was difficult to choose the images we wanted printed for our home because we had many options. The details in our photos were perfect (dress, veil, flowers, etc) and we love her trendy, modern, and vibrant style in the photos. She did not miss a moment, either. Another touch I loved, after the wedding she sends you a beautiful package with a very nice flash drive full of your images. I used this flash drive for our honeymoon photos, too. So now they are all in one place.
Simply put, Meg is super talented and cares a lot about her clients. She does a phenomenal job and you will walk away with all of your memories captured and trendy photos to show off!
All said and done, we were quite unhappy working with Meg. She was late the day of our wedding and tried to leave the reception early. She says she brings an assistant that does no...
t actually photograph to make sure the shot looks right and everything for the bride and groom is adjusted; my dress had settled in unflattering lines during photos, my husband's tie was crooked, and the assistant did absolutely nothing. She was well over two weeks late beyond the long deadline in returning our photos and then rushed to get them finished, all the while spelling our last name wrong on every single file and missing simple things that should have been photoshopped without my review. I sent them back to be edited, however, that was also a struggle.
Most of the issues that came up probably would have been things we were willing to deal with if the pricing were lower. Photography was one of the more important aspects to us on our wedding day; we trusted that if we invested so much we would be getting high quality in return and that just wasn't the case. Looking back on our wedding photos now brings back feelings of frustration and regret. I originally wasn't going to leave a review; I thought it was me being too picky about expectations. Over a year later, I've personally heard of two more brides that have had negative experiences with Meg and felt it was important to share. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
I utilized Meg Darket Photography for my wedding and engagement photos. My experience with Meg and her team was superb. Meg is professional, thorough and a pleasure to be around....
She is incredibly timely to responding to emails and was flexible to accept my payment in installments, which I greatly appreciated. My engagement photos were perfect and I'm looking forward to seeing my wedding photography soon. Thanks Meg for everything!!
Meg is a truly talented photographer. She is professional and knowledgable, but also relaxed and fun. I felt totally at ease with Meg, and rightfully so, because all of our picture...
s (engagement and wedding) are breathtaking. Meg loves all things weddings and has so much experience, she gave me lots of advice and guidance whenever I needed it (she is very responsive to emails). You can't go wrong with Meg, she is THE BEST and is my #1 wedding recommendation! I can't give her enough praise.
Amazing talent! I had a July wedding in the country and Meg did an outstanding job! Our engagement pictures were just as wonderful! You will not be sorry if you choose Meg to photo...
graph your wedding day! She is kind, easy going, flexible, and to say her talent is amazing is an understatement. I am so thankful and feel very blessed to have had her capture my wedding day! I highly recommend her for your wedding day! You will not be sorry! Her work is breathtaking!
Meg is the BEST! I literally cannot say enough nice things about her or her work. I am recommending Meg to everyone I know for engagement, wedding, family, baby, etc. picturs.

She's super fun to work with, which was very important to us since we had a big and boisterous wedding party. We felt like we clicked from our very first meeting with her - also important when you're spending 8+ hours with someone on the most important day of your life. Meg, Brit (2nd shooter) and her assistant (I can't remember her name, but she was sweet as can be) rocked the pictures, dealt with our cast of characters and left us with perfect pictures.
I can't wait to work with Meg again - we have found our "go-to family photographer."
Choosing a wedding photographer was definitely a priority when it came to planning my wedding. I could not be happier with my decision to go with Meg! Meg took our engagement and...
wedding photos, and my husband and I absolutely love them! Meg also created our guest book (using our engagement photos) as well as our wedding album. Meg is so easy to work with and you can tell that she is truly passionate about what she does. We had to reschedule our engagement session so many times due to rain, but Meg was so patient and we finally got the perfect day! On the day of the wedding, Meg was calm and made everyone feel at ease. She captured our entire day perfectly. If you are looking for an easy going photographer that delivers timeless, beautiful images, go with Meg!!
Meg was awesome! Starting with the intial meeting, communication throughout the planning process, to the wedding day, and finally the finished pictures; everything was perfection....
Our wedding was in northern MI but we knew we wanted to pick a photographer from the Metro Detroit area where we lived, since we wanted the same photographer to do the engagement pictures and wedding pictures. We were not disappointed at all! We are absolutely thrilled with the moments that were captured and are so happy to have these images to show how perfect our wedding day was :) I highly recommend Meg to shoot your wedding! And bonus, she's so fun to be around! It makes the whole picture taking thing so much more fun and relaxed. You definitely want to click with your wedding photographer and we did :)
Amazing, truly gorgeous photos and exceptional quality of service.
Meg is such a great photographer, she doesn't make you feel uncomfortable or like you're missing the party. She did our engagement photos as well as our wedding shots.
Meg has a fun personality and very responsive on responding to emails. Did an amazing job on our engagement photos and I'm excited to see our wedding photos soon.
Our photos turned out beautifully! I suggest Meg to any bride in the Detroit area. She's easy to work with, relaxed, and listens to what you want.
Meg is awesome. Ok, so I'm alittle biased because I know her from high school....but she truly is amazing.
It's weird to be followed around by someone taking pictures of you,...
and telling you to basically make-out with your new husband/wife in-front of them, but she's so funny and loves LOVE that it's OK and not awkward.
She responds to emails ASAP. She's been to so many weddings and has seen so many things that she can help you with planning aspects too if you were to have questions.
She's also AWESOME at graphic design. She did our Save the Dates, invitations (all the stuff that went with those too), our wedding programs and paper pieces that went along with our favors.
She has many different package options to choose from and you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Pick her!!
Meg was seriously such an amazing photographer. She made both the engagement session and wedding so personal and we were so happy with the way everything turned out!!
Meg Darket did an AMAZING job! She was very creative, was very professional, and made everyone feel so comfortable. Brides, I would strongly recommend her! You can't beat her price...
s, and she will get you your photographs to you so quickly. I was shocked to see photos before we left for our honeymoon, and then get the rest a couple of weeks later.
