My husband and I live in Southern California and wanted to hire a local photographer who was familiar with our wedding venue (The Pines Resort, Bass Lake). We found Megan and her team on The Knot and knew after reading her reviews, seeing her website, and stalking her work on instagram we had to set up an appointment to talk with her! After our first conversation we felt like Megan knew exactly what we were envisioning for our big day and trusted that she could get the job done. Megan already had a wedding scheduled for the same day but we loved everything about her and the company that we decided to book with her partner Stephanie, and we are SO ECSTATIC that we did! Stephanie and her team were a dream on the day of. I really couldn't have asked for a better team of photographers. She captured our personalities in every photo and there's literally not one photo I don't like. I told Stephanie in our meeting before the big day that my husband and I would need some guidance and help with poses since we're both a little awkward in front of the camera, and we both had such a fun time and felt extremely comfortable (not awkward at all!) Not only did Stephanie and her team do a wonderful job with the photos, they were super friendly and fun to be around. Upon arriving to the house I was getting ready at they told me "If you need anything at any point in the evening you let us know and we will get it for you." I'm so glad they did because I forgot my garter at the house I got ready at. I asked Cassie if she could go to the house and grab it for me and she said "Absolutely, I'm happy to", drove over to the house and brought it back. Now that is going above and beyond!! From the initial consultation, the check ins and helpful tips before the wedding, to the personal notecards and experience day of, you will feel like a million bucks! If you're looking for a wedding photographer, look no more. You've found the one!

Megan and her team are seriously amazing at what they do. They helped us feel confident and comfortable on our wedding day. It was nice to communicate with her beforehand to get to know each other and make sure we got the family photos we can wanted. Not to mention the quality of photos is just amazing—you can tell Megan has lots of experience photographing weddings. The lighting and editing style is so timeless, we can’t wait to hang up some large prints in our new home! She was very professional from beginning to end. 10/10 would recommend!

We booked Megan for our wedding in September and she was above and beyond anything we ever dreamed of our photographer being! The Megan Helm Photography team was such a special part of our wedding day! They were timely, patient, professional and fun! I truly wanted a "hands off" day - not worrying about details. I trusted Megan, Taylor and Cassy with all photography details. Megan and her team were seamless and intentional. Before the ceremony we encountered an unexpected hiccup. Megan immediately offered comfort and alternative options to keep the timeline moving. In the end, everything worked out -- we even captured some amazing sunset photos! Megan is AMAZING! She helped capture our special day with stunning photos. From the beginning, my husband and I knew we were in good hands with Megan. During our engagement session, we quickly built a rapport and we felt comfortable each step of the way. Our engagement photos were STUNNING so I knew that our wedding photos would be amazing. Before the wedding, Megan checked-in with us several times. She helped us organize a timeline and made very helpful suggestions. On our wedding day, I was an hour and a half late to our first look photos so I had a feeling we were not going to get our bridal and family portraits in before the ceremony. But Megan eased my anxiety and captured our group photos before the ceremony. She easily navigated my family and friends and got great shots. Throughout the night, Megan was helping me bustle my dress and made sure my hair and accessories were “on point” while still capturing amazing shots! WE LOVED our experience with Megan, and highly recommend her to part of your special day, you will not be disappointed.

Recently, I was not only able to see Megan in action during a wedding, but I got to see the beautiful finished product of my dear friends wedding. Megan has a natural ability to capture the most special moments of a couples wedding day. Her eye for lighting and small details makes all the difference. It was so great to see how happy my friends were with their wedding photos and what a great experience they had working with Megan!

I have second shot with Megan, and she has done many sessions for us! I literally don’t know where to begin, but all I’ve got to say, you are beyond blessed to have Megen to photograph your wedding. She puts so much effort and has so much ambition to get to know her couples. She goes above and beyond to make their day special! She becomes a part of your family! She literally has a glowing smile on that is super contagious makes everyone feel at ease. She invest so much in her education to improve her business. I really don’t know any other photographers that do that! That says a lot.

Megan is absolutely AMAZING! I’ve gotten to work with her a couple of times and she does such awesome job. She really takes the time to listen to what you want and help you capture those visions. She was professional, creative, enthusiastic, and fun. I cried tears of joy when I saw my photos for the first time and realized how well she captured every emotion of my wedding day. It was her first time at our venue but you would never know with the INCREDIBLE photos she captured! She truly loves what she does and it shows in every photo she captures.

Megan is THE BEST! I have been working with her for the past 2 years on weddings, styled shoots and other fun projects. My husband and I had the privilege of having Megan as our wedding photographer in February of 2019. Speaking from a brides prospective, I was quite nervous when searching for this specific vendor because photos tell a story and last a lifetime. I wanted someone who was going to make me feel comfortable in front of the camera and provide quality work. Megan did all those things and then some. During our initial meet and greet, and throughout our entire pre-wedding process Megan was there to help, she offered advice as to what to wear for engagement photos, she answered questions in a timely manner, and made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera. I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer on our wedding day. Megan handled our pushy families with grace, she captured stunning photos throughout the day, she was organized, had the details down, and did it all with a smile!

We attended the wedding of some special friends at the beach. Megan did a fabulous job of capturing the expressions of love, special moments and details of the day as well as the beautiful scenery of the beach. She thought of every detail, and our friends and I are so grateful to have these photos to look back upon to remember this wonderful day.

My fiancé and I really can’t say enough about Megan! I reached out to her pretty last minute, really hoping she could fulfill my lifelong wish for cotton photos... which adds a time crunch issue as we needed to get them before harvest was over. We were probably a photographers worst nightmare, I definitely got a few no’s before Megan said yes. But we’re so thankful that in the end it was Megan that agreed to it. She was more than willing to fit us in, get up earlier than most would ever think about and make the trip out for a sunrise session. Our session was a ton of fun, full of lots of laughs and very easy going. She brought out the best in us. We are so so thankful for her and absolutely love our photos. Working with Megan is awesome! I was the hair and makeup artist for a wedding Megan shot at the beautiful La Cuesta Ranch and had a wonderful experience working alongside Megan. The getting ready process with a big bridal party can get hectic but Megan was able to organize the bride tribe, get the shots and get them out the door in a timely manner. The photos turned out amazing with a quick turnaround as well. I highly recommend Megan as your wedding photographer!

Wow, how can we even describe in words the amazing service we received from Megan and her team! We booked Megan through a referral to do our engagement shoot, wedding photography and videography. It was so nice to find someone we trusted to complete all three services for a bundled price. From the start we were so impressed with her professionalism (she under promised OVER delivered!), speedy delivery of quality, edited images and her overall enthusiasm for our event. She really made us feel as though our special day was one of a kind. Day of the wedding, she was just as prompt and professional as she had been throughout the process before hand, planning and communicating. She made our bridal party feel at ease and was extremely easy for our planner and coordinator to contact and deal with. Megan listened to what we wanted and changed her plan to match what we needed- she was instinctual and knew what we needed before we did! Our friends, family and participating vendors were more than impressed with Megan and her team at Megan Helm Photography. In the end she delivered our images in a timely manner (much sooner than we could have hoped) and we were blown away by the quality in her shooting. The photos captured the look and feel of the day we had worked so hard to put together. We would get married again just to have her capture us again!!

My husband and I got married on the hottest day of the year! Literally! I was terrified that you would definitely be able to tell in our photos. I don’t know how Megan did it, but our pictures came out amazing! She was so patient and professional the entire time. We couldn’t thank her enough

I do not even know where to start. Right from the beginning Megan was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. Even though we never met her until the big day, I felt that we were already in good hands. On the big day, meeting Megan felt like we were meeting an old friend. She made us feel safe and excited. She would tease us by showing us some of the pictures she would take and it was jaw dropping what she would show us. The final product of the pictures were stunning! If I had to say exactly what the pictures were like I would say breathtakingly fairylike. A dream come true. She truly captures the essence of the moment. Very organic and yet simplistic. Megan was our photographer for our wedding in June 2017 and we could not have asked for a better person. She was so sweet and professional, and got shots from throughout the day that I never would have even dreamed of getting. She was also more then willing to do a "trash the dress" shoot with my husband and I in the ocean, which is going above and beyond for what she needed to do. My husband and I planned our wedding in 3 months, we wanted nothing fancy just love. We found Megan through The Knot. She was quick with responding, and spend a couple nights talking on the phone with us to get know our personalities and style. The day of the wedding she walked into my bedroom filled with my bridesmaids and friends and immediately took control. It felt like working with a friend. She was so easy to talk with, and made the day and pictures go so smoothly. At the reception she took photos of all the events and captured wonderful memories of the all night dance party. She was very flexible and willing two stay an extra hour to get more picture. Absolutely relived the stress of the photography for our wedding. We can’t wait to work with her on the next journey of our life when we add kids to our family.

Yall!! Megan was amazing!! She got some insanely captivating shots.. My husband and I were super not into the idea of traditional wedding photos and Megan captured every moment beautifully. Honestly she went out of her way to make sure we got the shots we wanted in the style we wanted... She went on a hike with us for our engagement shoot and just went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.. We found her here on the Knot and sooo happy we did! Yall check her out.. Wow!! What a great experience!! Megan is very real, down to earth, fun and flexible to work with! She really goes out of her way to make sure you get what you want! This girl drove through an extreme snow storm to photograph our wedding and gave us some breathtaking memories we will cherish forever!!

My fiance and I won an instagram giveaway for an in home photo session and had a great experience with Megan. We had never done anything like it before, so naturally we were a little bit nervous and didnt know what to expect. She made us feel so comfortable and completley led us through every shot, which for us was reassuring. She knows what she is doing and we loved everything about our pictures. I can't say enough great things about Megan! I actually found her on The Knot six weeks before our wedding! My Husband and I decided to turn out baby shower into a surprise wedding (in six weeks-crazy I know) and Megan and her second assist, Aleson, turned out to be the biggest blessings! Megan turned into a jack of all trades and practically became my Maid of Honor (since we didn't have a bridal party) and literally did above and beyond whatever was needed! She was accommodating and adaptable (it was pouring the days and morning leading up to our shower/wedding) and she wore rain boots and got right down in the dirt for the best pictures, literally! Needless to say, we LOVE the pictures Megan took and the time she spent editing all the pictures is evident. We are looking forward to using Megan again in the future and we highly recommend utilizing her talents and kindness for your special day!
