We just got our wedding photos back and they are so fun and perfect! My husband and I had our 5 month old included in our day which made things a little more hectic than planned and Megan was so great and flexible and got so many wonderful photos! She's so easy to work with, so kind, and really captures the moment! We love love loved working with her!

We hired Megan to shoot our engagement photos last year and our wedding photos this spring. I truly could not recommend a better photographer! She's a great choice if you're looking for someone who can make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. We wanted photos that were beautiful but not overly produced (i.e., represented the day as we and our guests actually saw it), and Megan was the perfect choice for that. She is kind and highly communicative, and is great at capturing both posed and candid moments. If I could go back in time, I would choose her again in a heartbeat!

Megan was absolutely wonderful to work with! We hired her for our Leap Day Elopement in DC and she was so communicative and thorough in advance, going over logistics and expectations with us, that I didn't have to give any thought to photography basically from the first phone call after we booked her. I knew it was taken care of. She was ready from the get-go with plenty of fun prompts, location suggestions, a backup plan in case it rained, etc. She captured the ceremony beautifully, and when we ended up with extra time, she was super flexible and creative in finding us other places around DC to take photos that ended up being some of my favorites! She never stopped taking photos so we got every and all events from the day. If you're looking to capture a lot of candids and whimsy, I highly recommend Megan!

Megan is an amazing photographer and we are so glad we found and booked her! She made the process so easy, and was an excellent communicator. As soon as we booked her she sent over other recommended wedding vendors lists as well as tips and Pinterest boards of what to wear to our engagement shoot. Megan always answered any email question quickly and spent time before our wedding on the phone with us to go through some questions and helped plan our whole timeline of the day. Megan was quick in delivering photos, we got the sneak peaks in one week and the full gallery in 6 weeks. The pictures themselves came out stunning. She doesn’t over edit her photos, she keeps them bright and true to life which is one of the main reasons we went with her. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera so she was able to capture all of the special little moments between us and we will treasure them forever.

Megan is beyond amazing through every step of the process, providing examples, advice, and any resources you could possibly need to ensure you are prepared for your big day! When we had rain on our big day, Megan knew exactly how to adapt to the weather to ensure we got the perfect shots. She also went out of her way to make us feel comfortable through every step of the process, so she made it easy and fun for us. Our photos are absolutely stunning and we could not be happier or more thankful that Megan was our photographer. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

I cannot recommend Megan enough. In fact, I already recommended her to one of my very best friends, who also hired her for her wedding. Photography was one of our very top priorities, so we interviewed five photographers. All of them were really very good but it was clear that Megan was the right choice for us. We wanted someone whose style was very natural, genuine, fun and good at candids. The conventional advice of “choose a photographer you get along with, because you spend your whole wedding day with them” is so, so right. We loved her from our first call and that instinct was so correct. We had a couple timeline hiccups despite the hours and hours I spent making the timeline and communicating it to everyone. But, Megan had helped us build extra time into the timeline, so everything worked out perfectly. We got even more photos than promised and we got them earlier than promised. Also, I had an uncle filming our first dance and she worked around it and gave us beautiful photos. Really, I cannot say enough good things about Megan. If her photography style resonates with you—you won’t regret hiring her. We will be cherishing the hundreds of beautiful perfect photos she gave us for the rest of our lives.

Megan was the best! She was super flexible and went with the flow. We had to make a few changes to the schedule as we were running behind and Megan was more than understanding and helped make sure we still got everything we wanted. We all love how the pictures turned out and they came so fast! Megan was upbeat and very easy to talk to. She did this all while being at the end of her pregnancy too! She was also one of the few photographers we found that offered a physical wedding album. Overall couldn’t recommend her enough!

For our wedding in particular, Megan was super helpful from the planning stage all the way to the end of the night. We were quite familiar with our venue location (Old Town Alexandria, VA), but Megan has such an impressive understanding of the area that she led us to so many beautiful photo locations that we wouldn’t have thought of. During the wedding, she caught every important moment as well as candids without us even knowing she was there! Even when we asked Megan to take a lot of group family photos at the very end of the night, she stayed with us to make sure we got everything. She is so kind and easy to work with, extremely responsive, and also helped de-stress us during the wedding night when things were falling a little behind schedule. We really enjoyed having Megan as our photographer. She was punctual, friendly, patient and took some amazing photos of our wedding ceremony at the DC War Memorial. She gave us lots of great suggestions about the background and poses for photos - suggestions that we greatly appreciated. She was very responsive since the day we first reached out to her and even helped us figure out some of the details for our big day. Megan did our engagement photos and they are simply stunning! We choose her due to her experience shooting with dogs, as we really wanted our dog to be a big part of our shoot. She was super communicative before the shoot (helped SO MUCH when trying to figure out a location and an outfit), was great during the shoot directing us and making us feel comfortable, and got our photos to us timely. I'm absolutely in love with the photos, and cannot recommend Megan enough!

We had an amazing experience with Megan as our wedding photographer. Since our first meeting she has always been friendly, communicative, and professional. On our wedding day she made sure we were able to catch all of the shots we had discussed earlier, which wasn’t easy with such a large wedding party and a forecast for rain! When we were looking for a wedding photographer, we noticed that Megan's photos were full of color, happiness, and detail. We were drawn to her portfolio because her photos did not have that overly bright look that you sometimes see in other wedding photos that make them look less natural. We couldn't have been happier with our choice! Megan's photos were exactly what we wanted. They are bright, colorful, and you can feel the joy and love leaping off of them. Megan is a phenomenal wedding photographer and arguably one of the best in the DC metro area! My husband and I initially hired Megan for our engagement shoot in January 2020 at Shenandoah Park. She was a tremendous help guiding us through the process, both in location and in the poses themselves. We ended the experience in great spirits and with even greater pictures. In fact, we clicked so much with Megan that we hired her to photograph our actual wedding in New Hampshire, which took place December 2021. We loved working with Megan because she makes the experience feel fun, relaxed and natural. She captured our true essence - between loving, fun, goofy and serious. She also has a fantastic eye for truly eye-catching shots, as you'll see below. Last but not least, Megan's personality is a breath of fresh air. Personable, professional and kind. Megan is an AMAZING photographer! She’s so fun, honest, and truly knows what she’s doing. She was very fast at responding when I’d email her and went with the flow for everything. Megan was an absolutely amazing photographer. We originally had our engagement photo shoot with her back in June 2019 and the photos were amazing. She was so flexible and communicative with us when we had to postpone due to COVID. She got in touch with us early and we were able to keep her as our photographer for our wedding a year later. In the lead up to the wedding she was so helpful and made sure we had everything planned to get all the shots we wanted. Day of she was so great, as was the second shooter Bethany. Everyone had an amazing time and were laughing with Megan and Bethany which made smiling for lots of photos that much easier. We got some sneak peeks a couple of days after our wedding that were breathtaking and are absolutely amazed by all the final photos. So many of our guests are so impressed by the photos. Deciding to hire Megan was one of the absolute best decisions we made for our wedding day, and we can't recommend her enough! Our pictures turned out absolutely beautiful, and are so colorful and cheerful and captured our day perfectly. She also did a phenomenal job with our engagement photos, capturing some stunning shots in Shenandoah at sunset. We initially found her after looking for a wedding photographer who was also good with dogs since our ceremony was going to prominently feature our best dog of honor, and from our initial conversation we knew she'd be a great match for us. We felt super comfortable working with her, and her tips and advice resulted in some absolutely fantastic pictures (and some super adorable ones of our pup!). We got a great mix of posed and candid shots, and she did such a great job of capturing the fun. She was also extremely communicative and so prepared for anything. The weather on our wedding day was tricky, and when the sun changed to a sudden downpour, she had clear umbrellas ready to go so that we could keep taking pictures! Our pictures are everything and more than I ever could have asked for, and hiring Megan was truly worth every penny!

When COVID forced us to postpone our wedding four months out, I was pretty stressed trying to plan a microwedding on such short notice. We discovered Megan from her blog post about planning a wedding at the DC War Memorial. She was amazing to work with and the day ran so smoothly with her on our team. She was an essential point of contact and helped us plan our entire day's timeline. Her familiarity with the venue helped us ensure we had all the permitting correct and that we had the most ideal timeline. She never tried to pressure us into paying for something we didn't need, she was truly invested in capturing our day the way we imagined. She was incredibly easy to get ahold of before the big day, and when one of my vendors cancelled last minute she went above and beyond by calling some contacts to try to find me a new make-up artist. My new-husband was a little camera shy, but Megan helped him feel super comfortable and it really shows in the photos. I love all our photos so much it has been difficult to choose which to print! Having access to all our digital photos in an online gallery is awesome because we can print as many as we like, and not all photographers offer this. Overall I enthusiastically recommend Megan.

MJ: Oh my goodness, Megan is incredible! I contacted her months before to plan a surprise proposal for my (now) fiancée. She was a huge help with planning the location, finalizing details, getting the timing right, and answering all of my silly questions. She checked in on me all the time to make sure everything was going smoothly with the necessary permits and the preparations for the proposal. And the day of the proposal, because I was out of commission being so nervous and getting my fiancée to the location, she had everything else figured out, taken care of, and ready to go—bringing umbrellas in case of rain and scoping out and saving our spot. Not only is she incredibly experienced, but she's also so genuinely interested in you and your partner and wants to help make your day as special as possible. Megan Rei was the perfect photographer who made our engagement proposal so special. From beginning to end, Megan was a joy to work with. I contacted Megan through her website, and we had a great phone call that week to start planning. Megan was very flexible with the plans I had in mind, and she had really, really helpful tips about location, timing, and logistics for my surprise proposal. Megan was super responsive over email, was great about my changing dates in the month prior to the event, and we had a great call to finalize last details a few days before the event. On the day of, Megan's approach could not have been better. She arrived well in advance and had a great hiding place during the surprise proposal! During my fiance's and my proposals to each other, Megan took beautiful photos of us without us even knowing she was there, letting us truly enjoy the moment. At the same time she had really great ideas, after the proposals were over, about how to pose and create gorgeous shots. Megan's photos were crisp, beautifully framed, full of color, and had a variety of wide and close-up shots which we really appreciated. We even received a few photos from Megan the day after, which we loved! We received all the photos just a couple weeks later and we could not be happier. Megan is a truly talented photographer, super responsive, has great ideas to make any shoot a success, and her pricing is reasonable and transparent. We are already looking forward to doing a dog photoshoot with Megan next and hopefully working together on our wedding! Working with Megan at our small wedding was great. It was the two of us, our dog, and two guests at a venue with lots of beautiful spaces. She took the time to explore the venue before our wedding to find the best photo spots, and she had so many creative shots and poses for us. After an extensive search for an engagement photographer in the DC area, I came across Megan's website and loved all the past photos of engagements and weddings she had taken. It really helped that she also happened to be a dog photographer since we have 2 dogs of our own and I really wanted to include them in the proposal. Megan was also really helpful with the planning process with important tips that I wouldn't have thought of myself. She also helped me decide on the perfect location saving me a ton of time. Her photos turned out exceptional and you can really tell the emotions we're feeling from her photos. Even our dogs look really cute in the photos which is surprising since they weren't sitting still at all. We had such a positive experience with Megan Rei!! Not only was she super accommodating with us during wedding planning, but she consistently went above and beyond to support us throughout the pandemic. From sending cookies on our original wedding date, to picking up the phone to discuss options on rescheduling, to handling my tears and anxiety with grace ... I am so glad we booked Megan!! On our actual wedding day, megan and her assistant were super calm and prepared. We ended up having a big rainstorm on our actual wedding day where she was fully prepared with umbrellas and all the protective gear for her equipment. I am amazed at the photos and can’t recommend her enough 😊❤️

After being ghosted by our original photographer and having a real tight date my fiance and I needed our pics taken by, I found Megan and she was super responsive and willing to work with our timeline! It was 30 degrees the day my fiance and I got our pics taken and yes, I was wearing opened toe shoes and a sleeveless dress🥶 Megan still made sure we looked our best and took some AMAZING pictures! She even brought treats for Gia (our pup) and hand warmers for me 🥺 she directed us the entire time and made it feel effortlessly. We had a great time and of course she made us feel safe the entire time by keeping social distance and wearing a mask. 12/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are so happy we found Megan as our wedding photographer. We had a small COVID outdoor wedding in October 2020 and were hoping to find someone with a natural editing style. I found Megan's Instagram (@meganreiphotography) and instantly knew that was who I wanted to use. Luckily, she was available for the date and time we were hoping for. Booking with her was easy, and her responsiveness and communication were excellent. Our photos came back a month after our wedding (promised before 8 weeks), and we absolutely love them. We had an amazing experience with Megan Rei Photography. Due to COVID-19, we had to change dates/ location of our engagement shoot a few times (and ultimately decided to turn it into an elopement shoot) and Megan was incredibly flexible and responsive. Megan helped us through permit procurement processes and also helped us find a new location/ put together contingencies when our original plans fell through. Megan captured all of the shots we wanted and provided guidance to us on how to pose. We did a first look, a small ceremony (just us, our dog, and Megan), took TONS of photos around the venue, popped a bottle of champagne, and cut our cake. Megan was very well prepared and even brought a squeaky toy to help get our dog's attention. Our dog was a bit hyper-active during the session and she was very patient and sweet with him. Megan wore a mask the entire session and was very courteous of COVID-19 safety precautions (she is also a public health expert!). We received a sneak peek of our photos a few days after the shoot, and then our entire portfolio within a month. It was easy for us to download all of our photos (300+) - which is an incredible value - and print them from our preferred shop. We were able to share the portfolio and the awesome blog she wrote about our day with our families. One of the reasons we selected Megan is that her work is timeless - her style is bright and natural. We love love love all of our photos and really enjoyed working with her. Megan was a great photographer to work with- not only did she take great engagement photos of us with our dog that we will cherish forever but she was incredibly easy to work with and helped give us some inspiration on places to take the photos and outfits and was really easy to reschedule with once the pandemic hit!

Working with Megan Rei Photography was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding and engagement photos! Not only was she approachable and eager to create an atmosphere for the photos that brought out mine and my husband’s personalities, but she was willing to go outside her comfort zone to do so! We first took Megan to Seneca Rocks for a wild adventure engagement shoot where she strapped into one of our climbing harnesses to lean out and catch photos of us climbing up the rocks together. I’m only sad I didn’t have a puppy with us as Megan is great at capturing shoots of couples with their dogs! Then at the wedding, she captured photos easily that revealed who we are without over-posing or over-exposing. At the wedding she was able to capture photos from every angle and hiding spot and she never had to pull us away from our dinner, dancing, or other activities. For the few posed photos we did ask her to do, she made sure we were in high spirits, laughing, and natural which resulted in perfect photos of us and our families. Her delivered photos have minimal or no adjustments and I think that speaks highly of her ability to capture the perfect shot with the perfect lighting without the aid of digital adjusting. 10/10 would recommend, she is well worth the cost for lasting images.

Working with Megan was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We cannot begin to express our gratitude for Megan and her expert photography! From the moment we scrolled through her website, we fell in love with her vibrant and colorful work and knew we had found our wedding photographer. Our shared love for dogs only added to the natural compatibility. Megan's organized and easy-going nature kept us relaxed throughout the planning process and wedding. We were constantly laughing and enjoying ourselves in Megan's company. She took stunning engagement photos, captured us in our element, and left no detail unattended, even bringing treats and a ball for the dog, who was a star feature of the photo shoot. On our wedding day, Megan and her assistant photographer were simply fantastic and seamlessly moved through the event. We felt excited and relaxed when Megan arrived because of her high level of professionalism throughout the engagement session and pre-wedding phone calls. We found Megan on instagram because she specializes in dog/wedding photography and words can't describe how ecstactic we are to know and have worked with her! My husband and I DO NOT like taking photos and Megan made the whole process so simple, easy, and relaxing. She helped us wrangle the National Park Service AND our dog for our engagement photos, and then the day of our wedding was a great leader, and a trooper in the cold. We haven't seen our wedding photos yet, but don't really need to in order to give Megan 5 stars. We can't reccomend her enough!

When my now husband and I started wedding planning, we knew quickly that it could be a stressful time for us both. I was actually lucky enough to already know Megan since her and I had played soccer throughout the years together. Before even deciding that Megan would be our photographer, she sent me information on wedding vendors and provided key recommendations based on her experience in being in the wedding business. She did not push herself on us but left the door open if we wanted to take it in that direction. I admire her because that proves what a genuine person she is as I felt she really wanted to be helpful. This was a big decision on why we decided to not even “shop around” for a photographer. After meeting with Megan to discuss our potential arrangement, my fiancé was so impressed with how she carried herself and her insight into everything wedding related. It didn’t hurt that Megan is an avid dog-lover and we just happened to see her many photos from engagements/wedding sessions that highlight not only the love between two people but ALSO the love they have for their dog. We absolutely loved working with Megan! From our engagement photos to our wedding photos – she captured everything perfectly! We especially enjoyed her guidance during not only the prep meetings but during each component of our big day. My fiancé and I initially thought we would feel awkward but, Megan allowed for us to be ourselves and guide us through to capture our amazing photos. Megan took great care of us throughout the entire process and her knowledge of everything wedding-related helped us to plan our magical day. My fiance and I could not be happier with choosing Megan Rei as our photographer for our engagement photos! When I first reached out Megan and I discussed several ideas I had for photos and gave me great input for what would work. We decided to take our pictures at the wharf because we live close to there and love spending time down there. Megan was fantastic about scheduling are was checking the weather everyday the week of for us. She even caught the fact that there was going to be a big event at the wharf on our scheduled day, that my fiance and I were not aware of, and we rescheduled for another day to avoid the crowds in our pictures. Our pictures turned out better than I could have imagined. We and our families LOVE them. They are bright, crisp, clear, clean, modern and timeless all at the same time. Megan was very easy going and made us feel very comfortable which you can see in the photos, we all had a great time! I would 100% recommend working with Megan for any of your wedding photos.
