Mekina is absolutely amazing at what she does!! She was recommended to me by a friend and from our first phone call, I knew she was who I wanted to photograph our wedding. She did our engagement photos in May 2023, and we could not believe how much time she spent with us even for engagement photos! We did another phone call about a week before the wedding to go over must have photos and things that were important to us, which I thought was really helpful. Our wedding day was seamless, from getting ready all the way to the reception, she captured it all! Emily was super sweet and helpful, too. Even organizing family for group photos was a breeze! She got our sneak peeks to us in 2 days (and when I say sneak peeks I mean 100s of photos). She is an incredible person, and is incredible at what she does! I could not recommend her enough.

Mekina was absolutely incredible to work with! From our first phone conversation with her to receiving our final Wedding Gallery, the care that she showed was amazing. She truly listened and helped guide us through the entire wedding process. During our engagement shoot, Mekina helped us to feel comfortable in front of the camera and it showed in the pictures that we received. She truly captured our personalities in a way that looked natural. We couldn’t stop looking at the pictures! Leading up to our wedding, Mekina met with us to go over all of the details to make sure that she and her team would capture everything that we wanted. On our Wedding Day, Mekina and her team did everything they could to make us, our families, and our bridal party feel comfortable in front of the camera. Everything felt so natural and they all truly showed that they cared every second of the day. Mekina had just had her daughter 10 days before our wedding and she showed up in more ways that we could ever imagine! We received our sneak peeks just 2 days after our wedding! The pictures were incredible and there was a large selection just from the sneak peaks. Since receiving our full wedding gallery we have not been able to stop looking at the pictures. Every single one perfectly captured our wedding day and it has been incredible being able to relive our wedding day through the pictures. Mekina goes above and beyond for her clients. I am so thankful for her thoughtfulness, care and understanding through our wedding process. She made us feel more like friends than clients and I am forever grateful for that!

If you're looking for a wedding photographer, look no further!! Mekina was absolutely amazing to work with in all regards! First of all she was extremely timely- we got our engagement sneak peeks in 24 hours and the full gallery within 3 days, and we got our wedding sneak peeks in 24 hours and our full collection in just 2 weeks! Her turnaround time was absolutely incredible. Secondly, she was such a joy to work with - she has amazing energy, is so friendly, understood the vision we were going for with our photos, gave us great direction on how to pose and helped corral our large bridal party accordingly for photos. We also had a rainy wedding day and she was great at figuring out our time gaps of no rain to take absolutely stunning photos outside with no umbrellas. Her photos were so amazing no one believed that it was raining! Our family and bridal party all raved about how great and friendly Mekina was and my bridemaids' only complaint was that there were far too many good photos to choose from for their Instagram posts. I would recommend Mekina for any photos you need taken but if you want your wedding photos to be ones you can look at time and time again for a lifetime, there's no one better!

We truly had the BEST experience with Mekina as our wedding photographer!! I haven't had a lot of professional pictures taken in my life, so I had no idea how essential the style and personality of the photographer would be in shaping the experience and the quality of the pictures. Mekina has such a warm, sunny disposition that put us at ease the whole day, and that sense of ease and fun totally came through in the photos. In taking our formal portraits, she directed us in ways that the good pictures just followed naturally, and she has SUCH a good eye for finding great shots. She was attuned to environmental details, body positions, even the way my hair was falling in a given moment that could affect the shot, and she spoke up so we could correct these things so we got the best pictures possible. She was even able to get our dog's attention long enough to sit for some pictures, which are some of our favorites of the day. I really appreciated the process leading up to the day as well - Mekina took a real interest in getting to know us as a couple and the style of photos that we wanted, and the communication re: logistics of the day was seamless. She was very receptive to our requests (even some that were quite specific) re: the types of photos we wanted. The "sneak peek" gallery that we got immediately after the wedding blew us away with regards to both the scope and quality of the pictures, and the full gallery that we got later again exceeded our expectations. She and her assistant truly captured every moment of the day and then some, and the pictures are stunning. Overall, Mekina is a highly skilled photographer - her technical talent; her upbeat, calming, warm presence; and her ability to effectively guide the shots all added up to the best wedding pictures we could have imagined. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. I am certain that if you hire her for your wedding you will be equally blown away.

Mekina is an incredibly talented photographer who is able to capture all of the moments that you want documented without things looking staged. She also is so nice and easy to work with, and if trust me, your photographer is with you a lot on your wedding day, its nice to be around one that is like a friend. My family and guests are beyond happy with the photos- Mekina truly captured EVERYTHING from our wedding day in the most beautiful way possible- her colors and focus are just perfect. I can't wait to use all of our great photos and would 100% use her services again.

Mekina was an absolute PLEASURE to work with! From our first conversation to our last, Mekina showed nothing but positivity, patience, and warmth. During our engagement shoot, she made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera and we had such a blast walking around Dumbo with her. We got married on a cold & rainy day in May, but Mekina came prepared with umbrellas and captured our day so beautifully! We were even able to run out during cocktail hour to take some pictures outside when it stopped raining - and I am so grateful that we did. She also made the whole bridal party feel so comfortable and it was so much fun spending the whole day with her. I am SO in love with my engagement and wedding photos! Mekina was the first vendor we booked for our wedding as photography was so important to us and we are SO glad we did. I can't say enough great things about Mekina! Truly one of the best decisions I made was going with her as our photographer. She photographed our Hindu Ceremony and our American Ceremony. In less than 48 hours I had the most beautiful sneak peak waiting for me. On the days of our weddings, she couldn't have been more kind, patient, and prepared. So, so many people complimented me on my pictures. All of my bridesmaids could not stop gushing about her!! She truly is the best of the best.

I do not even know where to begin!!! Booking Mekina for our wedding this summer was the best decision I made. Hiring Mekina Saylor Weddings was the best decision we could have possibly made for our big wedding weekend! Our wedding took place in New Orleans, so my photographer hunt began there. After scouring websites and galleries, I found myself unimpressed with the options that both fit our “vibe” and price point. Having seen Mekina’s work on Instagram and loving the bright/airy look of her photos, I decided to reach out even though she was based in the NYC/New Jersey area. We met for lunch and we discussed what the hope was for our wedding pictures, Mekina shared how she could meet our desires, and she also shared samples of her work. Rather than feeling like I was meeting with someone to discuss important business, I honestly felt like I was having lunch with an old friend. Following lunch, I went home and signed Mekina’s contract. Even though we had about 16 months to go before the wedding, Mekina stayed in touch and was eager to hear about any updates to wedding plans. We also did our engagement pictures with Mekina in Brooklyn and it was a PERFECT way for my now husband and I to practice taking pictures considering we are not exactly the most photogenic people. After delivering our engagement pictures, Mekina reached out to see if there were “poses” that I loved from the engagement pictures and anything that I didn’t like. We were able to determine that I HATE pictures of my right side so when the wedding came, Mekina knew to reposition me so that pictures weren’t taken on my right side. About a month before the wedding, Mekina sent a survey to find out all of the finalized plans for the wedding as well as to ask if there were any must-have pictures. Mekina came down to New Orleans a couple days before the wedding and mapped out our different event locations. She also mapped out locations to take pictures the day of. Her preparedness truly amazed me! When Mekina arrived to the bridal suite the day of the wedding, it was as if another close friend had arrived to get ready. She is literally the most sociable, easy-going person EVER and really has a way of putting you at ease. I cannot tell you how important this is considering we probably spent more time with Mekina on our wedding day than we did with anyone else! Mekina made EVERYONE around feel just as comfortable which I think really added to the authenticity of every picture she took. Even today, my family still talks about Mekina as if she is an old friend and they weren’t even the ones who spent all their time with her on our wedding day! Within a couple weeks after the wedding, Mekina delivered our “sneaks” and within a few months, we received our full online gallery. Honestly, I wept SO MANY tears of joy upon looking at our pictures. I knew Mekina took amazing pictures, but to see your own pictures of the most exciting, happy day of your life exceed even your own expectations was something I was not prepared for. I now tell EVERYONE planning a wedding that if they are still looking for a photographer, they NEED to reach out to Mekina! It is clear how much she LOVES her job and how passionate she is about photographing weddings. I said it at the beginning of this review and I’ll say it again, hiring Mekina was the absolute BEST decision we made for our wedding!

Booking Mekina was hands down one of the best choices we made for our wedding. She is incredible at what she does and is one of the sweetest people you will meet. Her and her team were soo easy to work with and we’re so helpful the entire day. They even kept our young flower girls happy and smiling by playing with them and keeping them entertained. After our ceremony Mekina had suggested to stop and take pictures at a different location nearby before the reception. These pictures came out AMAZING and MAGICAL. The setting was beautiful and I would’ve never thought to go there if it wasn’t for her. The day after our wedding we received our sneak photos and all we can say is wow! She captured so many special and beautiful moments from our day. One picture is better than the next, and we are so lucky to have these memories to look back on. We cannot thank you enough Mekina and team!!!

FANTASTIC!! Mekina was a dream to work with! She helped capture our proposal and from that day we knew we had to have her photograph our wedding. She stood out in the freezing cold to take our engagement photos in January. She took control on our wedding day to ensure the bridal party was together for pictures and looking the right direction. She gave great direction and was easy to work with. All of the photos so far look amazing, she really knows how to get the best shots everywhere she goes. Mekina was a pleasure to work with and she’s a lot of fun too, we can’t recommend her enough!

Where to even begin with how amazing Mekina is?! I met with Mekina at a coffee shop for a meet-up and to review some of her work and I knew from that second on, we HAD to have her photograph our wedding! Mekina is professional, incredibly talented and so personable. I went home to tell my now husband (fiancé at the time) just how awesome she is! Of course he believed me but he realized for himself when he met her at our engagement shoot. Mekina is an absolute pleasure to work with. She has such a bright vision and captures still and candid moments with excellent lighting. Mekina will give you the photos to look back on and allow your memories to last a lifetime! She makes taking pictures so effortless and fun, even my husband enjoyed every second. Words cannot even begin to describe how happy we are with the quality of photography she provides. Mekina gave us a sneak-peak so quickly after the engagement shoot and the full gallery came shortly after. The full gallery had so many amazing pictures in it, that we started to realize we were “favorite-ing” almost every photo! On the wedding day, she showed up earlier than expected and was certain to capture every shot I asked for and MORE! Mekina and her second shoot not only paid impeccable attention to me and my husband, but also to our parents and family and ensured they got so much coverage of them as well. A few sneaks came about 2 days after our wedding and we are eagerly anticipating her message that the full gallery is ready! Mekina and her team were amazing to work with. From the moment we met her, we knew we wanted her to capture our wedding. Her creativity, genuine disposition, and warm energy were evident from the start. These traits made taking our wedding party and family pictures so enjoyable! Her ability to capture the magic of our ceremony and reception, while also blending into the crowd, is exactly what we wanted in a photographer as well. Our pictures are absolutely beautiful and fun!!! They perfectly told the story of our whole wedding day. In addition, our winter wedding had a morning snow storm. Snow is of course ideal for a winter wedding, but also made me fearful of travel challenges for guests and vendors. Mekina and her team were still punctual, as she had promised, and the snow made for perfect winter wedding photos. We are so thankful to Mekina and her team!!

My husband and I knew the instant we got engaged that we wanted Mekina as our photographer for the big day. Mekina photographed my sisters wedding in 2015 so it was a no brainer when it was our turn to get married. Mekina made every photo session seamless. Matt and I always felt relaxed, excited and trusted her. She is incredible to work with. We just received our full gallery today and O..M..G. We will be reliving the best day of our lives through these pictures. Mekina was an absolute dream to work with! She is not only insanely talented and creative, but she makes everything so effortless and is so easy to work with. She really listens to what you envision for your big day and somehow makes it all come to life beyond what you could imagine. My husband and I felt comfortable since day one after we met/spoke with Mekina and then had our engagement shoot. Our wedding day was so perfect and we really owe a lot of that to her and her assistant Karina. All of our guests loved working with them too! We are in love with our wedding sneak peaks and cannot wait for the entire collection. We wouldn't recommend anyone else to photograph your wedding day! Mekina is the best.

We ultimately did not book Mekina just due to our budget, but cannot say enough wonderful things about how she made me feel like she truly cared about how we are planning our big day and giving us the full run down of what to expect from her. If you are looking for really natural looking photos (none of the cheesy poses or corny overlays) then this is your gal. She made it clear that she would truly be a partner to us throughout the process so she could bring out genuine personality in our photos which was exactly what we were looking for!

Mekina has an eye for weddings, people, and scenery. She is sweet, aware and generous! She is not an “in your face” person, but instead gets the amazing photos as they happen. She sees the details and uses them to enhance the pictures. She will he dancing along on the dance floor to blend in and then just pause to get that amazing shot - Beyond that, she is so patient and calming! She is a joy to be around and it made our wedding day so much fun! The pictures capture our emotion, and our love perfectly.

WOW!! Mekina is unbelievable, and I literally can't stop looking at my wedding photos (seriously, just ask my husband)!! After meeting Mekina while living in NYC and having the chance to be a bridesmaid at a wedding she photographed, I 100% knew I wanted to one day hire her as my wedding photographer. It was the first and easiest decision we made as a couple (no joke and no regrets. we hired her even before we officially booked our venue). She has such an incredible eye, and I was immediately taken by her work. Oh and did I mention she is a DELIGHT to be around? As was her second photographer, Kelly - lucky me! They were both extremely enthusiastic and are incredibly skilled at getting everyone to feel comfortable in front of a camera. The photos are lively, joyful, candid and seriously keep making me smile. I was a bit worried the day of the wedding because of overcast skies and of and on rain, but Mekina and Kelly were always level headed and calm keeping everything running smoothly and on schedule. They even went above and beyond and came a day early to scope out the sites for the wedding/reception as well as document our lobster bake rehearsal dinner; it was so special. Not only that, but I am still blown away by the end of the night firework photos she captured with us lovebirds in the foreground. Mekina is truly talented and I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with her... anddd...she is such a great friend!! Five stars is an understatement. I can't thank you enough Mekina!!!!

I am so happy we found Mekina to capture our special days! First of all - she is a ton of fun...the kind of person you'd want to be friends with - so that made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We were definitely newbies to having our pictures professionally taken - but she new all of the best spots in brooklyn for our engagement photos. Our wedding day was an incredibly cold January day and Mekina was up for anything and everything! We had the BEST time taking pictures throughout the city, being cheered on by passers-by. Thanks to Mekina, we have the greatest collection of wedding photos!

The moment we saw Mekina's photos on Instagram we knew we had to have her be the one to capture our special day. In reaching out to Mekina and meeting to go over the details before choosing her, we felt we would be in great hands with Mekina. We left that meeting having no doubt that Mekina would not only deliver great photos but also make sure that everything was taken care of on our wedding day. Mekina was thoughtful and personal throughout our entire wedding process. During the morning and afternoon prior to the wedding, Mekina and her team added a positive attitude to our wedding party. In a lot of ways, it felt like she was a part of our wedding party! Mekina would definitely fall under the category of fun photographers to have around! About five months prior to our scheduled wedding date we learned that we would need to move the wedding up due to an illness in the family. Mekina was extremely accommodating in making sure she would be available for the new date, which was only 3 weeks from the day we contacted her. We'll always remember that. I cannot say enough amazing things about Mekina!! She captured our wedding day EXACTLY like we had envisioned. The most important thing to us was that our pictures did not turn out "posed". Mekina perfectly captured the day in a way that seemed effortless and candid while capturing all of the important pictures we wanted. More importantly she did it all so quickly so we were able to maximize our time with friends and family. From the first time we met Mekina she felt like a friend, which was huge since you spend most of your wedding day with your photographer. My husband and I are both a bit shy in front of the camera, but Mekina immediately made us feel comfortable. We had a blast taking both our engagement and wedding pictures with her. Every smile she captured was a genuine laugh. Mekina's whole team was amazing! The best part is that Mekina is always accessible and makes herself available to you whether it's in person or through email/text/ facetime, or over the phone. Wedding planning can get really hectic but Mekina made the planning process and wedding day run smoothly. She even provided us with a timeline and schedule for our wedding day! I cannot stop looking at the wedding pictures Mekina took for us. We received so many compliments from family and friends on our pictures. The hardest part will be narrowing down which ones we want to print!

Mekina was absolutely amazing for our wedding on 9/14/2018! She photographed our friends wedding the year before and after seeing their photos, I knew she would be the perfect choice. Starting from our engagement session, Mekina was so accommodating and met us in Brooklyn at 6am to get the most perfect photos on the Brooklyn Bridge before the crowds showed up. She made sure she knew the area and was able to bring us to all of the best spots for gorgeous photos. She even brought her personal beach cruiser bicycle so that we could get some fun shots with it as well. Fast forward to our wedding day, Mekina showed up early and got the job done. I was stressing over people being all over the place, and running late to my first look, but she made sure we got all the photos we wanted. She worked well with our video team and helped keep the day organized (despite a couple curve balls I was thrown during the day). My family & bridal loved her and Kelly (her second shooter), she was even able to get my nephews to behave during our photos!!! Also, one of the most important things is that she’s non-invasive and blends into your party, but yet, she gets the most perfect photos. You don’t want a photographer who is in your face all day, or who is blocking your family/friends view of your ceremony and speeches, Mekina and her team are great at being in the right place, without ruining your guests experience. Mekina is like having a friend with you all day to make your wedding photography dreams come true! I recommend her to every bride I know, and honestly feel like if you don’t book Mekina you’re missing out!

Mekina is THE BEST photographer we could've asked for when it came to our wedding day! Let me start by saying- she knows what she is doing and makes it look easy! She was an absolute pleasure to work with from the minute I met her and we started talking engagement and wedding! My fiancé and I were SO nervous for our engagement shoot (we're not super photogenic) and Mekina totally captured our true personalities, love for each other, and we even had fun during the entire shoot! When it came to wedding day prep- our nerves were gone! Mekina made us so comfortable to be in front of the camera and was honestly like a friend to me the day of while we were all getting ready at my parents house and taking photos. We had a Saturday night wedding and received so many AMAZING 'sneak peaks' nearly two days after our wedding day! Her attention to detail, all things wedding knowledge, and super fun personality really made our wedding day complete!!!

Mekina is truly ONE OF A KIND! She was amazing to work with from start to finish. Chris and I truly feel as though Mekina is one of our good friends. She made us feel so comfortable taking pictures during our engagement shoot and on our wedding day! Taking pictures was painless and easy, and everything flowed! Mekina made sure to capture every detail, and to capture all of the pictures I was hoping for, especially those special moments of my groom seeing me for the first time! She was like a bridal assistant too and helped with getting ready and telling me where to be, and just easing my nerves... my family kept saying how sweet and kind Mekina was, offering to take pictures of everything! The sneak peaks we got back are breath taking and I can’t wait to see the rest!! She truly is so special & I recommend her 100 times over for your wedding day! You will not be disappointed!

We could not have asked for a better photographer! Mekina was incredible! She was super fun and very easy to work with. She made sure to capture all of our must-have photos, in addition to capturing the magical candid moments throughout our special day. Her work is absolutely stunning. She gave us so many sneak peek photos the day after our wedding, which was incredibly fun to immediately share with friends and family. She was extremely helpful in the little moments as well, helping fix my hair or veil, helping with my bustle, giving me a mint before the ceremony, etc. She was extremely prepared, reliable and professional. She also photographed my sister's wedding in June. Our family truly felt as if Mekina was another member of our fam! After getting engaged, I contacted her immeadiately and she was great throughout the entire process leading up to the wedding day. AMAZING! Mekina wasn't just fun and creative, she is absolutely talented too! Mekina is literally the best photographer i've ever seen. She did my friend's wedding and her pictures were gorgeous. Mekina is the BEST! From the first interaction to the last, she was the perfect choice for our wedding. Mekina is AMAZING!!! Her personality is awesome right from the start. She is so easy going and so talented that my wedding day/ pictures were stress free! She found the perfect spots for the photos and my pictures came out breathtaking!!!!!!! I already told my sister and all my friends that they MUST use Mekina or I will not attend the wedding ( totally kidding) maybe not. BUT I highly recommend Mekina. Mekina is amazing! From the start, we loved her work and style that we saw online... then we talked to her on the phone, and loved her positive attitude and energy! These were great qualities to have because when the weather on our wedding day turned into a nor’easter, she didn’t let it stop her creativity and talent behind the camera! Mekina is lovely. She effortlessly takes the most beautiful photos of you that you’ve ever seen. She has the brightest smile and a bubbly personality and everyone in our wedding party loved her. She’s really just as excited about your wedding as you are. Don’t you just love people like that?! I was planning my wedding a bit late in the game, as far as wedding planning goes. Mekina was recommended to me and we scheduled an engagement shoot in the next few days. We used one of her photos as part of our invitations and another for the thank you cards. I can’t believe I almost used the recommended vendor from the venue. The quality and the sheer amount photos you receive of the whole day is overwhelming in the best way possible. I have too many favorites so I just printed all of them for scrapbooking and albums and to send friends. Also I follow Mekina on Instagram and swoon at the beautiful things she’s always posting. If you’re getting married and you like her style just call her- because she is a photography goddess. ❤️

Why is there not an option for 10 stars???? MEKINA is amazing !! to say the least, From start to finish she was a joy to be around. There is nothing more exciting then being around someone who genuinely Loves what they do and seriously is bomb at it. We had our engagement session a few days ago and we didn’t know what to expect, I️ was so nervous, but She makes you feel so comfortable from the first hello. Her work is like Nothing I’ve ever seen! We can’t wait for our wedding in July we already know our pictures will be breathtaking. ❤️❤️❤️
