Melanie is absolutely amazing! She did both our engagement shoot and shot our wedding. She and her second photographer, Sam, were lovely to work with! They took the most incredible pictures of me and my husband and we couldn’t be happier!

Lea and I are finally settled in after our big day and our honeymoon, just getting back to the routine of life while enjoying the married life! While I have spent an immense amount of time trying to put words into how truly special Melanie made our day, there do not seem to be enough that can do just that. Melanie (and her team-Sam!) exceeded our expectations beyond all measures. From the very beginning, Melanie was warm and open, professional yet intimate with her work which is what dragged us in for the long haul. As we were planning a wedding from miles and miles away (Texans planning for a New York wedding), Melanie made the process so easy yet fun. She was always quick to answer any texts and calls, and was also quick to jump on a video call to answer my many, many questions- because of this, she made all wedding-induced anxiety go away. Fast forward to the big day, and I still have tears that immediately take over when looking at those moments- all happy tears, of course. Melanie captured some of the most beautiful photos I could have ever imagined, all while going above and beyond to get the perfect shot. Her creativity made the day fun, generating photos we would have never thought to take, which we now have to look back on forever. From the early morning hours to the very end of the night, she not only captured these moments, but provided such an immense amount of guidance and support throughout the entire day. From helping me with my dress, to reminding me to not forget important items, to making sure I wasn't overheating with a small fan between shots- it may seem small, but it was a memory I will hold forever. If I could redo this day over again, I would, simply to spend another day with Melanie and her team. Melanie is the best photographer I have ever worked with. I booked Melanie 11 months before my wedding, and her communication, planning, and timeliness is the best of any vendor I have ever worked with. We met multiple times 6 months leading up to the wedding, during which she created a robust schedule for the day of the wedding, making sure to coordinate with my other vendors as well. Melanie and her other shooters were the epitome of professionalism, while presenting an aura of calm and joy that everyone in our wedding party and families commented on. Without Melanie, I am positive our pre-ceremony getting ready and photos would not have been as easy-going, fun, and flawless, and I am sure our other vendors agree. Melanie was able to work with any parameters or requests from our bridal party and guests – She captured so many different photo combinations of bridal party and family members (35+ people) and bride and groom photos, and her impeccable time and team management allowed me to have an extra 45 mins to spare to relax before the wedding ceremony began. Melanie also has a fantastic vision, and could work flawlessly with any wedding party size and her photos compliment any skin colors (this was a major issue with past wedding photographers). My husband and I were blown away when we received 40+ “sneak peek” edited photos TWO days after our wedding. Melanie perfectly captured the essence of our day with her beautiful shots and we already cannot wait to see the full album. Melanie was the BEST photographer we could have ever imagined for our wedding day. Working with Melanie was wonderful!! Not only are the photos beautiful, Melanie went above and beyond to make us feel supported and comfortable. We greatly enjoyed getting to know Melanie during our engagement shoot. She helped us structure out timeline over zoom meetings and went with us in person to our venue to plan out our first look location. On the day of our wedding, I felt like I had a friend by my side. I couldn't use enough words to recommend Melanie enough for all of your photography needs. I've know her since I was in college, and I knew then that I would want her to photograph my wedding. As soon as my husband proposed, I reached out. She was beyond detailed in the planning process leading up to our wedding. She was always available for a call to discuss our ideas, as well as help us create a shot list for the day. We never felt like a bother when we asked our questions about what to expect. It was such an effortless process, and once we signed our contract, everything else fell into place. Melanie's photography is beautiful and perfectly captured our special day. As a woman of color, I was very nervous about how my skin color would be depicted through the photos. I opened up to Melanie right away, informing her of my fear. She made sure I felt very comfortable, and even ensured that my skin color would shine in the photos. Upon seeing the end result, that was absolutely the case. I looked magnificent and my skin color radiated. I am so grateful for this experience of working with Melanie for my wedding photography. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!!

My husband and I absolutely loved working with Melanie. From our engagement shoot to our wedding day, Melanie was a calming presence and an absolute pleasure to work with. Going into our engagement shoot, my (now) husband and I were super nervous and feeling self-conscious - we’re not used to being photographed, and weren’t sure what to expect. Melanie immediately put us at ease when we met her and was super understanding - encouraging us throughout the process (eg showing us some of the raw photos in the shoot, which looked amazing!) while also being super receptive to our preferences & understanding of our insecurities (eg there was a piece of hair that I didn’t like that she would help move out of the way if it was showing in photos, she asked me which side of my profile I prefer, etc.) We felt that she had the perfect level of giving us direction (with posing etc.) but also being super receptive to feedback or special asks. On our wedding day, obviously there was a ton of emotions happening and a huge flurry of activity going on - but Melanie was extremely calm and flexible through it all. I cannot state enough what a difference that made throughout craziness from other vendors. My bridesmaids and I were running late to the venue — no problem, she did shots with the groomsmen instead! The weather was iffy, we knew that she had a backup plan in place for indoor photos. She really went above and beyond in preparing; for our detail shots (invite suite, shoes, etc), she wanted some loose flowers & greenery to elevate the look, which the florist typically has on-hand. Just in case they didn’t, Melanie brought her own flowers (in our colors!) and greenery from home so that we would be sure to have that perfect shot. I was really touched by that; she clearly cares so much about her craft and does a truly excellent job. Beyond the beauty of the photos aesthetically, what made us book Melanie was her ability to really capture the emotion of a moment. Pictures of my “first look” with my dad, photos of my husband & I gazing at each other as we walked down the aisle — what she captured was so immersive and so genuine, and I’m so glad those memories were able to be so perfectly encapsulated in our photos. As an added bonus, we got a sneak peek of around 100 photos less than 24 hours after our wedding — talk about dedication!! All this to say, we could not be happier with the photos (which came out absolutely beautifully) or the experience, both of which set Melanie apart. Even my parents, bridesmaids, etc. were commenting on how great Melanie was during the wedding (even before they saw the photos! Which they then gushed over as well) All in all, we could not imagine a better photographer and recommend her highly.

Melanie did my graduation pictures and my parent's 25th Wedding Celebration pictures and they turned out even better than one could imagine. Her attention to detail is something that is incredible. She is willing to work with you and help get every little picture you want! Her patience and kindness are so so helpful during a time of stress or even excitement! She is a great photographer willing to help you in any way she can with your pictures.

Melanie is FABULOUS!! If we were getting married in Boston, I would've absolutely hired her for our wedding. We hired Melanie for engagement pictures in downtown Boston, and Melanie made the experience so much fun! My fiancé and I felt so comfortable with Melanie, and the pictures were BEAUTIFUL. Melanie sent a very large sneak peak approx 48 hours after the photoshoot, and the entire album in 3 weeks. Boston & surrounding friends, I highly recommend using Melanie!!

We cannot speak more highly of Melanie as both a person and a photographer! She and I worked together on a surprise, candid engagement shoot and the result FAR exceeded our expectations. Melanie did a great job of not only helping to coordinate the moment, she went ABOVE AND BEYOND in getting everything in order and making sure it was all set up for the special moment.
