We recently hosted our wedding at the Saybrook Point Resort. We are VERY thankful that Melanie was a part of our wedding day! Melanie brings a calm yet clear sense or organization to both her planning meetings and her shoots. This balance put us and our guests at ease, which is so important when taking photos. It also allowed us to make the most of every minute of our big day. Thanks to Melanie’s organization, we didn’t miss anything or waste any time. Our guests loved her. Many went out of their way to comment on her kindness and good energy. Everyone was very comfortable taking pictures with her behind the camera. And then there’s the photos... they are simply awesome! Melanie and her second shooter, Tom, creatively made the most of the setting of our wedding in their work. When we had our first look on docks near a lighthouse, Melanie and Tom positioned themselves to get many unique angles and beautiful perspectives. They knew the venue very well – directing group portraits both on the docks and in front of unique homes across the street. We also think they managed to capture all 120 of our guests within the album! Melanie not only photographed of our wedding day beautifully; her organization helped make the day itself a wonderful experience for all of our guests. We hope to see Melanie and Tom again at a future event!

Mel and Tom are the absolute BEST. She was such a boss on our wedding day - made sure all our photo needs/wants were taken care of while remaining SO cheerful, kind & professional - even in the pouring rain!!! Nothing stopped this superwoman from delivering the best wedding photos ever. She got to know us as a couple, and captured our uniqueness perfectly. One of the absolute best decisions we made was having her as our photographer. LOVE YA MEL. Her brother Tom was the ultimate hit with our groomsmen and brought the energy (& fab photos) throughout the entire night.

Melanie is the best. I can't decide if I should start my review by gushing about how beautiful our photos are or if I should start it by gushing about how much we loved spending time with her during out wedding and engagement shoot. Our photos are totally breathtaking - I knew our wedding day was beautiful but I didn't totally understand it until I saw how she captured it. I look at them and I feel like we're in a magazine spread. We're so excited to see more as she finishes them. She's also just a really cool person with a gift for making people feel comfortable! The idea of the engagement shoot is a little intimidating (so we're supposed to like... make out in front of this person with a camera?) but she made it so relaxing and fun - all three of us were laughing the whole time and the photos came out beautifully. She and her team (including her wonderful brother Tom!) added so much to the good energy the morning of the wedding. She even helped provide moral support when we realized our dog had chewed up my wedding shoes. Know that if you work with Melanie you are choosing not only a super talented photographer but also a person who can help maintain a fun and relaxed vibe after the bride discovers she suddenly has no shoes. (Note - nobody is mad at the dog, he is a very good boy) She was great at corralling all the family members and wedding party - everyone was genuinely smiling and having fun even though not all family members enjoy being photographed. You'll be so lucky if you get her!

We couldn’t have imagined our wedding being photographed by anyone other than Melanie and her brother Tommy. From the beginning, Melanie went above and beyond with her organization, communication, and desire to make sure the photo style was what we envisioned for our wedding day. Throughout engagement and wedding day photographs - Melanie made you feel at ease. There was absolutely no feeling of “camera shy” as she was cracking jokes and creating a natural comfortable environment. Melanie and Tom worked absolutely effortlessly with all of our vendors - especially our videographer whom they hadn’t previously worked with. It was clear their primary focus was to ensure our special day truly captured “us” as a couple. We were beyond blown away when we received the photos from Melanie. Words truly cannot express how she went above and beyond our wildest expectations - every special moment and detail was captured. Melanie and her brother Tom did the most amazing job photographing our wedding. I cannot express how wonderful Melanie was to work with from the first outreach call, to our engagement photos, to our big day, and beyond. Both my husband and I are camera shy and Melanie made us feel comfortable, confident, and the results were amazing! I truly feel like we can feel the day in the photos. They are so meaningful! Melanie traveled to us in Brooklyn for our engagement photoshoot which made it that much more special, getting to take photos around our own neighborhood. Her thoughtful planning calls made sure we went over every detail not only of what kind of portraits we wanted, but the full day timeline that helped ensure we’d be able to work all the photos in to the day without taking away from everything else we hoped to fit in. Day of Melanie was absolutely INCREDIBLE. She expertly handled all of our family members during portraits, calmed me (the bride) down when emotions started to hit, and helped rework timelines so nothing would be missed when other vendors caused things to go a bit off track. Melanie was also incredibly accommodating to our unique asks that included coverage for a two-ceremony day and additional events. It was so special to have her photograph the entire weekend. All of our family members had glowing reviews for how Melanie ran the portrait sessions and how she blended in seamlessly the rest of the day. And the photos! We are overjoyed with how Melanie captured our wedding events – she somehow captured genuine moments of emotion where everyone looks amazing! We are beyond thrilled with the gift of these captured memories Melanie has given us & would give her a 10 star review if possible!

Mel is hands down the best photographer to work with for your wedding. Not only are her photos AMAZING (take a look at her instagram), but she is so wonderfully helpful in gearing up for your big day. Every phone call was so helpful in creating a time line of our day and calming any nerves we may have had. She even sends some guides on things to do, not to forget, etc for the day of and prior to your wedding. She truly puts you at ease before & after your wedding. Melanie is an absolute gem! When looking for a wedding photographer, I wanted someone who captured meaningful candids throughout our wedding day. I dug deeper into Melanie's work and it's exactly what I was hoping for! It was also important that my husband and I felt comfortable with our photographer because we're not necessarily comfortable posing for photos. During our engagement shoot, Melanie helped us feel completely natural so we knew the wedding day would be a breeze. On the wedding day, Melanie shot with her brother, Tommy, as her assistant and he was amazing as well! Based on our engagement shoot and sneak peeks from the wedding, both Melanie and Tommy are absolute talents in their field. I can't wait to work with them for all our future family photo shoots!

I had the pleasure of working with her for a client's wedding this past summer at one of my favorite venues and the day went so smoothly. She has a great way of connecting with her clients, making them feel comfortable and respecting their space & wishes on the wedding day - allowing them every chance to enjoy themselves to the fullest on their special day! Melanie was so fantastic to work with. She made us feel comfortable instantly and is a joy to work with. She made sure we had enough time for the photos we wanted by planning a timeline in advance. Her work is STUNNING. The photos turned out organic and gorgeous. My mom said it perfectly: “she captured the wedding exactly as I remember it in my mind” and seeing the photos later was like reliving the wedding. She is an artist and we feel extremely lucky that she chose to capture our day.

Mel was the best decision we made for our wedding, hands down. From the moment we met her we knew she was the perfect fit. She traveled almost 3 hours for our engagement session so we could do it at one of our favorite places, even our dog loved her! The wedding was very behind schedule but Mel made sure we all stayed on track and still was able to capture such special moments. She made everyone feel so comfortable and was basically a part of our family at the end of the day. Mel's brother Tommy, and second shooter was just as incredible and worked so hard all day long. The guys absolutely loved hanging out with him in the morning and my friends even got little mini photoshoots during cocktail hour with him. They truly make such a good team! When we got our photos back, we were so in awe of how many little moments they captured that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Every single part of the day was beyond perfect and we are so grateful to have these memories for the rest of our lives.

Melanie is amazing! She met with us several times to really get to know us and make sure she knew exactly what we wanted out of our pictures. The engagement shoot that was included was so much fun! She knew exactly how to work with us and our families to get the most natural and authentic photos. She comes up with a lot of funny games to get people to laugh and capture natural emotions in pictures, without it feeling awkward or cheesy at all. It was like working with a friend, she is so much fun! She also has really strong organizational skills both for the timeline of the day, and for herding many people throughout the day which can be difficult!! She captured the important moments and the emotions of the day perfectly and we can’t thank her enough and would recommend her 1000%!

My husband and I always say that hiring Mel was the best decision we could have made in our wedding planning process! She is the most talented, kind and fun human being! Her work is absolutely incredible and she takes such care in engaging with her clients to make sure they get exactly what they want from their wedding photos. She managed through a pandemic postponement with us and was always such a great support as we navigated through all of that. Can't say how glad I chose Melanie to work with for my wedding! Not only was she incredibly understanding with COVID rescheduling and making sure she was able to accommodate our new date before taking new clients, she was there to ask any questions and problem solve along the way. Melanie went above and beyond by scheduling phone calls to help us talk out details and the flow of the big day including timelines and logistics. She arrived early, was extremely professional, and also so much fun to have around! Friends and family all pointed out how organized, helpful, and sweet she was. Melanie is AMAZING!!! She truly captured every moment of our wedding as perfectly as I remember it being. She and her brother were so much fun the day of - it didn’t even feel like we were posing for pictures we were having such a good time. After postponing our wedding Melanie was nothing but supportive and easy to work with every step of the way. To me my wedding was my fairy tale come true and Melanie gave me the best photos to remember my happily ever after.

Melanie is the most magical gift to the world. Her photography portfolio speaks for itself. She has exquisite attention to detail and creates beautiful stories with her work. But who she is behind the camera is truly extraordinary. She goes above and beyond to make her “subjects” feel comfortable and confident, is communicative and detail oriented, and gets the job done seamlessly. We had a massive bridal party of 20 people plus our family and she was able to wrangle all of us and keep us on track, on time, all while having a ton of fun. I cannot recommend Melanie enough. I originally reached out to melanie about a year ago after finding out that our original photographer wasn’t available for our postponed wedding. However, I’m so happy that things ended up working out how they did and that she was ultimately the one to photograph our day!! Melanie was amazing to work with and I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for someone professional, organized, easy going and honestly willing to do whatever to make sure your day goes exactly as planned. Melanie stayed in contact with us early on in the planning process, scheduling multiple phone calls up until the week of the wedding to ensure that everything was planned accordingly. This was great for someone like me who isn’t the best at organization. Melanie came up with our entire timeline for the day of the wedding which I was also super thankful for! Our wedding day was cold and rainy but you would have no idea from looking at any of the pictures. Melanie was able to come up with multiple location options at the venue for pictures despite the weather. All of the pictures from our sneak peek came out amazing!! Our friends and family couldn’t stop talking about how amazing and efficient she was. All in all, hiring Melanie as our photographer was a great decision and I can’t recommend her enough!!!

After postponing our wedding a couple of times due to Covid, my fiancé and I decided to do an elopement instead. When browsing for photographers, I immediately fell in love with Melanie's soft, romantic style and command of natural lighting. Going into our initial call, I had no idea what I wanted as I was tired of being disappointed by cancelled plans! However, Melanie soon changed all that. Melanie is thoughtful, professional, experienced, and creative. She helped me organize my scattered vision into an actual plan. Melanie recommended the perfect location for us at the city hall, where we could rent an hour for portraits for a very affordable price. This was beyond perfect as our special day ended up being really cold ~30 degrees. During each call, Melanie made an effort to get to know us as a couple. On the day of the elopement, it felt as if we were spending time with a friend. This was especially comforting for us as none of our family was able to join us physically. Melanie was also amazing at directing us for each shot. Our final gallery far exceeded my expectations! She captured moments that I didn't even realize we had. Her enthusiasm and passion for capturing special moments was so evident during our elopement as she ended up spending much more time with us than planned. I absolutely recommend Melanie for all who are looking for not only a skillful photographer to capture their love story, but also an invaluable ally whose creativity and experience will make wedding planning so much less stressful!

12/10 AMAZING!! My husband and I stumbled upon Melanie Ruth Photography while searching for wedding photographers and we immediately fell in love with her work! Her editing style is light and airy and everyone in her photos seemed to genuinely be living in the moment versus posing for a picture. This was exactly the style we were looking for so we reached out. From day 1, Melanie has been beyond helpful, thoughtful, professional and organized in her approach which was so, so appreciated. We had no idea what we were doing and she often anticipated any questions we would have. She sent out preparation packets, walked through several different timeline options and answered any and all questions or concerns. We got engaged in 2018, thinking a 2-year engagement would be enough time to prepare for a wedding... then came along a global pandemic (joke was on us!). At this point, we have worked with her on several occasions and every time was such a delight: An engagement session, a rehearsal dinner, an intimate “Covid wedding” and next, a Summer 2021 Wedding - version 2.0. Aside from her obvious talent, Melanie is one of the sweetest, most genuine people we have gotten to know in the industry and we are extremely excited for another year with with her! Melanie was the best person we worked with for our wedding! Our plans were constantly changing due to the pandemic but she was flexible and always so supportive and responsive. Where do I even start!? Melanie was an absolute pleasure to work with and would recommend her to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, engaging and attentive photographer! After postponing our larger celebration with our friends and family, we approached Melanie after a referral from friends, to help capture our intimate elopement ceremony. From our first call with her, Melanie made us feel at ease as she spent time understanding our relationship journey and what moments we were hoping to capture for the friends and family that physically wouldn't be able to be present with us. On the day of our elopement, Melanie was so easy to work with, gave fantastic direction and suggestions, and went above and beyond in capturing organic moments that my fiancé and I will always look back on and cherish. She spent time understanding the meaning behind the traditions we had chosen to highlight in our ceremony, which resulted in beautiful photos we are beyond happy with!  Melanie is truly one-of-a kind and we are looking forward to working with her again in the future!

Melanie was absolutely amazing. Besides being an excellent photographer with an eye for natural details, my partner and I found her confidence and excitement about our farm elopement idea and willingness to shoot a non-traditional wedding to be a huge relief. Having been together for 10 + years, we really didn't want to do a wedding at all but wanted the photos and memories and Melanie was able to run with that half baked vision and turn it into an amazing experience for us. We couldn't have done it without her because she thought of things we never would have thought of-- and in less than 30 days, and during a pandemic no less. I especially love that Melanie was able to capture the surrounding landscape and the general vibe of the day, weather, details in addition to the photos of us. Couldn't have asked for anything more!!

Melanie combines professionalism, kindness, and talent into a single package. We don’t even know if this review will fully capture the amount of love we have for her, but we will try! From the first moment my husband and I met Melanie, she was what my twin sister dubbed our “hype girl” because she was just as excited for this wedding as we were!! She was involved in each step of the wedding almost like a wedding planner! We were extremely fortunate to have her during the pandemic, she gave me comfort on the phone as I was crying and cheered me up! She always seemed to have a plan for everything. Not only did Melanie capture the beauty of our wedding, she also did a “covid postponement "shoot, Something both my husband and I recommend. She’ll make you feel at ease. Melanie's work is about capturing love and moments. She has such a skill at it! During the shoot, she would do these exercises that simply made you remember why you were getting married in the first place. I swear I fell more in love with my husband after that shoot. She truly goes above and beyond what a photographer is. One of my favorite memories of my wedding is melanin driving me to my wedding venue in the air conditioning that she had on full blast! She was at my beck and call during the entire night, which I didn’t expect nor need and was so grateful for. I didn’t have a bridal party, but I counted my vendors as my bridesmaids. Melanie also came up with a detailed schedule for our wedding! A timeline and it kept us all on track!! We had a wish list of photos and Mel captured them and exceeded our wildest dreams. At the last minute we decided to have a wedding videographer (do it, highly recommend) And she wrote vendors and reached out to friends to make it happen. I cannot recommend her enough!! Trying to plan and pull off a wedding in 2020 is no small feat, but not only was she up for the challenge, she exceeded all expectations. She was professional, kept everyone on task, but most importantly, kept me and my husband feeling comfortable and having fun. Stop reading this review and hire Mel immediately! My husband and I are like ok, lets have a baby so we can hang out with Melanie again! haha

Like many other 2020 brides, my fiancé and I postponed our large wedding, and decided to have an intimate ceremony on our original date this year. I knew I wanted a photographer to capture this day, and I had previously seen Melanie’s work on Instagram. I loved that her photos captured the in-between moments without being overly edited; they looked like artwork to me. I thought it was the perfect style for our small ceremony and reception. I messaged her about 2 months before our date, and the first time we spoke on the phone I knew I made the right choice. Melanie is so down to earth, but at the same time you can tell she is detail oriented. She provided detailed timelines, and she even met us at our venue a week before our wedding to walk through areas of the property (And suggested I practice walking down the aisle as we weren’t doing a formal rehearsal). She offered ideas like a champagne toast immediately following the ceremony, or even a confetti toss. I didn’t really how exhausted and mentally drained I was from postponing our original wedding that I didn’t even think of all of these small yet meaningful details which really made a difference. My family appreciated her organizational skills, and the little ques she gave us in order to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Overall, Melanie is hard working, detail oriented, creative, artistic, and laid back. She’s the perfect compliment to a scatter brained and tired bride, and I am so happy we got to work with her.

Melanie was the absolute best decision we made during our planning process! We didn't realize at the time how much a wedding photographer dictates your timeline and how integral she would be in planning and the day of. We are so thankful we had Melanie carefully listening to what we envisioned, taking the time to get to know us, and executing each step of the way. Melanie traveled to us in NYC for our engagement shoot, she was in frequent contact with us leading up to the wedding and the day itself, she and her second shooter Maddie did a fantastic job. From the start Melanie felt like a friend, she made me feel beyond comfortable before I even met her. From her initial phone call, she was curious, informative and personal. When our engagement photo plans got ruined by the freezing rain she came right over to our house for an intimate engagement session, we were worried it wouldn't be as special having the picturesque scenery but these photos came out insane. That right there was a testament to how great of a photographer she is, she turned our grey living room into a modern, chic, photoshoot...I was stunned! When it came to the wedding she was my one vendor who was constantly in contact with me, going so far to ask me if I needed help with things that were not even related to her job. She is so kind hearted and talented, I wish I could clone her. Our wedding photos came out so stunning I am just in awe, they have been featured on multiple sites including Hayley Paige which was the designer of my bridesmaids dresses. Melanie was such a huge part of our day and she truly was along side us the entire night, making us comfortable when we were nervous or making us laugh in a tense situation. Not only will she produce the most amazing pictures you could ever want, she was truly a friend along side us in during that magical time.

Melanie has been amazing through our whole wedding experience! My fiance was not excited for engagement pictures, but after working with Melanie he couldn't wait for pictures at our wedding. She is calm, professional and knows how to capture true emotion, without making anything looked staged. Her second shooter at our wedding was amazing as well!! We just received our wedding pictures and they are betting than we ever imagined. Our pictures capture every moment and emotion from the day and I can’t wait to look at them for years to come. When you go to a wedding people generally don’t leave saying “wow your photographer is amazing” but they do when you have Melanie. She is truly the best person to work with, she makes you feel so comfortable that you forget you have a camera pointed at you. It was a very sunny day and she came early to the hotel to scout out places we could take pictures there in the shade in addition to taking them at the venue where there wasn’t any Shade at all. I would have never even thought to ask her to do that! I highly recommend her as a photographer and as an added bonus she is an amazing person as well.

Melanie blew us away right from the start. She was the best decision we made regarding our wedding. Starting at the engagement photos, she was willing to travel to a location that meant a lot to my husband and I. Our engagement photos were the first time we met Melanie in person, and she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She had us tell jokes to each other to loosen up, and she wanted to hear all about our special love story. Throughout the entire session we completely forgot there was a camera point right at us. The pictures came out breathtaking. Months before the wedding Melanie reached out with a wedding day information sheet. This insulted timing of events, “must-get” portraits of friends/ family, and important details/people at the wedding that she should spend extra attention on. Melanie worked with us to make our dream wedding a reality. She helped to plain every detail regarding timeline and photos that needed to be taken. She made us feel so much less stressed going into the big day. On the day of, Melanie came with SO much energy. She was so friendly to everyone and made us feel so special. Everything that we had spent weeks planning with Melanie went off without a hitch. She again made us feel so natural in front of the camera. She captured every special moment from the day. Melanie was the most organized vendor that we had at our wedding, she wanted to make sure that our day was everything we hoped for and more. A couple days after our wedding we received some sneak peak photographs and we were brought to tears. Melanie’s photos really do speak a thousand words. Our wedding photographs are something that we will always have to look back on our special day, and I would not have wanted any else besides Melanie to capture these moments for us.

To try to capture the level of appreciation we have for Melanie's work is incredibly hard to do in one post. Your wedding day is one of the best days of your life, and we knew it would go by in the blink of an eye -- so choosing the right photographer for us was so important because we wanted to be able to look back on the celebration. To say that Melanie did a excellent job is an understatement. She checks off all the boxes you'd want for a photographer -- professional, collaborative, artistic, and experienced -- but she goes far above and beyond those things. Her thoughtfulness plus the level of detail and care she took to make sure she captured our day perfectly is what sets her apart, and she did just that: her pictures are truly perfect and unique. Plus, it's a pleasure to work with Melanie, and she makes planning the details around the photography for the wedding easy and stress free -- which means A LOT given all the logistics around the event. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Melanie was so amazing to work with for our engagement photos and wedding photos. Not only are her pictures so beautiful, but she has the best personality. We reached out to a few photographers to get quotes for our wedding but once we met with Melanie at Colony Pizza, we know she was the one and we discontinued our search. Melanie was phenomenal to work with; super friendly, insanely organized, and she really just made everything so easy, from our original meeting all the way through receiving our photo gallery. Posing for pictures isn't the most comfortable/natural thing but Melanie made us feel super comfortable in a very organic, non-forced way. She actually made it fun. We've received tons of compliments and positive feedback from everyone that has seen our pictures. My cousins shot video at our wedding and were extremely impressed with Melanie's work. So much so that they said they wished they had hired her for their wedding. Our bridal party and family also really enjoyed working with Melanie on our big day. We would HIGHLY recommend Melanie to anyone looking for a photographer for their wedding, or any reason for that matter!

Mel was unbelievable. She captured my day PERFECTLY. She was professional and takes great pride in her work- which shows in the final product. I truly don’t think we could have picked a better photographer to capture our wedding! From the very start Melanie was so great to work with! She was so organized and professional. She met with us several times before the day to make sure everything went perfectly .. which it did! She made everyone feel so comfortable while shooting and honestly made it so much fun! All my bridesmaids couldn’t stop talking about how fun she was :-) our pictures came out even better than I could have imagined, we love them all! I highly recommend Melanie, we had a great experience!

Melanie was such a joy to work with both heading up to our big day and throughout our wedding day. She knew exactly what to do when, and her attention to detail is marvelous - my husband and I trusted her completely and as a result were able to enjoy the day! She had it covered! I can't begin to explain what a good choice it was to work with Melanie!!!!!!!! She is SO incredibly talented, kind, and professional. From beginning to end, it was an excellent experience. We found selecting a wedding photographer a little overwhelming - but within minutes of speaking to Melanie we knew our search was over. You'll see from her website and social media that her photos are gorgeous, and I'd give her 5-stars on her photos alone, but it is really Melanie's personality that makes her such an extra-special photographer. My husband and I don't love being photographed, and didn't want to do an engagement shoot. Melanie (gently) advised that we at least do an engagement shoot to get to know each other, and we were so glad we did. She instantly made us feel at ease - we went from awkward to comfortable in minutes. That of course made the wedding day go so much more smoothly, and less stressful given that we were already comfortable with Melanie and knew she was going to get great shots (of course we loved the engagement photos). She is one of those people that is so likable it's kind of crazy - everyone loved her; all our family and bridal party kept commenting about how great she was, and my husband's father even posted a picture of her on Facebook, singing her praises. She is really good at prompting moments that capture the emotion of the day - we have so many amazing photos with genuine laughter, happy tears, meaningful looks - you can really feel the memories when you look at them. You end up sharing a lot of intimate and exceptionally special moments with your wedding photographer, which was something we hadn't really considered before the big day. We both couldn't imagine having shared that with anyone other than Melanie. If she's free on your wedding date, do not hesitate to hire her!

There are few words that can fully capture how incredible Melanie is. From the first day we met, our engagement pictures and our wedding day Mel went above and beyond any expectations we could have had. She was professional, accommodating to all of our needs and didn't miss a beat throughout the entire process. We received numerous compliments from family and friends in regards to how impressed they were with her. All of our pictures have been amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer!

Admittedly, it’s taken me awhile to write this review, primarily because I cannot put into words how wonderful it was to work with Melanie. Hiring a photographer for such a momentous day can be scary and intimidating. You will not go wrong with Melanie. From our first email exchange, through the day of the wedding, she has been nothing but communicative and super responsive, accommodating, thoughtful, sweet, and professional. Not only is she a super-skilled photographer, she’s down-to-earth and knows how to lighten a mood and make what can seemingly be an intimidating or awkward thing so much fun and so memorable! I cannot thank her (and her second shooter for the day, Morgan Sessions- lover her too!) enough for capturing our big day and for taking such beautiful engagement photos. To boot, her turnaround time is incredibly fast. For perspective, we were married on 8/3 and we’ve had our professionally edited pictures/files in hand since 8/19. At the end of the day, Melanie’s pictures speak for themselves. We love all of our pictures, as do our families and friends. She’s hands-down amazing! We’d hire her again in a heartbeat and we hope to work with her again someday!

I am more than thrilled that I chose Melanie to be our photographer for our wedding day. I interviewed a lot of professionals, but nobody gave me the confidence and excitement like Melanie did! She was awesome throughout the entire wedding process. She is so organized and makes everything easy for you! She has created super helpful Guides with tips, tricks, preferred vendors etc so that you can always refer back to the important things (since there will be a lot going on). I LOVED that Melanie uses Google Drive/docs to share information and keep things updated. I never felt stressed about the pictures because Melanie was always on top of things: organizing calls to discuss my vision, to talk about family dynamics and how to tackle taking pictures of so many family members and the wedding time line! Aside from her amazing, upbeat personality and attention to detail, Melanie is a fantastic photographer!! Like beyond amazing! I was ecstatic when I saw our engagement pictures and didn’t have a worry at all for the wedding day. Melanie knows how to make you feel comfortable while taking pictures and it really does show in the photos. A true gem and pleasure to work with!

Absolutely amazing photographer- we were impressed from the moment we met her. Not only did Melanie incorporate our crazy request to have our cat be in our engagement pictures, she also traveled to another state for the actual event, and made sure our day was perfect. Melanie was a key ingredient to the perfect wedding! We loved every photo that she took of us. It was so hard to even choose the photos we would frame in our house, there were so many good ones! Nothing short of a 5 star rating for Melanie! From the start I knew I was going to be picky with my Photographer and their ability to capture not only the traditional shots but the candid, in the moment, trendy detailed shots. Melanie hits the nail on the head in all categories. Every photo looks like it could come right out of a magazine. Clean , crisp & bright photos. Melanie herself is so sweet and caring. The photos taken for the Ruggiero/Nagy wedding were wonderful! So many special moments were captured and convey the professionalism, skill and artistry of the photographers within each and every photo. They were very responsive to some spontaneous requests and stayed for the entire event making sure the whole day was documented with hundreds of photos from which to choose.
