Meleah was absolutely amazing! She did a wonderful job doing makeup and hair for me and my bridal party. She took the time to understand what everyone wanted and made it happen! I also did a trial with her and completely changed what I wanted the day of my wedding. She rolled with my last minute changes and I couldn’t be happier with the way my hair and makeup turned out! She is a complete professional and was easy to work with. Highly recommend Meleah!

We absolutely loved every moment of working with Meleah! She is a true professional and expert at what she does. Extremely responsive, and so detailed and knowledgeable! I really appreciated the checklist and documents she had ready for everyone getting their hair and makeup done - it saved me so much time and she also communicated directly with each person about their needs and how they should prep! I was SO nervous about finding someone to work on my hair. It’s extremely curly and thick and every time I’ve had my hair done for a formal event, I always end up redoing it myself, so I don’t trust just anyone to do my hair, especially because I wanted to wear my natural curls for the wedding. I felt immediately comfortable with Meleah. I truly felt like she listened and asked several questions to understand my hair type and its tendencies and my vision for my hairstyle. I cried after our trial because I loved it so much and she made it look gorgeous. I’ve never had an experience like that before with my hair. The day of the wedding it was flawless and I didn’t even give it a second thought the entire day! Her makeup style is so amazing too! I have lots of freckles I didn’t want to cover and wanted to aim for a lighter and natural foundation and she totally nailed it! 15/10 on communication, she asked questions and checked in every step of the way to make sure I was fully satisfied. My husband and I also did dance lessons with her which were so worth it! I’ve had experience with dancing, but my husband hadn’t and was very nervous. Everyone at the wedding was so excited to see him dancing so smoothly and he felt so confident! Meleah is an excellent teacher! She does it all! As far as pricing, she is really reasonable too. She is an absolute delight to work with and I’m so glad she was a part of our day!

Meleah is the best!!! I worked with Meleah for both hair/makeup and dance lessons. From the first makeup/hair trial, I felt at ease with Meleah and she really listened to what I wanted while giving some suggestions. On my wedding day, she and her team dealt with a lot of anxious moms and aunts with grace and did an amazing job on everyone's hair and makeup. My hair lasted all night - even after 3 hours of dancing - and my makeup was perfect. I truly felt like a princess on my wedding day and it was in large part to my hair and makeup! My husband and I also decided to do some first dance lessons in order to feel more comfortable having the spotlight on us and the lessons were so much fun. Meleah did an amazing job teaching us a dance in just 5 lessons and everyone was blown away by our moves. We hired Meleah for bridal hair and makeup. She was easy to work with and she was able to do my hair well. When it came to makeup, things didn't go well. I had to remove all makeup, and my daughter and granddaughter helped me to fix the absolute mess she made. I was in tears, and we requested she leave. I give her kudos in doing the right thing, leaving and she was also honest in not taking the money that was left for her.

Meleah's talent and endless care ensured that I didn't just look like a princess, but felt like one too. I had my initial hair and makeup trial with Meleah in December, three months before the wedding. When we met, my hair was dry and difficult to manage, and I truly didn't recall a time in which I had enjoyed wearing in naturally curly. Within that three month period, Meleah dedicated herself to finding products, techniques, and cuts to help me love and manage my hair - entirely at no additional cost to her! She accompanied me to a hair appointment conducted by another stylist and stayed for the full 2 hours to make sure that it was something we were both happy with at the end. On the day of the wedding, the hair and makeup appointment was held at our hotel block, and it was so easy, fun, and seamless. Throughout the day, everyone commented on how beautiful my hair and makeup looked. She took something that I was so nervous about leading up to the wedding and made it such a glowing point. Meleah is a person of many talents. She was incredible to work with for our choreographed dance. I came into it with anxiety around what my partner and I wanted to accomplish in such short time. Meleah guided us and taught us so many moves and helped us with our choreography in such short time that we have put together a great dance very quickly with plenty of time to spare for practice. Meleah was amazing from the very beginning by accommodating our small window of time for a makeup trial. My husband was also looking to have makeup touch-ups done and Meleah was one of the only makeup artists who advertised all of the services I was searching for. She really understood who we are and the vision we had for our fall fairy wedding. I was worried I wouldn't recognize myself in makeup as I don't usually wear it. I wanted a natural, glowy, blushy look with copper and gold tones to match my ethereal dress, and Meleah knocked it out of the park!! I felt just like myself with all my features enhanced. She was very communicative throughout the whole process via email. Her assistant was also awesome working with my bridesmaids the day of. Best of all, both my husband and I had our hair and makeup stay perfectly all night! Even after sweating on the dance floor, our guests said we looked flawless!

Meleah is absolutely wonderful! I got married a few months ago in July and found her through the Knot App and loved her style for hair and makeup. Meleah is very organized and thoughtful when it comes to your style. Her and her stylists also did hair and makeup for my whole bridal party. Everyone looked amazing! My husband and I were both inexperienced with professional dancing but Meleah was amazing in guiding us as she choreographed a dance to a song my husband and I chose. We took five dance lessons with Meleah and performed an incredible choreographed dance at our reception. Neither of us had much ballroom dancing experience, but she created a beautiful set of choreography that was one of our favorite parts of the day. Our friends and family were super impressed! Meleah is absolutely amazing! She is very kind and patient. I provided her with some visionary ideas and she really brought them to life. She walks you through everything she is doing and makes sure you are happy. I did a pre-trail with her and booked her on the spot for the wedding day. She took great care of my mom, my bridesmaids and myself. She gave detailed instructions on what to do prior to her arrival which was greatly appreciated. Her and her assistant Constance were beyond amazing. We had great laughs, they were very organized and even ensured to be sensitive to my mom with some of her medical issues. Everyone turned out absolutely beautiful. I loved the added gold glitter to our hair that she did. Really made it pop. I also love that she sells her own makeup (I have already bought a few things from her). I highly recommend her for weddings and any special events.

One of the hardest parts of planning my wedding was finding a makeup artist to respond to my queries, but Meleah was the first to do so and she did it so timely! I opted not to do a trial session for my courthouse ceremony and yet she still made the appointment seamless despite having never met her before! Both my hair and makeup looked stunning (and stayed the entire day), and she even gave me some great pointers for my eyebrows and skincare. Meleah was great! She worked very well on my hair and plus she was quick. I love the elegant hairstyle she made, and it didn’t feel like it was too tight on my head so I was able to have it on the whole day on my wedding day. I’m originally from Calgary and decided to wed in San Diego, I knew no one and didn’t have connections for a hairstylist for my wedding day, however I was definitely lucky to have found her and she provided the service I needed. From planning to prep to the day of the wedding, Meleah was so helpful and knowledgeable, and extremely talented at both hair and makeup. I (the bride) do not typically wear makeup so I wanted a more natural look, and Meleah nailed it on the test run and again on the wedding day. She also did the most stunning twisted bun for my hair that looked elegant and stay put through the entire night. Meleah was very helpful in answering and offering guidance throughout the entire process. She even offered to jump on Zoom calls with my bridesmaids to talk through any questions they may have. Additionally, she went above and beyond in helping with prepping the veil so it fit perfectly with the hair. Hair and makeup was by far the most difficult vendor for me to book when planning my wedding. When I found Meleah (recommended to me by my coordinator) she was the third HMUA I had tried and I'm so happy I found her. She took all of my notes from my first two hair and makeup trials that didn't go well with other artists and asked me questions to make sure she knew what I was going for. Our trial went so well and I was excited to immediately book her. On the day of, it was her and two other HMUAs that came to our Air BnB. They came on time, left on time, and made me/my bridesmaids/mother of the groom feel and look so pretty! There's so much pressure to look your best on your wedding day and after getting out of Meleah's chair, I felt so calm and ready to get the rest of the day going! Every time I look at our pictures, I'm so happy with how the hair and makeup came out. And it lasted all the way through the wedding night, even after all the dancing/sweating/happy crying. Book Meleah and you'll be glad you did!

Had a wonderful experience for my elopement makeup and hair. Got married on a super hot day and literally hiked for our couple photos, but my makeup and hair still stayed put! Meleah did my hair at 7am and it was still holding strong, after photos, driving, several different stops, a change of outfit, lots of champagne, etc etc, until I went to bed. She was super kind, accommodating, and has very reasonable prices!

She was amazing, listening to me and she did exactly what I was dreaming, I just show her a picture and she figured out, it was a challenge because I have a lot of hair! But she did it perfectly

I cannot recommend Meleah enough. She is nothing short of a hair genius! My husband (fiance at the time) had a special request for her to create a "punkrock mermaid" look for me and boy, did Meleah deliver! She created a beautiful look with just the right amount of edge to satisfy my husband's request, fit my personality, AND still make it look feminine, soft and bridal. She also had the added challenge of creating something that would withstand the elements (we got married on the beach) AND remain in tack for 16 hours (we had a 9am ceremony and 6pm reception). Meleah was amazing and professional! My hair and makeup looked beautiful and stayed beautiful all night. Meleah is the absolute best. I got my hair and make up done by her for my wedding day (both ceremony and reception). All I had to was send her a few pics of my wedding dress and some requirements I had about my hair style. She did a stunning job for both the morning and evening events. She is also super fun and easy to talk to and that makes the whole experience a lot more fun and relaxing. Highly suggest getting a trial run with her so that you can go over your ideas and she is super efficient on the actual day of the event since she already has her notes and ideas from the trial run.

The ‘up-do’ you did for me (her mother) was something I will never forget. I was able to dance the night away without any problems and even the wind didn’t knock it down! Yet, it was very natural looking and wasn’t weighed down with heavy hairspray. The makeup you chose to put on me was so natural, yet elegant with my gold lace gown. I felt confident, beautiful and relieved that a professional had done my makeup. I received so many compliments that same evening and even now, via the wedding pictures…my hair and makeup still knock people’s socks off! I can’t say enough about how timely, professional, friendly and kind you and your staff were. You and your assistant came to my suite at Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn on time, set up the room very easily and did makeup on 3 women and hair on all 5 women. We all loved your services! You even went the extra mile for me when I had forgotten to bring my powder, I was able to purchase some of your translucent powder…which I love to this day! I would recommend your services again and again to everyone I meet who is out in San Diego! While searching the Internet for a make-up artist for my wedding, I stumbled upon Makeup, Hair & Dance by Meleah and, boy, am I happy I did! Meleah is great! She is quick to respond (unlike so many other makeup artists I had reached out to) and is so accommodating. At first, I just wanted my makeup done, then I decided to add my hair, then my fiancé decided to have his hair (and makeup) done, then we decided to have her teach us some dance steps, and the list goes on!
