She has a gentle, unassuming, and confident presence, which put us immediately at ease. During the course of the ceremony and reception, she was in every right place in the most unobtrusive manner. Her family photos were efficient and organized. She even sent us 30+ preview photos within days of the wedding. And unsurprisingly, they were absolutely stunning. We could not be happier. 

them. RC has a very specific way of doing things, and the redwood ceremony is so unique, they like to recommend photographers that know the lay of the land. Melissa was the first vendor we hired after booking our venue, and from beginning to end was the most incredible person to work with. The way she immediately saw me and my wife, and understood what we wanted out of our day both aesthetically and emotionally was so comforting. The planning process with her was easy and exciting, and we knew from the very first intro conversation that our day would be in phenomenal hands. She is also just the sweetest human. My wife, as well as a lot of our family members, are not comfortable posing for pictures or having a camera stuck in their face constantly. We wanted a very natural, almost candid feel to our day aside from couple portraits and some family photos. Melissa nailed it all - she had a detailed plan, knew what we wanted and didn't want, she worked quickly on the day-of, and made otherwise camera-weary people feel completely at-ease. A total angel! Now, her work absolutely speaks for itself, but if I were to put into words how talented of a photographer she is, I would probably run out of adjectives for "amazing." We got our final gallery back yesterday, and the photos instantly transported us back to the most special day of our lives. She captured the day in exactly the way it lives in our memories, which is SO hard to do, and she did it effortlessly. It was impossible to even narrow down the photos to post in this review, there are just too many amazing ones. It is also important for me to mention that for us as a lesbian couple, it was VERY important to us to find a photographer that not only made us feel comfortable and taken care of, but knew how to capture us and our love for one another in its most natural state. We had seen some examples of LGBTQ weddings on her website and instagram, and were in awe of how perfect their joy was expressed through still photos. Melissa was so inclusive; and we never questioned for a second whether she was the right fit for us. It was an immediate "yes" ! If you are even remotely thinking about hiring Melissa for your wedding, engagement, or elopement; JUST DO IT. We want to scream from the rooftops about her. We are beyond grateful to have worked with her, and will treasure the photos she captured of our wedding for the rest of our lives. Thank you Melissa!!!

She accommodated everything we asked for, was exceptionally good at getting us to be natural and enjoy the process of being photographed on both occasions, endeared herself to all of our wedding guests she worked with, and the end result of the photos was better than we could have imagined. We're looking forward to calling Melissa the moment we have another occasion we want photographed.

I knew we would great photos, but when I got my preview photos a day after our elopement I was BLOWN AWAY by how gorgeous they were and how well she captured the moment! Melissa is not only an incredible photographer, she is wonderful to work with. From our first meeting on zoom I loved how calm she was, how knowledgeable she was of the area, and how helpful she was. Her elopement planning guide is a work of art and she had excellent vendor recommendations. She helped us plan everything and was always there to answer questions. She made the day easy and was a calm and soothing presence on our big day. We were able to focus on each other and our loved ones and she did a perfect job of stepping in to guide us when needed and also staying back to capture it all as we enjoyed the moment. I highly recommend Melissa for any of your photography needs. She was able to capture some beautiful portraits and excels in capturing beautiful, non-posed, real moments.
