I first met Melissa at my sister-in-laws wedding, and knew immediately that whenever I got married, I’d need to have her as my photographer too. Melissa took our engagement photos and our wedding photos and they are STUNNING. She has such a calming presence and knows how to capture every special moment in the most amazing ways. I typically don’t enjoy taking photos and feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Melissa helped me relax and at times she blended in with the moment to capture the best candid photos. I also appreciated her ability to direct us and tell us where to stand or how to move in order to capture the best shot. Additionally, Melissa is the sweetest person and was so flexible when we needed to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic. She emailed us to check in and helped us get excited when we didn’t know if our wedding could happen or what it would look like if it did. She’s truly amazing and I am so grateful she captured our special day. Just as I found Melissa through my sister-in-law, I have friends who plan to use Melissa the day they get married because they loved our photos so much. Do not look any further for your wedding photographer. You will not regret hiring Melissa.

Beyond being such a kind and easy person to work with, Melissa is amazingly talented at what she does. Melissa and her assistant Bethany were absolutely amazing, they were my favorite vendor I worked with on my wedding day! It rained on our wedding day so we had to make some last minute changes about photo locations. Melissa was so calm and helpful in doing this, which was so appreciated. The photos we got back are absolutely beautiful! She even managed to capture a double rainbow :) I would highly recommend Melissa and Bethany!

Melissa and her team are not only wonderful to work with, but the finished product is stunning. She is very easy to work with and will help take you through all the steps for her to understand the vision and priorities for your big day. It was important to us to have our same photographer for our engagement session so we could get to know them before the wedding day, and Melissa was so accommodating in traveling to NYC to have our engagement session near our home. On the day itself, Melissa and her team were right on time, got all of our preferred shots (it was a long list!) and we still had some time to ourselves before joining the party. The end photos are stunning -- consistent with her light-filled style which we love. The final photos were delivered on time as outlined -- which was so lovely to get photos to use for holiday cards. Melissa & Bethany truly captured our day perfectly. From the first phone call with Melissa, I was so impressed with how professional and sweet she was. We had Melissa & Bethany shoot our engagement photos last fall and had the pleasure of working with them again for our wedding at Aldrich Mansion in September. Melissa was absolutely amazing to work with! Since last fall when she shot our engagement photos we knew we had chosen the right photographer. She made us feel so comfortable and the pictures were gorgeous! We were married 2 weeks ago and Melissa was absolutely wonderful! Melissa and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with. I had Melissa shoot my engagement pictures about a year before our wedding, and we were immediately impressed with her photos., but once we started to receive our wedding pictures back we were beyond impressed. She was so helpful throughout the entire process. During the week leading up to my wedding she took the time to walk through the entire timeline of the day, all of my must have shot lists, and even suggested some photos that I didn't think of that are now some of my favorite pictures. On the wedding day she was extremely professional yet so fun to be around She grabbed my Husband and I at all the right times to sneak away from the reception for just a few more pictures that she felt were needed - and captured every little detail we were looking for to allow us to relive our day over and over again. Melissa and crew were simply amazing!! After speaking with Melissa for an hour for our initial call, I knew I wanted her to be our wedding photographer. Plus, I loved her soft, natural, feminine style. It was perfect for our Block Island wedding!! I’m a pretty indecisive person but she made everything so easy. She truly captured our wedding perfectly. We didn’t use a videographer but with how many amazing candids melissa and Bethany were able to capture from the ceremony through the reception, we were able to relive every detail. We just got our engagement session photos in, which were included in the photography package we chose from our photographer Melissa Stimpson. She did such an amazing job on all of the shots, my fiancé and I are so happy with every photo from the entire day! The photos were taken in the city after 4pm during 30’ weather but you’d never know it from the amount of natural light she was able to capture throughout the session. This makes me so excited for our wedding day photos, we absolutely LOVE Melissa Stimpson’s quality of work.

Her photos are priceless and had such an elegance and beauty. I couldn't be more happy with the many pictures I have that captured the most special day in my life. I cannot say enough great things about Melissa. She is delightful, her talent is unmatched, and her photos are spectacular. Her customer service is spot on, and after we booked her she sent me a package in the mail with a cute note and a book of love quotes. I have only seen three of our wedding photos, but she included a free engagement session for us, which i highly recommend. by the time the wedding came around, we were all comfortable around each other, which made things a lot easier. her attention to detail is wonderful, and her costs are reasonable. the only negative was that the rights to the digital photos are not included in her fee, but a (worth it) add on cost. BOOK HER.

I am so happy that I chose Melissa to photograph my September wedding! After finding her through theknot.com and meeting her in person my (now) husband and I knew we wanted her to photograph our day. Her aesthetic is very classic and beautiful and all of my photos are stunning. She really exceeded my expectations. She listened to what I wanted and delivered above and beyond and I cannot wait to put together the album (our package includes three). We also had an engagement session (which was rained out but I loved the pictures anyway!) and two photographers for our wedding which was really fantastic! Another unexpected but really nice touch was toward the end of our day she set up her laptop and had a slideshow of some of the pictures up and the guests (& I!) really loved that. I really can't recommend her enough and can't wait to use her again!

I wanted a photographer that was going to catch our personalites and give us something unique and I found that with Melissa! She was so professional, personable, and easy to work with. She has such an eye for detail but was also completely open to any suggestions we had. Anyone who's seen our engagement and/or wedding photos absolutely fall in love! I suggest that WHEN you book with Melissa you get a package that includes an engagement photo shoot, it really gives you the chance to connect and loosen up in front of the camera. I LOVE the idea of having 2 photographers at the Wedding you're able to capture everything of both the Bride & Groom! I will be sure to contact Melissa for my future photography needs (baby, family, etc) and will recommend her to everyone, you definitely won't be dissappointed!

I was so thankful to work with Melissa for our wedding! She really listened to what we wanted and the photos were beautiful! I love how she captured the "feeling" of our day and she was so unobtrusive. We were also doing our wedding on a budget and Melissa's prices were excellent without compromising quality. She took all of the shots that I asked for, and found many more moments I never would have thought of. Melissa truly loves weddings and she celebrates each couples individual story with her photos.
