p but also knew I didn’t want to do my makeup myself on my wedding day ( didn’t need the stress!). So I took to searching for an artist that would make me look like myself but was better. I happened to see Melissa’s work as one of her brides was featured on a wedding IG account and her makeup was stunning. I immediately set out to book and was able to get a trial run for my engagement photos. From the minute I walked into Melissa’s studio for my trial, she felt like my long lost friend. She knew exactly what I wanted and achieved the most perfect, airbrushed look of my life. I enjoyed time with her so much I ended up staying an extra 45 minutes just yapping. On my wedding day she arrived first and helped center me as the week had been very stressful given some weather situations we were not prepared for. She became friends with everyone in the room and did the most amazing looks on my mother in law and my mom. My mother in law has the most gorgeous blue eyes and Melissa made them pop and has converted her to wearing eyeshadow. She made my skin look like porcelain and gave me the best makeup look of my life. And my makeup lasted 11+ hours without a dent or smudge! Through tears, sweat, dancing and many hugs it looks just as perfect at 3 am when I went to wash it off as it did upon first application. Melissa is an amazing vendor and her artistry is top tier and she’s an amazing person to have in the room on your wedding day. Hire her you won’t be disappointed!

For my bridal portraits, it was raining, and my makeup stayed absolutely perfect despite the Louisiana humidity and rain. The night of our wedding, my makeup stayed from the morning all the way until after the reception ended at midnight. I got so many compliments of my makeup, and that’s all thanks to her! Melissa made me feel GORGEOUS. I didn’t feel the need to change one aspect of the look she gave me for my wedding day. My bridesmaids looked stunning and we didn’t have one complaint among the group of (often critical/opinionated) girls! Everyone’s makeup held throughout the ceremony and 4 hour (sweaty) reception with no flashback in any pictures which astounded me. It’s hard to get a makeup that looks consistent in iPhone pictures, Polaroids, and professional pictures — but she did it! 12/10 recommend Melissa because she will listen to you and follow your vision to every detail. she’s worth every single penny.

I’m not sure other makeup artists would do... she taught me all the secrets, tips, and tricks of wedding day makeup. She sat down with me and my makeup and taught me step by step how to do my wedding day glam. She not only did this for me but also for my mom who wanted to have an idea of how she’d like her makeup to look so she could relay that to the makeup artist at our resort. When I say step by step, I mean that. She took the the time and really cared that I understood and felt comfortable with all of the information. I felt totally confident with all of the guidance from Melissa and pulled off my wedding day glam all by myself. Melissa is truly a gem in New Orleans. Highly recommend over and over again.

I never felt awkward in her studio and when she was in my bridal suite, everyone loved her so much. She makes an effort to get to know everybody in her chair and it is so easy to just open up to her and I honestly felt like she was just a friend doing my makeup every time. Melissa also really cares about your skin, not just the makeup she's putting on your skin. She was always very sanitary. She considered your skin type before choosing certain makeup. She chose colors that worked best with your complexion. I knew I was always getting a custom experience with her. Do yourself and your wedding party a favor and hire Melissa. She will bring out the best in everyone and you'll enjoy getting to know her in the process.
