We strongly advise no one book with Melo Photo & Video. Three days before our wedding, we were informed that our videograp...
her had canceled — and Melo told us they had no backup available. Their only response was to offer a refund for the videographer portion, with no effort to help us find a replacement or offer any meaningful compensation for their complete failure in service.
We trusted Melo to handle one of the most important days of our lives, and they left us devastated, scrambling to find coverage just days before our wedding. This kind of unreliability and lack of accountability is unacceptable for any professional company, especially one operating in the wedding industry.
Please save yourself the stress and heartbreak and book directly with a reputable local photographer/videographer instead of going through Melo. Their inability to deliver what was promised — and unwillingness to make things right — speaks volumes.

were very warm and friendly, and made us feel comfortable that they were going to capture our special weekend exactly how we wanted it. Our wedding party mentioned over and over again how impressive the production value of our videography was. The videographers knew exactly how they wanted to shoot our event, and listened to all of our ideas and incorporated what was important us.
Our byDesign coordinator, Vanessa Walden, was incredible in making sure that our video turned out exactly how we wanted it. We were stunned by how cinematic and beautiful our highlight film and full-length video were. During the entire process, she kept us in the loop, gave us a vast library of songs to choose from for our films, and most importantly, implemented any changes that we wanted to our films before we shared them with friends and family.
Could not have been happier with our decision to have byDesign shoot our wedding!

day! Among the vendors we researched and spoke with, they offered everything we were looking for for the most reasonable price. Though we never met in person until the day of the wedding, communication was so simple, easy, and quick. When we finally did meet our videographers the day of the wedding, they were very friendly and again easy to talk to and work with. They worked real well with our photographer which was so important because I know how it can be difficult when the two get in each other’s way. The videos were delivered in a timely manner and were better than we could have hoped for. Though behind the scenes it seemed like a chaotic day, the videos made it seem like everything was effortless and smooth. They captured all of the right moments and we look forward to looking back on this day years from now.

more than a year ago at this point, to months after the wedding when the films were complete, everyone on the team was kind, responsive, helpful and professional. We cannot thank the team and especially Sherri for making this experience such an enjoyable one.
I know our asks were extensive and our expectiations were high, but the team was BEYOND patient with us.
Our hopes and expectations were fearfully high - I worried that no one would meet them. However, the film the ByDesign Films created not only meets but exceeded our expectations. I cannot put into words how thankful we are that we chose y'all to work with. The videos bring back so many amazing memories and bring tears to my eyes each time I watch them. They are absolutely beautiful. The music, the footage, the editing... its all perfect. I do not understand how the team was able to create a film that so accurately portrayed our love and our wedding day.

Hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the day we were engaged (let’s be honest... prior to that..) we wanted to have a cinematographer at our wedding....
Then we started shopping around and sadly took it out of our budget... then we happened to come across byDesign films (I may or may not have been still dreaming of our wedding video)... After a great email exchange with Zack and with only 3 months to go until our wedding, we found a way to make it work with his help. Once we confirmed, Zack put us in contact with Brittany who was SO AMAZING through the entire process. She emailed us back every time in what felt like mintues and was very communicative and helpful from day one. Fast forward to our perfect wedding day.. this amazing couple (Dakin and Laura) showed up to start filming. They never once made us feel awkward or uncomfortable, everything was so natural and FUN. The worst part about our whole experience was the anticipation waiting for our films to arrive, but even then, they came faster than expected!! Erica did our editing and took everything Laura and Dakin captured, and turned it into everything we dreamed of and more. The little details (like panning over our lost loved ones while the officiant is mentioning those we wish were here with us... or when my husband was talking about my smile in his vows and she put that over footage of me smiling while getting ready) it’s just perfect. It has been so special to be able to share with friends and family who were not able to make the trip; we can’t stop watching it and cannot wait to share with our future generations.
In short- choose byDesign, you won’t regret it!!!

The company has a graduated payment plan, requiring an initial deposit when the contract is signed and the balance due just prior to the event date. Overall, we had a great experience with each person on our byDesign Films team - they were professional, kind and great to work with.
Our project coordinator, Sherri, worked with us throughout the entire process from the time we signed our contract leading up to our big day and after our wedding until video delivery. She was fantastic to work with, always answering our questions quickly, helping us prepare and document the “must have” shots for our Wedding and then guiding us through the video production and editing process after the big day. Once our video was completed, Sherri worked with the editing team to make a few adjustments to our final product to ensure everything was perfect!
Our Videographer, Phillip, was fantastic! He arrived early, was very attentive and worked seamlessly with our photographer to get phenomenal footage of our wedding day. He captured all of our “must have” shots, as well as great footage throughout the day. The attention to detail paid off, giving us an amazing wedding video that we will cherish forever.
The editing team did an amazing job on our short film. They narrowed about 8 hours of footage down to a series of beautiful moments that show our wedding story. The film truly is a piece of art!
We cannot recommend this company enough - you will not be disappointed!

I started out planning our wedding with no intent on hiring a videographer since I had a photographer already and thought having pictures were enough. Later, I was told by friends and family that, not having a video would be my biggest regret. I didnt want this to be the case, so I listened.
I found ByDesign Films through the knot and did my research. their quality was phenomenal, the videos I watched of other couples, was like a movie. Each film told a different love story, I was amazed. As any bride though, I still had many fears about hiring them because at the time, that was a lot of money to invest in something that I wasn't planning on doing from the beginning. I also am used to the one on one person experience not a whole team. I was worried that with so many people working on my video, that it wouldn't be as personal... but boy, I was wrong!
Once I inquired, the team embraced me and set up a phone call to discuss the wedding. They walked me though the steps and collections as well explaining what the team does. My Project Coordinator, never got annoyed at all of my many questions before and even after the wedding which was the BEST customer service. Im a person who knows exactly what I'm wanting, when it comes to the wedding indostry (since I'm a wedding photographer). Some vendors tend to get turned away by this and want to do their own thing at a wedding, but bydesign films listened to EXACTLY what I wanted and went beyond that. This made it so personal for Mike and I.
Once we received our 3 Films I had the biggest smile ever and tears came out of my eyes. I LOVE the footage and how it was put into the film. Its like being able to be back at the wedding day and see so many memories of footage that I had already forgotten about before watching the film. We will now be able to have these for the rest of our lives. I am so blessed by the amazing team who made the films possible.
For any brides or couples out there who don't know whether to hire a videographer, look no further than ByDesign Films. Let this review be enough, because this will be, one of the BEST investment you will make, on documenting your day and seeing the real footage of the love. You brides plan, plan, plan for many months. When the wedding day actually comes, it goes by so fast and most brides aren't able to take it all in. That was me, I was that bride. same bland conventional stuff. Then I happened to stumble upon this company. I was completely blown away- the quality of their films is on a whole different level. It's movie quality. I was no less blown away with my own wedding film they produced, it is truly a masterpiece. My friends and family were in tears watching it.
Working with the whole team before, during, and after my wedding was a dream. Brittany, the project manager, is super friendly, attentive, very detail-oriented, and always responded to my emails promptly. They also let you be as involved as you want in the production process, ie music selection, overall theme, scene additions/deletions. Also, on the day of my wedding, the videographers were great about being in the foreground and not detracting from any events. They were great working alongside my photographer, and were very easy going with any ideas we had.
I really can't say enough great things about this company. If you can swing it, do it. You'll be so happy you did.

or any editing team to decipher what footage or specific shots are important/meaningful for you to include in your video so communication during post-production is key to requesting the changes you want. The team was very accommodating and willing to get the films as close as possible to what you want. We focused on making changes to our highlight film because that's what we were sharing with friends/family and most likely to rewatch over and over again, so we left our full length alone, especially since making changes to it would've been an endless pursuit. The team, including the camera crew the day of, were very professional and easy to work with. Thanks ByDesign!

She was so professional and promptly responded to my emails as well and worked so hard to ensure that our video was 100% perfect for us. I did A LOT of research on videographers, and ByDesign is the best quality for the most reasonable price. My family and I are so happy with our film and we are so excited to be able to have this memory for the rest of our lives. If you are considering a videographer for your wedding, do yourself a favor and book with ByDesign! You will not be disappointed!

wedding that they didn’t have enough “quality footage” to produce my wedding film. I paid for extended time, upgraded cameras, two videographers and a drone and all I got was a few minutes of a highlight film. I did not receive my actual wedding video. They had no explanation as to why this had happened but I assume it’s because they hire freelance workers to capture their film. I will never be able to remake my day and not having that video I was promised is beyond devastating. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your wedding day video needs. Extremely unprofessional, unreliable and heartbreaking.

ble result. But it basically turned out to be a huge disappointment. The samples ByDesign put up are nothing like what I hot back from them. My $100k wedding looks like somebody's sweet 16 in the video. I really want to ask why spent so much time on shooting the chairs??? Why not the flowers, guests or me the bride??? Maybe I should expect this when I saw the typo on ByDesin's price menu. I have only been frugal this once in my life, and I deeply regret it.

After ByDesign has received my complaints, they have made great effort in re-editting my video. Though the end result is still not 100% perfect due to the lack of good original footage, I will still raise my review from 1 star to 3 stars in appreciation of their re-editting effort.

ideo, and the final outcome was absolutely amazing. The day of the wedding both videographers arrived on time were able to fit in seamlessly with the groom and bridal parties. We barely even noticed they were there! When the final product arrived, it was beautiful but we had some small editing requests. The ByDesign team, in particular Brittany Reichwald, were so accommodating and kindly made our requested changes with no issues at all. The video is seriously stunning and not at all cheesy or corny like a lot we had seen before with other companies. Would highly recommend this great company!
