We hired Melo Photography and Video for our elopement on December 5th, and from the very beginning the experience felt intentional, thoughtful, and incredibly well organized. Prior... to being assigned our photographer, we worked with multiple Melo coordinators who helped us thoughtfully plan our wedding day timeline, venues, addresses, and logistics to make the absolute most of our four-hour window. That level of care set the tone early on.
Jordy was assigned to us just a few days before our ceremony, and from her very first message she was warm, communicative, and genuinely excited for us. On the day of our wedding, she arrived early and was already scouting locations, lighting, and angles before we even arrived. We had a few ideas for shots at the courthouse, and not only did she capture everything we suggested, she brought creative ideas of her own that elevated the entire experience.
Our day didn’t go perfectly on paper — we ran behind schedule, snow prevented a proper rehearsal, and much of the posing and setup ended up being impromptu. Through it all, Jordy was patient, flexible, calm, and incredibly professional. She took direction gracefully, offered suggestions seamlessly, and helped everything flow naturally. Her ability to adapt in real time made us feel relaxed, confident, and fully present — which is priceless on your wedding day.
One moment that truly went above and beyond: when we were running short on time, Jordy volunteered to pick up a table linen for our unity sand ceremony so we could focus on getting to the ceremony. That single act speaks volumes about the care she puts into her couples.
Despite unexpected car trouble later in the day, Jordy handled everything behind the scenes without ever alarming us. She coordinated with a fellow photographer, McKenzie, who met us on-site at our outdoor ceremony in Cottonwood Heights and traveled with our caravan to the private reception. We weren’t even informed until the issue had already been resolved — that level of professionalism allowed us to stay fully in the moment.
Jordy stayed past the contracted time at no additional charge to ensure we captured every meaningful moment — from the courthouse, to the ceremony, to our intimate private reception. She wasn’t just documenting our wedding; she was emotionally invested. She cried during both the ceremony and the reception, celebrated with us afterward over champagne and cake, and truly felt like a friend rather than a vendor.
By the end of the night, we had exchanged social media, talked about future travels, and honestly felt like we had gained lifelong connections. We’re planning a larger wedding celebration on our one-year anniversary, and I genuinely want Jordy there — not just as a photographer, but as part of the celebration.
We don’t even have our photos back yet, and we can confidently say we would book her again in a heartbeat and recommend her without hesitation. The way she showed up for us — lovingly, emotionally, and professionally — tells us the photos will be nothing short of amazing. Jordy didn’t just photograph our wedding; she loved on us and loved our love, and that is something we will never forget.
