I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The salesmen was rude and any time I asked about a specific suit he would say “well that’s $900....” ok? And what if I want a $900 suit. Will never be back.
This was the only issue we had. My husband went to mens warehouse in Hamden CT. The first visit no one listened to him on wanting to be original look a lil different. So traditional tuxe ect. I had to go back and switch it up. my gown was ivory. we wanted black and ivory. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is the Manager of rentals got my vision and helped us step it up. But the tuxes werent ivory they looked more white. My father purchased his and Hated it small pants were off. The groomsmen were too short not ivory like promised
If you want a amazing selection do not go here!! Dont waist your time!! No attention to detail no fixing the hems or colors nothing was done. we had to adjust and make it work. Never again. Even though the Manager tried and did help I would not reccomend this place for a groom or groomsmen!! or father of the bride.
If there was one thing I probably would have changed about my wedding day it would have been not going with Men's Warehouse. Although the tuxes came out right and it was ok in the end, our groomsmen experienced differing levels of professionalism at the different locations in CT. Most tried not to hem pants even when they were dragging. When my father-in-law was picking up his, another groom was in the location complaining because Men's Warehouse wrote down the wrong date for his wedding by MONTHS. When the tuxes were dropped off in Enfield, the guy working just took off the tags off each bag and scanned them in. He didn't check anything at all or even open them up. A tux could have been completely missing and he would have had no idea whose it was! Men's Warehouse has a monopoly on this aspect of the wedding industry and they know it.
I would caution you if you were thinking of going to Men's Wearhouse. We used the one in Westport, Ct. We had all of our Groomsman fitted in December (mind you, my wedding was in June). Come to find out, these suits don't come in until two days before the wedding on Thursday.. on which, I only had 2 groomsman and my husband who did not have any issues. Those who had issues, had to send everything back for a new size over night to come in on Friday (cutting it a little close, no?). The style that I went with did not require jackets, so we did not order them... the guys just needed vests. Men's Wearhouse decided to give one of my groomsman a BIB without my approval or his approval - just did whatever they felt like doing. At this point, I went in there myself - I demanded that they figure out the bib situation because none of my groomsman were wearing jackets and he could not just have a bib. They said no problem, but it wouldn't be in until Saturday morning.. well my wedding stared at 11:30AM. Luckily, we were able to get it by Friday.. but the lack of caring by the staff.. the disorganization, and the frustration we endured was not worth it by any means. It was unprofessional and not worth the money!!! Spend the little more and go to a real professional who spends the time to get it just right for you. This place isn't worth saving the extra few bucks.
This is a cautionary tale. So let's talk about Men's Wearhouse. We used the Meriden CT and Waterbury CT stores. Let's talk about how first at the Meriden store my husband and I visited it about 6-7 weeks before our wedding and thought we had set everything up only to find out when my father went to get measured this arrogant jerk who was rude to my father not once, but TWICE in one day told my father we "didn't exist" because we never left a deposit and weren't entered into the system because we weren't told to. I had to call this arrogant jerk and settle issues then I ended up in the store screaming at him after the 2nd call from my father telling me how rude this guy was to him AGAIN. He was arrogant and smirking the whole time and telling me my 70 year old father was lying to me. What would my father have to gain from laying to me? My husband, his friends and my 2 nephews from California all ordered and picked up from the Meriden location. After that debacle my dad went to Waterbury where my other 3 nephews had rented from. This was a month before the wedding, he got measured and left a deposit. 2 days before the wedding he goes to pick up the suit and they tell him that per their mistake they had never ordered it. 2 DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING! Needless to say I called corporate and demanded my father get his deposit back and receive his rental for free. At that point we had 9 rentals through them and my husband purchased his suit, a tie and 4 hats, I felt as though we were owed it after all the BS we had gone through. Luckily they delivered and everyone received their suits even my father. Sadly they were our only option for what we wanted. So use at your own discretion.
The Men's Wearhouse in Waterbury, CT was where we had our men fitted and ordered the tuxes. They were so good and helpful to us. We were getting married in Florida though, so they transferred the information and order to their store, and we had a ton of mix ups on Florida's end. All in all, everything turned out okay. The guys looked great!
The guys got all their rentals here and with 5 rentals the groom get a free suit. My groom loved his tux, said it was really comfortable. After the wedding he got free suit worth $550!! Well worth it just for that.
