I can honestly say I was extremely impressed with the photos that Tim took at our wedding. My wedding party looks so amazing and he really takes a whole lot of photos to ensure he gets the perfect picture.
Tim shot both my bridal photo shoot and my wedding. Two different occasions and two different locations (outdoors/nature shots vs. a venue). Both photo shoots were successful despite having all kinds of factors working against us. The first photo shoot was challenging because the area he wanted to shoot at in Dallas was under major construction. Then we had the issue of time restraints due to hair and make-up problems earlier in the day.
Tim is going to methodically let you know how much daylight or natural light you have left to get the perfect shots. He will let you know where you need to stand, pose, etc to get you the BEST shot and unlike a lot of imposters out there, he will actually show you what the digital preview will look like immediately, so you have an idea of what it's going to look like and make any minor adjustments right then and there.
I read on here that people are saying he is "demanding". Others have used the term "passionate". Here's my take on this having had worked with 20 different vendors for my wedding. Sit down and have a conversation about what your expectations are for the day BEFORE the event. This way there are no miscommunications and/or hard feelings the day of. Ladies, I promise you that you will need to be the happiest bride you can be because it will truly translate in your pictures. They say "blushing bride" for a reason. If you are stressed, nervous, upset or "sweating the small stuff", there is no photoshop in the world that will take away from a forced smile or a scowl on your face while he's capturing those raw, uncensored moments.
You have to remember that photography is a collaborative effort. While the photographer is the expert, only you have certain ideas that are meaningful to you. If you want a picture of you holding a special candle, bible, prop, stuffed animal, whatever, then communicate that to him and explain this is why this moment/picture is so special to you.
As far as the wedding goes, let me say this. He went above and beyond what was needed! He came to our hotel around noon where the bridal party was getting dressed and wrapped up the reception around midnight. I told him ahead of time, please make sure you eat dinner at the event because he was on his feet non-stop. He would literally jog to an area where I was to capture a special moment or even a silly moment (I was having the best time at the reception). The pictures came out fabulous and he shot a very large quantity.
Unlike others, I am that person that doesn't care about editing or photoshopping too much as it may be important to others. He is going to show you your album with corrections made to put you in the best light. I assure you of this. If there are distracting things like exit signs or fire extinguishers on the wall, he will digitally remove them, so nothing shows but your gorgeous gown and your spouse.
Finally, my guests made a point to tell me that he made them feel like celebrities, whether it was my 76-year-old mother-in-law or my 9-year-old Flower Girl. They said he encouraged them to pose a certain way and said things like "Beautiful mom! Good job!"
I highly recommend Tim Ostermeyer with Mer De Louve for all your special occasion photography needs!
What photographer. Doesn't know how to focus on a subject, doesn't understand lighting, 98% photos are essentially worthless and you'd be better off paying your buddy $20 to use an iPhone camera. Here are the facts.
98% unusable, undesirable photos
Nearly 1/3 had distracting black smudges that were on his camera lens (he doesn't know anything about lenses clearly).
Over 1/2 are random and make you think, huh???? Where was that??
Barged into the bride's and women's dressing room without knocking or announcing and was sent out by bridesmaids.
If you're short man or shorter than the girl he simply must have you stand on something, and then forgets to edit it out. If you're a fat girl, he simply must use cheap Photoshop that looks like MS Paint to thin her up everywhere.
He's a serial narcissist and not one you want to work with.
Oh, and for Pete's sake, just look at this photos. It's so bad, you can tell which ones he cut and pasted the people on another photo. His pink skies are terrible looking. He doesn't understand shadows or light, which further proves he doesn't understand lighting. He even put a giant moon.... IN FRONT OF THE CLOUDS. HE USED THAT PHOTO HERE TWICE!! Hilarious to say the least.
My experience was the complete opposite of the reviews left before mine. Infact just about everyone of my wedding pictures had black dots all over them from what I am assuming was either a dirty lens or faulty equiptment. After specifically asking no photoshop to my body I was still shown and given edited photos from photoshop that altered myself and my husband.
I included 3 photos. 1 where I highlighted black dots that's in just about every photo, more noticeable on the picture where they are on my dress. The other two are of bad photoshop, I paid a lot for my wedding dress and the photoshop has it repeating patterns that makes the dress look weird, and it was meant to cover up my fat arms which as a result makes my arm look unnatural. The last one is just to show how obvious the editing in photoshop was done where you can clearly see it looks like it was painted.
I have never worked with such a perfectionist! My pictures are excellent! Tim has been a joy to work with. I recommend him to anyone that wants beautiful lasting memories in pics and video.
Outstanding detail and care in creating our wedding memories.
Tim has a great artistic ability that would be unmatched. Appreciate all the hard work!!
Tim showed a real dedication to ensuring that the vision my bride & I had came to fruition. We were very happy with the photos & appreciated his professionalism. I strongly recommend him to any couples looking for a photographer for their special day.
