About this vendor
Located in Doylestown, PA, Mercer Museum is a wedding venue that offers a one-of-a-kind event experience. It is also a seven-story history museum that showcases life in the United States during the 18th and 19th centuries. The designer and builder of the museum was Dr. Henry Chapman Mercer, who had the museum constructed to look like a castle. Completed in 1916, it provides a historical and memorable backdrop for wedding celebrations.
Couples can begin their wedding celebrations with either a ceremony on the lush lawn or inside the art-filled Elkins Gallery. The Elkins Gallery features a Georgian style, with two fireplaces, a baby grand piano, and a collection of Bucks County paintings. This gallery is next to the museum and was designed by Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer. It is suitable for receptions as well. After the vows have been exchanged, guests can host an indoor reception with 80 guests. Dining and dancing can also take place outside in the clear-sided tent, with room for up to 180 people. From here, loved ones can gaze out at the castle, which is lit at night, to stand out brilliantly. Guests have access to the museum as well during the festivities.
The Mercer Museum offers plenty of photo opportunities throughout the grounds. Numerous services are also provided to ensure that your occasion is a success. The team can provide tables, chairs, flatware, linens, glassware, china, cleanup, and more for your convenience. Catering and event planning services are offered as well, making it simple to bring your dream day to life.

The Mercer Museum was beautiful but unfortunately you are required to use Jeffrey A. Miller as the catering company. I feel the need to warn other potential couples of my experience and have already learned of many other couples and even past staff members (2 so far) acknowledging the unacceptable amount of mistakes and lack of organization they experienced while there. Please be sure to look at the lowest rated reviews, as they are overlooked because they bribe couples with add-ons to post good reviews to flood out the bad ones. My entire wedding day, from arrival to photos, cocktail hour, ceremony and reception, were CONSTANT issues to the point of me having a list of 20 things that I felt were unacceptable. My bridal party was treated poorly by the coordinator and had to help run the day as much as they could because of the lack of direction. Please do your research and weigh the risks.
The museum is a gorgeous setting for a wedding! All our guests were raving about its uniqueness. The museum staff themselves were so easy to work with and very helpful the day of.
Beautiful unique venue inside a museum with extravagant views of the mansion from the dining area and a one of a kind indoor ceremony space with multiple floors of balcony space for family viewing. Would recommend to other couples for a one of a kind unique experience.
The tour guide was amazing, very informative. The Mercer museum was a beautiful venue, we will definitely consider this for our wedding in the near future.
What a amazing venue. Beautiful place for a wedding. We decided to book the Mercer Museum for our fall wedding and the photos online don’t do it justice, spectacular. We toured the venue and were blown away by how incredibly beautiful it is, the great packages, and the coordinators are so responsive and accommodating. The venue package comes with everything you need to make for easy planning. Could not recommend enough!!
