OWNERS
Merci is a French-inspired bakery creating beautifully styled pastry experiences for weddings and special celebrations throughout San Diego. Our menu centers around handcrafted viennoiserie and breakfast pastries, including buttery croissants, pain au chocolat, cruffins, almond croissants, cinnamon rolls, chocolate brioche, and a rotating selection of seasonal specialties such as cardamom buns, apple crumble danishes, and salted maple banana bread.
Our pastry tables are designed for the moments surrounding the wedding day — getting-ready mornings with your wedding party, welcome breakfasts for visiting guests, post-wedding brunches, morning-after gatherings, and intimate celebrations throughout the weekend.
Couples can choose from fresh pastry delivery or a fully styled pastry table presented in our signature relaxed French farmhouse style. Each display is thoughtfully arranged to feel warm, abundant, and inviting.
Everything is prepared in small batches with an emphasis on flavor, craftsmanship, and presentation. Our goal is to create a breakfast spread that feels more special than a traditional continental breakfast — something guests are excited to gather around, enjoy, and remember.

Sofia and Job
Owners
Merci Bakery was founded by Sofia and Job, a husband-and-wife team brought together by a love of French food, hospitality, and creating meaningful experiences around the table.
Sofia is Mexican American and originally from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She studied and worked in pastry in Paris, France, where she developed her love for French baking and the techniques that continue to inspire Merci’s pastries today.
Job is originally from France and brings a strong sense of hospitality, service, and attention to detail to Merci. Together, we’ve created Merci as a meeting point between our backgrounds — French pastry, Mexican warmth, and our life here in San Diego.
We love being part of the meaningful moments surrounding a wedding, from a quiet getting-ready breakfast to a pastry table shared with family and friends the morning after.
