Quickly within our first conversation I knew he was going to be our dj. He was easy to talk to and I could tell that he enjoys what he does and really wants to make his couples happy. He checks in on you throughout the night to make sure all the music you want is being played, and he made sure I approved of requests for artists he knew I didn't want played. Shane really takes care of his clients and makes sure you feel great about your party!!

Well, Shane did just that PLUS some… four years ago, we met Shane at a Starbucks and it was “love at first song request” lol! We COVID eloped in 2020 and had our big vow ceremony on 10/1/22, so finally having Shane do his thing at our wedding was nothing short of amazing! He ensured all of my song requests, don’t-play requests & everything in between was played. He also managed to catch some sweet highlight video footage of some super memorable moments throughout the day. He came and visited me where I waited before the ceremony began and made me feel so comfortable and excited, some DJs don’t even come from behind their booths at a wedding. Shane is no longer just someone who worked at my wedding, but he’s now family. The guy dealt with all the craziness and partying from my friends and family that night and I couldn’t be any happier as to how everything went on our big day! I’m telling you, you won’t regret hiring Shane Mercier as your wedding DJ!

Obviously, good reviews but who knew there was so much else to consider, like type of vibe you want for your wedding/reception, type of music you want played for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. How much MCing there will be or will not be, someone who will listen to your every request. Shane checked off every, single, box. When Shane and I initially got in contact, we had a 45-minute phone consultation about the wants and needs of what my husband and I were looking for our reception. Shane new exactly the type of vibe we were looking for and was on the same page when it came to music choices for cocktail hour vs reception. He asked for us to send him 5 songs that we would want played at the reception during dance hours and he put a mix together with the songs so we could listen to how he transitioned them and kept the party flow going. We were immediately impressed and signed the contract with him the same day. Fast forward to a week or so before the reception, Shane sent us some forms to fill out with questions, must have songs and do not play song requests. When we met him at the reception venue on wedding day, he was there over an hour early to start setting up and when he was done putting all the equipment together, he changed into wedding attire to fit the dress code. Cocktail hour was soon underway, and Shane got the mood going with the music we asked for. Meanwhile, he walked around and got to know our guests, had a couple of appetizers, a beverage here and there, he even took some amazing video of the bride and groom (he should be a videographer on the side). We loved that he blended in and enjoyed himself, he got along with our friends and family as if he had been a lifelong friend. Once cocktail hour ended, Shane was there to keep our timeline moving with our first dance, mother and son dance, father and daughter dance, and we had a video we wanted played so he made sure to help set up the projector and connect to his sound system to ensure the whole crowd could hear. Shane did not miss a beat of what we needed all night long. He played all our must play songs and was sure to not play any of the songs on our do not play list. He kept the dance floor PACKED all night long, he even played 20 minutes after we were supposed to wrap up because so many people were having such a great time. I got compliments all night long from friends and family at how great the playlist of music was and how easy it was to stay on the dance floor the way Shane mixes his beats. We wanted a party and Shane delivered. We cannot thank Shane enough for providing us with an unforgettable evening.

:) first off, as someone who’s biggest pet peeve is waiting for someone to answer my email, I needed vendors for my wedding who didn’t leave me hanging for days on end. As soon as I reached out, Shane was totally responsive. He kept up communication and always emailed/called when he said he would. When we had our meeting prior to the wedding, my husband and I instantly hit it off with Shane. Our wedding happened to be on one of the same nights as a Bruins playoff game & with so many Boston sports fans in our families, we wanted to be able to incorporate it somehow - SO, while DJ’ing, Shane kept an eye on the game and every time the Bruins scored, interrupted the song playing with the horn they play at the game when the B’s score - it was unreal & totally stole the show. Not only did the crowd on the floor go crazy but it brought everyone who wasn’t dancing back out on the floor with us! To take it one step even further, Shane took video the entire day & put it together for us in a fun video - totally on the house. Oh, and the music (if that’s what you’re hoping to hear about) was perfect - everything we asked for. He had everyone out on the dance floor all night - including me and my husband. We could not have asked for more! 10/10 recommend. Quality, affordability & personality are unmatched. You won’t find a better DJ for your wedding than Shane! nd our families to have a safe gathering. So, after already rescheduling vendors once, we decided it was not worth it to continue to shift plans. My wife and I decided to have a small, intimate wedding outdoors last September with no big ceremony or reception. But, we still had a venue and a DJ booked for 5/22/2021. (We were able to work out some sort of refund agreement with all of our other vendors, but the venue refused and Shane stopped answering us.) So, when the state of RI began loosening restrictions, we began inviting friends and family to join us at our venue on 5/22 to at least get a little bit of enjoyment out of the space we had reserved. The venue was great on the day of, and our friends and family showed to celebrate, but we had not heard from Shane in months and he did not show on 5/22 even though there was a valid contract between us. It’s extremely unfortunate that after first contacting Shane about our decision late in 2020, he never offered us options to resolve our situation. His responses were spotty at best at first, sometimes not answering for weeks. And by the time this Spring came around, we simply stopped hearing from him. It would have been great to find a solution that we were all happy and comfortable with, but this was not possible with Shane refusing to answer our messages. We figured if there was any sort of positive to come out of all this, it was that we could have our DJ for our mini, very casual reception on 5/22. When we continued not to hear from Shane and did not see him on our day that he contractually agreed to perform, we felt that this is one of the worst experiences we have had with a professional. We feel that we were ignored, and eventually left paying for a service we never received. Any sort of response or explanation would have made a big difference rather than the extremely poor service that we received.
