Maria at the Meridian House could not have made our lives easier throughout the wedding planning process. We probably asked her a hundred questions via email (because we were not local), but she was patient, friendly, informative, and prompt. The Meridian House is gorgeous inside and out, so if it fits your aesthetic, hurry and reserve your date because it fills up quickly. We had our 70-person ceremony and cocktail hour in the gorgeous Linden Grove garden, which was a bit hot despite the canopy of the trees because it was mid-July, so something to consider. Unlike traditional/hotel reception spaces, the indoor space at the Meridian House is divided into five large rooms/halls, which is great if you intend to separate various events in different spaces. We had dinner and toasts in the Living Room, which was perfect because it is spacious and there is a grand piano on which our DJ lightly played background music; we danced in the Loggia, which is a beautiful circular space accessible from all rooms, and we had the bar, cake, and photobooth in the picturesque library. The guests seemed to have fun going from room to room and seeing what the next space held, though some of the older guests just stayed seated in the Living Room to chat. Because the venue is so ornate and classy, it does not require a ton of florals or decor, unless of course that’s what you want. They also conveniently have a parking lot with complimentary self-parking for guests, less than a minute walk from the building, which was a welcome relief from having to search for street parking in DC. Highly recommend getting married here because every corner is stunning–it will wow your guests and look so pretty in the photos–and the staff is exceptional!
Meridian House is one of the most stunning wedding venues in Washington, D.C. It is seriously breathtakingly beautiful, and the events team there was so helpful and kind. We would love to get married at Meridian all over again, it was THAT perfect! Highly recommend.
Some of our guests told us that it was the best venue they'd been to for a wedding. Meridian House has a great combination of indoor and outdoor space that we were able to use. The garden was green and beautiful, and indoors was very elegant. The staff was very supportive and helpful through the multiple covid delays, and during the ceremony.
Meridian is Amazing! We visited over a dozen venues in the DC area before finding Meridian. I remember once we found it, we had to try and keep our expectations in check because it seemed perfect for us. When we arrived for a tour, we realized with excitement that there was no big catch and it actually was perfect for us! The Meridian team, led by Maria, was incredibly helpful and patient with us as we planned the details. While our wedding itself was delayed due to the pandemic, we highly recommend Meridian to any couples seeking a wedding venue that is beautiful (inside and outside), reasonably priced, and centrally located!
We had to postpone our wedding three times and at this point have toured every venue in the DC area. Meridian House is by FAR the best venue! It is magical by itself, before you introduce one flower or candle, yet can also be transformed for whatever vision you may have for your big day!
The architecture, history, location, parking, indoor and outdoor area (omg the Loggia and the Linden Grove!!!!) is just perfect. But the thing that make it the best venue is Maria Canellis! She was so incredibly professional, prompt and creative in helping us plan a covid wedding! Our vendors needed an extra three days for set up so she was managing a ton of vendors but did it with such grace.
Maria was always the first to give us the latest government guidelines and best practices for our wedding and super empathetic towards us as we have to pivot so many times.
I think she could plan a country take-over by now with her skills! Maria is such a leader and you are in the best of hands if you have any event here!
Thank you Meridian House for our dream wedding!!!!
Hands down the best wedding venue in Washington D.C. Had my wedding here on May 5th and having Meridian as my backdrop brought my dreams to life. The interior is downright gorgeous- beautiful classic architecture- without being stuffy/offputting. And better yet the gardens and linden grove provide just as beautiful of an outdoor space. Together, with the separate rooms and the outdoor space, Meridian House allows a couple to create a truly magical event. To top it off, Maria, the site coordinator, is quite accommodating. Works best at 150 guests or less.
Beautiful venue that feels worlds away while being downtown. So elegant and grand while being warm and intimate.
When you enter the gates of the Meridian House, you are transported into another world. It's the perfect oasis to create an intimate setting for your wedding guests. The house alone could be a work of art, making it impossible to go wrong. We had about 90 guests with both or ceremony and reception inside. The dramatic backdrops made for some gorgeous photos. We really could not have found a more perfect place to mix the fun of the city and romance of a beautiful old home.
Not only is this place gorgeous but Maria is a delight! Trust her advice and get her opinion- she knows the space and genuinely wants you to have a wonderful wedding!
We were so pleased with our experience! Maria Canellis, Alison Grace, and Juan Fonseca and the events staff ensured that every detail was taken care of. Maria was very responsive initially and once everything was confirmed, she was on hand to provide general guidance and field frantic questions and requests. I didn’t hire a wedding planner and I didn’t need one. Maria made it easy, fun, and low-stress. All our needs were met and I would recommend Meridian International Center as a wedding venue to anyone without hesitation. We felt like royalty and we weren’t worried about a thing!
Meridian House was everything we were looking for in our wedding venue - classic, glamorous and intimate. It's a breathtaking space and the walled garden is the perfect spot for cocktails. The events staff at Meridian are also fantastic to work with - they made our wedding day so special.
The home and grounds are stunning and working with Marie was very easy and low key
Meridian House came alive in the sun! Our ceremony was held in the garden with the backdrop of flowerbeds and trees, cocktails under the linden grove, dinner in the dining room, library and entry room, dancing in the ballroom. It was perfect. Maria Cannellenis (sp - sorry!) was fantastic! It was a blessing that there was breeze as the ACs weren't that strong. Meridian is expensive, but we loved every minute and our guests have been raving ever since. I highly recommend the Meridian House!
