s, and that was completely fine with us! Everything was truly delicious. The cake was both beautiful and sort of eclectic, entirely due to our design choices – we could have been more involved in the process of thinking through the colors, the size of our (80s) wedding topper vs the size of our smaller cake, etc. Meringue did everything we asked them to with the cake! Make sure you know what you’re asking for, think through how colors will look next to one another, size of toppers and figurines, etc., and they will make it look awesome. Our only gripe, and this is a small one, was that we’d planned to pay them to deliver and set up desserts, but it was rather close to the day of the wedding when we realized that the event timing (and the date of the wedding, on NYE) wouldn’t actually allow for them to deliver and set up without a rather hefty additional charge. The additional cost makes sense – it was a holiday, and the dessert setup was going to have to happen late in the day (6-7pm), so of course there would be additional costs vs. an afternoon event on any other Tuesday. However, we would have loved for them to communicate that to us earlier in the process so we could plan accordingly, either to pay the extra or to make alternate setup plans. It worked out completely fine, as they delivered 1 day early and a close friend of mine did me a solid and set everything up beautifully for us during cocktail hour – but it was a little bit of a dash to figure out at the last minute. Highlights/favorites: Dessert shooters. These things are bigger than you imagine and are beyond tasty. The chocolate/vanilla shooter was my personal favorite. Cheesecake bites were great – their take on Oreo cheesecake is SO good, we heard many compliments about it! I also loved the lemon lavender mini cupcakes we had – it’s hard to get that flavor combination right, and they knocked it out of the park. Overall, we splurged on dessert to go with Meringue and it was definitely worth it. If you have flex in your budget and want desserts that people will happily enjoy (and talk about), you should totally go with them!
