Merritt House Denver

Merritt House is two historic buildings located in the heart of the Sloans Lake Neighborhood in Denver, CO. The first building was constructed in 1902 and served as the Sloans Lake community-based Merritt Methodist Church. The second building was constructed in 1956 and served the church’s operations for Sunday school and church-related events through 2016. The 1902 building continues to serve as a church, wedding venue, and community events center. Merritt House is conveniently located just 3 minutes from I-25 and 7 minutes from Downtown, Lodo, LoHi, and the Highlands areas. The parking lot (18 spaces) and street parking (30+ spaces) can accommodate 50+ cars combined. The Merritt House’s sanctuary, with its traditional architecture, offers couples an impressive and historic structure for an amazing wedding experience. Merritt House offers equal blessings and support to all people regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, national origin, religious background, or chosen spiritual path. Our venue is the perfect environment to host your ceremony, always turning clients’ dreams into reality. Per our neighborhood good neighbor agreement, all indoor and outdoor festivities must end by 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends. As a goodwill gesture to our neighbors, all outside noise and celebration must come inside no later than 10:00 PM. Merritt House can accommodate both your ceremony and reception. The trendy interior sanctuary features brick walls, exposed beams, detachable barn doors, and soaring stained glass windows. For your ceremony, The Merritt House can seat up to 110 guests. Ceremony packages include two get-ready suites, 4 hours of event time - setup, ceremony, and the breakdown and clean up, a venue supervisor, a one-hour rehearsal, audio equipment, a unity candle stand, candelabra stands, candles, a gift table, a kneeling bench, an easel and communion tables. Merritt House also offers an optional outdoor event tent to enhance the wedding ceremony room and comfort. Reception packages include 5 hours of event time - setup, reception, breakdown, and clean up.
